Opening! Maiami Championship
Outside of You Show Duel School, "Yuya, Yuzu, Sora, Tatsuya, Ayu, Futoshi. The day has finally come!" Shuzo tells them. "To think that all of our students from You Show Duel School qualified for the Maiami Championship…" He states. "I…I'm…So proud of you all!" Shuzo cries. Shuzo reaches forward to hug his students but they dodge, sending him crashing. A cyclist then rides over his back. "Why did you dodge…?" Shuzo painfully asks. "Principal, you're way too excited" An embarrassed Yuya suggests. "We're not even at the stadium yet…" Ayu points out. "Y-Yeah…that's right…" Shuzo agrees as he gets up. "Then allow me to explain again, "The Maiami Championship is separated into three different classes: Junior, Junior Youth and Youth" Shuzo explains. Tatsuya, Ayu and Futoshi are in Junior Class" He states. "Okay!" The kids said. "Yuya, Yuzu and Sora have qualified for the Junior Youth Class" Shuzo states. "Okay!" Yuya, Yuzu and Sora said. "I'm sure you know this, the LDS-sponsored Maiami Championship isn't just all the Duel Schools from Maiami City…but also qualifiers from all of Japan, no, the whole world came to attend!" Shuzo explains. "In order to promote our You Show Duel School's Entertainment Dueling style, you should all be aiming to win! Now, from here on out, you are not only friends who have trained together…but also fierce rivals! Fight with all your strength! Don't be hesitate or be disheartened! Believe in what you've learned and burn brightly! Hot-Bloodied!" He encourages his students. Just as his "get fired up" speech reaches its climax, Shuzo's students were already boarding the school bus. Ayu and Tatsuya put on their seatbelts "Alright!" Tatsuya exclaims. "I'll do my best!" Ayu states. "I'll shiver them to their bone!" Futoshi exclaims. Yuya smacks his face "I'll definitely win!" He vows. Once Shuzo gets on as the bus driver, "Alright, you guys all set?" He asks. "Yeah!" Everyone said. "Then we're off! Burning engine start!" Shuzo declares and starts the bus. But then Yuya scream and Shuzo stops the bus. "Wh-what's wrong, Yuya?!" Shuzo asks. "Principal, Yuzu…Yuzu is…!" Yuya exclaims. "Yuzu is…?" Shuzo confuse , and everyone see that Yuzu was missing. "Not here!" The students cries out. "What!?" Shuzo cries out.
Maiami Championship merchandise is being sold on the streets of Maiami. "Have a look here! Maiami City has truly become a city of Duels!" A reporter notes. "That's right! Today, this city's greatest event, the Maiami Championship, is finally about to begin! To say the least, Maiami City is home to the developer of the Real Solid Vision System, the pinnacle of the Dueling industry itself, Leo Corporation!" She explains. "This tournament has gained attention as one of the world's largest, drawing in competitors from around the globe! Along with that, many spectators have come here to see the best of the best face off!" The same reporter also states. The reporter later overlooks the stadium "Amazing! The stadium for the tournament is already filled!" She notes. The spectators then gave a big cheer "Oh? Could this be?" The reporter wonders. "Reiji! It's Reiji!" She exclaims. "The main sponsor of this tournament and the current President of Leo Corporation, Reiji Akaba has made an appearance!" The reporter announces as Reiji, Reira and Himika of the Akaba family take their seats in a VIP box. "Reiji!" several girls cheer Reiji's name. "And in person as well! It is very rare to see Reiji in person!" The reporter states. "Reiji! Reiji! Reiji!" several spectators chants his name. Reira clutches his bear tightly. "This is the first time I've seen Reiji Akaba too!" A spectator note. "Well, that's because he almost never comes out in public, after all" Another spectator points out. "Yeah, you could even call him a living legend! Isn't it true that he's been the champion of Junior, Junior Youth and Youth classes of this tournament? Then, they say that he got his Pro qualification at the age of fifteen! He really is a genius!" A third spectator remembers.
