Hi everyone, Rosestar48 here! Today will have Yuzu last match against her best friend, Gongenzaka!
Steadfast Resolution! Noboru Gongenzaka
Nakajima and the Leo Corporation employees step aside as Reiji approaches Kurosaki. "And you are…?" Kurosaki asks Reiji. "Reiji Akaba. Leo Corporation's current president" Reiji introduces himself. "Reiji…Akaba…" Kurosaki repeats Reiji's name to himself. "The fact that you continue to assault parties related to Leo Corporation such as LDS in this Maiami City means you wish to meet me" Reiji remarks, suggested. "Am I mistaken?" He asks. Kurosaki smiles "You're…Reiji Akaba…The son of Leo Akaba?" He brashly asks. "I've been waiting for this moment" Kurosaki claims. "Now come at me! Duel me!" He challenges Reiji. "Before that, let me ask you something…as to why you're fighting me" Reiji asks. "I don't need to answer that!" Kurosaki retorts. "It's most likely to rescue your comrades" Reiji muse. Kurosaki freezes up in shock. "The girl collapsed behind you…testified that you said went she first encountered you:" Reiji states.
(Flashback)
"Yuto!" Kurosaki calls Yuya, which confused Yuya. "Why is Yuto here…?" Kurosaki wonders. Removing his dark glasses "Did you get away?! Did you manage to escape on your own!?" Kurosaki asks him.
(Flashback ends)
"From there, I deduced that Yuto is to you…no, to all of you, a dear comrade. And it would seem that he is currently captured by your enemy. And even now, Yuto has yet to escape from the enemy's clutches" Reiji deduces. "That's why you are continuing to attack LDS like this" He states , as he looks over the unconscious Yaiba, Masumi and Hokuto. Kurosaki then remembers what Ruri told him
(Flashback)
"He is not Yuto That boy learned Fusion in front of my very eyes" Ruri tells Kurosaki. "There is no way our comrade, and your best friend…would ever learn Fusion with a smile on his face!" She states.
(Flashback ends)
"There's no doubt that Yuto is still in captivity now" Kurosaki agrees. "But I will save him! In order to do that…I just need you!" He declares. "Just as I had suspected…So simply put you wish to use me as a hostage to exchange" Reiji muses. "That's right. The reason I kept attacking LDS…And the reason I sent you the cards with souls sealed inside…It was all to draw you out!" Kurosaki states. "If I have his son as a bartering chip…then even Leo Akaba will be unable to say no!" He exclaims. "I wonder about that…" Reiji wonders. "What?!" Kurosaki asks. "I have a hard time believing that he values me that much" Reiji admits. "What do you mean?" Kurosaki asks. "Never mind that…" Reiji brushs off the remark. "If you wish to fight me, I have no objections. But I have one condition" He states. "Condition?" Kurosaki wonders. "If you alone fulfills my condition, then I'll gladly be your opponent. And if you win…you can do whatever you want" Reiji states. "Hey!" Kurosaki protest as Reiji and Nakajima leaves.
Yuya runs through the street where Kurosaki Dueled Masumi, Yaiba and Hokuto, But he finds no-one there but the crows. "Where's Masumi…?" Yuya wonders.
The next day, Yuzu picks up her Deck "You've grown just as I had expected on these past three matches" Yuzu remembers Nico's words from after his third match.
(Flashback)
"In your first Duel, you showed there is no perfect plans in cooking or Dueling, and learn that having a flexible state of mind and an ability to improvise on the spot…create the best hospitality" Nico states about her Duel with Michio. "In the second Duel, you learned that you won't improve through complacency, and that it's important to communicate with the opponent and audience…" Nico points out about her Duel with Kyuando. "And in the third Duel, you finally surpassed my imagination and left the entire gallery in awe!" Nico states about her Duel with Satoru. "So far so good! But the next match is the most important!" He tells Yuzu. "This is the fourth and final match I will produce for you, Yuzu!" Nico exclaims. "This is your 50th match this year! If you win this you'll be at 30 wins out of 50 matches and reach your 60% win rate benchmark, qualifying you for the Junior Youth Championship!" He points out. "Show me the summation of your acquired skills in this next battle! And make your first step towards becoming a pro!" Nico tells Yuzu.

"Today, my future will be decided" Yuzu thinks. "No matter who my opponent is, I'll believe in myself…and make it through with my Entertainment Dueling!" She vows. "All right! First, I'll eat my fill of Dad's pancakes! I'll have a big serving of 30 in order to get my 30th…!" Yuzu decides as she cheerily runs down the stairs. "Huh? Dad?" Yuzu notice her dad wasn't there. "Dad? Dad? Dad?" She looks around. "What the…" Yuzu wonders. "Dad? Dad?" Yuzu looks around the house. Yuzu then sat down on sofa stool "Even Sora isn't here even thought he usually is…" She states. "Where did everyone go?" Yuzu desperately asks.
