The Shattered Entertainment
The crowd cheers. "You spoke of Entertainment Dueling as well, didn't you?" Jack tells Yuzu. He drops back beside Yuzu "But your Dueling is too conceited! It's far from being called Entertainment!" Jack tells her. Yuzu grits her in frustration. "You don't have what it takes to climb up and face me!" Jack tells Yuzu. Powersliding "And now I attack directly with Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend! Infernal Crimson Hell Burning!" Jack declares. "Kneel before the King!" He tells Yuzu. The attack hits the ground in front of Yuzu's D-Wheel, blasting her into the air (Yuzu's LP: 0). "Yuzu!" Yuya screams as Yuzu lands on the asphalt and bounces into the air.
"That was the Friendship Cup's opening special match! The winner was, of course, our Duel King, Jack Atlas!" Melissa announces. "Jack! Jack! Jack!" The crowd responds by cheering fervently. Jack gets off Wheel of Fortune and towers oven the stricken Yuzu, who fell off her D-Wheel when she lost. "Jack really is strong!" Rin, a spectator in the stands, cheers. "Did you see that, Yuya?" She asks him, but then sees that Yuya was already rushing towards the track "Yuzu! Yuzu!" Yuya called out, desperately. Security personnel spot this as well and report to their boss over the phone "Understood, we will apprehend them" One of the Security personnel said, and they went to apprehend Yuya and Rin.
Yuya was being blocked by a group of Jack Atlas supporters just above the stairs "Excuse me! Please let me through! Hey!" Yuya tries to get through. "Yuzu!" He calls out. In the next moment, he sees a stretcher being carried towards Yuzu. Sam was overlooking the three paramedics about to carry Yuzu off. "My…I inherited my Dueling from Sir…!" Yuzu mutters. Clenching her fist "Don't you dare insult it, Jack!" Yuzu vows. Sam hears this with surprised. Meanwhile "Yuzu!" Yuya yells out as Rin caught up with Yuya "Hey, Yuya, it'll be fine calm down! There's no need to be that worried…" She tries to calm him down. Suddenly, someone behind her places a hand on her shoulder. Yuya scream then caught Rin attention "Hey, what is this!?" Yuya asks as another person similarly dressed in white and wearing shades restrains him. "Let me go!" Yuya demands as he and Rin overcome their restraints and, with their backs against each other's, confronted the two men. "Are you guys from Security? What're you doing!? Why do entrants to the Friendship Cup have to be arrested?!" Rin angrily asks. "Leave us alone!" She said. The three Security officers that reported to their boss earlier then arrive "Now then, will you two please accompany us?" One of the Security officers ushers Rin and Yuya. Rin And Yuya got ready to fight, but the two white-suited men stepped in front of them "We have been ordered by the Executive Council to escort these two to their lodgings" The first white-suited man say. "Even Public Security is not allowed to interfere in this matter" The second white-suited man states. "Huh? You're not Security?" Rin surprised.
The watching Roger slams his fist on his chessboard, scattering the pieces "Those shriveled-up idiots! They got in my way again!" Roger cursed. A while later, Rin and Yuya arrived at lodgings. "Our utmost apologies" The first white-suited man apologises. "We will now guide you to your rooms" The second white-suited man tells them. "Wait a minute, what about Yuzu? Where is Yuzu?!" Yuya asks. "Rest assured. She is also an entrant in the Friendship Cup, so she is being brought to the same lodgings" The second white-suited man says. Yuzu wakes up in said lodgings "Ow…" She mutters. Yuzu doesn't know where she was initially "I was in the Friendship Cup opening match…" Yuzu starts to remember

Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend's attack hits the ground in front of Yuzu's D-Wheel, blasting her into the air.

"That's right! I lost to Jack Atlas…" Yuzu remembers. She gets up and pulls the curtains open; she sees the Duel Palace from quite high up "This is…Where!?" Yuzu wonders. "Finally awake?" She hears a voice behind her, and once she turns, suddenly jumps with surprise at the five figures that stand before her. "Oh sorry. We weren't trying to frighten you" The white one apologises.
"W-when did you get in!?" A scared Yuzu wonders. "Wait you're transparent!" She realises. The white one chuckles "This is just 3D Vision. We aren't actually here…" He claims. "We can see you and converse" The one in yellow states. "Friendship Cup participates…" The short one state. "are our guest as well…" The female wearing blue state. "object of our observation, isn't that right, Chairman?" The tall one in orange asks. "Yes" The chairman, the one wearing white, affirms. "This the penthouse on highest floor above Executive Council building" He tells Yuzu. "I'm certain services similar to the best hotels have to offer provided, but how has your stay been?" The Chairman asks her. "That aside, where is everyone else!?" Yuzu doesn't respond to their question, instead asks her own. "Gongenzaka, Yuri and the others!" She inquires. "You do not need to worry" The yellow one tells Yuzu. "Everyone is here" The short one tells her. "Inside the same building" The women in blue tells her. "But you all in different rooms though" The one in red tells her. "Everyone is here!?" Yuzu shocked.
