Future City Heartland
"The Maimi Junior Youth Championship. My first round was the first Duel between two Pendulum users. Sawatari and I fought each other with all of our strength" Yuzu recaps. "We…did it!" Yuya, Gongenzaka and Sora cheers, and the audience cheers and gave their applause. "Then, I thought that this might be the kind of Duel I've always wanted. An Entertainment Duel that brought smiles to everyone, just like Uncle's. Just maybe…I…Just a little bit…Have I gotten a bit closer to you. Uncle?" Yuzu narrates. In the Leo Corporation observation room Reji looks at a screen displaying Yosenju Shinchu L, Mayosenju Daibak, and "Yosenju Shinchu R.
"That Pendulum match was amazing wasn't it?" A girl asked. "I'm still shaking from it!" Another girl states. "Me too! Dueling really is the best!" A man states. "If it start off this exciting, what'll happen next?!" Another man wonders. "That Pendulum Summon was so awesome!" A girl states. "This year's tournament is too crazy!" A man states. "You've got that right!" Another man agrees. "Next up is today's third match! You Show Duel School's Sora Shiunin vs Leo Duel School's Shun Kurosaki!" Nico announces. "Everyone, please, your applause for these two Duelist!" He tells everyone. Sora waves from down in the stadium to the cheering crowd, and Shuzo got fired up "Sora!" He cheers. "Make this our third win in a row!" Gongenzaka tells Sora. "Beat those" Ayu said. "LDS guys!" Tate and Fudoshi cheers. "Okay! Leave it to me! I'll satisfy the whole crowd just like Yuzu!" Sora reassures them. Everyone in smiles and cheers for Sora. Kurosaki walks up, and Yuzu's loses her smile "Shun Kurosaki…" She whispers. "Masumi said that he's always been a member of LDS, but…Kurosaki it the culprit for the serial attacks on LDS" Yuya states
(Flashback)
"Masumi knew that and should have fought Kurosaki once…But when I chased after her, nobody was there. And when I met her at the opening ceremony…" He states. "Masumi! Masumi, tell me! Why is Shun Kurosaki listed as an LDS's member?" Yuya asked her. "What are you talking about? He's always been one of us" Masumi states.

"Just what happened to Masumi?" Yuya wonders. "It's almost like her memories were rewritten!" He states. "That's right…" Yuzu agrees." He fought LDS in front of my very eyes" She states
(Flashback)
She remembers running from the LDS members and Sawtari's Father into an alleyway, she ran towards Kurosaki, who had his duel disk activated and Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius on this field. "LDS! Then I'll be your opponent!" Kurosaki states. "Huh? What's going on!?" Yuzu wonders. "Could he be…?!" One of the LDS members exclaims. "Xyz Summon!" Kurosaki declares and a silhouette of Raidraptor - Rise Falcon appeared and an big gust of wind, Yuzu was blasted into a wall, and falls unconscious in some rubbish bags.

"And that incredibly powerful Xyz monster…It's his us with real shockwaves…!" Yuzu states. "Sora, be careful! Don't let your guard down!" She cautions him. "Don't worry, I'll be fine!" Sora reassures Yuzu. "This time I'll be entertain you, Yuzu! Look forward to it!" He states. Meanwhile, Kurosaki remember his meeting with Nakajima

"This is a Pendulum Card made for you. Please take it" Nakajima offers Kurosaki. "Knowing you, you should be able to use it better than Sawatari" He suggested. "I have no need for it" Kurosaki replies and walked away. "You!" Nakajima calls out.

In the Leo Corporation control room, Nakajima was stands with Reiji and Reira "You even went out of your way to make it for him, President…" Nakajima laments. "It's fine. Rather than the potential of Pendulum Summoning…I'm more interested in seeing the full extent of his abilities" Reiji replies.
"Today's third event starts now! First up is selecting the Field Spell!" Nico announces, and the card spins and reveals itself. "The Field Spells is Neo Heartland City!" Nico declares, which cause Kurosaki to react in shock and Sora shows a brief moment of surprise. "This is the perfect stage for the two who will show us the future of Dueling!" Nico states. "Now then, Action Field On! Field Spell: Neo Heartland City, activate!" He declares. The Field Spell Card activates, and the projector aligns itself and floods the area with light "Heartland…" Kurosaki whispers. Heartland City, a sprawling landscape of buildings glowing in neon colours at night, finishes materializing, with Sora and Kurosaki standing on opposite sides of the river. "It's so pretty!" Ayu gasps. "It's like we're inside a sci-fi movie!" Tatsuya liken it. "I-it's so futuristic, it…gives me the shivers!" Futoshi states. "I'd be more excited if it were a town of sweet, though…But it looks the crowd is enjoying it, so I guess it's fine if it's not" Sora states. "Right?" He asked Kurosaki, But Kurosaki was clenching his fist with an expression of fury. "It seems he's taking a liking to it" Reiji muses. "So you mean this Field is...?!" Nakajima asked. "It's just a modest present from me to him…In order to light his fighting spirit" Reiji replies. "What's wrong? Do you have a stomach ache? Hey, will you really be able to Duel me?" Sora asked. Kurosaki looks up sharply "You should be worry about yourself first! If you really are a true Fusion user…I will show you no mercy!" He retorts. Kurosaki activates his Duel Disk coolly. "Interesting, aren't you?" Sora comments as he activates his Duel Disk.
