"Battle. I attack Idaten the Conqueror Star with Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale" Yuzu declares. As Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale prepares to launch its attack "Strike of the Whirlwind Violation!" She declare and destroys Idaten and abruptly reducing Isao Kachidoki's LP to 0 (Kachidoki's LP: 0). In the darkened stadium "Th-the winner is Yuzu Hiragi…" Nico shakily announces. "G-good job, Yuzu…" Shuzo weakly congratulates her. "I'm so scared I've got the shivers" Futoshi terrified. "Yuzu…" Ayu terrified. "Seems like a different person…" Tatsuya terrified. Yuya had a nervous face on him. "Kachidoki!" Yuzu calls out as she runs up to him. "A-are you okay?" Yuzu asks him offering her hand, but Kachidoki flinches and slaps Yuzu's hand away. Looking up at her friends nervous faces "What is this…This feeling…" Yuzu wonders.
In the observation room "These are the results of the Miami Championship Junior Youth matches thus far!" Nico announce as the picture of Yuzo, Gongenzaka, Kachidoki and Yuzu appeared on the screen. "The next player…" Nico state. "Yuzu Hiragi has Ruri's card…" Kurosaki observe and turns to leave. "Where are you going?" Reiji asks Kurosaki. "To meet her!" Kurosaki states. "Not now. No matter the reason, I'll have you refrain from action that would impede on the progression of the tournament" Reiji warns Kurosaki. Kurosaki scoffs. "Do not forget why I am holding this tournament and what I will be using it for" Reiji reminds Kurosaki. Kurosaki signs and exits the room. "Just in case, I will put Kurosaki under surveillance" Nakajima offers. "Good" Reiji said. "Pardon the abruptness, but we have a change of schedule!" Nico announces, catching their attention. "Regarding the upcoming third match…Due to the absence of LDS' Hokuto Shijima, Kirigakure Cooking School's Michio Mokota wins by default!" Nico announces. "Absence?" Reiji surprises. "President! About 3 hours ago, we detected a powerful summoning energy within Miami City" One of the technicians explains. "What method was it?" Reiji inquires. "Fusion. We've found the cameras that detected the energy as well" The technician states. "Please look as this" He asks Reiji, and the screen shows the mysterious boy advancing on Houkuto "The Xyz Course's Hokuto Shijima!" Nakajima recognizes. Holding up his Duel Disk, the boy causes a crimson light to emit from it, and when it fades, Hokuto was gone. The boy picks up a card and waves it, then turns and leaves. "Rewind it" Reiji orders. "Yes sir" The technician and the footage was rewound. "Stop" Reiji said and the footage stop and was enhances to see the boy's face "That's…You Show's Duel School's…" Nakajima gasp upon seeing his face, which resembles Yuya's.
In the LDS Center Court on the seventh day of the tournament "Now then, it's then seventh day of the Miami Championship!" Nico announces. The results showing Olga's win against Haruno Mihara fades away "And up next in this Second Stadium, we have…You Show Duel School's Yuya Sakaki versus…Duel Girls Club's Mikiyo Naname!" Nico announces. Yuya enters the arena confidently "Yuya!" The cheers. "Burning! Hot-blooded!" Shuzo cheers. Yuya waves to them "Do your best!" Ayu cheers. "You better give the shivers!" Futoshi cheers. "I know you can do it!" Tatsuya cheers. Yuzu remains quiet and depressed. Yuya was discouraged by Yuzu's expression. "Mikiyo! Nanami!" The crowd cheers. "Duel Time starts now!" Namame tells her fellow club members. "Are you all ready?" She asks them. "With your best self…" Namame states. "And your best smile!" Her club members said, putting their hands together "Duel Girl's Club, Go!" They cheers. Lights snap on as the members of the club skate into the arena, with Namame emerging last. "Namame!" Her fans cheers. "Here I go!" Namame greets her fans and they gave a big cheer. "All of our fans, thank you for coming!" Namame thanks them. "Today I'll Special Summon all of your hearts too!" She tells them and her fans cheers. "As expected of the Idol Duelist…She makes getting her fans excited seems like child's play!" Yuya looks around. "But I'm the poster boy of You Show Duel School! I'll show you real Entertainment Dueling!" He declares.
