Opening Duel! Crow vs. Gongenzaka
Fireworks were being fired into the air above the Duel Palace "Now then, let's get to the introducing our competitors for the opening match! Crow Hogan and Noboru Gongenzaka!" Melissa announces. "Gongenza?" Yuzu surprised. "Gongenzaka?" Yuya surprised. "Gon?" Dennis surprised. "It's not me?! I should be the one kicking off this tournament!" Sawatari annoyed as Gongenzaka and Crow enters the arena. In the Administration Board's room, The Executive Council, Reiji, Reira and Tsukikage watches Crow and Gongenzaka. Gongenzaka was amazing by the D-Wheel, the then looks up were Jack was watching "I, the man, Gongenzaka will show you the power of the Lancers!" Gongenzaka vows. As Crow and Gonengezaka continues around the track "I don't want to be their plaything, but…if I'm going to do this, I'm going to win!" Crow thinks. "I'll win this and show the kids what we can do!" He vows. Meanwhile at the ticket booth "Just my luck, to be working today…" A Duel Palace's staff complains. "You got that right!" The other staff member agrees. The a ticket came the slot. The staff member notices and tear off the bottom part of the ticket "Go on in" He tells the person. The person was wearing a coat, hat and gloves, and a mask as he starts to walk in the person starts to wobbles "Looks like it went well" person whispers. "Yeah!" A second person whispers. "Hey, walk properly!" The third person tells the other two. "I that guy all right?" The second staff member wonders, as he and his colleague watches the man. "Hey, hold on a second!" The first staff member calls out. The man stops but the stumbles down reliving to be Tank, Frank and Amanda in disguises. "You kids!" The first staff member exclaims. "Run for it!" Frank exclaims as he gets up. "Hurry!" Amanda exclaims as she pulls Tanner up. "Wait for me!" Tanner exclaims.
"It's finally the start of the City's greatest Dueling Event, the Friendship Cup!" Melissa announces. "Will our first winner be Crow? Or perhaps Gongenzaka?" She wonders. "Atlas is the hero of the Tops! Don't clump him together with you!" A Top woman tells the Commons. "What kind of King is he!? He's just a traitor!" A Common man yells. "Jack is the hero of the Common!" Another Common man states. "Hey, are you guys even listening to me?" Melissa annoyed. The spectators starts to squabbles with one others. At the starting line "What the heck is going on with this tournament?" Gongenzaka confused. Crow just grits his teeth in frustration. "Jeez, I'm going to start it, all right?!" Melissa gives up. "Action Field: On! Field Spell: Crossover Acceleration!" She declares. A yellow pulse spreads across the sky, and the Action Cards scatter. "Duel Mode, Autopilot: Standby" Both D-Wheels declares. The holographic starting board appears in front of the Duelists and counts down. But then something catches Crow's eyes, it was the orphans being chase by Palace security. "Frank! Amanda! Tanner! Those guys…" Crow shocked. "Riding Duel…Acceleration!" Melissa declares as the count went down to zero, and both duelists went off "DUEL!" Both Duelists yell out.
Gongenzaka was quickly surprised by the D-Wheel's speed, While Crow lags behind. "Crow Hogan has fallen behind!" Melissa said. "Did those guys come to cheer me on?" Crow wonders. "They're being too risky!" He thinks. Gongenzaka was quickly confused by the Riding Duel and D-Wheel's constant movement. "Is Gongenzaka going to get the first corner?!" Melissa wonders. Gongenzaka was about to crash "He's going to crush!" Yuya exclaims. Gongenzaka grunts, and Crow went pass him. Gongenzaka gave a sign of relief. "Now that it's come to this, I need to end this quick!" Crow states to himself. "Crow Hogan has cleared the first corner and gets the first turn!" Melissa declares. The audiences starts to get rowdy "Weren't you cheering for him!? You're the traitor!" One of the supporters argues. "What was that?!" Another supporter argues. "Jeez we're working hard to make this exciting, you know!" Melissa states. The orphans were still being chased by Palace security "Hold it!" One of the Palace security yells. "My turn!" Crow declares. "When there are no cards on the field, I can Special Summon Blackwing - Gust the Backblast from my hand!" He states (ATK: 900). "And if there are any "Blackwing" monsters on the field, I can Special Summon the Tuner Monster Oroshi the Squall!" Crow states (ATK: 400). "I Tune my Level 2 Gust the Backblast with Oroshi the Squall!" He declares. "Pitch-black wings, piece the heavens and take flight! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Assault Blackwing - Kuniyoshi the White Rainbow!" Crow chants (ATK: 1000). "A Synchro Summon right off the bat? He truly is a worthy opponent" Gongenzaka states. Crow was looking up at the stands "What is he…?" Gongenzaka wonders why Crow was look at the stands, and he looked up to the stands, but notices nothing. "What is he looking for…" Gongenzaka mutters.
