"The Maiami Championship has finally begun! At the event, qualifiers from each school within the city, including LDS, have gathered! And when I was suddenly singled out from all of those candidates to give the oath of fair play, I…" Yuzu recalls the opening ceremony. "I want to be a great Pro Duelist who people will be proud of like Yusho Sakaki! I want to be a Duelist who can make myself, and everyone else enjoy Dueling even more!" Yuzu declares. "I'm so moved Yuzu! Everyone, go for the gold just like Yuzu! Burning!" Shuzo exclaims. "And that means it's time for me, You Show Duel School's Number One!" Fudoshi states as he recalls his Duel against Takeshi Shimuzu. "Battle Phase! I attack directly with Tyanno!" Futoshi declares and Tyranno attacks Takeshi. I got…the shivers…" Takeshi said as he bounces (Takeshi's LP: 0). "How'd like that? I gave my opponent the shivers perfectly!" Futoshi states. "You're up next, Ayu! Do your best!" Yuzu states. Just as Ayu prepares herself for her duel, which is the next one scheduled, her opponent appears before her and the rest of You Show Duel School's participants.
A while later "Here we go…All right, change complete!" Ayu finalising her preparations. "Ayu's really getting into it!" Yuzu notes Ayu's confidence. "Well that's because of my shiver-inducing victory! Of she'd get into it!" Fudoshi claims and Yuya chuckles. "Teacher!" A voice calls out and Shuzo turned to see Ayu's Parents. "Thank you for taking care of our daughter!" Mrs Ayukawa thanks Shuzo. "Ayu's mother and father!" Shuzo said. "Ayu's cute today as well" Mr Ayukawa swoons as he looks threw his video-camera. "Hey! You need to at least say hello to Teacher as well!" Mrs Ayukawa scold her husband. "No, it's quite fine. Flim all you can sir!" Shuzo encourage them. "This is Ayu's big moment! With the Action Duel training she's received from our You Show Duel School, Ayu will be a star one day for sure!" He supports Ayu. "When that happens, footage from this match will be a national treasure!" Shuzo exclaims. "Ayu is already our star!" Mr Ayukawa claims. "Ayu! Look this way!" He calls out to his daughter, who turns to face the camera with a smile. "Th…this way…Aah! So cute!" Mr Ayukawa said. The You Show team wave to Ayu one last time before she takes to the audience "Jeez…" Ayu said. "What the heck is this?" Sora unenthusiastic asks.
"Now, into our next match for the Maiami Championship in the Junior Class!" The female host declares. "The next players are making their first appearances in the Junior Championship Ayu and Reira!" She announces. "I'm looking forward to finding out what kind of Duel they will show us! Especially as Reira is LDS' treasured child! Our expectations can only go up!" The female host states. "LDS?" Shuzo repeats. "Ayu! Don't you lose to those jerks from LDS! Win, no matter what! Hot-bloodied" He encourages her. Ayu nods "All right!" She exclaims as she turns to her opponent. "She's even cute when she gets serious!" Mr Ayukawa awes. "As Ayu heads to the Field full of energy, Reira is…!" The female host notes. "Huh?" She said as she looks at Reira. "I wonder what's wrong?" The female host wonders as she walks to Reira. "Could it be that you're nervous?" She asked Reira, Reira filches. "I wonder what's wrong with her opponent…" Yuya notices. "It looks like he's afraid of something doesn't it?" Gongenzaka notes. "Afraid of….Ayu?" Yuzu confused. "Well, an angry Ayu is scary enough to give anyone shivers…"Futoshi states. "Angry Ayu is scarily cute!" Mr Ayukawa said. "Give it a rest already!" Mrs Ayukawa tells her husband. "Reira, are you ready to start?" Reira hears Himika's voice; he looks up and sees her watching from behind one of the windows high up the stadium. Having seen his mother speak, he whites out "Umm…" The female host said. He gives the host a rag doll "Huh?" The female host confuse as Reira assumes his position to start the duel. "All right, I'll do my best!" Ayu exclaims. "Ayu! Fight on!" Ayu's supporters cheers.