Meanwhile, "We have discovered the mysterious boy inside the First Stadium" One of the technicians said. "Yuya Sakaki is starting his match in the Second Stadium" Another technician states "There's no mistaking him. That's the boy from yesterday" Reiji muses. "The scheduled match for Miami National's First Stadium has last year's championship winner, Yu Sakuragi, who then was qualified for Youth leagues" Nakajima explains. "So his target is Yu Sakuragi, then?" Reiji realizes. He gets up from his chair and moves to leave the room "Where are you headed?" Nakajima asks. "To Miami Stadium" Reiji explains "Make sure that Kurosaki doesn't go there" He warns them. "Understood" Nakajima replies.
In Yuya and Namame's Duel "I attack with Gellenduo! Angel Loop!" Namame declares and Gellenduo, powered up by two Freya, Spirit of Victory, attacks and destroys Performapal Odd-Eyes Miscellanea (Yuya's LP: 2900). "I end my turn here!" Namame winks (Namame's LP: 4000). "This is a very close match! Both of the players are even in skill!" Nico comments. "We may be tied in Dueling skills, with everyone's support, I've got the strength of a hundred!" Namame states. She waves to the crowd "Everyone, make sure you enjoy every second of this Duel!" Namame tells them. "Strength of hundred? Please" Yuya scoffs. "I'm going to definitely give everyone the best Duel they can enjoy!" He remarks. "Stay calm and burn on, Yuya! I'll transfer you the hot-bloodied power of a hundred myself!" Shuzo tells Yuya. "And I, the man, Gongenzaka, will cheer with the power of a hundred men!" Gongenzaka explains. "With both of us, you've got the power of two hundred!" Both of them said. "Yay!" The kids cheers in the backround. "Yay…" Yuzu, half-hearted, follows up and she looks at the Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale card "Yesterday's Duel…" Yuzu recalls what happened yesterday.

Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale attacks and destroys Idaten the Conqueror Star. Kachidoki slaps Yuzu's hand away.

"Why did that happen?" Yuzu wonders.
At the main stadium "Sakuragi has Xyz Summoned Hierophant of Prophecy! He used it to finish his match today!" The announcer explains. Sakuragi himself enters a back area of the stadium, and he sees the mysterious boy and his companion walking towards him. "Are you the one who called me here?" Sakuragi asks. But the boy didn't reply, ripping off his concealing overcoat and throwing out his arm in a challenge. Sakuragi seems intimidated "The one who called you was me" Reiji intervenes, explaining. "President?!" Sakuragi surprised. Reiji steps in between them "I apologize, but you should leave now" Reiji ask Sakuragi. "Your Duel today was splendid" He congratulates Sakuragi. "I expect more from you in the future" Reiji tells him. "Th-thank you…" Sakuragi said and turns to leave. "Hold it!" The mysterious boy protests, but Reiji swiftly grabs his arm, adorned with a similar bracelet to Yuya's "Let go of me!" The boy tells Reiji. "Hurry up and go!" Reiji orders Sakuragi. Sakuragi quickly flees, and the boy wrenches his arm free "If you're going to get in my way, then I'll take you out first!" He tells Reiji. "No, leave that to me" His companion asks him, shedding his own overcoat. "Stay out of this, Barrett!" The boy tells him. "The duty given to me by the Professor is to protect you from ant sparks that may fall upon you" Barrett replies. Scowling, the boy begins to walk away "This Professor you speak of is Leo Akaba, correct?" Reiji asks, causing the boy to stop short "If so, then you two are…" Reiji states. Neither foe answers, Barrett strapping on a shield-like Duel Disk and activating its sword-shaped blade. Reiji straps on his own Duel Disk "Seal off this area. Do not let anyone in here until I you otherwise" Reiji orders. He activates his Duel Disk, and the boy sits on the side.