At the stadium corridors, Ayu, Futoshi and Tatsuya meet up at one spot after searching for Yuzu "How'd it go?" Ayu asks them. "She wasn't there! She really hasn't come here yet!" Futoshi states. "I wonder what happened to Yuzu…?" Tatsuya wonders. "Got it, you guys just keep on searching!" Shuzo tells them over the phone and continues to look for Yuzu outside "Dangit, Yuzu, she's really…!" Shuzo cursed. Meanwhile, Sora is sitting at a corner consuming a lollipop when Yuya and the You Show Youths approach him. "Sora! Has Yuzu…?" Yuya asks. "Nope, she hasn't come here yet" Sora says. "Yuya, what should we do?" Ayu asks. "I called her house, but nobody answers…I can't get a hold of her at all!" Yuya mentions. "Where could Yuzu have gone…?" Yuya wonders. "What did you say?" A voice asks and the group turn to see Satoru standing there. "You're…!" Yuya gasps. "Is it true that my darling hasn't come yet?" Satoru inquires. "My…darling?!" Yuya flares angrily at Satoru's slip of the tongue, scaring the You Show Youths. "Yuya!" Tatsuya scared. "Could it be…! Darling snuck off to meet my mother and father! Oh my, what a surprise!" Satoru postulates, with a blush. "What're you talking about! There's no way that could happen!" Yuya exclaims as he was about to unleash his paper fan fury at Satoru. "Yuya, calm down!" Tatsuya tells him. "But what should do? The tournament's opening ceremony is about to start…" Ayu points out. "Don't worry! I'll be able to find where my darling is with my fortune telling!" Satoru claims. He places his crystal apple on the floor above a piece of cloth "Darling…Darling…where could you be? My darling… my sweet darling…!"" He waves hand above it. His playful attitude grates on Yuya even further, but before Yuya can strike "I see it!" Satoru excliams. "Wh-where is she?" Ayu asks. "That way!" Satoru points. "Huh? That way?" Tatsuya confused. "Yes! I told you she's that way!" Satoru states he points at a distance across the sea.
Indeed, Yuzu was overlooking the stadium from a bridge very far away, wearing her visors "Sir, it's finally going to begin…The tournament to get closer to you…" Yuzu thinks as she remembers the very last time she met Yusho: before he was due to challenge Strong Ishijima.
(Flashback)
"Isn't Strong Ishijima…the challenger this time really strong?" Yuzu wonders. "Yeah, but don't worry! No matter how strong he is, Uncle will do his best!" Yusho reassures Yuzu. "So you should do your best in your Junior Youth matches, Yuzu!" He tells her. "Yeah! I'll win the tournament and become a Duelist like you, Uncle!" Yuzu smiles. Yusho put his hand on Yuzu's head "Yuzu, you've got that a bit wrong…Instead of being like me, it's more important to be like yourself" He reminds her.

"It's important to be like myself…" Yuzu finishes reminiscing by swinging her pendant. "Hey, if you don't hurry up you're going to be late!" A voice tells Yuzu. Yuzu turns to see Yoko standing there. "Auntie!" Yuzu surprised. "I got a call from Yuya!" Yoko explains. "Everyone is worried because you went missing" She states. "Auntie, I…" Yuzu hesitates trying to respond. "Yuzu…" Yoko put her hands on Yuzu's shoulders. "You picked the wrong place to so this" She tells her. "Huh?" Yuzu asks. "If you want to tell Yusho something, you shouldn't do it here, but there instead!" Yoko tells Yuzu as she points to the stadium. "The stadium…" Yuzu whispers and takes off her visors.
At the stadium corridors, "I heard that Yuzu Hiragi ran away!" A boy said. "Huh? Then she's like Yusho, isn't she?" Another boy states. "Yuya…What should we do?" Ayu worried. "Yuzu…" Yuya worried. "Ah, there you are!" A voice calls out and everyone turn. "Hey! Yuya! Guys!" Yuzu waves to them as she runs towards them. "Yuzu!" The kids exclaims. "Yuzu!" Yuya gasps, and looks like he was about to cry. "Sorry for the wait!" Yuzu apologizes for her lateness. "Yuzu!" Yuya exclaims as he grabs Yuzu's hands. "I was so worried about you, where did you wander off to?!" Yuya asks. "Sorry, I just had something to take care of!" Yuzu said and winks. "We're can enter the stadium soon, right? Let's go line up!" She states and starts to lead the group. "You really…" Yuya unimpressed with Yuzu's behaviour. "Don't worry about it!" Yuzu tells him before she bumps into someone into a familiar face. "It's been a while, weakling!" The Boy calls Yuzu. "Y-you're…?!" Yuzu gasps as she recognizes him as the boy how picked on her as a child. "It was before an important tournament, so I was certain you'd run away! Just like your teacher!" The boy states. "What was that!?" Yuzu annoyed. "I'll never accept that someone like you beat Strong Ishijima!" The boy states. "Who's that?" Sora asks. "No idea…" Tatsuya unsure. "How about I crush you right here and prove what a pushover you really are? "Hmm?" The boy challenges Yuzu. Yuzu grits her teeth in defiance. "That's enough, Gen Ankokuji!" Someone tells him as they put their hands on his shoulders. "Gongenzaka!" Yuzu surprise. "Calling a senior disciple by his name, are we?" Ankokuji wonders. "You must be a real big shot now, Gongenzaka!" He said. "You are no longer my senior!" Gongenzaka claims. "Players can enter the stadium in a moment. All competitors, please line up in front of your respective team placards" An announcement calls the duellists. "At least try and stay in the until I crush you!" Ankokuji tells Gongenzaka as he walks away. "To think we'd meet him here…" Gongenzaka mutters. "Gongenzaka! You qualified for the tournament, right?" Yuzu trilled. "Yeah! I, the man Gongenzaka, made the 60% win rate qualification right before the entry deadline!" Gongenzaka confirms. "Really? That's great!" Yuzu pleased. "Great job!" She congratulates him. They clasp hands as a mark of respect.