"Once per turn, Kuniyoshi the White Rainbow can send one "Blackwing" monster from my hand to my Graveyard and deal 300 damage to my opponent!" Crow explains as he sends Jetstream the Blue Sky to his Graveyard. Kuniyoshi then slash a gust of wind at Gongenzaka. "Crow Hogan starts to whittle away at his opponent's health on his first turn with a monster's effect!" Melissa announces (Gongenzaka's LP: 3700). "No more of that, I need to focus on the Duel" Gongenzaka states to himself. "And next I Summon the Tuner Monster, Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North!" Crow declares (ATK: 1300). "When this card is Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower "Blackwing" monster from my Graveyard in Defense Position!" He explains. "I Special Summon the Blackwing- Jetstream the Blue Sky that I had send to my Graveyard!" Crow states (DEF: 800). "I Tune my Level 1 Jetstream the Blue Sky with my Level 2 Blizzard the Far North!" He declares. "Jet-black wings, cut through the heavens with a flash! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Assault Blackwing - Kunisada the White Rainbow!" Crow chants (ATK: 1000). "Two Synchro Monsters? But both have only 1000 ATK…They are no threat" Gongenzaka observers. "Once per turn, Kunisada the White Rainbow can return a Level 3 or lower "Blackwing" monster from my Graveyard to my hand, And until my next draw phase, increase the ATK of all Synchro Blackwing monsters on my field by the returned monster's ATK!" Crow explains as he returns Blizzard the Far North to his hand. "They're increase by 1300, Blizzard the Far North's ATK!" He declares (Kuniyoshi's ATK: 2300) (Kunisada's ATK: 2300). "An ATK of 2300?!" Gongenzaka shocked. "I can't attack the turn I use this effect!" Crow explains. "I end my turn!" He states. "What's wrong with you, Crow…What're you rushing for?" Shinji wonders as he watches the duel.
"But my Steadfast spirit won't be shaken by this! I can handle anything you throw at me!" Gongenzaka states. Crow then looks back at the crowd "Where are they? Where are they?!" Crow wonders where the orphans were. "Don't tell me they got caught!?" He worried. "That guy…! He's looking at the crowd again!" Gongenzaka thinks. "Hey! Where do you think you're looking!? We're Dueling! Face me properly! That's the minimum respect you should have towards your opponent!" Gongenzaka annoyed. Crow looks back at Gongenzaka with an annoyed look. Crow and Gongenzaka continues around the track. "My turn! Draw!" Gongenzaka declare. "I Summon Superheavy Samurai Magnet!" He states (ATK: 900). "When this card is Summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower "Superheavy Samurai" monster from my hand!" Gongenzaka explains. "Come forth, the second Magnet!" He calls out (ATK: 900). "As long as Magnet is here, my opponent cannot attack any other monster!" Gongenzaka explains. "That means the two of them together protect each other from my opponent's monster and neither can be attacked! This is the move I have chosen out of my Steadfast style!" He states. "I end my turn!" Gongenzaka declares. "I don't have the patience for this…" Crow mutters, and he looks back to the crowd, looking for the orphans. The crowd continue to cheer.
