"Everyone know what happens to the losers in the Friendship Cup?" Yuzu asks. "They're sent to the Forced Labor Institute Underground" She states. The crowd cheers "I told everyone the truth about the Friendship Cup, but nobody listened" Yuzu reminisced. "The winner is…" Duel Chaser 227 starts. "Me!" Both of them declare. Yuzu also remembers her Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra knocking the Duel Chaser off his D-Wheel when she launched the final attack of the duel (DC227's LP: 0). "No. This isn't it" Yuzu denies. "The Duel I believe in isn't-!" She could believe what she had done. "Stop! Don't send him to the Underground!" She tried to prevent the Duel Chaser from being taken away but was restrained as Jack Atlas looked on, unmoved. "Quit it!" One of the staff members tells Yuzu as she struggles to get through. "Let go! Let me go!" Yuzu cries out.
Yuzu was escorted back to her room at the Executive Council penthouse. Sam notices her walking in glumly as he closes the door to Yuzu's room. "Why did I Duel like that…?" Yuzu confuses. "It's my fault they sent him to the Underground…" She blames herself when the screen in her room turns on. "The next match of the Friendship Cup is Rin vs Shingo Sawatari!" Melissa announces. "Sawatari…" Yuya surprised to hear Sawatari's name. "It's him" Dennis just smiles with expectation. Reiji and Reira watches in silent. "Why is it Shingo again" Sawatari laments as he didn't hear his name be called out. "It's about time I, Shingo Sawatari, got my turn-" He complains. "…Eh" Sawatari stops himself. "Shingo…" He notices his name on the screen. "That's me!" Sawatari realizes. A while later, Rin was preparing to meet the Duel Palace track on her D-Wheel "Alright alright alright alright!" Rin excited. "The moment I've been waiting for is finally here" She states. "Watch this, Yugo" Rin said. "I'll definitely win and fulfill our promise" She vows. Rin looks at the entrance for the track "Oh yeah, I should talk about the interdimensional war in Yuya's place" She thought. "Sorry for the long wait, everyone!" Melissa apologizes. "Our Duelists make their entrance!" She announces. "Alright!" Rin yells out as she enters. "First up is Rin!" Melissa introduces. Rin lands Her D-Wheel and went off to the starting line. "And next, Shingo Sawatari!" Melissa introduces. "The wait is over!" Sawatari proclaims as he enters. "The star of the Friendship Cup, Shingo Sawatari, makes his debut!" He tells the spectators. As he waves to the crowd "Who do you think you are?" A Commons man asks. "Some star you are!" Another Commons man yells. "I don't know you!" A third Commons man states. "Our eyes net!" A fourth Commons man exclaims.
Rin smiles at the reception given to Sawatari. "Rin…" Yuya worries for her as he looks on. At the starting line "An excited, lively audience" Sawatari oblivious to the crowd's reception. "This stage was mad efor me!" He claims. "I won't settle for a subpar duel" Sawatari tells Rin. "Right back at you" Rin replies. "Let's see if you're more than talk" Sawatari states. "Sparks fly between our contestants even before we begin!" Melissa excited. "Now, let's start!" She states. "Action Field: On! Field Spell: Crossover Acceleration!" Melissa declares and the Action Cards were spread out . "Duel Mode On! Autopilot: Standby" Both D-Wheels announces and counts down to the start of their duel. "Riding Duel…Acceleration!" Melissa declares as the count went down to zero, and both duelists went off "DUEL!" Both Duelists yell out. "I'm taking the first move!" Rin speeds in front as they reach the first corner, however, Sawatari tries a wheelie and almost loses control before managing to put his front wheel down again; he speeds past Rin just as they both turn the corner. "He got ahead!" Melissa exclaims. "Taking the first corner and the first turn is Shingo Sawatari!" She declares. "That was close" Sawatari exhausted by his wheelie attempt. "You're not bad" Rim comments. "How'd like my Riding technique?" Sawatari asked Rin. "But I'm getting serious now" He states. "Time to lick off my entertainment theatre!" Sawatari declares. "I'll put on the ultimate performance!" He announces. The watching Yuzu wasn't cheered up by Sawatari's attempt to emulate her.
