"When Yuzu learned that the Battle Royale was a test to select Lancers, the anti-Academia Duel Warriors…she channeled her rage at Reiji Akaba and challenged him to a Duel" Gongenzaka recaps. "I will! In place of Yuya and everyone else…! I'll make you grovel before me!" Yuzu declares. "This is the end! Get him, Lace! Melancholy Thrust Rupture!" She declares for the apparent win, but Reiji had survived. Satoru gasps in shocked. "What?!" Gongenzaka gasps. "The Lancers are an anti-Academia combat squad. Remember that such unstable emotion can be fatal in a real battle!" Reiji explains. "I don't intend to be a part of your Lancers!" Yuzu retorts. "You don't want to save Yuya Sakaki?" Reiji asks. Everyone gasps in shock "What?!" Gongenzaka gasps. "Yuya…Are you saying he's still alive!?" Yuzu asks Reiji.
"Are you saying Yuya is alive?!" Yuzu asks. "Was he captured by the Obelisk Force?! Are you saying you saw that?!" Yuri asks Reiji. Reiji doesn't reply.
(Flashback)
Reiji remembers monitoring Yuya with Nakajima while he was being chased by Selena. "What are those Fuma ninja doing?!" Nakajima asks. "President's orders! Do not let Academia lay their hands on Yuri!" He states. "No, that's not Yuri. I can tell be his movements. That is Yuya Sakaki" Reiji explains. "I don't know why, but the two of them seem to have exchanged clothes" He states as Yuya hides from Selena. Yuya's bracelet glows and Selena vanishes. "What the!?" Nakajima confused, and then Rin ramps over the iceberg in her D-Wheel and lands. "That's the Synchro Dimension's Duelist!" Nakajima said, and they see Rin run over to hug Yuya. Soon, Yuya's bracelet glows again, and this time both he, Rin, and Rin's D-Wheel vanish. "They disappeared!" Nakajima shocked.

Back in the present "It was clear that Yuya Sakaki was not turned into a card. And, most likely, he was not taken to Academia. But right now, instead of telling her that…" Reiji thinks. "If you want to defeat Academia and save Yuya Sakaki, you must overcome me first!" He tells Yuzu. Yuzu grits her teeth in anger. In the Leo Corporation observation room, Himika, Reira watch the Duel with Nakajima "You mean to tell me Reiji plans to make Yuzu Hiragi a Lancer…even though she has hostility towards him?!" Himika asks Nakajima. "She is the pioneer of Pendulum Summoning" Nakajima reminds Himika. "She will be essential in our fight against Academia" He explains. "But Pendulum Summoning is no longer her alone!" Himika, disdainful of this viewpoint, points out.
The Duel stands with Yuzu on 2000 LP and Reiji on 1900 LP. "My turn. Draw!" Reiji declares. "I, using the Scale 1 D/D Savant Galilei and the Scale 10 D/D Savant Kepler, set the Pendulum Scale!" He declares. "With this I can now simultaneously Summon multiple monsters from Level 2 to 9!" Reiji states. Yuzu gasps. "Here it comes, Reiji Akaba's Pendulum Summon!" Gongenzaka tell Satoru and Dennis, and Satoru gasps. "Grand the power which shakes my very soul! Arise within me and give birth to a new light that rends the darkness! Pendulum Summon! Come before me! Supreme deity who judges the twilight of gods! D/D/D Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok!" Reiji chants (ATK: 2200). "When this card is Special Summoned, I can Special Summon one "D/D/D" monster from my Graveyard!" He explains. "Be reborn! D/D/D Wave King Caesar!" Reiji declares (ATK: 2400). "Abyss Ragnarok's ATK is 2200. Caesar's is 2400…He doesn't have enough strength to defeat my artistes even with two "D/D/D" monsters!" Yuzu thinks. "I Summon D/D Necro Slime from my hand" Reiji states (ATK: 300). "Then, I activate Abyss Ragnarok's effect: By Releasing D/D Necro Slime, I can banish a monster on my opponent's field!" He explains. Abyss Ragnarok ensnares Necro Slime in its straps and squeezes it into a blue husk "I'll banish your Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic!" Reiji declares. "What?!" Yuzu gasps. Abyss Ragnarok hefts the glowing husk, which connects with Musia and banishing it. "Damn it!" Yuzu cursed. "She still has Lace!" Gongenzaka reassure everyone.
Pointing down "I activate the effect of D/D Nerco Slime in my Graveyard!" Reiji declares. "By banishing this card, I can Fusion Summon a "D/D/D" monster!" He explains. Satoru gasps. "Reiji Akaba can also…" Gongenzaka gasps. "Pendulum Fusion?!" Yuzu shocked. "The monsters I will fuse are Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok and Wave King Caesar!" Reiji declares. "Crush the twilight of the gods…with the power of the rising tide and clear the path to the new world! Fusion Summon! Be born! The ultimate dictator god! D/D/D Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok!" He chants (ATK: 3200). "An ATK of 3200?!" Yuzu shocked. "And now, I activate the Fusion Material, Wave King Caesar's, effect from the Graveyard!" Reiji declares. "I add one "Dark Contract" card from my Deck to my hand!" He explains and he adds Dark Contract with Renewal. "Battle! I attack Lace the Melodious Pendulum Fauna with Wave Oblivion King Caesar Ragnarok! The End of Judgement!" Reiji declares and Caesar Ragnarok blasts a surge of blue-energy at Lace, destroying it. "Lace!" Yuzu cries (Yuzu's LP: 1800). "Now both of her Fusion Artistes are…" Gongenzaka gasps. "Darling's field is wide open!" Satoru gasps. Yuzu grits her teeth. "Is this your best?" Reiji asks. "What was that?!" Yuzu reacts in surprise. "You can't have shown everything yet" Reiji states. Yuzu grunts. "I'm not at my full strength either. Not in the slightest" Reiji tells Yuzu. "I set two cards and end my turn" He states. "Now, it's your turn. If you want me to actually try against you. You had better bold nothing back and show me everything you have to offer!" Reiji tells Yuzu. "Yuya was captured by Academia, right?!" Yuzu asks again. "If you know, then answer me!" She tells Reiji. "Then just defeat me" Reiji tells her. "What?!" Yuzu shocked. "Weren't you going to make me grovel before you? If Yuya Sakaki is safe…you don't care about the others who were turned into cards?" Reiji reminds Yuzu. Yuzu was shocked by the reminder.

