Duel King - "Jack Atlas"

"H-Hey, Rin! If you keep going this fast, the Duel Chasers will-!" Yuya, dressed in a new Riding Dueling outfit, tells her as she speeds through the traffic. "Yuya, there's no way they'd arrest us! We're qualified entrants for the Friendship Cup! If we cross the line a bit, they won't-" Rin reassures him. She then realizes that the celebrations have started at the Duel Palace "Oh crap! It's already starting!" Rin curses and accelerates, causing Yuya to scream. In the Security Headquarters "We have apprehended those two" An officer alerts Roger to Yuya and Rin's arrival. "Shall we arrest them before they enter the stadium?" He asks. "Even I am not that evil…"Roger comments. "We can at least let them enjoy the opening festivities" He requests. He place a white pawn down "Since it is a Duel from the Jack Atlas, after all" Roger notes to a hulking figure behind him.

"In the center of the City, we have an audience of over 200,000 at this Duel Palace!" Melissa explains as two huge holograms of herself were projected in the Duel Palace. "We're bursting with excitement for the Friendship Cup!" She comments. "Tonight I, Melissa Claire, will be enjoying the City's pinnacle of Dueling the Friendship Cup's opening festivities with you!" Melissa tells the crowd. The crowd cheers "To think I'd be chosen for this big job…I really do have this down!" Melissa comments.

Yuzu sits holding her Deck in a lounge "Everyone…I wonder where they were all taken…" She wonders.

(Flashback)

"Every year, we have an Exhibition Match with the current King during the opening festivities" Roger tells the Executive Council. "How does this sound, having her fill the role as the King's opponent?" He suggest, pointing to Yuzu. "Me!?" Yuzu was surprised at the decision, but then the other Lancers and the Commons were taken away. "H-Hey! Where are you taking everyone!?" Yuzu asks. "You have no need to worry. We have no intention of harming them" Gaul reassures her. "They are qualified candidates of the Friendship Cup" Grey points out. "No matter if they were former prisoners, they are heroes" Azul agrees. "As long as they continue winning, that is. Correct, Chairman?" Boardeaux adds. "Yes" White Taki. We treat them as our guest and offer them the best hospitality. As long as they continue winning" He declares. "Yuya will definitely be watching nearby! Win and ease his worries!" Gongenzaka reminds Yuzu. "Show the Synchro Dimension our power!" Sawatari urges Yuzu. "Beat down that traitor, Jack Atlas!" Crow tells Yuzu.

(Flashback ends)

"Traitor…" Yuzu mutters as the word echoes uncomfortably in her mind, and she turns to the boy in the room "Hey…What kind of person is Jack Atlas?" Yuzu asks. "Uh… um…." The boy surprised. "Could it be that you were told not to talk to me…?" Yuzu asks. "No…that's not it" The boy replies. "You're a fan of Jack too?" Yuzu asks. "W-Why would-"The boy was taken back. "I heard that he's the King of both Tops and Commons, so he must have plenty of fans" Yuzu explains. "Are you one of them?" She wonders. When the boy hesitates "Sorry, it must be hard to say that to me when I'm about to go Duel him" Yuzu apologizes. "It's just I was wondering what kind of person he is…" She said. "Umm…Jack Atlas was the first person born a Common to win the Friendship Cup three years ago, and since then, he has ruled over the seat of the King as the peerless ruler. His action, speech, and everything about him are truly worthy of the title of the greatest Duelist of all time. Is what I think…" The boy timidly explains. "Sorry, it was hard to tell me, that wasn't it?" Yuzu apologizes again. "I-it's almost time…" The boy, shyly, tells Yuzu. "I'll guide you to the stadium" He asks her to follow him. Yuzu gets up to follow the boy.