"First, let's select the Action Field!" The female host states. "Action Field, On! This one is the Field Spell: Sun Valley!" She declares. "I hope that Ayu and Reira will duel here filled with energy!" The female host states. "Duelist locked in battle!" Ayu begins the Action Duel chant. but to her surprise, Reira simply walks past her "Kicking against the earth…"Reira utters the next line "…dancing in the air alongside their monsters! They storm through this Field!" Ayu reels off the next line energetically. "Behold…This is…" Reira struggles to remember the next line. "Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling! ACTION!" AYU impatiently barks the rest of the chant. "DUEL!" Both Duelists yells out. "All right, my turn!" Ayu starts. "I Summon Aquaactress Guppy from my hand!" She declares (ATK: 600). It appears to struggle in the conditions of the Action Field "Sorry for summoning you where you might get sunburned, Guppy…I'll put you in water right away!" Ayu apologizes. "Next, I active the Continuous Spell: Aquarium Stage from my hand!" She states, which submerges the field with water. "Aquarium Stage makes it so that WATER monsters I control cannot be destroyed by battle, except by another WATER monster" Ayu explains as Aquaactress Guppy becomes excited. "There's still more to come!" She states. "I activate the Continuous Spell: Aquarium Set!" She declares, which materializes a temple-shaped building and other features that make it look like the field is an aquarium. The audience are awed, and Ayu blushes a little. "Aquarium Set's effect raise the ATK of all "Aquaactress" monsters on the Field by 600!" She explains (Guppy's ATK: 1200). "And on top of that, I activate the Continuous Spell: Aquarium Lighting!" Ayu declares, which brings bubbles onto the field. "Aquarium Lighting doubles the ATK of "Aquaactress" monsters when they battle!" She explains. "I make a direct attack with Aquaactress Guppy!" Ayu declares, but the action is denied by her Duel Disk "Huh? Why is there an error?" She doesn't understand. "Ayu! You can't attack on the first turn!" The host calls out to her. "Ah, that's right! I messed up!" Ayu embarrass, while her parents adore her all the same "Even when she messes up, she's so cute!" Mr Ayukawa said. "Ayu, come on…" Tatsuya mutter. "She's klutzy enough to give me shivers!" Futoshi unhappy states. "Don't worry, Ayu!" Yuzu encourage her. "Failure is the first step towards success! Don't let it bother you and keep trying!" Gongenzaka encourage her. Ayu laugh in embarrassment while Reira just watched her. "Ayu! Everyone makes mistakes! Just stay calm and keep playing!" Shuzo encourage her. "Yes sir, Principal!" Ayu salutes. "I set one card…and end my turn!" She states.
"My turn, draw!" Reira said. "I activate the Spell Card: Shutter Layer 1 from my hand" He declares in a much softer tone. "This card completely copies one of my opponent's monsters. However, if that target monster leaves the Field, this card is destroyed" Reira explains. "I target Aquaactress Guppy" He states. Shutter Layer 1 thus assumes Aquaactress Guppy's physical form, with the shutter layer itself appearing to be a pair of spectacles on the body of Aquaactress Guppy (ATK: 600). The original Guppy, initially surprised, starts interacting with its clone. "Yay! My aquarium got more fish!" Ayu exclaims happily. "So that card can copy any monster, no matter how strong it is?" Tatsuya notes. "That might be a pretty strong card…" Futoshi notes. "Due to the effect of Aquarium Set, the ATK of "Aquaactress" monsters increases by 600" Reira states (Reira's Guppy's ATK: 1200). "I set one card and end my turn" He finishes.
"My turn! Draw!" Ayu declares. "I'm going to add more fish to my aquarium!" She's pleased. "I Summon Aquaactress Tetra!" Ayu declares (ATK: 300). "Due to the effect of the Continuous Spell: Aquarium Set, Tetra's ATK goes up by 600!" She states (Tetra's ATK: 900). "Its ATK went up, but…" Futoshi notices. "It can't compete with her opponent's Guppy copy…" Tatsuya notices. "When the two Guppies with equal ATK battle, both of them will have their ATK double by Aquarium Lighting…" Yuzu recalls Aquarium Lighting's effect. "So it'll just end up with a draw then?" Shuzo knows that it will apply to the copied Guppy as well. Before declaring battle "So in times like this…!" Ayu states. Ayu hitches on Aquaactress Tetra "You need an Action Card, right?" She said. "All right, let's head off and search for Action Cards!" Ayu declares as she starts search for an Action Card. "Where could it be…" She wonders as she looks around. "Found it!" Ayu exclaims as she finds one on a star-shaped structure. "Got an Action Card!" Ayu states as she grabs it. "I'm back! Ayu said as she returns to her original position. "Battle Phase! I use Aquaactress Guppy to attack Reira's Guppy!" Ayu declares. "And this moment, I activate the Action Spell: Sunshine Smile!" She states. "This card increase one monster's ATK by 400 during battle!" Ayu explains (Ayu's Guppy's ATK: 1600). "Now she'll be able to deal 400 points of damage to her opponent!" Futoshi says. "No, that's not right!" Tatsuya says. "Due to the effect of the Continuous Spell: Aquarium Lighting, when an "Aquaactress" monster battles, its ATK is doubled!" Ayu explains (Ayu's Guppy's ATK: 3200) (Reira's Guppy's ATK: 2400). "Go, Guppy!" She yells out. Aquaactress Guppy takes out its clone, causing him to lose 800 LP (Reira's LP: 3200). "Next up, I make a direct attack with Aquaactress Tetra!" Ayu declares and Tetra attacks (Reira's LP: 2300). "All right!" Ayu exclaims.
