"This will finish it! I attack Dark Sentinel with D/D/D Marksman King Tell! Forbidden Break Shot!" Reiji declares. Tell fires, and the arrow vanishes before it strikes "It disappeared!" Barrett surprised. The attack hits home, and it blasts Barrett across the ground (Barrett's LP: 0). The mysterious boy looks defiantly at Reiji. "Battle! I attack Wingeaver with Bloom Dragon! Rebound Howl!" Yuya declares. Namame was blasted backwards (Namame's LP: 0). "And we finally have a winner! The winner is You Show Duel School's Yuya Sakaki! It truly was amazing Duel!" Nico declares. Yuya winks at the crowd. Back in the back area, the mysterious boy gets up and begins to walk off "Wait, Yuri" Reiji tells him and Yuri turns back to look at him.
"Yes, you're Yuri. You are not Yuya Sakaki" Reiji muses. "Yuya Sakaki?" Yuri repeats the name in confusion. "A person in this world who looks much like you" Reiji explains. "But, let's leave aside explaining why you look alike for now. Before that…" He tells Yuri. "And you are?" Yuri asks. "Reiji Akaba. Leo Akaba's…son" Reiji explains. "Do you not remember?" He asks Yuri. "I've met you before. At the Fusion Dimension's Academia. You were the Duelist Leo Akaba had his eyes on the most there. And now, you have appeared in our world" Reiji states. "For what purpose? Did you improve your skills under Leo Akaba's guidance and get sent here as the vanguard for an invasion?" He wonders. "This has nothing to do with Leo Akaba!" Yuri angrily denies it. "I came to this world of my own free will! Not under anyone's orders" He claims. "I remember you as well" Yuri states. "Three years ago, you crossed dimensions and came to our world. As I saw many of my comrades getting their chance on the front lines, I was left to live a suffocating life trapped in that strict castle" He explains. "Even since you appeared three years ago!" Yuri points out.
(Flashback)
A large cylinder is seen glowing in a laboratory. A younger Reiji steps out of it, feebly reaching out, and the glow fades. As he explores the hallways of Academia "There he is!" A man shouts. "Don't let him get away!" Another man shouts. Reiji sees a young Yuri running down a hallway with three Academia professors in pursuit. Shadowing them, Reiji hides on a stone walkway above where the professors have cornered Yuri. The Aide steps up "It is the Professor's orders" He tells Yuri. "Please come back, Yuri" The Aide asks him. "I want to test my own abilities!" Yuri snaps. "There is no way the Professor would allow you to do that" The Aide replies. "I don't need his permission!" Yuri snaps and activates his Duel Disk. Reiji gasp "I'm getting out of here of my own free will! I won't show any mercy to anyone who gets in my way!" He states. "You leave me no choice. Capture him" The Aide order the three professors and the professors deploy their Duel Disks. "I Summon Preadaplant Sunrex from my hand!" Yuri declares (ATK: 1600). "I set one card and end my turn!" He states. "Now, bring it on!" Yuri tells them. "Do it" The Aide orders the professors. "I Summon Ancient Gear Soldier from my hand!" The three professors declare. "Go!" One of the professors shouts and Reiji ducks as a shockwave rocks the area "They have mass even though there isn't an Action Field!?" Reiji thinks. Yuri's Sunrex lands unharmed "It's ridiculous that you even call yourselves professors of Academia" Yuri snaps. "Academia?!" Reiji exclaims. "Don't get ahead of yourself. This isn't over!" The Aide warns him, but before they can continue "I Summon D/D Cerberus!" Reiji declares, which surprised everyone. "Battle!" Reiji declares, destroying one of the Ancient Gear Soldiers. "Up here!" Reiji yells at Yuri as he holds out his hand. Yuri looks back as Cerberus bars the way of the professors, and Yuri leaps into the air to grab his hand. They flee, Cerberus fading, and the Aide contacts someone on his Duel Disk.