Sora turns to the crowd "All right, everyone! My Entertainment Duel is about to begin! Cheer for me just like you did for Yuzu!" He tells them. "We'll cheer as hard as we can!" Shuzo responds. "If you win, you'll get all the pancakes you can eat!" Yoko tells Sora. "Go! Go! Sora!" The kids cheer him on too. Sora nods "Then, with that, let's get started!" He tells the crowd. "Duelist locked in battle!" Sora chants. But Kurosaki doesn't respond, simply waiting. "Huh? Hey! You're really killing the mood, you know?" Sora protesting. "If I say "Marco," you have to say "Polo!" It's called call-and-response! Got it?" He states. Kurosaki still doesn't reply. "He's a lost cause" Sora decides. "Then everyone, with me! Let's take it from the top!" He tells the crowd. "Duellist locked in battle!" Sora chants. "Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters! They storm through this Field!" The crowd chants. "Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Duelling!" Nico chants. "ACTION!" The crow cheers. "DUEL!" Sora and Kurosaki finishes. The Action Cards scatters. "The audience's call-and-response was perfect! Our third match today is just getting better and better…Just how will it turn out!?" Nico declares.
"I'll go first! I Summon from my hand a very cute bear monster, Fluffal Bear!" Sora declares (ATK:1200). "So cute!" The girls and the children all call it. "Isn't it?" Sora replies. "But I've got even cuter ones coming up!" He states. "When there is a Fluffal monster on my Field, I can Special Summon these monsters from my hand!" Sora explains. "Two sheep monsters that'll make you squeal! I double Special Summon two Fluffal Sheeps!" He states (DEF: 800x2) "So cute!" The girls and the children called them, though Kurosaki doesn't even react. "I set one card and end my turn" Sora states. "Now then, you're up!" He tells Kurosaki. "Let's both give the audience the greatest show!" Sora suggested, before chuckling. "The greatest show?" Kurosaki asked. "Once, Dueling was the greatest show in my hometown as well..." He states and he closes his eyes. "That's right...the greatest..." Kurosaki murmuring. "Whether they were children or adults, everyone enjoyed it without a care. It was a town where Duelist were adored by the public. Until that day...On that day, our enemy attacked us without warning and turned out town into a battlefield" He explains. "Enemy? Battlefield? What's that? What are you going on about?" Sora asked. "That man isn't making any sense!" Gongenzaka protest. "That's right! Back then, he...!" Yuya gasped as he remembers.

"This is MY battlefield!" Kurosaki clams.

"Battlefield!?" Yuzu repeats in confusion. "He suddenly appeared in front of me and Masumi..." Yuya explains. "Now that I think about it, where is Kurosaki from?" Hokuto wonders. "I've never asked him, even though we've known each other for so long..." Yaiba admits. Sora wasn't impressed "Jeez...You really are oblivious, aren't you? I even went out of my way to play three cute monsters to liven the match up...Don't go and ruin it!" He complaint. "I said we should both give them the greatest show, didn't I?" Sora comments. "If I go "Ka-boom", then you've got to follow up with a "Ba-bang" or it won't...!" He states.