Rin was running up a set of stair "Slow down, Rin!" Yuya tells her, but the exited Commons can't contain herself, and she runs up the stairs "We're here, we're here, the Duel Palace! It's crazy huge! It's way too big!" Rin cheers. "I'm really going to Duel in a place like this?!" She asks. "I can't wait!" Rin admits. "The Dueling Stadium at the Miami Championships was huge, but…Riding Duel Arenas are this spacious...!" Yuya impressed. "Now then let's get on with today's main event! The City's esteemed Duel King! We're starting things off with a special match with Jack Atlas!" Melissa tells the crowd as four images of her appeared. "Jack! Jack! Jack! Jack!" the crowd cheers. "Jack! Jack!" The excited Rin cheers as well. "Atlas!" Some fan girls cheers. "As expected of the man who stands for the Friendship Cup, Jack Atlas! Tops and Commons are untied as they yell his name!" Melissa comments. "But, just wait a moment!" She tells them, and everyone pauses in confusion. "Because it's time to introduce the fortunate Duelist who will be Dueling the King tonight! Her name is…Yuzu Hiragi!" Melissa explains.

Yuzu enters the arena on a D-Wheel "Yuzu…" Yuya shocked to see her. Poor Yuzu wasn't used to her D-Wheel yet, running up to the side of the arena briefly. "Crow and the others told me, but…am I really going to Duel while riding this?!" Yuzu comments. "That's Yuzu…?" Yuya wonders, but then he notices that his bracelet was glowing. "What's wrong?" Rin asks. "The bracelet is…" Yuya points out this out to Rin. "Is it because both of you are here?" He wonders. As Yuzu pulls up to the starting line "Then that means that's defiantly…! Yuzu!" Yuya states, as his eyes fill with tears. "So she's Yuzu?" Rin observes Yuzu for the second time. "I don't know why she was chosen as Jack's opponent, but…I feel sorry for her" She admits. Yuya looks at Rin confuses. "That's a sacrifice for the King" Rin states. "Sacrifice?" Yuya wonders. "Do you know why they have an exhibition match before every Friendship Cup?" Rin asks Yuya. "To show others the strength of the King. The King doesn't take part in the main event. Only the winner fights him. So basically the Friendship Cup is a tournament to earn the right to challenge the King. So in order to remind them what an honor it will be to earn that…Every tournament, Jack would beat his opponent overwhelmingly. Egging on the tournament participants to climb up to face him!" She explains. "Well, now it's become more of a custom" Rin admits. "Overwhelmingly…" Yuya muses. "Yeah, that's why the exhibition match opponent is called a sacrifice" Rin explains. "That's horrible…" Yuya mutters.

"Now, the moment we've all been waiting for! The King has arrived! His strength and elegance has the entire City kneeling before him! Although he was born a Common, he climbed through the ranks like a rising dragon, making his way to become the ultimate Duelist, a living legend! Let me introduce…Our Duel King-Jack Atlas!" Melissa announces.

The lights in the arena dim, and a king card rises in the air overlain with the words "King Jack Atlas". Spotlights snap on, and Jack finally enters the stadium at last, his Wheel of Fortune gliding through the air. Rin and Yuya watch as the spotlights track Jack as he lands, spins, and speeds forwards. The crowd cheers for Jack, and he points towards the sky in his signature pose "There can be only one King, me!" Jack declares. "Atlas!" Some fan-girls cheers. "Jack! Jack! Jack!" The crowd cheers. "Jack Atlas really is cool!" Rin cries. Jack stops beside Yuzu "I ask all of you, how many turns do I need to win tonight!?" He asks the crowd. Yuzu was surprised by the brash statement "That's obvious! Finish off that kid in one turn!" One of the Commons in the crowd shouts. But Jack raises his hand "A King's Duel must be entertainment!" He declares. "Entertainment…?" Yuzu mutters. Extending a finger "Turn 1: I'll be on the play! Following this intro, Turn 2:" Jack states. He extends a second finger "I will give my opponent plenty of time to show their skills!" Jack explains. Then he extends a third finger "Turn 3: I will show them the overwhelming difference in our power and skill!" Jack explains. "So let's see how well she does…" Gaul comments. "If the Lancer's power can…" Grey wonders. "will be able to affect the King at all" Azul wonders. "It will be fun to watch, correct, Chairman?" Boardeaux comments to Taki. "Yes, let's get a good look at her" Taki comments as Reiji, Reira and Tsukikage stands below them.

