Hi everyone Rosestar48 here! Today we'll have the last match of the first day, Yuri vs. Tony as well as learning Jack's past.
An Out-Of-Reach Shout
"In the third match of the Friendship cup, as Yuya dueled Tokumatsu… He tried his hardest to speak to my heart" Yuzu recalls. "The fun has just begun!" Yuya said. "Battle! I attack Lightshower with Odd-Eyes!" He declares "Go! Burning! Hot-bloodied!" Yuya yells out Shuzo phrase. Tokumatsu takes the effect of Performapal Odd-Eyes Rhyme (Tokumatsu's LP: 3600-2800). "How was that? Gave you the shivers, right?" Yuya reels off Futoshi lines and imitates his hand gestures. "And it was obviously a message to me" Yuzu states. "Yuzu, you're watching, right? You're not alone!" Yuya hope Yuzu can understand that she's not alone and Yuzu appears to recall some more of her memories. "That clinches it! A heart-pounding Duel that made your hands sweats…has just now been decided! Your winner is Yuya!" Melissa announces, just as he stops near the sheds and takes his helmet off in exhaustion. Yuya holds up his left hand and smiles "Yuzu… I did it! I gave it my all!" Yuya addressing Yuzu silently.
As the crowd continue to cheer Yuya's victory, Yuzu was still watching in her room. "Yuya definitely was thinking that I was beating myself up after losing to Jack…Not just Yuya…! Tokumatsu too…Even though he knew that if he lost, he'd be sent to the underground labor facility! He yelled that to me…"She tells herself. "Thank you, Yuya, Tokumatsu! You're feelings reach me!" Yuzu, shedding her tears, thanks them. "Thanks to Yuya and Enjoy Choijro's amazing Duel, all 20,000 members of the audience are as one again!" Melissa commentates "This is truly the Friendship Cup! You can do it if you try!" She says. "Now let's keep this mood up and get the next Duel started!" Melissa announces.
"All right, bring it on!" Sawatari anticipate his names being called out next. "After Yuya, I've got to be up next!" Rin anticipate her names being called out next. "The competitors who will be in the final match of the day are Yuri vs Tony!" Melissa announces. "Yuri!" Yuzu surprised by the announcement. "Yuri!" Yuya also surprised by the announcement. "After Yuya we have the enticing Duelist, Yuri! And the resident of the commons, Tony Simmons! I'm looking forward to this matchup!" Melissa announces. "It's not me again!?" Sawatari exasperated. "So I'm not up today, then?" Dennis reacts well. "If I had know it wasn't my turn, I would've stayed in this fluffy bed…I got all excited for nothing…" Rin complains as she lay down on the bed. "All right, I'm counting on you, Tony! Guide the Commons to action!" Shinji for his fellow Common. In Roger's office, Roger henchmen looks down in disappointment. "Are you upset that you aren't the one to fight this boy?" Roger wonders. "We're saving that for later" He tells his henchmen. As Sam leads Yuri out of her room at the Executive Council penthouse "If he is as good of a Duelist as I believe…he will have no problems winning his matches. Most likely, all the way to the finals. I'm sure he'll be quite popular too" Roger points out. "And then you will crush him. Then, after that, Jack Atlas!" He states and places a white pawn on the chessboard. "After those two have become popular for their abilities, you will crush them and shock the entire City. That is your role in this. I'm counting on you, Sergei" Roger tells him.
"If Yuri loses, he'll be send underground. I can't let that happen! I won't accept this!" Yuzu still not pleased at the consequence for the losers at the Friendship Cup. "They go on calling this a Friendship Cup while they know people who lose are sent underground!" She thinks. "Cut this out, council! You're listening aren't you!? Stop this tournament right now! Quit making a show out of us!" Yuzu raising her voice tells them. A while later "Tony and Yuri's back and forth duel has this stadium on edge! It's a heated game, fitting to be today's final match!" Mellissa commentates as Yuri's Starving Venom Fusion Dragon equipped with Carnivore Claw trails Tony's three Archfiend Zombie-Skull. "Go for it, Tony!" A Commons male cheers, as wells as the other Commons. "Right now, Tony is at 3000 LP, and Yuri is at 2500!" Melissa states (Tony's LP: 3000) (Archfiend Zombie-Skull ATK: 2500x3) (Yuri's LP: 2500) (Starving Venom Fusion Dragon's ATK: 2400). "Will he be able to make a comeback this turn!?" She wonders. "My turn!" Yuri declares and draws. "I Summon Preadaplant Aldrovatrictor!" He declares (ATK: 1000). "And I activate the Spell Card: Polymerization from my hand!" Yuri declares. "I fuse Starving Venom Fusion Dragon and Aldrovatrictor!" He states. "Poisonous dragon with hungry fangs! Constrictor that flourishes waterwheel! Spiral into the cosmic's pressure and become a new power! Fusion Summon! Come to me! Sinuous carnivore that frolic thought twilight gardens! Starving Venom Celestial Dragon!" Yuri chants (ATK: 2800). "There it is! Yuri has Fusion Summoned once again!" Melissa announces. "Yuya did as well, but I wonder if these lovely male Duelists of this new age all use Fusion?" She wonders. "And now that I look closely, their faces look the same…" Melissa notices the similarities in Yuya and Yuri's appearances. "Maybe they're sibling?" She wonders. "Oh? Siblings, you say? I see..." Roger mused.