"My turn" Kurosaki says, drawing a card. Sora frowns irritably. "We were thrown into disarray by the sudden assaults...Just mounting a defense took everything we had!" Kurosaki muse. "Are you even trying?" Sora asked him, but Kurosaki ignores him "I Summon Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius from my hand!" He said (ATK: 1300). As the Winged Beast appears on the field, Yuzu gasps as she remembers the monster from her encounter with Kurosaki "It's that monster from back then...!" She gasped. "Battle! I attack Fluffal Bear with Vanishing Lanius!" Kurosaki declares. Vanishing Lanius slashes at Fluffal Bear and destroys it, though Sora doesn't even flinch (Sora's LP: 3900). " ..." One of the girls in the crowd cries. "I'll save it for you right now!" Sora reassures her. "Trap card, open! Fluffal Crane!" He declares. "This card returns a "Fluffal" monster that was destroyed by battle to my hand" Sora explains. The crane snatches up Fluffal Bear "And lets me draw one card from my Deck!" He adds as he draws another card. He draws Frightfur Factory "You've got to react like this, got it?" Sora tells Kurosaki. Sora pulls a cute face to give an example, but Kurosaki ignores him "Because a "Raidraptor" monster declared an attack this turn, I activate the Spell Card: Raidraptor – Symbol" He states. "I can add one "Raidraptor" monster from my Deck to my hand" Kurosaki explains. "I add Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius" He states. "And due to the previously Summoned Vanishing Lanius' monster effect, I can Special Summon one more Vanishing Lanius this turn!" Kurosaki states. "I Summon it in Defense Position!" He declares (DEF: 1600). "It's nice that were able to respond so quickly, but there's no point in hiding behind those monsters, you know?" Sora comments. "I set one card and end my turn" Kurosaki said. "Both players have ended one turn with two monsters of the same name! At this point, neither one has taken a decisive lead!" Nico recaps. "I wonder what twist this battle will take!" He wonders.
"An amazing match that will leave hands sweating with excitement!" Nico calls it. "Will the goddess of victory smile upon Sora Shiunin, or perhaps Shun Kurosaki!?" He wonders. "Isn't that obvious? The one who entertains the audience more, of course! And I'll make sure they have their fill!" Sora replies. "Let's go! My turn, draw!" He declares. "I summon Edge Imp Sabres from my hand" Sora said (ATK: 1200). "When this card is Normal Summon, I can return one "Fluffal" monster on my Field to my hand…Then I can Special Summon a different "Fluffal" monster from my hand!" He explains. He returns one of his Sheep, and the scissors descend on Sheep… "Now, your applause, please as our very cute sheep…" Sora said as the scissors before delicately clipping its fur until it transforms into Fluffal Bear. "In no time, turns into…" Sora states (ATK: 1200). "It's Mr. Bear!" A Girl cheers. "Bear!" A boy cheers. "So cute!" another boy cheers. "It's back!" Another girl cheers. "Where's Mr. Sheep?" The girl, who cried before, tearfully asked. "Mr. Sheep is right here!" Sora reassured her as he holds up the card. "When he returns to my hand, I get to add a certain card from my Deck to my hand because of his effect! That card is the Spell Card: Polymerization!" He states. Kurosaki blanches in shock to see the card.
Spotlights snap on Sora as he stands at the top of a flight of stairs "Ladies and Gentleman!" He calls. The spotlights snap on his monsters too "What's this!? Isn't this Yuzu Hiragi's very own catchphrase!?" Nico asked. "That guy..." Yuzu sighs in exasperations. "He really likes does like you, Yuzu" Yoko comments. "What you're all about to witness is a real, full-fledged Fusion Summon!" Sora explains as he holds up the Polymerization card. Masumi was offended "What? Is he trying to say LDS' Fusion is fake?" She asked. "Now let's get to it! Activate!" Sora states as Reiji watches. "I'm going to fuse Edge Imp Sabres and Fluffal Bear!" He declares. "Claw of the demon and fangs of beast! Become one and reveal to us your new form! Fusion Summon! Come forth, horrifying beast that shreds all! Frightfur Bear!" Sora chants. The "Frightful" bursts out of its skin (ATK: 2200). "What School?! You Show Duel School!" Shuzo cheers. "Shivers!" Futoshi cried out. "Time to battle! I attack Vanishing Lanius with Bear!" Sora declares. Bear sends Vanishing Lanius flying with a single punch, dissolving it. Kurosaki shields himself from the backlash (Kurosaki's LP: 3100). "He did it!" Fudoshi cheers. "He took him down 900 LP in one shot!" Tatsuya adds. "I didn't just do that!" Sora adds. "Don't forget, that Frightfur Bear has the ability to equip monsters it destroys in battle!" He reminds the crowd. "Oh yeah, that's right!" Fudoshi remembers. "So then that means Vanishing Lanius' ATK will be added to Bear's?" Ayu asked as Vanishing Lanius reforms into an energy form, which Bear swallows whole (Frightfur Bear's ATK: 3500). "And it goes up to 3500 ATK!" Tatsuya gasped. "So man shivers!" Fudoshi said as he grabs Tatsuya in excitement.