The Executive Council Council's room appears as a giant hall, with the Executive Council at their seat. "All 16 participants will live in this penthouse during the tournament" Gaul states. "But you may only stay as long you keep winning" Grey states. "If you lose, you must leave immediately" Azul tells her. "So since I lost to Jack, I can't be in the tournament…" Yuzu asks. "That was just an exhibition match. It is separate from the tournament matches. Isn't that right, Chairman?" Bordeaux clarifies. "Yes. Only those who lose in the Friendship Cup must leave" Taki confirms. "You didn't fall under those conditions, so you don't have to worry" He tells Yuzu. "But if you were to lose the next match…" Gaul reminds her. "Anyways, if you wish to remain here…" Grey remains her. "You must continue to win" Azuel reminds her. "That is all we came here to tell you" Bordeaux states. "That's all of it, farewell" Taki said. With that, the councillors' projections disappear "Wait! Is Yuya…!" Yuzu exclaims as they didn't give her time to ask about him.
"If Yuya is really in the Friendship Cup as well, then…He would be in the same building!" Yuzu decides to find Yuya. But, Yuzu finds that she's locked in. "It's won't open…?" Yuzu wonders. She starts banging on the door "Hey! Anyone! Is anyone out there!? If you're there, then answer! Is really nobody there!?" Yuzu shouts for attention; Sam was just outside, but unfortunately, he doesn't respond. Meanwhile, Reira, Reiji and Tsukikage were addressing the Executive Council directly. "Our apologise, but we would like for you to proceed there as well" Gaul tells them. "It seems Chief Roger of Public Security sees you as an enemy" Grey states. "If we let you stay at a regular hotel, they could attack at a moment's notices" Azul points out. "This is merely for you safety. Isn't that right Chairman?" Bordeaux states. "Yes. It might be a bit strict of us, but you are still free to move around this building" Taki clarifies. "Thank you for your consideration, As Reira is an entrant to the Friendship Cup as well…I have no complaints of having him being in the same lodging as the other Duelists" Reiji thanks the councillors, stating. Reira grips his rag doll as he hears what his brother was saying.
Meanwhile, a frustrated Yuzu slumps on her bed, but then notices she deck on her table which was glowing. In Rin's room, her deck was also glowing "Phew! Now this is relaxing! The life of a Friendship Cup competitor is good! I'd like to stay here forever…" Rin, too busy marvelling at her surroundings instead, wished. Meanwhile, Yuzu had picked up the glowing cards in her deck: Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra and Lyrilusc - Assembled Nightingale. "My Mozarta and Ruri's Assembled Nightingale…" Yuzu mutters.
(Flashback)
"Back then, the two artistes were acting like they were calling out to each other…" Yuzu remembers when she met Ruri. "And after than when Rin showed up, she Summoned her artiste too…" Yuzu remembers.
(Flashback ends)
"Then does that mean it's reacting to Rin's artiste right now!?" Yuzu deduces "If Rin is here, then Yuya must be close by…!" She affirms her initial suspicions that Yuya was nearby. "Yuya! Are you here!? If you can hear me, then answer! I've crossed dimensions to save you! Gongenzaka and Sawatari are with me too! Kurosaki and Dennis came too! Yuri too, we all want to save you!" Yuzu tries shouting again, addressing Yuya personally this time. "My Dad, Futoshi, Ayu, Tatsuya and Auntie are all worried about you!" She mentions. "That's why I definitely will save you! Then, with my Entertainment Dueling, I'll stop all this fighting…And make everyone from all dimensions smile!" Yuzu vows.
(Flashback)
"But your Dueling is too conceited! It's far from being called Entertainment!" Yuzu remembers Jack making fun of her dueling during that duel.

"Can I do it? Stop the fighting…And make everyone smile…? Can I…" Yuzu loses confidence in herself.
Meanwhile, Yuya was staring at his bracelet as it glows "The light is brighter than when we arrived at Duel Palace…" Yuya notes. "It must be because Yuzu and Rin are closer by than last night…!" He wonders. "Yuzu…" Yuya thinks. Meanwhile "Jack was strong…" Yuzu recalls.