"She did it!" Mrs Ayukawa cheers. "Even her winning pose is cute!" Mr Ayukawa cheers. "What do you think? This is the practical application of Action Cards, You Show Duel School's Entertainment Dueling!" Shuzo asks them for their opinion. "Everyone in the audience! Anyone interested in joining our school, send your request to You Show Duel School!" He advertises. "Cut it out!" Yuya stops him. "Copy monsters…I had expected something better but it wasn't that impressive…" Sora wonders. "Aquarium Lighting and Sunshine Smiles only activates during battle. Guppy's ATK returns to normal" Ayu states (Guppy's ATK: 1200). "With this I end my turn" She said. "Then I guess I'll end my turn too…" Sora decides by leaving. "What's up, Sora? Nature calling?" Yuzu asks. "I'm going to check out the other areas to see if there are any Duelist who might be a threat to You Show Duel School" Sora says. "H-hey!" Yuzu tries to call out to him but to no avail. Meanwhile "My turn, draw" Reira begins his turn. "I activate the Spell Card: Shutter Layer 2" He said. "Cards on my opponent's Field cannot be affected by my opponent's card effects" Reira explains The aquarium is shut out in grayscale "Huh? My aquarium I just made is…!" Ayu cries out. Her "Aquaactress" monsters appear to struggle breathing "Guppy! Tetra!" Ayu calls out as their ATK points return to their original values (Guppy's ATK: 600) (Tetra's ATK: 300). "I activate the Spell Card: Shutter Layer 1 from my hand" Reira said. "That one again…!" Yuya exclaim. "I copy Aquaactress Guppy with this card" Reira states as Shutter Layer 1 once again assumes Aquaactress Guppy's physical form, with the shutter layer on itself. "My Guppy's ATK goes up due to Aquarium Set's effect" He states (Reira's Guppy's ATK: 1200). "Huh? But aren't all of her Continuous Spells negated?" Tatsuya confused. "That's not it. Only cards on Ayu's Field are unaffected by them" Yuzu points out. "Even though they're my Continuous Spell cards, they're only making my opponent stronger?!" Ayu bewildered at the turn of events. "That's unfair enough to give me shivers!" Futoshi claims. "Battle Phase. I attack Tetra with Guppy" Reira said; the cloned Guppy's ATK doubles due to Aquarium Lighting (Reira's Guppy's ATK: 2400), causing Allie to lose 2100 LP (Ayu's LP: 1900). "Ayu!" Ayu's Parents calls out. Ayu begins to lose heart "Ayu, Do your best!" Yuya cheers for her. "Hot-Blooded!" Shuzo exclaims. "Keep fighting!" Yuya cheers her on. "Ayu!" Mrs Ayukawa cheers. "You're cute, so you'll be okay!" Mr Ayukawa cheers. "You can do it!" Tatsuya and Futoshi cheers. "Ayu! Make a comeback! That's real entertainment!" Yuzu cheers. "That's the Spirit!" Gongenzaka cheers.
"Guys…" Ayu whispers. "That's right! I'm a member of You Show Duel School too!" She encourage herself. "I can make an comeback with Entertainment just like Yuzu!" Ayu promises. "My turn, draw!" She declares, and is pleased at her draw; it is Aquaactress Arowana. "I Release Guppy to Advance Summon Aquaactress Arowana!" Ayu declares. "When the copied monster leaves the Field, Shutter Layer 1 is destroyed" Reira not pleased, as his copied Guppy disintegrates due to Shutter Layer 1's effect. Arowana then appeared sitting on a stool with a pipe blowing bubbles (ATK: 2000). "Here's a big one!" Futoshi exclaims. "Well done! She sent the copy monster to the Graveyard with that Advance Summon! That's what I call two birds with one stone!" Shuzo pleased at the turnaround. "Battle Phase! I make a direct attack with Aquaactress Arowana!" Ayu declares. "All right!" Futoshi exclaims. "With this it's a complete comeback!" Tatsuya states. "Trap, Activate: Instant Shutter" Reira said. "When an opponent makes a direct attack, I can Special Summon this card to my Field as a copy of the attacking monster" He explains and a copy on Arowana appeared on his Field. "And with Aquarium Set's effect, Arowana's ATK goes up by 600" He states (Reira's Arowana's ATK: 2000). "Then I'll also activate…Trap: Aqua Story – Urashima!" Ayu decides. "By banishing two Level 4 or lower "Aquaactress" Monsters from my Graveyard, I make my opponent's monster's ATK 100!" She explains. "I banish Guppy and Tetra from my Graveyard!" Ayu declares. "To think she had that card ready…" Yuya comments. "She's gotten pretty good!" Gongenzaka comments. "Cards affected by Aqua Story – Urashima are unaffected by other effects that change their ATK this turn!" Ayu points out, and surges of bubbles covered Reira's Arowana, making it shrivel up (Reira's Arowana's ATK: 100). "I attack that old granny Arowana with my Aquaactress Arowana!" Ayu declares. Reira drops to the ground (Reira's LP: 400). "She did it! Nice one, Ayu!" Her supporters cheers. Buoyed by her team's encouragement "I end my turn with this" Ayu states. Himika was still looking on from behind a window when someone approaches behind her.