"I activate the Trap Card: Bottomless Trap Hole!" Tony responds to the Fusion Summon. "When my opponent Summons a monster with an ATK of 1500 or more, the monster is destroyed and banished!" He explains and a giant hole with a goblin coming out of it appeared. "Useless!" Yuri yells out as he dodges it. "Starving Venom Celestial Dragon can't be destroyed by my opponent's card effect!" Yuri states. "What?!" Tony shocked. "Starving Venom Celestial Dragon can attack all of my opponent's monsters twice!" Yuri says. "All of them twice?!" Tony shocked. "Battle! I attack Archfiend Zombie-Skull with Celestial Dragon!" Yuri declares and Celestial Dragon attacks one of the Archfiend Zombie-Skulls (Tony's LP: 2700). "You dealt damage, but you can't destroy them then?" Tony notes as he takes the first hit. "Then I win!" He states. "I activate Equip Spell: Zombie Heart!" Tony declares. "At the end of the turn that the equipped monster battles with another monster with higher ATK, It deals its own ATK, 2500, as damage to my opponent!" He explains. "Your remaining LP is at 2500! You're going to regret not ending it in one attack!" Tony infers that Yuri will lose at the end of the turn. "That's true. I wasn't able to destroy it in the first attack…Just the first attack, that is" Yuri, undeterred, said. "What did you say?!" Tony confused. "Go, Celestial Dragon! Attack Zombie-Skull a second time!" Yuri declares and this time, it is destroyed (Tony's LP: 2400). Tony serves out of control, but got his balance back. "It's destroy on the second attack! And at the same time. Celestial Dragon's ATK increases by 200 until the end of the Battle Phase!" Yuri states (Celestial Dragon's ATK: 3000). "Then that means it'll attack twice next time with 3000, and then the third with 3200…!" Tony does the calculations in his head. "That's right! After this forth attack, your life will run out. It looks like you're the one who will be left with regrets!" Yuri states. "Tony…!" The watching Shinji feels helpless.
The scene turns to the Executive Council hall. "And now the two of them have been destroyed by the two attacks! And the last attack has finished this Duel" Melissa announces as the scene turns to the Executive Council hall. Reira was keeping his head down while with his brother Reiji who was watching. "Brother cares about Tsukikage over me…" Reira mutters. "Our winner is Yuri! After Yuya Sakaki, we have another cool male Duelist winning!" Melissa duly announces. "You see that, men and woman?! Now the exquisite men are a part of the Dueling era!" She tells them. "There are no men or woman here" The watching Roger calmly dismisses. "As a fellow Duelist, I wonder what kind of training he has received" He compliments Yuri's training. "He seems to have been under quite proficient tutelage. He will not betray your expectations" Roger tells Sergei. "Yuri…" Yuzu feeling relieved for Yuri. "And with this, all of the matches of the first day of the Friendship Cup are finished!" Melissa concludes proceedings for the day as Yuzu falls back on her bed and gave out a sign. "Everyone! Did you have fun!?" Melissa addresses the crowd directly and the spectators respond with cheers and applause. "Yes! That's what I want to hear! Then let's say out slogan on last time! The City is one!" Melissa tries to rally the spectators with one last chant of the Friendship Cup slogan. "Huh?" She notices that they're already beginning to leave the Duel Palace. "The exits are this way! Please don't push, no pushing!" A staff member leads the audience out of the Duel Palace. "H-Hey! It's we're all friends right? At least get it right at the end! Jeez!" Melissa complains.