Soon, Nico takes to the center of the stadium "Everyone, we apologize for the long wait! The once a year festival for Duelist! The Maiami Championship has begun!" Nico announces. "I, Nico Smiley, will be running you through this opening ceremony!" He states. The spectators gave a big cheer. "Now then, let the entrance procession begin!" Nico declares.
The spotlight shines on Nico "Now then, let the entrance procession begin!" He declares. Two fairy flies around creating fireworks and streamers with the words "Maiami Championship appeared. "The entry process has begun!" The reporter announces as the first group enters the stadium. "Leading the march is the school that won all classes in last year's tournament, LDS-Leo Duel School!" The reporter announces. "As a prestigious school that produce many Pro Duelist every year, they have the most entrants this year once again!" She states. Yuzu and Yuya see that Leo Corporation's chosen participants include Hokuto, Masumi, Sawatari, Yaiba and to their surprise, Kurosaki. "He's…!" Yuzu gasps. "Why is he in LDS?!" Yuya shocked. Both of them then looked at each other in surprised. "Following them…the flagship for the martial art based schools, Ryozanpaku!" The reporter announces as the Ryozanpaku School enters the stadium. "This school's ace, Isao Kachidoki, was the runner-up for last year's Junior Youth tournament! They're determined to take down LDS this year!" She states. "And now, an international team from overseas, Knight of Duels!" The reporter announces and the Knight of Duels enters the stadium. As other teams begin to enter, Reiji himself catches sight of Kurosaki and recalls the agreement they had.
(Flashback)
"Enter into a Duel Tournament? Are those the conditions to Duel you?" Kurosaki asks. "That's right" Reiji confirms. "There, we will be picking the strongest Duelist. In order to fight against Leo Akaba" He states. "Against your own father?!" Kurosaki shocked. "Leo Akaba is my enemy. Simply put, we are fighting against a common enemy" Reiji states. Kurosaki gasps. As a shot of the fallen Hokuto, Yaiba and Masumi pans behind Kurosaki "In the tournament, there is someone who uses real Fusion Summons. On top of that, there another who is using a Summoning method you don't know of yet" Reiji explains Kurosaki. "I'd like you to verify it up close. I want to know if she will be useful as a lance to fight against Leo Akaba…" He tells Kurosaki.