(Flashback)
Strike of the Whirlwind Violation!" Yuzu declares. Assembled Nightingale charges forwards and attacks with Strike of the Whirlwind Violation, destroying Red Wyvern in one hit (Jack's LP: 300). "This is the end! Go Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic! Attack Jack Atlas directly!" Yuzu declares. I activate the Action Spell: Evasive Evasion and Special Summon a Evasive Evasion token! Once per turn, this token can negate an attack." Jack explains. "With this, Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic's attack was negated!" He states. "But the amount of times Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic can attack change depending on its Fusion Material!" Yuzu explains. "With the Level 2 Aretha, it can attack twice! So I'll attack again!" She states. "Go, attack the Evasive Evasion token!" Yuzu declares. "Trap Activate: Reject Reborn!" Jack responded. "It negates an opponent's monster's attack and end the Battle Phase!" Jack explains. "Reject Reborn can end the Battle Phase…If he had used it had I first attack with Assembled Nightingale, then all of my attacks would've been negated. But instead Jack decided to take Assembled Nightingale's attack…And acted as if he was playing his way out of do-or-die situation" Yuzu thinks. "And it destroys all monsters I control, and I can Special Summon as many monsters from my Graveyard as attacks were negated the turn!" Jack explains. "What?!" Yuzu shocked. "I negated two attacks!" Jack states. "Come back, Red Wyvern, Red Resonator!" He declares. "After that, he Synchro Summoned with those two he revived…" Yuzu recalls. "Roar of the King! Shake the heavens and forge into yourself the power of the unrivaled tyrant! Synchro Summon! Rampaging Soul! Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!" Jack chants (ATK: 3000). "Once per turn, Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend can destroy all Special Summoned monsters with ATK lower than it, and deals 500 damage for each!" He explains. "Absolute Power Flame!" Jack declares and Scarlight gathers flames around its right arm, blasting the flames at Yuzu's monsters.
Both Musia and Assembled Nightingale were blasted backwards and destroyed, and Yuzu falls back (Yuzu's LP 3000). "Kneel before the King!" Jack tells Yuzu. "Infernal Crimson Hell Burning!" He decalres. The attack hits the ground in front of Yuzu's D-Wheel, blasting her into the air.

"Reject Reborn was the card Jack Set on his first turn…So that means I was just dancing in the palm of his hand the entire time…Everything went as he planned…" Yuzu knew she fell hook, line and sinker for Jack's power plays, and lost the duel the way Jack expected her to. "That's Jack's Entertainment Dueling…He's way different than me who fell for his taunts and got riled up into thinking of only beating him…" She wonders. "It's just as Jack said, I don't have enough power to stand before him…And Sir too…Let alone ending the Dimensional War, I can't even bring smiles to this city…" Yuzu tries to accept that she's nowhere near Jack, or even Sir, and won't be able to make people smile, let alone bring peace to the dimensions. Suddenly, a card is slipped underneath Yuzu's door. After looking at the card "Who's there!? Someone is there right?! Answer, please!" Yuzu raise her voice, knowing that someone was outside. "It's…me…." Thankfully, the person outside responds. "Me?" Yuzu confused. "I was the one who guided you to the Duel Palace yesterday" The person introduces himself. "Guided…?" Yuzu repeats. She then gasps as she remembers

"Could it be that you were told not to talk to me…?" Yuzu asks. "No…that's not it" The boy replies.
(Flashback ends)
"What's your name?" Yuzu asks. "Sam…" Sam introduces himself. "Sam. Why did you give me the card?" Yuzu asks. "I want you to give that back to Jack please! When you win the Friendship Cup and fight him again!" Sam, after composing himself, asks Yuzu.
Meanwhile, on a helicopter adorned with the Friendship Cup logo "Now it's coming into view! Today the Duel Palace is filled with over 20,000 people!" Melissa reports. "And that makes sense because today is the day where you can witness the best City's Duels…The Friendship cup starts now!" She comments. "Following up my role in the exhibition match, I, Melissa Claire, am coming down to the Palace now! Here we go!" Melissa announces. With that, Melissa jumps out of the helicopter "Everyone in the City is one! We're all friends!" She declares, opening up a parachute with the phrase "We are friends" emblazoned across it, and lands to cheers from the crowd. Back at the penthouse "You want me to return this card to Jack…? What do you mean?" Yuzu, still locked in her room, asks Sam, who was just outside. "Jack was a star of hope for us Commons…He lived in the Slums just like us, and qualified for the Friendship Cup…I admired him as he beat Tops Duelists one after another. And three years ago, when he won and became the first Duel King from the Commons, I was as happy as if I had won myself! But after that, Jack changed" Sam explains. "Changed?" Yuzu asks.
Melissa has touched the ground inside the Duel Palace following her helicopter-backed entrance "Landing, OK! I really got it!" Melissa acknowledged her own popularity. "With that settled, let's start off by introducing our 16 qualified contestants!" She announces. "First off is her…! After being labeled as a failure of an Entertainer after her performance last night, The Inexperienced! Yuzu Hiragi!" Melissa introduces Yuzu. "Hey wait, even if she can't match up to the King, isn't that that a bit too mean? I wasn't the one who thought these lines up!" She comments. "Well, it's true that she is inexperienced" A spectator sat high up agrees. "I feel bad that she had to be compared to Atlas" Another spectator agrees. Meanwhile, Sam was still talking to Yuzu. "Immediately after becoming the King, Jack became the greatest star in City" He claims.