"DUEL!" Both Duelists yell. "First strike takes the advantage! I'm going first!" Barrett states. "I activate Continuous Spell: Beastborg Fusioner!" He declares. "Once per turn, I can Fusion Summon a Beastborg monster!" Barrett explains. "As I expected…" Reiji states. "I fuse Panther Warrior and Dark Sentinel from my hand!" Barrett declares. "Ferocious black panther and guardian of sacred darkness, merge as one and let forth your valiant roar! Fusion Summon! Come forth. Beastborg Panther Predator!" He chants (ATK: 1600). In the control room "We're detecting a summoning energy almost equivalent to yesterdays!" A technician states. "I activate Panther Predator's effect!" Barrett declares. "Once per turn, I can deal damage equal to half of Panther's ATK to my opponent!" He explains and Panther Predator blasts a red beam at Reiji, who blocks the beam with his Duel Disk (Reiji's LP: 3200). "I set two cards and end my turn" Barrett states. "He's already steadily wearing down his opponent's life from the first turn. A by-the-books strategy…" The boy remarks. Nakajima contacted Reiji "President, there's no mistaking it. Your opponents are Duelists from the Fusion Dimension!" He confirms. "I know" Reiji replies.
"My turn. Draw!" Reiji declares and draws D/D Lilith. "I activate the Continuous Spell: Dark Contract with the Swamp King!" He declares. "This card inflicts 1000 points of damage to me during my own Standby Phase!" Reiji explains. "Oh? Damaging yourself?" Barrett intrigued. "But in exchanged for that, once per turn, I am able to Fusion Summon a Fiend-type monster" Reiji explains. "The monsters I choose to fuse are D/D Lilith and D/D Cerberus!" He declares, holding up the cards. The mysterious boy reacts in shock at the sight of the Cerberus card. "Hellhound which bares its fangs! Seductress of the dark night! In a whirlpool of light from the realm of the dead, become one and give birth to a new king! Fusion Summon! Be born D/D/D Flame King Genghis!" Reiji chants (ATK: 2000). "Battle! I attack Panther Predator with Flame King Genghis! Fire Stroke!" He declares. Flames envelop the greatsword of Genghis and it slashes through Panther Predator (Barrett's LP: 3600). "But I activated this Continuous Trap before the battle began! Beastborg Medal of the Shield!" Barrett declares. "This card gains a Medal Counter for every 100 points if battle damage I take!" He explains. Four medals materialize on the shield that appears "And when Panther Predator is destroyed, I can Special Summon its Fusion Materials from the Graveyard!" Barrett adds that in addition. "I Special Summon Panther Warrior and Dark Sentinel!" He declares. Panther Warrior and Dark Sentinel emerge from the Graveyard portal (ATK: 2000) (ATK: 1500). "So you had already planned for its destruction…" Reiji muses. "I end my turn" He declares. Barrett smirks and get ready.
Adjusting his glasses "Unafraid of the risks needed to be taken for victory…It seems you already have an extensive amount of combat experience" Reiji comments. Barrett is silent, remembering an incident in Heartland.
(Flashback)
He led three of his fellows into a Widespread Ruin trap, an incident implied to have caused the loss of his left eye. He then recalls meeting the mysterious boy in the corridors of Academia "I'm going to Standard even if you try to stop me!" The boy claims. "I will not stop you. I will go with you as well" Barrett replies. "You're the first guard who hasn't tried to stop me…" Much to the boy's surprised.