Reiji and Yuri arrive at the harbor "Let me go!" Yuri tells Reiji. "You're not from Academia, are you?!" He inquires. Reiji was confused. "Where is your boat?!" Yuri asks. "Boat?" Reiji confuse. "You must have ridden a boat here, right?" Yuri points out. "I'm going to get out of here to grasp my futu-" he states. "Your future is here" A voice declares. The Professor, accompanied by four blue-uniformed guards wearing strange masks, walks into the area. "Father!" Reiji gasps, but Leo ignores him, addressing Yuri instead "Yuri. I know your abilities more than anyone else" He tells him. "Then why do you keep me locked on this island!? Why do you not use my abilities!?" Yuri angrily asks. "It is not that time now" Leo replies. "Then when!? When you destroy Xyz?! Or Synchro?!" Yuri asks. "Xyz? Synchro? Destroy…?!" Reiji confuse by those terms. "A rumour has been going around…that the advance into the Xyz Dimension is about to start" Yuri explains. "If you approve of my abilities, then…Now is the time to use them! Add me to the squad! To the vanguard squad!" He states. "I cannot" Leo states. "Why!?" Yuri asks. "You have what you need to do" Leo states. "Wait a minute!" Reiji angrily cuts in. "Advance? Destroy? What are you talking about!? Where is this place?! What the heck is Academia?! You didn't say anything to me or Mother…and even abandoned the company! What are you even doing!? Father!" He asks. "So you crossed dimensions just to find that out?" Leo asks Reiji. "Dimensions?!" Reiji shocked that he has crossed dimensions. "What?" Yuri confuses. Five more guards step up and restrain Reiji and Yuri, two taking Yuri away "What are you doing?!" Yuri demands. "Stop it!" Reiji protest. "Let go! Let me go! Don't touch me!" Yuri struggles. "Yuri. I will find you no matter where you run. And definitely bring you back. Definitely!" Leo tells Yuri. "Take him away" He orders his guards to take Yuri. "Let go! Let go of me! Stop it! Set me free!" Yuri curses and struggles, as the guards take him away. "I'll have you return as well" Leo explains to Reiji. "Before that, answer me! Explains! What the heck is this place!?" Reiji angrily asks Leo. "This is the Fusion Dimension. Academia is my front line base to accomplish my plans" Leo explains. "What plan!?" Reiji asks. "You will find out eventually" Leo states. "Bring that out" He orders his guard "Yes sir! "One of them acknowledges. "Wh-what are you doing!?" Reiji demands and the guard straps a hexagonal band around Reiji's wrist "It has been set, sir" The guard informs Leo. "What the heck is this?!" Reiji asks. "It is a miniature vision of the device you used to cross dimensions. The gate you went through has been sealed. Once you return to your original dimensions, that device will self-destruct. You will never come back here" Leo explains. "Stay put in that world!" He tells Reiji. "I'm not done talking to you!" Reiji furiously yells. "What did you mean by advance and destroy!?" He asks. "It is to unite all the worlds" Leo claims. "Untie the worlds? What does that mean!?" Reiji tries to ask as the guards release him "Father! Father!" Reiji yells and the device activates.
(Flashback ends).
In the present "These last three years, I have been making preparations to crush Leo Akaba's ambitions. That is also why I have become the President of Leo Corporation in his place. I have worked towards finding and training Duelists with potential" Reiji explains. "All of it is to protect this city, this land we live in" He states. "Do you not wish to join me?" Reiji asks Yuri. "Join?" Yuri surprise. "Yes. To protect this place together from Leo Akaba and Academia…" Reiji states. Don't be ridiculous" Yuri interrupts. "I only came here because I heard there were remnants of the Xyz forces here" He tells Reiji, recalling hearing Sora's tantrums.
(Flashback)
"This time, I'll definitely defeat every last one of those Xyz scum!" Sora pleads, as Yuri was listening in the hallway.