"My turn!" Sawatari starts. "I, using the Scale 3 Abyss Actor – Extrasand the Scale 8 Abyss Actor - Funky Comedian, set the Pendulum Scale!" He declares. "I'm able to Summon Level 4 to 7 monsters simultaneously!" Sawatari states. "Pendulum Summon! Appear, my monsters!" He chants. "First up is Abyss Actor – Superstar! (ATK: 2500) "Next, Abyss Actor - Sassy Rookie!" Sawatari declares (ATK: 1700). "Shingo Sawatari quickly launched his entertainment theatre and Pendulum Summon!" Melissa marvels; it appears to excite the Commons spectators and puzzle the Tops. "Looks like you're not all talk" Rin impressed. "We're not pumped yet" Sawatari says. "With Superstar's effect, I add an Abyss Script to my hand and…" He explains as he adds Abyss Script - Opening Ceremony. "Activate! Abyss Script - Opening Ceremony!" Sawatari declares. Opening Ceremony brings out a display of fireworks in an imaginary night sky "With its effect, I increase my LP by 500 points for every Abyss Actor in Attack Position on the field!" Sawatari explains. "I have two monsters, so my LP increase by 1000!" He states as he holds out his arms as he rides through the imaginary Abyss Actor gate also created by the Opening Ceremony (Sawatari's LP: 5000). "I end my turn" Sawatari announces. The audience gave a rowdy cheer.
"Now, it's your turn" Sawatari tells Rin. "I'm not holding back!" Rin states. "My turn!" She declares. "This card can be Special Summoned when there are no monsters on my field" Rin explains. "Appear! Windwitch-Chill Bell!" She calls out (ATK: 1200). "When there are Wind-attribute monsters on my field, I can Special Summon this card from my hand!" Rin explains. "Come! Windwitch-Frigid Bell!" She calls out (ATK: 600). "Next, I Normal Summon the Tuner Monster, Windwitch-Wintry Bell from my hand!" Rin states (ATK: 100). "I Tune the Level 3 Chill Bell and Frigid Bell with Level 1 Wintry Bell!" She declares. "Winds of winter, snow and ice! Become my power to blow everything away! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Windwitch-Winter Bell!" Rin chants (ATK: 2400). "Rin wasted no time in Synchro Summoning!" Melissa notes. "Level 7 with 2400 ATK. Here comes a strong one!" She exclaims, the watching Yuzu suddenly notices her deck glow. Reiji, watching at the Executive Council hall, keeps an eye on Rin "Rin…" He mutters. "A artiste, huh…" Sawatari observes. "A fitting antagonist" He comments. "Sawatari's Entertainment Theatre! In today's programme, Slaughter the Witch!" Sawatari states. "I'll cut you down in one go!" He's confident of his monsters being witch slayers. "Just try it!" Rin responds. "I activate the Spell Card: Wind Draw!" She declares. "Now for every Windwitch monsters in my Graveyard, I get to draw one card!" Rin explains. "I activate the Equip Spell: Ice Fin and equip it to Winter Bell!" She declares. "Now, Winter Bell gains 100 ATK!" Rin states (Winter Bell's ATK: 2500) "I attack Sassy Rookie with Winter Bell!" She declares and Winter Bells fires a beam. "I activate Sassy Rookie's Monster Effect!" Sawatari declares. "Once per turn, I negate its destruction!" He explains, and a barrier surrounds Sassy Rookie, and the beam hits. "But you take damage" Rin points out. Sawatari struggles to stay on the track (Sawatari's LP: 4200). "And now, I activate the other effect of Ice Fin!" Rin declares. "When equipped monster deal damage to my opponent I get to draw one card" She explains. "Next I activate the Equip Spell: Winter Veil and equipped to Winter Bell!" Rin declares "I set two card face-down and end my turn" She states
"Shingo Sawatari! His increased LP was taken down in one blow!" Melissa comments. "Will his starring role be snatched away?!" She wonders as Yuzu picks out the second card in her deck, Mozarta the Melodious Pendulum Maestra, as being responsible for the glow. "Mozarta…" Yuzu whispers. "My turn, draw!" Sawatari declares. "This level of damage?" He scoffs. "As long as I've got the Pendulum Summon, I, Shingo Sawatari, am the star of this Entertainment Theatre!" Sawatari proudly boasts. "I activate the Continuous Trap: Witch's Brace, and target Winter Bell!" Rin declares. "The Special Summon of any opponent's monsters with ATK equal or lower than Winter Bell's original ATK is negated!" She explains. "Now you can't Pendulum Summon any monsters with 2400 or lower ATK" Rin states. "Sealing the Pendulum!?" Sawatari realizes that it means his Pendulum Summons was all but locked out. "Next I activate the Continuous Trap: Follow Wing, and target Winter Bell!" Rin declares. "Winter Bell cannot be destroyed in battle, and when attacked by a Level 5 or higher monster…That monster is destroyed and Winter Bell gains its ATK!" She explains. "Your monster can't be destroyed, and you destroy one of my monsters while increasing your ATK!" Sawatari deduces, and he speeds away. "My field is now