Back in the present "I was already aware of the risks. If I am to return to the battlefield, then I must product suitable results!" Barrett thinks. "My turn!" He declares and draws. "Once again, I activate the Continuous Spell: Beastborg Fusioner's effect!" Barrett declares. "I will Fusion Summon with Panther Warrior and Dark Sentinel!" He states. "Come forth once more! Panther Predator" Barrett tells it (ATK: 1600). "Furthermore, I activate the Continuous Trap: Beastborg Medal of the Shield's effect!" He states. "By sending this card to my Graveyard, I can increase the ATK of one "Beastborg" monster I control by 100 per Medal Counter!" Barrett explains (Panther Predator's ATK: 2000). "It's ATK is tied with Genghis!" Nakajima shocked. "I activate the Continuous Trap: Beastborg Medal of the Blade" Barrett states. "This card gains a Medal Counter for every 100 points of damage I deal to my opponent!" He explains. "I see you have quite a liking for war medals" Reiji observes. "I am a warrior. The amount of medals I possess if proof of my honor!" Barrett replies. "Once again, I'll have you take half of this card's ATK as damage with its effect!" He declares, and this time, Reiji takes 1000 damage, as he blocks the beam again (Reiji's LP: 2200). Medal of the Blade gains ten Medal Counters "I activate Continuous Trap: Beastborg Medal of the Blade's effect!" Barrett declares. "By sending this card to my Graveyard, I can increase the ATK of one "Beastborg" monster I control by 100 per Medal Counter!" He explains (Panther Predator's ATK: 3000). "He already raised its ATK to 3000?!" Nakajima horror. "Battle! I attack Flame King Genghis with Panther Predator! Industrial Savage!" Barrett declares. Panther Predator severs one of the barbs of Genghis and snaps its sword with Industrial Savage (Reiji's LP: 1200). "As I expected, he has an abundance of combat experience…" Reiji thinks. "I set one card and end my turn" Barrett states. "In your next Standby Phase, you're going to take 1000 points of damage in your Continuous Spell: Dark Contract with the Swamp King, correct?" He comments. "That's correct" Reiji confirms. Barrett smirks while the boy watched in silent.
With only the slightest hesitation "My turn! Draw!" Reiji declares. "Due to my Continuous Spell: Dark Contract with the Swamp King, I will take 1000 points of damage!" He states. Reiji groans in pain as both the card and his heart glow purple (Reiji's LP: 200). "You have my respect. You deserve a medal of honor as well" Barrett declares. "I do not need such things. But, Warrior of the Fusion Dimension, this damage has sealed your fate!" Reiji retorts. "What?" Barrett surprise. Reiji steps forward, D/D Savant Galilei and D/D Savant Kepler reflected in his glasses. "I, using the Scale 1 D/D Savant Galilei and the Scale 10 D/D Savant Kepler, set the Pendulum Scale!" Reiji declares. "With this, I am able to simultaneously Summon monsters from Levels 2 to 9!" He states. "Grand power which shakes my very soul! Arise within me and give birth to a new light that rends the darkness! Pendulum Summon! Come before me, my monsters!" Reiji chants. Two purple streaks appear from the Summoning portal "Prideful knight, D/D Proud Chevalier! (ATK: 2000) Vessel of disaster, D/D Pandora!" Reiji calls out (ATK: 1700). "Pendulum Summon!?" Barratt shocked. "There still more! I Overlay the Level 5 D/D Proud Chevalier and D/D Pandora!" Reiji declares. "Hero of legends, pierce through all things with your profound justice! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 5! D/D/D Marksman King Tell!" He chants (ATK: 2300). "Pendulum to Xyz?!" Barrett shock.