(Flashback)
"In the City, wealth gathers with the winners. As he kept winning he got even closer to wealthy companies, and Jack himself soon became as wealthy as the rest of them. And eventually he started to look down on us, the Commons" Sam claims. One day, Jack was about to walk the red carpet towards his next high-profile event "Hey!" Someone throws Sam onto the carpet in front of Jack. "Don't just march in here!" A man scolds him. Jack then walks up "King!" The man exclaims. Jack raises his hand up to stop the man. Sam gets up "Umm, I've always been you fan! Ever back then, when you were called the greatest Duelist from the Slums! I want to become like you!" He tried to address Jack, saying. "But right now I don't have any money or cards…That's why I'm cheering for you! That you'll continue be the representative of us Commons!" Sam admits. "If you don't have it, then let me give you, the card that suits you the most" Jack responded by giving Sam a card.

"Was it this card…?" Yuzu asks looking at Tuning Magician.
"Low Level…and a weak ATK monster. He said that suited me the most…" Sam trembles as he speaks, recalling what Jack said. "He mocking me! Even thought we were both Commons!" He interpreted this as a kick in the teeth; a dismissal of Jack's own past as a Common. Clenching his fist "Jack has changed! After becoming a King and rich, Jack sold his soul to the Tops, he's a traitor!" Sam says. " A traitor…?" Yuzu repeats. Meanwhile, Melissa was still announcing the competitors at the Duel Palace "And after Shinji Waver, we also have Crow Hogan from the Commons! Will they become the stars to succeed Jack?!" Melissa notes. However "What is she talking about? He isn't even a Common anymore!" The spectator who dismissed Yuzu before says. "As long as Jack keeps winning, he's one of us Tops!" The other spectator who also dismissed Yuzu before says. "Jack, she said?! He just sucked up to those Tops and betrayed us Commons!" Another spectator stood next to a railing lower down the Palace curses. "Quit saying that! Jack is still the hero of us Commons!" The spectator next to him said. "You picking a fight!?" The first spectator yells. "What was that?!" The second spectator yells. Soon, spectators were arguing with each other, leaving Melissa bewildered. As Jack looks on from his throne "Jack has become more and more arrogant, and now looks down on anyone aside from himself" Sam continues. "There are fans that may think that's cool, but I…That's why I want you to defeat him for me!" He tells Yuzu. "Why me?" Yuzu asks. "You told him "Don't you dare insult me!..."Sam says, remembering what Yuzu said after she lost.
(Flashback)
Clenching her fist "Don't you dare insult it, Jack!" Yuzu vows. "Since you were frustrated from your loss to Jack…" Sam said.
(Flashback ends)
"I was sure you'd understand my own frustration…" Sam hope. "Sam…" Yuzu whispers. Meanwhile "That is all for our introduction of the 16 qualified competitors, but…!" Melissa finished announcing the competitors. But the spectators were still squabbling "You aren't even listening, are you!?" She not pleased. "Hey, everyone! Don't you remember the slogan of this tournament!? Everyone in the City is one! We're all friends! Right?" Melissa tries to remind them. With no response "Jeez! I don't have time for this, so I'm going to move on! So with that, it's time to start the Duels! Who out of these 16 will be starting us off?!" Melissa said. " Crow Hogan and Noboru Gongenzaka" She introduces. With that, the door to Gongenzaka's penthouse room opens and he was greeted by a member of staff. As Gongenzaka march towards his destination "I, the man, Gongenzaka, will clear Yuzu's name!" He thinks. Afterwards, Crow follows Sam while staring at the photo of him and his orphans "I don't want to be their plaything, but…" He thinks. "Jack is watching this as well isn't he?" Crow wonders. "Yes" Sam confirms. "Then I'll show you! I'll show that traitor the strength of our bonds as Commons!" Crow vows. Meanwhile "Right now, I'm working for the people of Tops. So I know I don't have any right to be saying these things…But it's frustrating!" Sam thinks to himself. In Yuzu's penthouse room "I heard that you came from a different city. I feel bad for involving you when you aren't Tops or Commons but…I feel that you'll understand my frustrated feelings!" Yuzu recalls Sam apologizing to her as she look at Tuning Magician. "I do…I'm still frustrated even now!" Yuzu thinks. "I want to answer to Sam's feelings. But…Can I do it?" She wonders. As her two artiste cards continue to glow on the table behind her "If I fought Jack again as I am now…could I even win…?" Yuzu wonders.