"My turn! Draw!" Crow declares. "Kunisada the White Rainbow's effect ends and their ATK returns to normal!" Melissa declares (Kuniyoshi's ATK: 1000) (Kunisada's ATK: 1000). "I activate Kuniyoshi the White Rainbow's monster effect!" Crow declares. "By sending Blackwing - Harmattan the Dust to the Graveyard, I deal 300 damage to my opponent!" He states (Gongenzaka's LP: 3400). "Again?!" Gongenzaka annoyed. "Crow Hogan continues to whittle down his opponent's LP!" Melissa said. "I Summon Blizzard the Far North!" Crow declares (ATK: 1300). "And with Blizzard the Far North's monster effect, I Special Summon Harmattan the Dust from my Graveyard!" He states (DEF: 800). "He deals damage by sending Blackwings to the Graveyard with Kuniyoshi the White Rainbow…And then he Special Summon those Blackwings using Blizzard the Far North's effect! He has no wasteful movement" Gongenzaka observes. "Let's finish this right now!" Crow decides. "Harmattan the Dust can add its Level to another "Blackwing" monster on the field" He states. "The one I choose is Kuniyoshi the White Rainbow!" Crow declares. "Spread you pitch-black wings and fly along with the thunder's roar! Like a slash of lighting! Synchro Summon! Rain down! Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower!" He chants (ATK: 2600). "Three Synchro monsters?!" Gongenzaka shocked. "Raikiri the Rain Shower can once per turn destroy as many of my opponent's monsters as there are "Blackwing" monsters on the field!" Crow states. "You're destroying Magnet using an effect since it can't be done thorough battle!?" Gongenzaka realizes. "There are three Blackwings on my field! I destroy your two Magnets!" Crow declares and the two Magnets were destroyed. Gongenzaka grits his teeth in frustration. "Gongenzaka's Steadfast defense has been broken!" Melissa exclaims. "I attack directly with Raikiri the Rain Shower!" Crow declares. Raikiri blade starts to form lighting around it "Raikiri the Rain Shower's ATK is 2600! If this hits, it'll knock his LP all the way down to 800!" Yuya exclaims. Gongenzaka then notices an Action Card coming up. "It's an Action Card! Action Card are Spell Cards scattered throughout the Duel Field!" Melissa states. "Can Gongenzaka use it to avoid this damage?!" She wonders as Gongenzaka gets closer to the Action Card. Gongenzaka grunts, while Crow grits his teeth. Raikiri then send out a black wind from its blade.
Gongenzaka went past the Action Card "He ignored it!" Melissa exclaims. "What?!" Crow shocked. Raikiri's attack hits Gongenzaka. "Gongenzaka!" Yuzu yells out. Gongenzaka swerved out of the smoke (Gongenzaka's LP: 800). "Gongenzaka ignored the Action Card and took a huge hit of 2600 damage!" Melissa exclaims. "Isn't using Action Cards your style?" Gaul asks. "That is his own style" Reiji explains. "What's going on?" Crow confuse. "Well done crushing my Steadfast defense!" Gongenzaka tells Crow. "But when I have no Spell or Trap cards in my Graveyard, and I take damage from a direct attack, I can Special Summon this card in Defense Position!" He states. "Come forth! Superheavy Samurai Prepped Defense!" Gongenzaka declares (DEF: 2100). "So that's why he didn't use the Action Card then?" Crow wonders. "But its DEF is only 2100. I'll end this on my next turn!" He states. "Wait for me, Frank, Amanda, Tanner!" Crow thought. "I end my turn!" He declares. "My turn! Draw!" Gongenzaka declares and draws Superheavy Samurai General Coral. "I, using the Scale 1 Superheavy Samurai General Jade and the Scale 8 Superheavy Samurai General Coral, set the Pendulum Scale!" He declares. "With this, I'm able to simultaneously Summon monsters from Levels 2 to 7" Gongenzaka states. "Pendulum Summon! Come forth! Tuner Monster, Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter! (ATK: 300) Superheavy Samurai Flutist!" He chants (ATK: 500). The crowd was in shocked "He Special Summoned two monsters at once!" A commons man shocked. "He can use Pendulum Summoning too?!" Another commons man shocked. In the Director's office, Roger watches the Duel. "Once per turn, Superheavy Samurai General Jade can increase the Level of a Superheavy on the field by 1!" Gongenzaka explains. "I increase Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter's Level to 3!" He states (Trumpeter's LV: 3). "I Tune my Level 3 Superheavy Samurai Prepped Defense and Flutist, with my Level 3 Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!" Gongenzaka declares. "Immoveable like the mountains, Soul that dwells in those cliffs, come and tower before us! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 9! Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi!" He chants (DEF: 2500). "A Pendulum into a Synchro Summon!" Yuzu shocked. "That bastard, he went and evolved without even asking me! And on top of that, they're all getting excited over it!" Sawatari complains.