"Marksman King Tell's effect!" Reiji declares. "If I have taken damage from a "Contract" card this turn, I can use one Overlay Unit…I can lower an opponent's monster's ATK by 1000 and deal 1000 points of damage!" He explains as Tell absorbs one of its Overlay Units into its wrist-mounted crossbow. "So that is why he took that damage?!" Barrett realizes. "Piercing Arrow!" Reiji declares and Tell fires twin lightning arrows the first one hitting Panther Predator in the knee (Panther Predator's ATK: 2000), and the second exploding in front of Barrett, blasting him backwards. Barrett manages to push himself off the ground and flip upright (Barrett's LP: 2600). "Of course, I will also be using the remaining Overlay Unit!" Reiji states. "Piercing Arrow!" He declares and Tell fires its Piercing Arrow again, hitting Panther Predator in the chest (Panther Predator's ATK: 1000), and Barrett is hit in the shoulder. Barrett yanks the arrow out and crushes it (Barrett's LP: 1600). "I'm not finished yet!" Reiji tells them. "Continuous Spell: Dark Contract with the Swamp King's other effect!" He declares. "I can Fusion Summon a "D/D" monster by banishing materials from my Graveyard!" Reiji explains. "What?!" Barrett shock. "I banish D/D Proud Chevalier and D/D Pandora from my Graveyard and fuse them!" Reiji declares. "Proud knight, be absorbed into the crucible of disaster! Be reborn into a true king! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Ruler who carries the glory of God! D/D/D Oracle King d'Arc!" He chants (ATK: 2800). "Battle! I attack Panther Predator with D/D/D Oracle King d'Arc!" Reiji declares. "I won't fall that easily!" Barrett refuses. "I activate the Trap Card: Beastborg Medal of Honor!" He declares. "It destroys a "Beastborg" Fusion monster and Special Summons its Fusion Materials from the Graveyard!" Barrett explains. "I destroy Panther Predator!" He declares. "Then, I Special Summon Panther Warrior and Dark Sentinel!" Barrett states (ATK: 2000) (ATK: 1500). "Next I activate the effect of the Trap Card: Beastborg Medal of Honor!" He declares. "Both players are dealt damage equal to the total ATK of the monsters Special Summoned by its effect!"Barrett explains. Power flows from the resurrected Panther Warrior and Dark Sentinel, exploding above them "With these 3500 points of damage, I'll be take you out with me!" Barrett vows. Reiji adjusts his glasses "I won't let you" He tells Barrett. "I activate D/D/D Oracle King d'Arc's effect!" Reiji declares. "I negate your effect damage and then gain LP equal to that amount!" He explains. d'Arc collects the energy in her claw "Life Elation!" Reiji declares. "I gain 7000 LP" He states (Reiji's LP 7200). "Impossible!" Barrett protests. "Resume battle! Go, D'Arc! Oracle Charge!" Reiji orders d'Arc. d'Arc destroys Panther Warrior (Barrett's LP: 800). "This will finish it! I attack Dark Sentinel with D/D/D Marksman King Tell! Forbidden Break Shot!" He declares. Tell fires, and the arrow vanishes before it strikes "It disappeared!" Barrett surprised. The attack hits home, and it blasts Barrett across the ground (Barrett's LP: 0). The mysterious boy looks defiantly at Reiji.
Mirroring his defiance, Yuya has 100 LP and only Performapal Minstrel Caroler on his Field opposing Namame 's 1000 and her Wingweaver (ATK: 2750). "We've had a truly heated match up until now, but Namame has taken the lead!" Nico explains. "My turn!" Yuya prepares to draw. "The match hasn't been decided yet! Being able to enjoy situations like this is Entertainment Duelling!" He thinks. "Draw!" Yuya declare dramatically, getting Crystal Rose. "I Summon Crystal Rose!" Yuya declares (ATK: 500). "I treat Crystal Rose as Odd-Eyes Dragon!" He states and the light surrounding Crystal Rose refracts into an image of Odd-Eyes. Yuzu looks around the stand as she sees everyone cheering Yuya's move "And everyone's future…Smiles…" Yuzu remembering Ruri's final words. Yuya uses the effect of Minstrel Caroler to fuse Crystal Rose and Minstrel Caroler "Seraph's Melody… Dichromatic Eyes Dragon! Guided by the baton, gather your power! Fusion Summon! Now, come to the stage! Roar your song of victory! Odd-Eyes Bloom Dragon!" Yuya chants (ATK: 1000). "I've been waiting for this!" A men cheers. "Give everyone smile…" Yuzu muses. "This is Duelling…What am I doing?" She wonders. "Battle! I attack Wingeaver with Bloom Dragon! Rebound Howl!" Yuya declare. Bloom Dragon's Rebound Howl destroys Wingweaver and Namame was blasted backwards (Namame's LP: 0). "And we finally have a winner! The winner is You Show Duel School's Yuya Sakaki! It truly was amazing Duel!" Nico declares. Yuya winks at the crowd "Yuya!" The kids cheers. "Burning! You're burning!" Shuzo cries. Gongenzaka nods. Yuya looks up at Yuzu, who laughs happily.
Back in the back area, the mysterious boy gets up and begins to walk off "Wait, Yuri" Reiji tells him and Yuri turns back to look at him.