"Trap activate! Raidraptor – Return!" Kurosaki declares. "This card returns one "Raidraptor" monster destroyed on battle to my hand!" He states. Bear disgorges the energy, which reforms around the card in Kurosaki's hand (Frightfur Bear's ATK: 2200). "It's got taken back!" Ayu gasps. "To think he had something like that ready..." Tatsuya gasped. "As expected of LDS, we should say?" Gongenzaka sarcastically comments. "Well, if you didn't do this much, it wouldn't be any fun!" Sora replies. "I set one card and end my turn" He states. "It is as if they're one with their Decks! They're trading blows as easily as if they were just drawing breath! I have a feeling this third match is going to be an amazing one! In fact, I can't deny that it's already amazing at this point in the game!" Nico gasps. "Well, isn't that all counting on him?" Sora comments as he takes out a lollipop. "You said you'd show me no mercy, but you'd better start trying now..." He said. Catching the lollipop in his mouth, he smiles "Or could it be you're so focused on defending yourself that you can't fight back?" Sora wonders.
"At first that was the case...We could hardly manage to protect ourselves against such an overwhelming foe..." Kurosaki replies. Sora's face loses its smile "There he goes again..." A man states. "What could he be talking about?" A women wonders. "But we didn't even have any organized resistance...Pushed to our wit's end, we started losing comrades one by one...In those hopeless battles, we learned...the only way to survive was to win!" Kurosaki explains. Reiji clenches his fingers as he holds his hands in his lap and Reira takes notice. "Only those who bore a steeled will to win live through that hell!" Kurosaki declares. Sora gets a determined look on his face upon hearing this. "My turn!" Kurosaki declares and draws; it's his third Vanishing Lanius. "I Summon Vanishing Lanius from my hand!" Kurosaki said (ATK: 1300). "On the turn this card is successfully Summoned, I can Special Summon another Vanishing Lanius from my hand!" He states. He Special Summons the second Vanishing Lanius again (ATK: 1300). "He has three Vanishing Lanius!?" Sora shocked. "This is...just like that time..." Yuzu gasped. "I Overlay the three Level 4 Vanishing Lanius!" Kurosaki declares. "Obscured falcon, raise your claws sharpened by adversity! Spread your wings of rebellion! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 4! Raidraptor - Rise Falcon!" He chants (ATK: 100). "That man was an Xyz user?!" Gongenzaka gasped. "There's no mistaking it! That same monster is what took out an entire LDS top team back then…" Yuzu confirmed. "But how did he do it with a monster with only 100 ATK?" Yuya asked as Rise Falcon circles the field. "So this is you getting serious? You've got to be kidding me!" Sora comments. "This monster can attack all Special Summoned monsters on the Field" Kurosaki explains. Even if you can attack all of my monsters with just 100 ATK…" Sora scoffs. "Enjoy that carefree thinking while you can" Hokuto comments. "You'll be crying any second now…" Yaiba comments. "Once you realize how amazing Rise Falcon is!" Masumi finishes. As Rise Falcon circles around "Be careful, Sora! He's dangerous!" Yuzu urges. "Don't worry, I'll be fine!" Sora reassures Yuzu as he waves.
"I activate Rise Falcon's effect!" Kurosaki declare. "By using one Overlay Unit, it gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all of my opponent's Special Summoned monsters!" He explains. One of Rise Falcon's Overlay Units explodes in front of Frightfur Bear with 2200 ATK and Fluffal Sheep with 400. Flames surround Rise Falcon (Rise Falcon's ATK: 2700). "An ATK of 2700?!" Sora exclaims. "It's passed Bear!" Tatsuya gasped. The sheer power of the effect shocks the entire stadium into stunned silence. "Battle!" Kurosaki declares. "Raidraptor - Rise Falcon! Rend and tear all our enemies! Brave Claw Revolution!" He orders. It dive-bombs Sora's monsters and violently beheads them "Mr. Sheep!" The girl cried. Sora was thrown backwards (Sora's LP: 3400). "A monster that back then sent me and all members of that LDS team flying. A monster that created real shockwaves in that ally without any Real Solid Vision System…Sora's fighting it right now…!" Yuzu recalls as she remembers her own experience with Rise Falcon. "Wh-what just happened!? Fluffal Sheep and Bear were taken out in an instant…!" Nico asked in shock as Sora lies at the top of the damaged staircase. Sora struggles to prop himself "I set two cards and end my turn" Kurosaki states. "At this time, Rise Falcon's effect ends and it's ATK returns to normal" He explains as it settles to hover behind him (Rise Falcon's ATK: 100). Sora grimaces, wiping his cheek "Now you've done something pretty interesting!" He comments. "Well then I guess I have to…" Sora said as he leaps to his feet. "Go all out for a bit against you" Sora states, and he pulls a psychotic grin.