Later, in You Show Duel School elevator, a thoroughly annoyed Yuzu eats her breakfast "Jeez…Today is the important day that determines whether or not his daughter takes her first step as a pro…and Dad doesn't make breakfast…" She irritated. But when she emerges from the elevator "Hm? Dad don't here…Is Yuya here? Hey, what are you all hiding for?" Yuzu wonders. "Come on out! Ayu! Futoshi! Tatsusya!" She calls out. "Even Yuya and Auntie wasn't home when I called their house…" Yuzu states. "How could nobody be at home or at Duel School? Just what happened" She wonders aloud. "I wonder! Just what could have happened?" Nico wonders. "Nico!" Yuzu exclaims, "At your service! Good morning, Yuzu!" Nico bows. "Did you get enough rest last night?" He asks. "More importantly, where is everyone?" Yuzu asks. "Is it bothering you?" Nico wonders. "It is!" Yuzu replies. "Where is everyone?" She asks. "Oh, look at the time! You should hurry or you'll be late!" Nico comments, as he doesn't responds to Yuzu's question. "Now let's go!" He states and drags her into the elevator. "W-Wait! Answer me! Where did everyone go?" Yuzu angrily asks him as Nico smiles innocently.
Nico leads Yuzu to the Gongenzaka Dojo. "My fourth opponent is here…don't tell me it's…" Yuzu asks Nico. "You can confirm that yourself" Nico tells Yuzu, and the enter the Dojo grounds "I was tired of waiting for you, Yuzu!" Gongenzaka tells her. "Why did you go out of the way to make me fight Gongenzaka?" Yuzu wonders. "We've already Dueled tons of times…" She points out. "It's true that you have Dueled him plenty of times" Nico agrees. "But you haven't has a real match with him yet" He points out. Yuzu was speechless. "I am also aware of the fact that he is your best friend. Especially after the person you admired, Yusho Sakaki, disappeared during his championship match, Gongenzaka put his body on the line to protect you from the cruel public! I was moved by such friendship!" Nico states Wiping the tears from his eyes. "But even if you are best friends, a real match is a different matter entirely! Even more so if you're aiming to be a pro!" Nico tells Yuzu. "He's exactly right, Yuzu!" Gongenzaka agrees. "You and I have fought countless times before. But there was no seriousness in those matches!" He states. "I couldn't seriously fault you for feeling hurt at Yusho's disappearance. But I realized that feeling pity for you only served to make me weaker!" Gogenzaka claims. "Make you…weaker?" Yuzu confused. Gongenzaka nods "In the third match of You Show Duel School vs. LDS…I wasn't able to win even though we were tied 1-1!" Gongenzaka claims. "But it still ended in a draw!" Yuzu reminds him. "I couldn't win because of the weakness in my heart! Being unable to break away from my own softness was the reason I didn't win that Duel! I must push myself further if I am to purge myself of such weakness!" Gongenzaka claims. "And with that in mind, Gongenzaka shockingly went as far as betting his entry into the Junior Youth Championship on this fight! He won matches until he was one away from 60% win record requirement, then he refuse any further Duel challenges and waited until Yuzu had won enough matches!" Nico cuts in, explains. "What?!" Yuzu shock. "Just one more win! He waited until you were under the same conditions! Simply put, he set it up so that only the one who wins this very Duel can enter the tournament!" Nico states. "Wh-why go that far?!" Yuzu asks in shock. "Because I thought that if I didn't do this much, I wouldn't be able to get a serious match from you" Gongenzaka replies. "Eventually I will inherit this dojo, so this duel is also a test for honing my Steadfast Dueling!" He states. "I'll set aside my pity and defeat you with all I've got because you're my best friend!" Gongenzaka declares. "Prepare yourself, Yuzu!" He tells her and Yuzu bites her lip in frustration.