"Moving on, a school who specializes in Trick Dueling, Surprise School!" The reporter announces "This school's ace, Yuzo Tanegashima, has a designed a transforming deck…" She explains. "Then you know him too, Yuzu?" Yuya asks. "Yeah…He attacked members of the LDS top team in front of my eyes!" Yuzu explains. "Huh?" Yuya confused. "And with those loud cheers, we welcome a school for active idols who are learning Dueling, Duels Girls Club!" The reporter announces. "We have our eyes on the genius Idol Duellist, Mikiyo Naname!" She states. "Following them, the talk of the town with their Entertainment Dueling, You Show Duel School" The reporter announces as Yuzu and the rest of You Show enters the stadium. Yoko and Shuzo are seen in front of exit E15 at the stadium. "Yuya! Have fun!" Yoko cheers. "You Show Duel School! Fight! Fight! Fight!" Shuzo cheers. "You Show Duel School's Yuzu Hiragi is becoming a household name with her new Summoning method, Pendulum! We'll be keeping our eyes on her this touramnet!" The reporter announces. This catches Reiji's attentions. Eventually, all duellists have been led out "All of you who have gathered here, are elite, having won your way out of many other Duelist! We expect you to Duel your best while exhibiting fair play!" The tournament's organiser delivers a speech. Everyone gave their applauses. "Next, we will be conducting the oath of fair play! The players' representative this year is…! You Show Duel School's Yuzu Hiragi!" Nico declares. "Huh?! Me?!" Yuzu surprised. "Yuzu is-?!" Yuya surprised. "Saying the oath?!" Yoko surprised. "How did that happen?!" Shuzo shocked. "Wa-wait a second! No one told me about th-!" Yuzu claims. "Yuzu Hiragi, to the stage please!" Nico calls out. Yuzu was escorted to the temporary stage. "Yuzu, if you're a woman, pull it off in one go!" Gongenzaka tells her. Yuzu was thrown on to the stage. "Yuzu, this is another step forward as an entertaniner! Now, if you will…" Nico tells her. "Yuzu…" Yuya whispers. Yuzu then stands up "Well then…" She said and walks to the microphone stand. "O-o-oath of fair flay!" Yuzu announces "Yuzu…" Tatsuya mutters. "You're way too hyped up…" Futoshi states. "Uh… umm…!" Yuzu forgets the words to the pledge, which causes the audience to mumble between themselves. "Yuzu, get it together! Everyone is watching!" Yuya calls out to Yuzu. "Everyone is…?" Yuzu whispers. "Making everyone smile…" Yuzu remembers Yusho's words, Yuzu grips her pendulum-shaped pendant. "Will Yuzu be okay?" Shuzo wonders. "She'll be fine, don't worry!" Yoko says.
"Ladies and Gentlemen" Yuzu throws down. "Yuzu?!" Yuya shocked. "Pardon me for my earlier mistake" Yuzu apologizes. "In order to turn that around, this is the oath of fair play!" She announces. "...is what I'd like to start off with, but I would like you to listen to what I have to say instead" Yuzu states. "My teacher is the Duelist Yusho Sakaki! The best Entertainment Duelist in the world! But as you all know, three years ago, before his Duel begun, he went away somewhere…Everyone called me the student of the runaway Duellist, and I practiced Entertainment Dueling desperately saying "I'll show them!" But at some point, I think I really ran away from actually Dueling. But after discovering Pendulum Summoning and fighting with really strong Duelists, I began to enjoy Dueling more and more!" She tells everyone. "Yuzu…" Yuya gasps. "I realized I want to like Duelling even more! And I want to be like Yusho Sakaki, someone who people will be proud to know, the best Pro Duellist! I want be a Duelist who can make myself and everyone else enjoy Dueling even more!" Yuzu confidently states her ambition. Reiji applauds Yuzu's speech slowly, and is then joined by the other duelists and eventually the entire stadium audience, although Kurosaki is notably not clapping. "Excellent! That was Yuzu Hiragi's oath of fair play as well as her declaration of her determination!" Nico impressed. As Yuzu walks off the stage, Himiko looks on. "Well said, Yuzu!" Shuzo yells proudly. "Yoko! Yuzu right now is catching up to the famed duelist Yusho Sakaki!" He tells her. "Don't be ridiculous!" Yoko tells Shuzo. "Huh?!" Shuzo confuse. "She's not catching up to Yusho Sakaki, she's going to surpass him!" Yoko states. "Yoko…" Shuzo whispers. "If she doesn't have much spirit, then she's won't be able to win this!" Yoko points out.