set" Rin states. "You're getting slain instead!" She's confident of her next move. The crowd cheers. "You're pretty good. But the least the villain can do is keep up the excitement!" Sawatari compliments Rin's moves. "I Summon Abyss Actor - Leading Lady from my hand!" He declares (ATK: 1500). "You summoned a Level 4 monster out of desperation?" Rin comments. "A monster like that can't beat Winter Bell!" She says. "Is that so?" Sawatari comments. "I can chase Winter Bell off the field without battle destruction" He merely states. "With Superstar's effect, when I add Abyss Script - Fantasy Magic to my hand, I can return my opponent's monster back to their hand!" Sawatari proclaims. "I'm the star of the Entertainment Duel!" He claims. "I activate Superstar's Effect!" Sawatari declares. "At this point, I activate Winter Veil's effect!" Rin counters. "When a Level 5 or higher monster activates its effect, I negate that monster's effect and destroy it!" She explains. "Trichromatic Reflector!" Rin declares and Superstar was destroyed and Winter Bell gained Superstar's ATK (Winter Bell's ATK: 5000). "Dammit!" Sawatari cursed. "Winter Veil seals the effects of all Level 5 and above monsters!" Rin states.
Yuzu was still in her room, staring at her glowing Mozarta card. "Winter Bell is more than a match for him" Yuzu suddenly speaks at the same time as Rin. "But if I win, Sawatari will get sent to the Underground…" She worried for Sawatari. "Eh? 'I'?" Yuzu realizes that she was referring to herself instead of Rin. Back at the Duel Palace "I activate the Continuous Spell: Abyss Prop - Wild Wagon from my hand!" Sawatari declares. "There's no way I'd get done in that easily!" He says. "The thirty-six tactic of war-he who runs my live to fight another day!" Sawatari proclaims as Leading Lady and Sassy Rookie jump on the wagon and retreat. "Lady and Rookie have made a run for it!" Melissa comments. "I won't let you get away!" Rin, with Yuzu's voice in tow, says, and then speeds up. The smiling Rin was the changed to a serious Yuzu. "The artiste is hot on the tails of Leading Lady and Sassy Rookie!" Melissa points out. Winter Bell hymns. "What will become of them?!" Melissa wonders. "There's no use running! Give up!" Rin tells Sawatari. "Don't mess with me!" Sawatari annoyed. "The wicked artiste's master serves evil!" He counters. "I end my turn!" Sawatari states. "Winter Veil's effect is terminated in the End Phase!" Yuzu explains. "ATK returns to normal!" Rin explains (Winter Bell's ATK: 2500). "My turn!" She declares. "I attack Leading Lady with Windwitch-Winter Bell!" Rin proclaims and Winter Bells gets read to fire. "Now…" Rin said. "That's 1000 points of damage!" Yuzu states and Winter Bell fires its beam. "The foul and wicked artiste evades the knight and attacks the Heroine!" Melissa commentates. "I activate the effect of Abyss Prop - Wild Wagon!" Sawatari declares. "Once per turn, I negate battle destruction of Abyss Actor Pendulum Monsters!" He explains as a barrier was form and the beam hits it. "But you take damage" Yuzu's voice states. Sawatari again swerves as he takes damage (Sawatari's LP: 3200). "And since I deal damage, my Ice Fin's effect let's me draw one card!" Rin states.
"Since I've taken damage, I activate Leading Lady's monster effect!" Sawatari declares. "Once per turn, one of my opponent's monsters loses original ATK equal to the battle damage inflicted!" He explains. "That means Winter Bell's ATK goes from 2500 down to 1500!" Melissa commentates. Rin and Yuzu gasp simultaneously. "Did you think I had nothing else to show?" Sawatari comments. "Take this!" He declares. As Leading Lady casts her magic on Winter Bell "I activate Winter Veil's effect!" Rin (with Yuzu's voice in tow) declares. "When the equipped monster is targeted by the effect of a Level 5 or higher monster…" She explains. "That monster effect is negated…and the monster is destroyed!" Yuzu explains. "Trichromatic Reflector!" Rin declares and Winter Bell fire light from its fins. "Wild Wagon's other effect!" Sawatari declares. "Because of this card, Leading Lady will not be targeted by my opponent's Spell, Trap or monster effect this turn!" He explains as a barrier appeared (Winter Bell's ATK: 1500). Both Rin and Yuzu gasp. "Now that Winter Bell's ATK is lower, Witch's Brace's effect dims!" Sawatari notes. "That means I can Pendulum Summon any number of monsters with more than 1400 ATK!" He points out. "You've been driven into a corner" Sawatari comments. "What a surprising twist!" Melissa exclaims. "We thought Shingo Sawatari was cornered, but instead it ended up being Rin!" She commentates as both Rin and Yuzu gave a serious look. "Rin…" The watching Yuya worries about Rin. "You're pretty good yourself" Rin comments. "But I won't lose that easily" Yuzu states. "Turn end!" Rin, with Yuzu's voice in tow, declares.