(Flashback)
In the past, Yuzu walks down a street with her visors over her eyes "Look, that coward's student is walking over there!"A child whisprers. "Yeah, she's the student of Yusho Sakaki, the guy who ran away!" Another child whispers. "She was at the stadium, wasn't she?" A third child whispers. "She as saying things like "I'll duel you in the place of Sir!" A fourth child whispers. The children starts laughing at Yuzu. Depressed, Yuzu walked right into a bigger boy wearing a shirt with Strong Ishijima's face emblazoned on it. The boy removed Yuzu's visors "If you're going to fight in place of Yusho, then I'll be fighting for Strong Ishijima!" The boy tells Yuzu. "So let's Duel!" He challenges her, but Yuzu was hesitant. "What? You don't want to? You going to run away like Yusho did?" The boy mocks Yuzu. "Jeez, you're a helpless weakling, aren't you!" He calls Yuzu, riling her up. "Stop it!" Gongenzaka yells out and Yuzu and the boy turned to him. The boy grunts. "I, the man Gongenzaka, won't forgive bullying the weak!" Gongenzaka stepped in to break them up, refusing. "Have you forgotten the Iron Rules of our Gongenzaka dojo?!" He asks the boy. "I wasn't bullying her. I just asked her for a Duel, that all. We were going to prove who's stronger between Yusho Sakaki and Strong Ishijima in there stead!" The boy claimed. "Our dojo did not teach you Steadfast Duelling for things like this! Those who take part in meaningless fights are excommunicated at once! Whether you may be a senior disciple to me or not! I won't let it slide!" Gongenzaka warns the boy. "Gongenzaka…" Yuzu whispers.

Back in the present, standing before the disciples of the Gongenzaka Dojo, "Have you not steeled your resolve yet, Yuzu?" Nico asks her. "Well that's understandable. You have to cut down the man who's had you back all these years. Otherwise you won't be able to play in the Junior Youth Championship" He states. "Where is everyone at a time like this…" Yuzu wonders. "And of course, in order to become a pro, you need the strength to fight alone" Nico adds. "Up until now, you have been protected by not only Gongenzaka, but plenty of others. Always being cheered on and encouraged has given you strength" He points out. "Being a pro means being able to display your skills even as the away team, even if everyone around you is cheering for the enemy." Nico states. "That is exactly why I had your cheer crew take a leave of absence this time" He said. But this isn't entirely true - unbeknownst to Yuzu, the three kids, Yuya, Sora, Shuzo and Yoko were hidden in an upper room looking through a grate. "This is their first serious match together. Good luck!" Shuzo wished them. "Yuzu…" Yuya whispers. "Well then, shall we begin, Master Gongenzaka?" Nico asks, and Master Gongenzaka stands up "Dueling is to polish one's soul!" He declares. "Diligently cultivating each other's character while possessing an immovable spirit no matter the circumstances. This is the path our Gongenzaka Dojo travels upon!"Master Gongenzaka states. "You shall clash with each other fair and square in this fight. And I wish for you to polish each other's souls" He tells them. "Now! Action Field on! Field Spell: Sword's Cemetery activate!" Mater Gongenzaka declares. The same field that Gongenzaka Duelled Yaiba Todo on materializes around them "Th-this is!" Yuzu recognizes the field. "Yes! This is the same field that I fought LDS on!" Gongenzaka states. "Why choose this one?!" Yuzu asks Gongenzaka. "Yeah, you'll soon understand why" Gongenzaka reassures Yuzu. "Let's go!" He decalres, and they ready their Duel Disks.
"Duelists locked on battle!" Gongenzaka yells. "Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" Yuzu declares. "They storm though this Field!" Gongenzaka roars. "Behold!" Yuzu cries. "This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling! ACTION! DUEL!" Both declares.
"I'll take the first move!" Gongenzaka states. "I summon Superheavy Samurai Flutist from my hand!" He declares (ATK: 500). "On the turn this card is successfully Normal Summoned, I can Release it and Special a Summon Superheavy Samurai!" He states. "I Summon Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei in Defense Position!" Gongenzaka declares (DEF: 3500). "I end my turn with this" He states. "A Level 8 monster right out of the gates?!" Tatsuya shock. "Gon-chan's going all out right from the get go! He's really serious!" Sora comments. "Both of their entries into the Junior Youth Champion are riding in this Duel! I want Gongenzaka to win since he's been such a huge help, but…as the Principal of You Show Duel School, I should cheer for Yuzu..!" Poor Shuzo conflicted. "What should I do?!" He gets desperate, Yuya had to smack him with his fan to calm him down "Keep it down! Don't yell! What'll you do if Yuzu hear us?" Yuya reminds him. "That's right!" Ayu agrees. "Nico told us to quietly watch today!" She points out. "Sorry!" Shuzo apologizes. "I wonder how Yuzu will answer to Gon-chan's fighting spirit?" Sora wonders. "This is going to be fun!" He excitedly declares.