"Nice one Gongenzaka!" A commons man cheers. "He's pretty good, isn't he!" A common woman states. "What, no way! They're enjoying this?" Melissa surprised. "Then, is it time for Gongenzaka's counterattack!?" She wonders. "Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi's DEF is increased by 900 for each Special Summoned monster on my enemy's field!" Gongenzaka explains. "With three monsters, it's increase by 2700!" He declares (Kyubi's DEF: 5200). "A DEF of 5200!?" Crow shocked. "Additionally, this card can use its DEF to attack while in face-up Defense Position!" Gongenzaka explains. "It can attack in Defense Postion!?" Crow surprised. "And at that time, it can only attack the monster with the highest ATK!" Gongenzaka states. Flame came out of Kyubi's pipes, forming nine tails "I attack Raikiri the Rain Shower!" Gongenzaka declares and Kyubi sends out a blast of flame at Raikiri, destroying it (Crow's LP: 1400) (Kyubi's DEF: 4300). "Crow Hogan has taken 2600 damage in an instant!" Melissa exclaims. "This match has been decided" Gongenzaka states. Crow looks at Gongenzaka in worried. "Superheavy Samurai General Coral's Pendulum effect is whenever a "Superheavy" monster destroyed a monster in battle, It can destroy itself and allow Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi to attack again!" Gongenzaka states. "Again!?" Crow exclaims. "Damn it. If I had just left them in Defense Position…!" He cursed. "Kyubi's DEF is currently 4300. If it attack you 1000 ATK Kunisada the White Rainbow, you'll take 3300 damage and end this match" Gongenzaka points out. Crow gasps, and then closed his eyes "I wonder about that…" Crow said. Crow opens his eyes and looks back at Gongenzaka "You don't know the outcome of the match until it's over!" He tells Gongenzaka. "No, I know. Dueling is a battle with your opponent and with oneself! I won't be defeated by someone whose spirit is clouded!" Gongenzaka states. Crow gasps in shocked and looked the other way. He then notices Frank, Amanda and Tanner being surrounded on the steps by Palace security "Those guys!" Crow exclaims. Gongenzaka looks at the crowd. "Frank!" Amanda worried as the Palace security got closer. Frank grunts. "Run for it!" Crow yells out. Frank knocks down one of the Palace security "Let's go!" Frank yells as he runs away and Amanda and Tanner follow him. "Get back here!" One of the Palace securities yells as they went after them.
Crow grits his teeth. "Is that where your hesitation is coming from? Who are those kids?" Gongenzaka asks. Crow looks forward as he start to remember the day he met the kids.
(Flashback)
It was raining that day, and Crow pulled up under an Awning. Crow takes off his helmet, and then notice Frank, Amanda and Tanner huddling in an alley. Crow at first pay no attention to them, but then looking back at them seeing how scared they were. "At first I was just going to give them a meal and then chased them out…" Crow thinks. A while later the kids were eating the meal Crow gave them. "Eat it slowly, you're going to choke on it!" Crow tells them. Tanner then starts to choke "Hey, are you okay!" Crow worried. "Tanner!" Amanda exclaims. Tanner drank the soup and gave a sign of relief. "You've got a mustache!" Amanda points at Tanner. "Amanda, you do too!" Frank said. "And you've got one too, Frank!" Amanda points out. "I do?" Frank surprised. "He's got a mustache!" Amanda laughs. "Quit making fun of it, you've got one too!" Frank complains. "Mustache, mustache!" Tanner laughs. "You kids…" Crow smiles. "I wondered how many years it'd been since I'd smiled…So I ended up just letting them live there…" He thinks.

"If those guys weren't there, I don't know what would've happened to me! That's why I want to set an example for them!" Crow points out "I entered in this tournament so I can win and show them that we can do something!" He states. "An example…" Gongenzaka mutters. He then gasps "Than that means if I win now…" Gongenzaka realizes. Crow and Gongenzaka went around the corner. Crow looked at the crowd, with Gongenzaka following after to see the kids. Amanda was waving. "Hang in there, Crow!" Tanner cheers. "We're fine now! So you better do you best, Crow!" Frank tells him. Gongenzaka gasps and then looked the other way. "Crow Hogan!" Gongenzaka calls out. "You want to be a role model for those kids!?" He asks. "Then face me with your Dueling that you can bet everything on!" Gongenzaka declares. "Shouldn't you be showing those kids how you really Duel?" He points out, as the kids waved at them. Crow then realizes what he had been doing. "Now, face me, Crow! I won't hold back!" Gongenzaka tells him. "I destroy Superheavy Samurai General Coral and allow Kyubi to attack twice!" He declares, and Coral was destroyed and Kyubi produce nine new flame tails. "Go, Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi! Attack Kunisada the White Rainbow!" Gongenzaka declares and Kyubi sends out a blast of flame. "Is this it?!" Melissa wonders. Crow drives up and jumps over the side barrier and grabs an Action Card. "I activate the Action Card: Evasion!" Crow declares. "I negate a monster's effect!" He states as he lands. Both Crow and his Blackwings dodges the flame. "Crow Hogan made it through a pinch with an Action Card!" Melissa announces. The crowd got more excited. Yuzu watches the duel in silent. "Amazing Riding Technique… but you only have monsters with 1000 ATK on your field!" Gongenzaka points out. "You cannot defeat my Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi!" He states. "I end my turn!" Gongenzaka declares. "During my End Phase, if Superheavy Samurai General Jade is the only card in my Pendulum Zone, it is destroyed" He explains.