"It's too late to realize how awesome I am now" Sawatari interprets. "Sawatari Theatre raises the curtains on the final act!" He vows. "My turn!" Sawatari declares. "I Pendulum Summon with the set scale!" He proclaims. "Revive from my Extra Deck, Superstar!" Sawatari calls out. "Abyss Actor-Superstar steps on stage again!" Melissa exclaims (ATK: 2500). "Next, I activate Funky Comedian's Pendulum Effect!" Sawatari declares. "I add Abyss Actor-Superstar to the Extra Deck and add its ATK to Sassy Rookie's until the End Phase!" He explains (Sassy Rookie's ATK: 4200). "I attack Winter Bell with Sassy Rookie!" Sawatari declares. "Level 4 Sassy Rookie cannot be targeted by Follow Wings' effect!" He states and Sassy Rookie kicks Winter Bell, but thanks to Follow Wing Winter Bell wasn't destroyed. Rin protected herself from the smoke (Rin's LP: 1300) "Rin takes 2700 points of damage all at once!" Melissa comments as it changed to a serious Yuzu. "Next, Winter Bell's ATK decrease by the amount of battle damage due to Leading Lady's monster effect!" Sawatari points outs (Winter Bell's ATK: 0). "Windwitch-Winter Bell's ATK is reduced to zero!" Melissa exclaims. "It's settled!" Sawatari states. "You have 1300 LP left" He taunts. "Leading Lady's last kiss shall seal The End" Sawatari mocks. "Now that Rin's cornered, is it over for her?" Melissa commentates as Yuya had his hands clasped together, as he watches and hears Melissa's commentary. "Now, we're finally at the climax!" Sawatari proclaims. "I attack Winter Bell with Leading Lady!" He declares. As Leading Lady got closer, Rin spots an Action Card "An Action Card!" Yuzu exclaims as she also see it through Rin's eyes. Rin reaches for the Action Card and grabs it, and then an apparitionof Yuzu appeared over Rin. The watching Yuya was taken aback completely. "Rin grabbed an Action Card!" Melissa commentates excitedly as the apparition of Yuzu fades back to Rin. "I activate the Action Spell: Miracle!" Rin declares. "I negate battle destruction of a monster in battle, and battle damage us halved!" She explains, Leading Lady hits Winter Bell and there was an explosion, Rin then swerves out of control (Rin's LP: 550).
"She held on!" Melissa commentates. "Yu-" Yuya mutters. "Yuzu…" He's wonders if he's seeing Yuzu duel somehow. "We're not done yet! The curtains have yet to fall!" Sawatari points out. "It's been a while since I've had such a fiery duel!" He admits. "But like I've been saying, I'm the star of the Entertainment Duel!" Sawatari proclaims. "I'll settle in the next turn!" He states. "I end my turn!" Sawatari declares (Sassy Rookie's ATK: 1700). "Rin's holding on, but she only has 550 LP left!" Melissa commentates as it shows a serious Yuzu. "Does she have a way to strike back?" She wonders. "I do!" Yuzu states. "As long as that card comes to me!" Rin, with Yuzu's voice in tow, responds. "My turn!" She declares, and gets ready to draw. "Draw!" Rin yells. "Draw!" Yuzu declares. "It's here!" Rin exclaims as she looks at the card she drew. She begins to visualize a strategy involving the card leading back to her Winter Bell. "I Summon Windwitch-Frosty Bell from my hand!" Rin declares (ATK: 1400). "When this card is Summoned, I can Special Summon one Level 3 or lower Windwitch monster from my Graveyard!" She explains. "I Special Summon Wintry Bell!" Rin proclaims (ATK: 100). "You're gonna Synchro Summon?" Sawatari wonders. "Even if you bring out a side character now, it's too late" He thinks. "I tune the Level 4 Frosty Bell with the Level 1 Wintry Bell!" Yuzu declares. "Dazzling figure nurtured by both fins, spread them and ascend to the sky! Synchro Summon! Appear! Level 5! Windwitch- Tundra Bell!" Rin chants (ATK: 2000). "I Release Tundra Bell and give its effect to all monsters in the field!" He declares, and Tundra Bells dissipates and light partials covers all the monster on the field. "Gives its effect?" Sawatari confused. "Yeah" Rin said. "When the Level of any monster on the field changes, that Level is increased by one" She explains. "How pointless" Sawatari states. "It's already over for you" He points out. "It's over for you!" Rin responds. "The fun has just begun!" Both Yuzu and Rin declares.