She remembers Michio's defeat and sees his, Teppei's, Hikage's, and the Knights of the Duels' cards in her mind's eye.

Yuzu begins screaming in pain, clutching her head.

She recalls Ruri's memories of the Invasion of the Xyz Dimension.

She screams again as her eyes glow red, her hair begins to spike and she begins emitting darkness. "Darling!" Satoru yells. "Yuzu!" Gongenzaka yells. "Why…Why is Reiji Akaba provoking Yuzu this much?!" He wonders. Yuzu manages to calm herself down and she shakes her head.
"My turn!" Yuzu declares and she draws a card, causing Reiji to smile. "Swing once more, Pendulum of my Soul! Draw an arc of light across the ether! Pendulum Summon! Be reborn once more from my Extra Deck! Arial the Melodious Sorceress! (ATK: 1200) Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra!" Yuzu chants (ATK 2600). "And from my hand, I Summon Cecilia the Melodious Diva!" She declares (ATK: 1500). "I activate the Spell Card: Rhythmical Flow!" Yuzu declares. "For every "Melodious" card on the Field, I get to draw two cards!" She states. "Next, I activate the Spell Card: Melody's Downbeat!" Yuzu states. "Now my Cecilia's Level becomes Level 1!" She explains (Cecilia's LV: 1). "Symphonia the Melodious Sorceress' Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, I can target monster to make it the same Level as another Level!" Yuzu declares. Symphonia the Melodious Sorceress fires an arrow from its bow between Arial the Melodious Sorceress and Cecilia the Melodious Diva. "I make Arial the Melodious Sorceress' Level the same as Cecilia the Melodious Diva's: 1!" Yuzu declares and red light covers Cecilia while purple light covers Arial (Arial's LV: 1). "Now she has two Level 1 monsters!" Yuri observes. "Next I activate the Spell Card: Lyrics!" Yuzu decalres. "Now all my Level 4 or lower monster are treated as Lyrilusc!" She states. "I Overlay my Level 1 Arial the Melodious Sorceress and Cecilia the Melodious Diva!" Yuzu declares. "Birds with beautiful wings! Gather on the battlefield and take brilliant flight! Xyz Summon! Dance in the sky! Rank 1! Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale!" She chants (ATK: 0). "Ruri's Artiste..." Kurosaki gasps, and Reiji smiles again "Good" He thinks. "Assembled Nightingale's ATK is equal to the number of Overlay Unit times 100!" Yuzu states (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 200). "Next I activate the Continuous Spell: Mesmerizing Melody!" Yuzu declares. "By using one Overlay Unit… (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 100) I can half Caesar Ragnarok's ATK until the end of the turn…and Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale's own ATK increases by that amount!" She explains. Assembled Nightingale unfolds its wings and blasts lightning that ensnares Caesar Ragnarok (Caesar Ragnarok's ATK: 1600) (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 1700). "I'll use one more Overlay Unit!" Yuzu declares (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 1600) "Yuzu!" Gongenzaka mutters (Caesar Ragnarok's ATK: 800) (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 2400). "Next, I activate the Spell Card: Espressivo!" Yuzu declares. "Now I can chose one "Melodious" Pendulum monster from my Graveyard and equip it to Assembled Nightingale and Assembled Nightingale gains 500 ATK for Arial's Level!" She explains (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 4900). Next, I activate the Spell Card: Fermata!" Yuzu declares. "Now, if my opponent controls a high Level monster, a monster on my field gains 100 ATK until the end of this turn!" She explains (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 5000). "The different is 4200!" Gongenzaka gasps. "She'll definitely finish it with this!" Satoru gasps. "Battle! I attack Caesar Ragnarok with Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale! Strike of the Whirlwind Violation!" Yuzu declares as Assembled Nightingale flares its wings and its talon glow with lightning. "I activate Caesar Ragnarok's monster effect!" Reiji declares. "I return D/D Savant Kepler to my hand, and equip a monster on my opponent's field to Caesar Ragnarok, increasing its ATK by that monster's ATK!" He explains. "I'll equip Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra to Caesar!" Reiji declares. Caesar Ragnarok ensnares Mozarta in its straps, dissolving it into a yellow aura. "Mozarta!" Yuzu yells and Gongenzaka and Satoru gasps in shock (Caesar Ragnarok's ATK: 3400). Then the attack connects, destroying Caesar Ragnarok (Reiji's LP: 300). Yuzu winces in disappointment "I set one card and end my turn" She states in frustration. "At this moment the effects of Mesmerizing Melody and Fermata ends" Yuzu points out (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 2500).
"That was splendid" Reiji comments. "What?!" Yuzu surprised. "Once again, you've shown me how you have progressed beyond Pendulum" Reiji explains. "If we were to say that Pendulum Fusion was formed with your bond with Yuya Sakaki…From whose bind did you acquire Pendulum Xyz?" He asks. Yuzu and Kurosaki gasp, remembering Ruri. "Well, that's fine, I'm sure that will become clear in due time" Reiji muses. "Next is my turn" He states.
"My turn!" Reiji declares and he draws D/D/D Doom King Armageddon. "With the already set D/D Savant Galilei's Pendulum Effect: Its Scale increases from 1 to 3!" Reiji states (Galilei's Scale: 3). "With the Scale 10 D/D Savant Kepler returned to my hand earlier, I set the Pendulum Scale again!" He declares. "With this I now simultaneously Summon multiple monsters from Level 4 to 9!" Reiji states. "Grand power which shakes my every soul! Arise within me and give birth to a new light that rends the darkness! Pendulum Summon! Be reborn! D/D/D Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok! (ATK: 2200) And from my hand, D/D/D Doom King Armageddon!" He chants (ATK: 3000). "That's!" Gongenzaka recognizes Armageddon. "Huh?" Satoru confuses.

"That monster drove Yuzu to the edge last time…" Gongenzaka explains to Satoru as he remembers when Armageddon attacks Mozarta (Yuzu's LP: 500).