"A DEF of 4300…" Crow observes. "My turn! Draw!" He declares. "I activate the Spell Card: Against the Wind!" Crow declares. "I add Blizzard the Far North from my Graveyard to my hand and take its ATK as damage!" He explains (Crow's LP: 100). "Taking that much damage for a play…That's the spirit!" Gongenzaka states. "Now, face me, Crow!" He tells Crow. "I Summon Blizzard the Far North!" Crow declares (ATK: 1300). "I activate Blizzaird the Far North's effect!" He states. "Come forth, Jetstream the Blue Sky!" Crow calls out (DEF: 800). "I Tune my Level 1 Jetstream the Blue Sky with my Level 2 Blizzard the Far North!" He declares. "Pitch-black blade, echo with your wings! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Assault Blackwing - Kunifusa the White Rainbow!" Crow chants (ATK: 1000). "With another Synchro monster, you've increase Kyubi's DEF!" Gongenzaka states (Kyubi's DEF: 5200). "When Assault Blackwing - Kunifusa the White Rainbow is Synchro Summoned using "Blackwing" monsters as its Materials, It can be used as a Tuner Monster!" Crow states. "What?! As a Tuner?!" Gongenzaka shocked. "I Tune my Level 3 Kuniyoshi and Kunisada with my Level 3 Kunifusa!" Crow declares. "Pitch-black wings…Soar across the stratosphere and become a sword that can split the heavens! Synchro Summon! Descend! Assault Blackwing - Kusanagi the Gathering Storm!" He chants (ATK: 3000). "A Synchro Summon with three Synchro Monsters…!" Gongenzaka gasps (Kyubi's DEF: 3400). "And now Crow Hogan has pulled off a Synchro Summon! With fewer Synchro monsters on the field, Kyubi's DEF is reduced!" Melissa announces. Amanda waves her arms "That's it Crow!" Frank cheers. "Go for it!" Tanner cheers. "Here I come, Gongenzaka!" Crow tells him. "During the turn Kusanagi the Gathering Storm is Synchro Summoned, it gains the ATK of all "Blackwing" Synchro monster used as its Materials!" He explains (Kusanagi's ATK: 6000). "An ATK of 6000!?" Gongenzaka shocked. "Battle!" I attack Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi with Kusanagi the Gathering Storm!" Crow declares. "But I won't take any damage when Kyubi is destroyed in Defense Position!" Gongenzaka points out. "Kusanagi the Gathering Storm deals piecing damage when it attacks a monster in Defense Position!" Crow explains. "What!?" Gongenzaka shocked. Kusanagi raised it sword up to the air and lighting strikes it. Kusanagi slash a blade of lighting at Kyubi covering it in a bright light. Yuzu and Yuya gasps. "Gon!" Dennis exclaims. Gongenzaka grunted as his LP was wiped out (Gongenzaka's LP: 0).
"That did it! The winner of this first dramatic match is Crow Hogan!" Melissa announces. A picture of Crow with the word "WIN" on appeared around the Duel Place as the crowd gave a big cheer. Frank waves his arm "All right!" Amanda cheers and the waves both of her arms. "Crow won!" Tanner cheers. Crow stops his D-Wheel near the garget and takes off his helmet "A monster that can attack in Defense Position is so cheap!" Crow said. "Crow!" The kids called out to him, and Crow looked up to see them smiling and waving at him. Crow smiles back at them. "Nice on Crow!" One of the Palace's security cheers as the other gave a thumbs up. Then Frank and the two Palace's security notice one another. "Crap! Let's go, Amanda, Tanner!" Frank tells them, and the kids run off with the Palace's security chasing after them. "Hold it!" One of the Palace's security calls out. "Crow, good luck in your next match! We'll come cheer for you again!" Frank calls out. The managed to get away as a crowd of supports came down the stairs "Let us through, please!" One Palace's security asked the crowd of supports as he tries to get through. Crow continues to smile as he watches them, and the crowd continues to cheer. Gongenzaka walks toward Crow "Congratulations. You showed me your true Dueling" He tells Crow. Gongenzaka held out his hand. "Gongenzaka…" Crow surprised, but then take his hand and they both shake. The crowd continues to cheer. "I'm so moved Crow!" A male supporter cheers. "That was an amazing Duel!" A tops man cheers. Yuzu watches everyone cheering for that Duel. "The audience was just fighting so much…" Yuzu amazed. Gongenzaka walks though the garage with a smile on his face.