Yuzu switches off the screen in her room "We're all friends? What kind of crap is that…" Yuzu dismissed the Friendship Cup slogan completely. "Those who lose are sent underground, how is this a Friendship Cup!?" She knows what happens to the losers. "Yuri won, but now Tony is…" Yuzu feels sorry for Tony whose fate awaits him underground. Yuzu then get up from the bed "Tony was sent underground because he lost! D-Doing things like this is wrong! I won't accept this! I'll never will! This kind of tournament-!" Yuzu refused to accept the Friendship Cup by its name. "But what can I do right now…Even if I scream my heart out here…I can't change the council's mind…" She knew she can't do anything about it. Meanwhile "For the first day they have 1 win and two loses" Gael notes. "It looks like you were able to save face at the end" Gray notes. "Is Yuya Sakaki, the boy who won before this, a Lancer?" Azul wonders. "It is true that he as well is a Duelist from the Standard Dimension like us. He most certainly is of the same calibre as our other Lancer members" Reiji tells her. "Then if we were to include him, that would be 2 wins and 2 losses" Bordeaux deduces. "I feel these results are a bit unsettling when you say have come to our Dimension to protect us…Isn't that right, Chairman?" He notes. "Yes" White Taki agrees. "Well, we'll be expecting more from you tomorrow!" He said. "Well pardon me, we will excuse ourselves" Reiji thanks the councillors and begins to leave. "Wait a moment" White Taki stops them. "Since we watched the first day of the tournament together, would you mind joining us for a meal while we hear your thoughts on the results?" White Taki invites Reiji and Reira for a special dinner. "As it would be, we have invited a special guest" He states. "Who would that be?" Reiji asks. "Know by all as the greatest Duelist" Gael merely states. "The opponent your Lancers couldn't lay a finger on" Gray states. "The pride of our City" Azul states. "The Duel King" Bordeaux says. "Yes, him" White Taki said. The duelist in question slams the door open behind Reiji and Reira. "J-Jack…Atlas!" Reira states Jack Atlas' name with a tremble in his voice.
Meanwhile "How come I, the ace of LDS and the top Duelist among the Lancers, me, Shingo Sawatari…! Wasn't put on the stage on the first day of the tournament!" Sawatari complains. "There is no way something as stupid as this should be allowed! No it isn't good at all! That's obvious! I'll get Papa to fire to fire all the of the tournaments officials! I'll fire all of them, you hear me!" He declares, and crunches his fist thinking about it. Just then the door bell rang and a trolley rolls into Sawatari's room, containing his meal. Sawatari's stomach growls "Well, I'll let them off with this feast as an apology" Sawatari decides to calm down and accept the meal as an apology, and starts to drool, but quickly wiped it off. "But I'd better be out there playing tomorrow! I'll show you how amazing I am!" He vows to the tournament organisers. Meanwhile, "This food is delicious! This is the first time I've eaten something this good!" Rin tucks into her meal gleefully, but the chokes on a roll and quickly had some orange juice. "I'm really glad I entered the Friendship Cup!" She says. "Yuya's probably thanking me right now!" Rin hopes, and continues to eat her meal. "But, didn't he enter the tournament to warn people about the Dimensional War? But instead of that, he went around saying things like Hot-Blooded! and Shivers! during his Duel!" Rin remembers. "Oh well, I'll just knock their socks off tomorrow!" She said. Rin eats another roll "Delicious!" She exclaims. Yuya himself was tucking into his meal slowly "I gave it all in my Duel…But I don't know if Yuzu heard it or if it cheered her up…" Yuya wonders. As his bracelet glows again, he looks at it "It'd be nice if I could see her and talk to her" Yuya wished.
Later that night, Yuzu was sat on her bed holding her deck. "I don't know what I can do right now. But I can't stay depressed!" Yuzu said as she recalls Yuya's Duel.

Yuya reaches for an Action Card in the air. Tokumatsu turns to face the camera, making a V-gesture with his fingers.

"For Yuya and Tokumatsu who cheered me on…I have to do something!" Yuzu states.
(Flashback)
Jack drops back beside Yuzu "Your Dueling is too conceited! It's far from being called Entertainment!" Yuzu recalls the way Jack threw mud at her style of dueling.
(Flashback ends)
"Could it be this is what Jack was trying to tell me!? To Duel not for myself, but for others…?!" Yuzu wonders. "No, it can't be!" She said.
(Flashback)
"His Dueling didn't have any kindness in it!" Yuzu thinks as she remembers the way he defeated her.

"There's no way that is true Entertainment" Yuzu doubts. She flips over the top card in her deck, Smile World "Entertainment to me definitely is Sir's Dueling…Being able to make the audience, and even Duelists competing all smile is true Entertainment! Isn't that right, Sir?" Yuzu believes.
Meanwhile Reiji and Reira was having their dinner meet with Executive Council and Jack. "So out of all the Duelists from the first day, Yuya Sakaki stood out the most?" Gael asks Jack. "His skills aside, it was clear that he was trying to express something" Jack clarifies. "That is true he was trying to express something…" Azul agrees. "Enjoy Choujirou answered to it splendidly! Their Duel was really quite amazing!" White Taki says as Reira continues to stare blankly downwards, which Reiji notices. "Well of course, you did have your eyes on him, Chairman!" Gray comments. "It is a shame he was defeated" Azul comments. "Now he won't ever…" Bordeaux starts to say, but then stops and takes a sip of his tea. "Oh, excuse me" Bordeaux said. "That boy was on the list of players as well, right?" Jack realises. "My apologies, due to certain circumstances, we had it changed to someone else" Reiji tells Jack. "That Tsukikage ninja fellow you mean?" White Taki remembers. "It seems you expected something out of him I believe…" He wonders. Reiji doesn't answer, and Reira continues to stare down and squeaks his bear "Tsu…Tsukikage…" Reira says slowly. "I would love to see that boy's Dueling" Jack admits. Reira looks up at Jack when he said that. "Reira's Dueling? Why would that be?" Reiji asks. "I had those same eyes" Jack says.