"My turn, draw" Reira said and draws a monster. He then looks up and sees that Reiji had joined Himika behind the same window where they're looking at the duel. "I summon C/C Critical Eye from my hand!" Reira proceed (ATK: 1400). "What's with that monster?" Tatsuya scared. "It's so spooky it's giving me the shivers…" Futoshi scared. "I activate Montage Fusion from my hand!" Reira declares. "I take a picture of the Arowana on my opponent's Field with this card's effect! And fuse the pictured Arowana and my C/C Critical Eye!" He explains. "Supreme ruler of the river of the shining scales, I offer you the power residing in my eye! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Cutting all with your blade of water! C/C/C Water Sword of Battle!" Reira chants (ATK: 2400). "Battle Phase! I attack Aquaactress Arowana with Water Sword of Battle!" He decalres. "Ayu's Arowana is going to be taken out!" Futoshi worried. "But Ayu has 1900 LP left! She'll be able to withstand 400 damage!" Tatsuya knows. But Reira knows otherwise. "When Water Sword attacks, it gains ATK equal to the combine ATK of all other WATER monsters on the Field!" Reira explains. "The only other WATER monster on the field is Ayu's Arowana!" Gongenzaka realizes. "With that additional 2000 ATK Water Sword's ATK becomes 4400!" Yuzu exclaims (Water Sword's ATK: 4400). "Then Ayu is…!" Yuya realizes. Once "Aquaactress Arowana" is destroyed, Allie falls on her back, taking enough damage to lose the duel (Ayu's LP: 0).
The Action Field disappears, and Reira gave a sign. "Teacher!" Mr Ayukawa shocked. "Don't worry! The Junior Class' Solid Vision is much softer than other classes'!" Shuzo explains to Ayu's bewildered parents. "Ayu, are you okay?" Yuzu asks as the rest of the team tend to Ayu, who is sitting up with her head down. "Sorry, everyone…I…I tried my hardest, but I lost" Ayu about to cry. "Ayu, If you lose today, you just have to win tomorrow! Believe in tomorrow's victory and take another step forward!" Yuzu voices encouragement. "That's right!" Gongenzaka agrees. "How many times do you think Yuzu has lost to me, the man Gongenzaka in the past?" He points out. "Hey! You didn't need to add that in! And after I said such a cool line too!" Yuzu annoyed. Ayu was able to laugh at the little argument despite still shedding tears. Meanwhile "Now then, how about an interview with our amazing victor, Reira?" The host said. "Reira, how do you feel right now?"She asked him, Reira stays silent. "Umm…this is an interview for the winner, so…" The host said, Reira then takes back his rag doll before leaving, much to the host's surprise. Tatsuya sees Reira approaching him "H-hey, you use Fusion Summoning too? Th-that really…cool" He's surprised. Reira walks past Tatsuya towards Reiji, who places a hand on his head. "Keep that up" Reiji encourages his sibling. "Brother…" Reira mutters. "To think that we'd lose to an LDS duelist…" Shuzo disappointed. "Principal, I'll avenge Ayu! This time I'll definitely beat LDS…and Masumi Koutsu!" Yuya,who is next to duel, vows. "All right! I'm counting on you!" Shuzo encouraged by Yuya's resolve. "Yuya, you're giving me shivers!" Futoshi said. "All right, let's head to the center court for Yuya's Duel!" Yuzu said. "Wait!" Yuya just realizes. "Hm?" Yuzu, Futoshi and Shuzo said. "Where's Sora?" Yuya wonders. "He went off to go watch some other Duels earier…" Yuzu says. "Good grief…" Yuya disappointed to hear. Sora was on a high railing at the stadium, overlooking the court turned into a forest-like maze by an Action Field Spell Card "Hmm…There really aren't any interesting duelist like Yuzu around…" Sora wonders. Then Sora's Duel Disk rang, to see that Yuya was calling him "What's this?" Sora wonders. "Hello, hello!" He answers. "Sora! Get over here, my Duel's about to start!" Yuya angrily asks him. "Well, if my disciple Yuya is going to Duel, I'm going to have to watch as his master" Sora comment. On the way, he passes Shun Kurosaki without looking.