Sawatari gasps as does the watching Yuya. Reiji, also watching remains unmoved. "I activate the Spell Card: Velocious Re-Level!" Rin declares. "I banish one Windwitch from my Graveyard so all monsters on the field become the same Level as the banished Tundra Bell!" She explains (Winter Bell's LV: 5) (Sassy Rookie's LV: 5) (Leading Lady's LV: 5). "All monsters became Level 5!" Melissa exclaims. "Next, I activate Tundra Bell's effect and raise all Levels by 1!" Rin declares (Winter Bell's LV: 6) (Sassy Rookie's LV: 6) (Leading Lady's LV: 6). "That's why you released Thundra Bell!" Sawatari realizes. "I activate Winter Veil's effect!" Yuzu declares. "Leading Lady and Sassy Rookie are both over Level 5, so their effects are negated and they're destroyed!" Rin states. "Trichromatic Reflector!" She yells out and both Leading Lady and Sassy Rookie were destroyed. "The destroyed Leading Lady and Sassy Rookie have 1500 ATK and 1700 ATK respectively!" Rin points out. "Winter Bell's ATK increase by 3200!" She states (Winter Bell's ATK: 3200). As Yuya watches on "Go! Windwitch-Winter Bell!" Rin (with Yuzu's voice in tow again) yells. "Attack Shingo Sawatari direcly!" They ordered as Winter Bell ascends to the skies. Sawatari, Melissa and the audience all gasps as they looked up. Winter Bell then hymns and dives down "Maelstrom Dash Icicle Slasher!" Rin and Yuzu declares, and Maelstrom Dash Icicle Slasher rains down on Sawatari from above (Sawatari's LP: 0). "It's settled!" Melissa exclaims. "A grand duel with twist after another!" She states as Sawatari's D-Wheel blows out. "The one who clinched victory in the end is Rin!" Melissa proudly announce, while Rin had parked her D-Wheel. Meanwhile, Yuzu was smiling, then as her cards stopped glowing, she turns into a dazes. She then notices she's still in her room.
Meanwhile "Alright! Made it through the first round!" Rin celebrates. "I kinda got all fired up, funnily" She wonders if she got too excited. "Ah…huh?" Rin confused. "It feels like I had something I wanted to say…" She tries to remember. "Well, whatever!" Rin laughs it off. However "Rin turned into Yuzu there…" Yuya knows. "Dammit…and I was so close!" Sawatari frustrated and throws down his helmet. "Nice Sawatari!" A Commons man cheers. "Sawatari Theatre's the best!" Another Commons man cheers. "Look over here!" A third Commons man calls out. "That was fun!" A fourth Commons man cheers. "SAWATARI!" Some girls cheers. As he hears all the cheers, Sawatari smiles, before bowing with respect. "Please watch! Their duel brought the stadium's atmosphere to its highest point!" Melissa notes. Sawatari then notices Rin. "Hey!" Sawatari calls out to Rin as she was about to take off her helmet. "What are you doing? Answer them!" He tells her as he approaches her. "Can't you hear these cheer?!" Sawatari asks Rin. "Our duel touched the audience-!" He starts saying. "From here, you kinda look like Yuzu" Sawatari notices. "Huh?" Rin said and she takes off her helmet. "Well, it seems that way" Rin wonders. "No, you look exactly alike" Sawatari states. "I'd even say you're like two peas in a pod…" He tries to clarify what he said, but two burly men have gathered behind him. One places a hand on Sawatari's shoulder "You're done here, right?" The man said. "Come along now" He beckons then grab Sawatari's arms and lift him off the ground. The watching Yuzu sees him struggle against the two men's grip "Sa…" Yuzu whisper. "Sawartari…" She mutters.