"Back then, I was always afraid of something, living with my nerves on edge" Jack recalls as he remembers his past.

"Yes, it was right around your age" Jack states to Reira. "I see. Excuse me, but I heard that you were born a Common, King?" Reiji points out. "It isn't anything to excuse yourself for. Because I was born a Common and experienced living life at its lowest…I was able to find the resolve to rise up and win my way out of there. Being a Common is the main source of my pride" Jack says. "I was wondering if he grew up in the same environment as I had" He wonders. "As expected of the King. I will answer with that you are perceptive" Reiji compliments Jack's observation. "Huh? Really? Isn't that child your younger brother?" White Taki surprises. Reiji ignores them "Sorry if I'm being too invasive, but I wish to know how you came to walk down the path of a Duelist." He asks Jack. "It could be a learning experience for Reira" Reiji wants Reira to hear Jack's words carefully. Jack takes a sip of his coffee "For me it was a single card" Jack says.
(Flashback)
The Card in card in question floated down from Tops in front in front of Jack during one windy, grey day. Jack was about to pick it up, but heisted. Jack look at the card and then he look around for anyone, he then picked up the card, then got up to look at it. Jack looks around again, and then he looks up. "That card fell from the heights of the Tops' city. Maybe someone dropped it by mistake, Or they threw it away as they didn't need it anymore. It was most likely the latter" Jack says. The card in question was Tuning Magician, obscured by sunlight when Jack first looked at it. "That card had no spectacular worth or value, but…The instant I looked at it I was hit with a starting revelation" Jack realizes. Jack then looks up at the Tops' city. As the clouds rolled away to reveal more sunlight "And I thought…I have to return card to the world above those skies. With my own hands" Jack knew. "As a person, and as a Duelist. Stronger than anyone" He knew.

"I've heard that you two have come from a foreign land" Jack addresses Reiji. "I won't question your reasoning for entering your comrades in the Friendship Cup..." He states. "But if you are trying to accomplish something…" Jack said. "Do not falter!" He tells Reiji. Reira gasps when he hears this. "You're called Reira, yes?" Jack addresses Reira. "I look forward to seeing you battle when you found your own resolve" He hopes. Reira stutters. "It is an honor" Reiji hounded that Jack, himself has personally told Reira this. "I am certain Reira is very proud to hear it from the Duel King himself" He's sure. Reira looks down again just as Reiji and Jack look at him.
Meanwhile "E-Excuse me, I have a letter for you" Sam said and slips a letter underneath Duel Chaser 227's room. The Duel Chaser goes to read it "Th-this is-! From the Chief!" Duel Chaser 227 gasps. "It has been a while, Number 227. No, let me allow you to refer to you by your former title, Duel Chaser. I shall call you Duel Chaser 227. Based on the match schedule the I have received for tomorrow's matches, You will be facing off against Yuzu Hiragi in the first match" Roger reveals. "It is a pity it is not Rin, the one who disgraced you, but…Please make sure to soundly defeat Yuzu Hiragi. If you defeat her, I will permit the reinstatement of your position" He promised. "I-I knew it! The Chief hasn't…! H-he hasn't abandoned me!" Duel Chaser 227 happy that his boss hasn't given up on him. "After losing to that Rin in a Duel, I…! I was demoted to the Commons and was chased day after day by my former members on the force as a criminal! And just when I thought I would be sent off to jail after being arrested…I was invited to this penthouse! I finally understand why all of this happened!" He exclaims. The letter also came with a Fusion Monster Card; the Duel Chaser picks it up "Please watch, Chief. This time I will answer to your expectations. With this card I will…!" Duel Chaser 227 said.
A few more hours pass and Yuzu was still sitting on her bed, having not touch her trolley of food since last night. She stares at Smile World on top of her deck. Eventually, the sun rises. Yuzu gets up to greet the new day, and pulls the curtains open as seagulls fly across the view of the Duel Palace and the highway system. "The Dueling I'm working towards is for sure Sir's!" Yuzu reiterates her belief "I won't accept Jack's Dueling! Or Friendship Cup" She denounce. "A tournament where you have to trample over and bring misfortune to others to win is wrong! I just have to make everyone understand that!" Yuzu vows to make people realize just how wrong it is.