"Yuzu…" Yuya whispers. "I'm going to lose in 3 turns!?" Yuzu was disdainful of Jack saying. "Beat down that traitor, Jack Atlas!" She remembers what Crow told hers. "I'll show you my Entertainment!" Yuzu thinks. "First off it the activation of the Field Spell…" Melissa declares. "In addition to that the rules have been revised to include an Action Field…" She explains. "A what?" Melissa realizes that she doesn't know what she's talking about. "Action Field…" Yuya murmurs in surprise, and in the Executive Council chamber "We heard your request" Gaul explains that they have granted Reiji's wish. "A Duel where you use Spell Cards called Action Cards" Grey clarifies Reiji's wish. "That is the fighting style of you Lancers" Azul comments. "Yes. It's is for facing off against Academia" Reiji agrees. "So you claim it is practical for real combat, then?" Bordeaux asks in surprise. "Then let us see how strong it is…This will be quite exciting, won't it, Chairman?" Grey comments. "Yes" Taki agrees. "I don't quite get it myself, but…" Melissa still not sure what an Action Field is. "Action Field: On! Crossover Acceleration!" She sticks to the script and declares. A yellow pulse spreads across the sky, and the Action Cards scatter. "Duel Mode, Autopilot: Standby" Both D-Wheels declares. The holographic starting board appears in front of the Duelists and counts down "Riding Duel, Acceleration!" Melissa declares. "Duel!" Yuzu and Jack start off with a cry. "Autopilot?" Yuzu notes the autopilot function of the D-Wheel. "I see, now I can take my hands off this and Duel!" She muses.

"I've taken the first turn!" Jack declares as he takes the first corner. "Woah! It's already going as he predicted! Jack cleared the first corner, giving him the first turn!" Melissa notes. "My turn!" Jack declares. "I Summon Red Sprinter from my hand!" He states (ATK: 1700). "When there are no other monsters on the field, I can Special Summon a Level 3 or lower Tuner Monster from my hand!" Jack explains. "I Special Summon Red Resonator!" He states (ATK: 600). "I Tune my Level 4 Red Sprinter to my Level 2 Red Resonator!" Jack declares. "Crimson Souls become one, Have them trembling before the roar of a King! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Red Wyvern!" He chants (ATK: 2400). The crows gave a loud cheer "And right off the bat, a Synchro Summon from the King! A dazzling opening act!" Melissa announces. "I wonder if the rest of the match will go as the King predicted!?" She wonders. "Jack is really cool! He's the best! I really want to Duel with Jack already!" Rin cheers. "I set one card and end my turn!" Jack states.

"Now, it's your turn! I'm giving you the stage, you better not disappoint me!" Jack tells Yuzu. "I'll show you my Entertainment Dueling!" Yuzu replies. "My turn!" She declares and draws. "I activate the Spell Card: Melodic Draw!" Yuzu states. "Now I get to draw one card for each monster that was Summoned from the Extra Deck!" She explains. "I, using the Scale 1 Arial the Melodious Sorceress and the Scale 9 Dulcet the Melodious Sorceress, set the Pendulum Scale!" Yuzu declares. "With this, I'm able to simultaneously Summon monsters from Levels 2 to 8" She states. "Swing, Pendulum of my Soul! Draw an arc of light across the aether! Pendulum Summon! Come, my monsters! First, Aretha the Melodious Nymph! (ATK: 200) Next is, Arco the Melodious Diva! (ATK: 500) After that, Dorian the Melodious Diva! (ATK: 100) And the star performer, with its with it wondrous and beautiful angelic voice, Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra!" Yuzu chants (ATK: 2600). "W-What's this!? Four monsters at once?! The previous scoop that I, Melissa Claire, saw in Central Park was just two but…This is double that! Pendulum Summon is just too amazing!" Melissa shocked. The crowd were all impressed by the Summon, including Rin, seeing it for the first time. "Amazing…" A man impressed. "Unbelievable!" Another man impressed. "It's Yuzu…That's definitely Yuzu!" Yuya cheers.