"They must be quite skilled if they could defeat an agent from Academia" Yuri comments. "If I can defeat him, I can make Leo Akaba acknowledge my abilities!" He thought and he pulls out a card "But my first target was a complete disappointment. This one probably isn't the one I'm looking for" Yuri laments. He throws Hokuto's card to Reiji, who catches it "For the record, the man you were targeting earlier, Yuu Sakuragi, was also not the one you want" Reiji informs Yuri. "Well then, where is he?! The Xyz Duellist who defeated Academia's agent!" Yuri angrily asks.
In the Center Court, a gold-armored Duelist is thrown through the air. "That does it! It's over! The winner is LDS' Kurosaki! His opponent, Charles from Knight of Duels, a special guest school from overseas, was utterly defeated in a one-sided game by Kurosaki!" Nico announces. Three other armored Duelists sit in the stands, watching their comrade's defeat.
"Duelist from the Xyz Dimension?" Reiji asks. "I don't know of one" He said. "Then I'll search on my own" Yuri decided and turns to leave. "If you cause a disturbance in this town…I will not be able to overlook it" Reiji warns him. Yuri grunts. "Even if you did not come here on Leo Akaba's orders, if you refuse to join with me, then I'll consider you an enemy" Reiji states. His statement finally rouses the injured Barrett "I won't let you!" He states and he activates the forced return function of his Duel Disk. Yuri gasps and Reiji grunts. "With this, I have told Academia exactly where we are" Barrett explains. His Duel Disk warps him away "Forced return, huh?" Yuri nonchalantly comments. "Forced return?" Reiji asks. "Eventually, pursuers from Academia will come to bring me back. Just like you saw three years ago" Yuri explains to Reiji. Reiji remembers his father's vows to Yuri.
(Flashback)
"Yuri. I will find you no matter where you run. And definitely bring you back. Definitely!" Leo tells Yuri.
(Flashback ends)
"When that happens, it will cause more than just a disturbance. But I won't let them catch me. Once I defeat those pursuers as well as the Xyz Duelist…Leo Akaba will have no choice but to acknowledge my abilities!" Yuri states. He finally leaves, and Reiji takes out his Duel Disk "it's me. Gather the top brass as quickly as possible" He calls someone.
At the You Show Duel School "Next up is Duel News! After intense battles over the past few days, in Maiami Championship's Junior Youth Class, Round Two has finished and the Top 16 have been determined" The announcer explains as Yuya, Yuzu, Shuzo, and the kids watch the Duel News on the television. "Now then, let's get right into introducing those players!" The announcer declares. "Here it comes!" Shuzo exclaims. "Our first player is You Show Duel School's Yuya Sakaki!" The announcer introduced. "Here it is! So cute! Yusho's son is the best! Burning! Hot-blooded!" Shuzo excited. And was smacked by Yuya's fan. "And from the same You Show Duel School and Entertainment Duel style, Making a name with her Pendulum Summoning, Yuzu Hiragi!" The announcer continues. Yuzu rubs her head in embarrassment "She defeated two fierce opponents: LDS' Shingo Sawatari in the first round and Ryouzanpuku's Isao Kachidoki in the second! She's qualified for Round Three in her tournament!" The announcer explains. At the mention of Kachidoki's name, Yuzu went quite, remembering Kachidoki slapping her hand away "I'll never have a Duel like the one with Kachidoki again. I need to have a Duel that the players and audience can enjoy like the one I had with Sawatari" Yuzu vows.