"Why does my important match have to be with Gongenzaka?" Yuzu asks herself. "It's thanks to him that I've come this far…Even the reason I have 50 matches played this year is because he referred me to disciples from his own dojo!" She thinks. "And even I have to defeat the very person who helped me and make him unable to enter the tournament?!" Yuzu wonders. "Pitying your opponent so much is the same as disrespecting them!" Gongenzaka warns Yuzu. "I'll say this again, Yuzu, it's because you are my best friend that I will defeat you with all my strength! You should throw away those meaningless feelings and face me with all your might!" He reiterates. Yuzu gasps. "My turn! Draw!" She declares. "I summon Cynthia the Melodious Valkyrie!" Yuzu states (ATK: 1800). "Let's go, Cynthia!" She said as she leaps on Cynthia's back and the monster sprints forwards. Yuzu snags an Action Card from the ground "This it..!" Yuzu gasps. "I activate Action Card: Extreme Sword!" She declares. "Cynthia's ATK increase by 1000 when it battles another monster!" Yuzu states (Cynthia's ATK: 2800). Yuzu grabs another Action Card, "I can use this too!" She excitedly exclaim. "I activate Action Card: Over Sword!" Yuzu declares. "Cynthia's ATK increase by another 500 when it battles!" She states (Cynthia's ATK: 3300). "Running around while getting Action Cards, huh? She's going on the offensive!" Sora observes. "Yuzu is Duelling like she always does!" Tatsuya exclaims. "And it always gives me shivers!" Futoshi comments. "But even with those power-ups, Cynthia's ATK is only 3300…It isn't enough for Big Benkei's 3500 DEF!" Yuya points out. Screeching to a halt, Yuzu leaps off Cynthia "Battle Phase! Cynthia attack Big Benkei!" Yuzu declares. As Cynthia lunges forwards "At this moment, Cynthia's monster effect activates!" She declares. "It's ATK increases by 300 until the end of the Damage Step!" Yuzu explains. Cynthia was surrounded by a blue aura (Cynthia's ATK: 3600). "It's higher than Big Benkei now!" Tatsuya praise. "Now she can win!" Ayu praise. "Shivers abound!" Futoshi said. "By sending Superheavy Samurai Soulfire Suit from my hand to my Graveyard, I activate it's monster effect!" Gongenzaka declares. "It negates Big Benkai's destruction!" He states. Soulfire Suit appears and blocks the attack with a red energy dome before disintegrating. "When its destruction is negated by this effect, Big Benkai's DEF goes down by 800!" Gongenzaka adds (Big Benkai's DEF: 2700). "Cynthia as well as my two Action Cards' effect wears off at the end of the Damage Step, returning Cynthia's ATK to normal" Yuzu states (Cynthia's ATK: 1800). "I can't fight this match with half-hearted feelings…" She thinks. "I set one card…and end my turn!" Yuzu states. "Attacking Yuzu, Defending Gongenzaka. The opening act went as expected" Nico observes. "Indeed" Gongenzaka's father agrees. "No matter how the opponent may move around, one must always hold a steadfast stance. This is the fundamental fighting style of our Gongenzaka Dojo!" He states. "Well done, Noboru! As expected of the successor of my dojo! " Gongenzaka's father congratulates him. "Piece through the Junior Youth Championship with your Steadfast Duelling!" He tells Gongenzaka. "You're getting ahead of yourself, father. The match has only just begun, and I haven't exerted my full strength yet!" Gongenzaka comments. "Gongenzaka…" Yuzu whispers.
"Here we go! My turn!" Gongenzaka declares and draws Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter. "It's here!" He declares. "I, the man Gongenzaka, have cast off my shell and steeled my heart in order to defeat my friend!" Gongenzaka muse. "Watch this, Father! This is the new Steadfast Dueling I aspire to create!" HE tells his father. "I summon the Level 2 Tuner Monster, Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!" Gongenzaka declares (ATK: 300). Gongenzaka's father and Yuzu gasps in utter shock. "A Tuner Monster?" Yuya surprises. "Is Gon-chan really going to-!?" Sora shocked. "Do a Synchro Summon?" Shuzo wonders. "No way!" The kids exclaims. "I tune my Level 8 Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei with my Level 2 Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!" Gongenzaka declares. "Raging deity, in unison with the roar of a thousand blades, come forth in a spiralling sandstorm! Synchro Summon! Now come before us! Level 10! Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo!" He chants. As the Synchro Monster jams its halberd into the ground, displaying its Defense (DEF: 3800) "Gongenzaka…Synchro Summoned?" Yuzu shocked. "My goodness!" Nico shocked. Gongenzaka's father was in shock. "He really…" Yuya shock. "Did it…" Sora shock. "Was the reason he went out of his way to pick out this field was for this?" Shuzo wonders. "Yuzu…" He murmurs is daughter's name. Gongenzaka stamps on the ground "Here I come, Yuzu! The serious match has finally begun! Prepare yourself!" He tells Yuzu. Yuzu got a worried look on her face.