"Trap Card: Wings of Misdirection, activate!" Yuzu declares. "I can negate the activations of monster effect, and Spell or Trap Cards on my opponent's field…and increase the ATK of one monster on my field by 800!" She explains (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 3300). "Assembled Nightingale's ATK is higher than Armageddon's!" Satoru observes. "And she sealed her opponent's Set cards...!" Gongenzaka adds. "And now, I will overcome her again!" Reiji thinks. "I will Overlay my Level 8 Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok and Doom King Armageddon!" He declares. "What?!" Kurosaki shocked. "Reiji can also go from Pendulum…" Gongenzaka shocked. "to Xyz?!" Satoru shocked. Yuri just watches. "When two suns rise, the horizon to a new world will open! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 8! D/D/D Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga!" Reiji chants (ATK: 3500). "An ATK of 3500!?" Yuzu shocked. "When this card is Special Summoned, I can negate the effect of all other cards this turn!" Reiji explains. "What?!" Yuzu shocked. Kali Yuga waves its hand, greying out Wings of Misdirection (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 2500). "Assembled Nightingale's ATK went back to 2500!" Satoru laments. "Battle! I attack Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale with Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga! Twin Break Shot!" Reiji declares. Kali Yuga" attacks Assembled Nightingale, destroying it and blasted Yuzu down the stairs again, screaming (Yuzu's LP: 800). She lands with a crash, and Reiji walks up to the stairs. "Yuzu!" Gongezaka calls out as he race forward. "Darling!" Satoru calls out as too race forward. "I end my turn here" Reiji states. "What's wrong? Are you already finished?" He asks Yuzu. "What happened to the vigor you showed when you said you'd make me grovel before you?!" Reiji wonders. Yuzu begins struggling to get up "Weren't you going to make me repent to you?!" Reiji, raising his voice, asks.
"I can't watch this anymore!" Gongenzaka said. "I'll help you!" Satoru said, and both of them run forwards to assist Yuzu. "Don interfere!" Yuzu yells at them and Gongenzaka and Satoru stops. "This is my Duel. Mine, Yuya and Ruri's…" Yuzu states as she struggles up. Kurosaki runs up too "Ruri?!" Kurosaki surprised to hear Yuzu talking about Ruri. "I…No matter happens, I will save Yuya!" Yuzu vows. "Darling…" Satoru whispers sadly. "Yuzu…" Gongenzaka whispers sadly. "And I will keep my promise to Ruri!" Yuzu angrily adds.

"With your power…To the world…And everyone's future…Smiles…" Yuzu remembers what Ruri tells her.