Yuya puts his hand out "We're rivals now that we've come this far" He reminds Yuzu. "As representatives of You Show Duel School, let's aim for the top with our Entertainment Duelling!" Yuya encourages her. "Yeah!" Yuzu agrees. "Your Duel in the Second Round was really good!" She compliment Yuya's last Duel. "I'll do my best to have a Duel like that again! The best Entertainment Duel!" Yuzu states. Yuya nods in agreement. They clasp hands, bringing Shuzo to tears "This is youth! Youth put into Duels!" He declares. "Aim for the top!" Shuzo enthusiastically tells them. "You're too loud, Principal!" Futoshi complains. "They're still not done introducing all the players…" Ayu points out. "And After the overseas team, Knight of Duels, is Kirigakure Cooking School's Michio Mokota!" The announcer announced. "Michie! You're amazing!" Yoko squeals. "Y-Yoko…" Shuzo discomfort. "Auntie? Why are you here…" Yuzu confuses. "Teppei Tairyobata, the Fishing Duelist! His word is "big haul!" The announcer announces. "Good luck getting a big catch!" She wishes him. "Next we have Gongenzaka Dojo's Noboru Gongenzaka! Refining his Steadfast Duelling style, he's one this tournament's dark horse! And another one of those dark horses is LDS' Shun Kurosaki!" The announcer states. "Kurosaki!" Yuzu gasps to see Kurosaki being announced. "His shocking first round victory over You Show Duel School's Sora Shiunin is still very clear in our minds! Kurosaki also took his second match with a one-sided victory" The announcer remarks. "I wonder what kind of Duel he'll show us in the third round?" She wonders. "What kind?!" Tatsuya horrified. "No matter how you look at it, he went too far!" He protests. "I bet it's his fault that Sora is gone too!" Ayu claims. "I'm so frustrated I've got the shivers!" Futoshi says. "Sora…" Yuzu murmurs his name.
In the Fusion Dimension, Leo sits on his throne in front of his machine "You said you wanted to go to Standard again, correct?" He asks Sora. "Yes sir! There are Xyz remnants in Standard!" Sora replies. "I will grant" Leo replies. "Thank you very much!" Sora thanks him politely. "However, you will not be going alone this time. I will have you go with them" Leo explains and nine of the blue-uniformed students guards step up "Obelisk Force!?" Sora shocked. "Finding the Xyz remnants is only a secondary objective. Your primary objective is him" Leo explains. A hologram of Yuri appears "Yuya!" Sora gasps. "No, he is Yuri" Leo corrects him. "Yuri? But no matter how I look at him, he's Yuya…Why?" Sora asks in confusion. "You have no need to know that. Your objective is to capture Yuri and bring him back to this world. You are authorized to engage the local Duellists in combat in order to accomplish this. You must bring Yuri back" Leo states. Sora signs as he listens to Leo.
Back in the Standard Dimension, "It'll be fine, Sora will definitely come back. Definitely. I believe it!" Shuzo reassures them. "Principal…" Yuya whispers. "Dad…" Yuzu whispers. "I'm sure Sora would be happy if you work hard for first place! It'll motivated him to try harder and come back!" Shuzo suggested. "That's right!" Futoshi agrees. "He only entered the Junior Youth Tournament because "If Yuzu's going to enter, then I will too!" He reminds them, and he mimics Sora's eyes and voice. "If you guys keep winning, he'll be so frustrated he'll have to show his face!" Tatsuya suggests. "You're still winning in the Junior section too, Tatsuya!" Ayu adds. "Now you've got it!" Shuzo declares. Yuya, Yuzu, and Tatsuya, do your best and frustrate Sora! And work your hardest to get first place!" He tells them. "But…I, personally, would like Mitchie to aim for first as well… Yoko muses. "Aunite…" Yuzu sweat drops in shock.
"Tomorrow, we'll finally have our match to determine the Top 8" The announcer on the television declares as the Top 16 are shown on the screen: Umesugi, Hikage, Tsukikage, Takeda, Halil, Tairyobata, Olga, Dennis, Mokota, Carl, Bram, Ashley, Yuya, Gongenzaka, Yuzu, and Kurosaki. "I hope all of our competitors will fight with no regrets tomorrow!" She hopes. "With that, tomorrows weath-" The announcers begins to announces. In the Leo Corporation, Himika snaps her fingers to switch the screen off, and she turns to Reiji "It seems like it's finally happening…" She comments. "No. I won't let it" Reiji refuses. "We will hold off the enemy's invasion in this town. Definitely" He states as he stares out over the city in the evening.