"I activate the Spell Card: Rhythmical Flow!" Yuzu declares. "Now for each "Melodious" card I have on the field, I get to draw two card from my Deck!" She explains. "Aretha the Melodious Nymph can Fusion Summon with a Pendulum Monster as Fusion Material!" Yuzu states. "I fuse Aretha and Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra!" She declares. "One who wields enchanting magic…Become a dazzling melody in the eyes of the maestra! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Arcane maestra of ancient magic! Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic!" Yuzu chants (ATK: 3000). "Next I activate the Spell Card: Melody's Downbeat!" She states. "Now all Level 4 "Melodious" monsters on my field become Level 1!" Yuzu explains (Arco's LV: 1) (Dorian's LV: 1). Next I activate the Spell Card: Lyrics!" She declares. "Now all my Level 4 or lower monster are treated as Lyrilusc" Yuzu states. "Then, I Overlay my Level 1 Arco and Dorian!" She declares. "Birds with beautiful wings! Gather on the battlefield and take brilliant flight! Xyz Summon! Dance in the sky! Rank 1! Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale!" Yuzu chants (ATK: 0). "That's her-!" Rin shocked to see Ruri's Artiste. "Yes…Ruri's Artiste" Yuya confirms. "Assembled Nightingale's ATK is equal to the number of overlay Units it has times 100!" Yuzu states (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 200). "Next I activate the Equip Spell: Fantasia Cloak!" She declares. "Now my Assembled Nightingale gains ATK equal to one of my monster's DEF!" Yuzu states (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 2200). "Next I activate another Equip Spell: Tone Ring!" She declares. "Now my Assembled Nightingale gains 500 extra ATK!" Yuzu states (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 2700). "Fusion and Xyz…" Gaul muses. "She can wield multiple Summoning methods?" Grey surprised. "This is the power of Lancers…" Azul declares. "She quite skilled, wouldn't you agree, Chairman?" Bordeaux comments to Taki. Taki nod in agreement "This is quite impressive" He comments. "From an amazing Pendulum Summon into Fusion and Xyz! Freely using these unique methods, Yuzu Hiragi has brought forth two Artistes! But our Hero, Jack, won't stay silent against this!" Melissa commentates.

She's proven right "Once during my opponent's turn, if there are two or more monsters with higher ATK than Red Wyvern on their, field, it can destroy the one with the highest ATK among them!" Jack activates the effect of his Red Wyvern. "I destroy Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic!" He declares, and Red Wyvern gets ready to blasts a fireball from its mouth. "I don't think so!" Yuzu replies, and she drives up the side barrier, snatching an Action Card from the air "All right!" Yuzu cheers. She ramps into the air "I activate Action Spell: Mirror Barrier!" Yuzu declares. "I negate a destruction via an effect!" She states as Red Wyvern blasts a fireball from its mouth, and a Sphere Field forms around Musia to deflect the blast. Yuzu lands "She blocked it!" Melissa gasps. "So these are Action Cards!? Amazing!" She amazed. "No way!" Jack's fangirls gripe about the move. "Using a card she just picked up!" The first fangirl gripes. "Isn't that unfair?! The second fangirl gripes. "Quite an entertaining idea!" A Tops' man impressed. "Indeed!" A Tops' woman agrees. "So Riding Dueling has evolved even further then?" A Commons' man states. "This is awesome!" Another Commons' man cheers. "I'll lose in 3 turn!?" Yuzu disgusted at the thought of being defeated in three turns. "I'll end this on this turn!" She vows. Jack smirks.