"That's why I cannot lose! Especially not against someone who wants to make us fight! Who hurts people in Duels! I can't ever lose!" Yuzu screams.
"My turn!" Yuzu declares, draws in an arc. "I will beat you! With the card Ruri entrusted me with!" She vows. "When I control no monsters, I can activate the Spell Card: Shuffle Reborn from my hand!" Yuzu declares. "I Special Summon Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale with its effect negated!" She explains (ATK: 0). "It's back!" Satoru cheers. "Yeah!" Gongenzaka cheers. "Additionally, with Shuffle Reborn's effect, I return Beste the Melodious Enchantress to my Deck! And draw one card!" Yuzu states. She draws Dissonat the Melodious Sorceress "It's here!" Yuzu thinks. I, using the Scale 3 Dissonat the Melodious Sorceress and the already set Scale 9 Symphonia the Melodious Sorceress, set the Pendulum Scale!" Yuzu declares. "With this I can now simultaneously Summon multiple monsters from Level 4 to 9!" She states. "Swing, Pendulum of my soul! Draw an arc of light across the either! Pendulum Summon! Be reborn again! Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra!" Yuzu chants. Mozarta appears again and hymns (ATK: 2600). And now, Dissonat the Melodious Sorceress' Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, I can target one Xyz monster to have it gain a Level equal to its Rank!" Yuzu declares. "I grant the Rank 1 Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale a Level of 1!" She states as Dissonat the Melodious Sorceress infuses Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale with energy (Rank: 1-LV: 1) and both Yuri and Kurosaki were shocked. "Giving an Xyz monster a Level?!" Kurosaki surprised. "Symphonia the Melodious Sorceress' Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, I can target a monster to make it the same Level as another monster!" Yuzu declares. Symphonia the Melodious Sorceress fires another arrow, covering Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale in purple energy and Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra in red energy "I make Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale's Level the same as Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra's: 8!" Yuzu states (Assembled Nightingale's LV: 8). "With this…" Yuri observes. "She has two Level 8 monsters!" Kurosaki observes. Reiji smiles "It's here…" He comments. "I Overlay my Level 8 Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra and Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale!" Yuzu declares. "Artiste of radiant voice… Release the night aristocratic rage, and eradicate all opposing enemies! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 8! Artiste with voice emotional with fury! Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale!" She chants. The Xyz-Pendulum Monster shriek as it stands behind Yuzu (ATK: 3000). Kurosaki gasps in awe as he watches with Yuri.
None watch with more anticipation than Reiji, who clenches his fist in pleasure "That's it…" He proclaims to himself. "That's what I wanted to see!" Reiji states as he smiles. "I activate the Trap Card in my Graveyard: Wings of Misdirection!" Yuzu declares. "I'll banish this card along with my Dissonat and Symphonia the Melodious Sorceresses on the Field, And increase Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale's ATK by 800! (Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale's ATK: 3800) And at the same time, I negated the activation of all Set cards and monster effect on my opponent's field this turn!" She explains. "Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga's effect activates!" Reiji declares. "This card's effect cannot be negated by any other card!" He explains. "It doesn't matter! Even if you do that, Kali Yuga's ATK is 3500! Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale's is 3800! And the activation of your Set cards are still sealed!" Yuzu snaps. "Battle! Go! Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale! Turbulent Fury Assault Violation!" She declares. Extending the energy blades from its wings, Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale dives forwards and plunges its talons into the ground, tearing lines through the stairway as it spears towards Kali Yuga.
"I activate Kali Yuga's monster effect!" Reiji declares. "By using one Overlay Unit, I destroy all Spell and Trap cards on the field!" He explains. Kali Yuga creates a gust of wind with a gesture, and Reiji's two Set cards and both Galilei and Kepler explode. "And by using the remaining Overlay Unit, I will return all of my cards I just destroyed!" Reiji states. Kali Yuga raises its wings and the destroyed cards rematerialize. "Wings of Misdirection only negates the effects of cards that were on the field when it activated! With this, I am able to activate my Set cards" Reiji explains. "Trap Activate! Dark Contract with Errors!" He declares. "I can negate the effect of an active Trap Card!" Reiji explains. "I negate the effect of Wings of Misdirection!" He declares. The effect of "Wings of Misdirection" is negated and the ATK of Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale falls to 3000 as it continues to gouge its way through the stairs (Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale's ATK: 3000). Yuzu gasps in shock. "And now, I activate my other Trap Card! Dark Contract with Renewal!" Reiji declares. "I can activate the effect of the negated Wings of Misdirection!" He states. "What?!" Yuzu shocked. "With Wings of Misdirection's effect, I increase Duo-Dawn King Kali Yuga's ATK by 800!" Reiji states (Kali Yuga's ATK: 4300). "The battle is already in progress!" He points out. "Now, Kali Yuga…Turn the tables on Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale!" Reiji tells it, and just as Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale gets within striking range, Kali Yuga unleashes a blast of dark energy, counterattacking and destroying Mozarta the Melodious Nightingale. The shockwave blasts Yuzu backwards again, and she screams (Yuzu's LP: 0).
The devastated Neo Heartland City dissolves. "No way…" Satoru shocked. "Yuzu…" Gongenzaka shocked. "As I thought, you are still naive. As things are now, you won't be able to save Yuya Sakaki!" Reiji remind Yuzu. Yuzu grits her teeth in frustrations. "But you still have potential" Reiji states. "The same applies to you who have survived the Battle Royale. Your power with Pendulum Summoning exceeds even that of the LDS Top Team. That's why I have chosen you all as Lancers, and decided to cross dimensions with you!" He tells the rest of the Lancers who survived the Battle Royale, Yuri, Gongenzaka, Kurosaki, Sawatari, Dennis, and Tsukikage. "Cross dimension?!" Gongenzaka asks and Reiji nods. Reiji turn and he walks away, contacting Nakajima "How's the data for this past Duel?" Reiji asks. "All of it has been recorded" Nakajima confirms. "I see. Well done" Reiji congratulates him. "I'm not good enough now! I have to get stronger…Even stronger than I am now…! To make sure I definitely save Yuya!" Yuzu laments. With tears pouring down her face "Yuya!" Yuzu screams.

You can equip one "Melodious" Pendulum Monster from your Graveyard to one of your monsters and that monster gains 500 ATK for that monster's Level.
Fermata (Spell Card)
If your opponent controls a high Level monster, one monster on your field gains 100 ATK until the end of this turn.