The next day, in the LDS Center Court, the Top 16 stand behind Nico Smiley, save Kurosaki. "Kurosaki didn't come, did he?" Yuya notes. "Where did he go?" Yuzu wonders and the three Knight of Duels students look around. "Everyone, thank you for waiting!" Nico thanks the audience. "Right now, a Battle Royale between these 16 Junior Youth competitors will take place!" He announces. Everyone gasps in shock. "Ba-Battle Royale!?" Shuzo, Yoko and the kid shocked.
Up in Reiji's office "A city-wide Battle Royale…You've really though this out, Reiji" Himika comments. "If we broadcast that invaders from another dimension are going to arrive at any moment, the city could dissolve into panic. So instead, we will release the top 16 of the Junior Youth class into the city…and have them take out the enemy in the Battle Royale" Reiji explains. "The ones who will actually intercept the invaders will be these 8. These are the Top 8 of the Youth class. The plan is made even smoother by the fact that all of them are LDS" He states as he looks at the Youth class top 8, including Yu Sakaragi. "For the honor of LDS and to protect our world, we're counting on you" Himika tells them. "Yes ma'am!" The Youth Class respond in the affirmative. Reiji nods, and then turns to Kurosaki, who was leaning against the wall "I'm sure you already know, but Kurosaki…Your orders are to find fighters with potential among the 15 in the stadium…who are suitable to join the Lancers to provide for any emergencies" He reminds Kurosaki. "So you don't want me to fight with the enemy then?" Kurosaki asks. "I can't promise that. If those eight get wiped out, I'll have no choice but to take part" He comments. "You're just Junior Youth and you're running your mouth…!" Sakuragi derisive of Kurosaki running his mouth. "Do your best to stay alive" Kurosaki tells them and leaves.
In the Center Court "Now then, let's explain the rules!" Nico states. "The match will begin promptly at noon! At that time, Action Cards will be spread out! And here is the important part! There are Pendulum Cards from Leo Corporation hidden in the city!" He explains. "What?!" Yuzu shocked. "The competitors must find at least two of them and Duel!" Nico explains. "Everyone has to get a Pendulum Cards?" Yuya realizes. "So that means everyone can Pendulum Summon?" Shuzo realizes. "The matches will be held under the Ante Rule with the Pendulum Cards included! The winner then takes the amount of Pendulum Cards bet by the loser and acquires them as their own! The time limit is twenty-four hours! Also, the city will be split into four areas based on the fields in the Field Spell: Quartet of Quandry! Competitors are free to battle in any of these four areas!" Nico explains. "The whole city will be an Action Field!" Tatsuya exclaims. "Four of them!" Ayu exclaims. "Shivers!" Futoshi gets an impressive bout.
"The starting time is almost upon us!" Nico states. "All entrants please prepare your Duel Disk!" He asks them Yuya, Yuzu, and Gongenzaka all ready their Duel Disks "Battle Royale Mode" The Duel Disk said. The audience gave out a big cheer. "Gate open!" Nico orders the gate to open, and a section of the stadium rises up. Yuri watches from the outside "The Xyz remnants are in there…" He thinks. "Now then, let's get this started" Nico declares. "Duelist locked in battle! Kicking against the earth and dancing in the air with their monsters! They storm through this Field! Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!" He chants as Kurosaki moves through LDS and everyone gets ready. "ACTION!" Nico declares. "DUEL!" Everyone finishes by yelling. and they dash out of the gates, Yuya, Yuzu, Michio, and the Kage brothers leading the way as Yuzu laughs happily, while the Action Cards scatter in four bunches.