"Tone Ring can activate is effect by using an Overlay Unit!" Yuzu states. "I use two Overlay Units!" She declares (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 2500). "It can halve my opponent's ATK and increase its own by that amount!" Yuzu states and the wings of Assembled Nightingale unfold and blast lightning at Red Wyvern. "By using the effect twice, its ATK is quarter of its original!" Yuzu point outs (Red Wyvern's ATK: 600). "With this the challenger's Artiste's ATK is 4300!" Melissa exclaims (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 4300). "This is a pinch! A huge pinch!" She frantically calls it, and Jack leans down to grab an Action Card, which he studies intently. "Battle!" Yuzu interrupts him. "Get him, Assembled Nightingale! Attack Red Wyvern! Strike of the Whirlwind Violation!" She declares. Assembled Nightingale charges forwards and attacks with Strike of the Whirlwind Violation, destroying Red Wyvern in one hit (Jack's LP: 300). "3700 in one hit, this is some big damage!" Melissa gasps. "This is the end! Go Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic! Attack Jack Atlas directly!" Yuzu declares. "No way! Jack is going to lose?!" Melissa asks in horror. "King!" She screams. "Atlas!" Jack's fangirls scream. "Eternal Luminous Stream!" Yuzu declares, blasting a beam of light from its ring, and the attack hits home, surrounding the Duelists in smoke. Everyone in the stadium watches in shock, silent.

And Jack drives out of the smoke, his LP still at 300, surprising Yuzu. "I activate the Action Spell: Evasive Evasion and Special Summon a Evasive Evasion token! Once per turn, this token can negate an attack." Jack explains to the shocked Yuzu. "With this, Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic's attack was negated!" He states. The crowd cheers. "As expected of Atlas!" One of Jack's fangirls cheers. "He already has mastered Action Cards!" Another Jack's fangirls said. "But the amount of times Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic can attack change depending on its Fusion Material!" Yuzu explains. "With the Level 2 Aretha, it can attack twice! So I'll attack again!" She states. "Go, attack the Evasive Evasion token!" Yuzu declares. "Trap Activate: Reject Reborn!" Jack responded. "It negates an opponent's monster's attack and end the Battle Phase!" Jack explains and Musia's attack was negated. "And it destroys all monsters I control, and I can Special Summon as many monsters from my Graveyard as attacks were negated the turn!" Jack explains. "What?!" Yuzu shocked. "I negated two attacks!" Jack states. "Come back, Red Wyvern, Red Resonator!" He declares (ATK: 2400) (ATK: 600). "When Red Resonator is Special Summoned, I gain LP equal to the ATK of a Synchro Monster on the field!" Jack explains. "I gain Red Wyvern's ATK, 2400!" He stares (Jack's LP 2700). "Amazing! He didn't only avoid the attack, but also Summoned two monsters and recovered his LP!" Melissa calls it. "As expected of Jack! Our Jack! Ruler of rulers, the King of Kings!" She cheers. The crowd cheers. "I…end my turn" Yuzu said. "At this monument, Assembled Nightingale's ATK returns to 2500" She states (Assembled Nightingale's ATK: 2500). "Jack is amazing! He's the best!" Rin cheers. "Yuzu…" Yuya mutters in worry.

"You spoke of Entertainment Dueling as well, didn't you?" Jack tells Yuzu. He drops back beside Yuzu "But your Dueling is too conceited! It's far from being called Entertainment!" Jack tells her. Yuzu grits her in frustration. "You don't have enough power to stand before me!" Jack tells Yuzu, and accelerates forwards.

"My turn!" Jack declares and draws a card. "I Tune my Level 6 Red Wyvern with my Level 2 Red Resonator!" He declares. "Roar of the King! Shake the heavens and forge into yourself the power of the unrivaled tyrant! Synchro Summon! Rampaging Soul! Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!" Jack chants (ATK: 3000). "Once per turn, Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend can destroy all Special Summoned monsters with ATK lower than it, and deals 500 damage for each!" He explains. "Absolute Power Flame!" Jack declare and Scarlight gathers flames around its right arm, blasting the flames at Yuzu's monsters.

Both Musia and Assembled Nightingale were blasted backwards and destroyed, and Yuzu falls back (Yuzu's LP 3000). Powersliding "And now I attack directly with Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend! Infernal Crimson Hell Burning!" Jack declares. "Kneel before the King!" He tells Yuzu. The attack hits the ground in front of Yuzu's D-Wheel, blasting her into the air (Yuzu's LP: 0). "Yuzu!" Yuya screams as Yuzu lands on the asphalt and bounces into the air.

This card can be only equipped to an Xyz monster. The equipped monster's ATK increase the 500. You can also sent one Overlay unit to half the ATK of one Level 5 or higher monster on your opponent's Field, until the end of your turn.