"Now then, we will announce the first matches!" Nico announces. "All competitors, please out your registration cards into your Duel Disk!" He orders them. "This is the registration card, right?" Yuzu wonders as she takes a card out of her pocket. "We got this before we came into the stadium, didn't we?" Yuya reminds Yuzu as he got his card out. "The registration card receives communication from the Tournament Operator's computers, and will guide you to your opponent. And, of course, it will update when you qualify for the next round of the tournament!" Nico explains. "Really! That's convenient!" Yuzu states. "Alright!" She said and everyone put their registration cards in their Duel Disk. "My opponent is…" Yuzu wonders as she put her card in her Duel Disk. "Sawatari!?" Yuzu shocked as a picture of Sawatari appeared on her Duel Disk. "My opponent is…Masumi?!" Yuya shocked. "The match date is tomorrow, huh?" Yuzu reads the information on her Duel Disk. "Mine is today in the afternoon" Yuya states. "Mine is tomorrow" Gongenzaka tells them. "Gongenzaka…Who are you playing against?" Yuzu asked. Gongenzaka show them his opponent on his Duel Disk, Gen Ankokuji. "Ankokuji?!" Yuzu surprised. "This must be fate…" Gongenzaka claims. "Mine's right after this!" Futoshi states. "Mine's after that!" Ayu states. "Alright! Today, we'll be cheering for Futoshi, Ayu and Yuya!" Yuzu declares. "What about you Sora?" Tatsuya asks. "It's tomorrow. My opponent is from LDS" Sora states. "LDS? Who is it?" Yuzu asks. "Shun…Kurosaki…" Sora reads on his Duel Disk. Yuzu and Yuya gasps in shock when they hear that. "It's him!" Sora states as he shows them his Duel Disk. Yuya gasps as he remembers his encounter with Kurosaki. "This person is Shun Kurosaki…" Yuya said. "Yuya Sakaki, it seems you're my opponent" A voice calls out to Yuya. Everyone turn to see the three Hokuto, Masumi and Yaiba looking at them. "Masumi! Masumi, tell me! Why is Shun Kurosaki listed as an LDS member?" Yuya asks her. "What are you talking about?" Masumi confused. "He's been part of our group from the start" She states. "Huh?!" Yuya shocked. "From the start…?" Yuzu confused. "Sora…Shiunin…" Kurosaki reads.
A litter while later "Now then, in the third court, our first match of the Junior Championships, You Show Duel School Futoshi Harada versus Smiling Duel School's Takeshi Shimuzu is going on now!" The Reporter announces as Futoshi's Duel was going on with Fudoshi has 900 LP while Takeshi has 2200 LP. Fudoshi controls Doodle Beast – Stego (ATK: 1200) and Takeshi controls Red Mask (ATK: 1600). "Futoshi! Stick with it!" Mr. Harada cheers. "Futoshi!" Mrs. Harada cheers. "Takeshi! Fight!" A women cheers. "Get 'em!" A man cheers. "Let's go! Battle Phase! I attack Doodle Beast – Stego with Red Mask!" Takeshi declares. "Takeshi declares an attack with his Ace Monster!" The Reporter announces. "I activate the Trap Card: Doodlebook - Uh uh uh!" Futoshi declares. "It negates an attack at a "Doodle Beast" monster!" He states and cartoon hand came out of the card and stopped Red Mask's attack. "Nice one, Futoshi!" Mr and Mrs Harada cheers. "I end my turn here!" Takeshi states. "I'll make you shiver!" Futoshi states. "My turn!" He declares and draws Doodle Beast – Tyranno. "Got it!" Futoshi exclaims. "I can Release 1 "Doodle Beast" monster to Advance Summon the level 8 Tyranno!" He states. "I Release Doodle Beast – Stego!" Futoshi declares and Stego disperse and Futoshi bounces on the field. "The Solid Vision in the Junior Class is the softest and the most sponge-like of the three classes" The Reporter states. "Come! Doodle Beast – Tyranno!" Futoshi calls out as he lands on Tyranno's head (ATK: 2400). "Futoshi! You're so cool!" Mr and Mrs Harada cheers. "I activate Tyranno's effect!" Futoshi declares. "When this card is successfully Advance Summoned: I can destroy on monster my opponent controls, and it gains half its ATK until the end of this turn!" He explains as Tyranno whacks Red Mask with its tail (Tyanno's ATK: 3200). "Battle Phase! I attack directly with Tyranno!" Futosho declares and Tyranno attacks Takeshi. I got…the shivers…" Takeshi said as he bounces (Takeshi's LP: 0). "And the match is decided! The winner is Futoshi Harada!" The reporter decalres. "I did it!" Futoshi cheers. Afterwards, "Well done, Futoshi!" Shuzo congratulates him. "This will be a victory to remember at You Show!" He states. "You gave me shivers, Futoshi" Yuzu tells him. "Heheh, no problem! Futoshi said. "Don't let your guard down, Futoshi" Gongenzaka reminds him . There's a proverb that says "Don't let your guard down even after a victory." This is a warning to victors from the deceased" he tells Futoshi. "Gon-chan, you're sound like an old man!" Sora responds. "Don't call me old!" Gongenzaka exclaims.
"Ayu is up next!" Yuya reminds Ayu. "Yep!" Ayu exclaims. "I think my opponent is from LDS…" She says. "LDS?" Shuzo repeats. Just as Ayu shows her team-mates the opponent's identity, said opponent appears before them from a distance: a kid wearing a hoodie.
