Chapter 27

"We read SO much!" Chusi decreed. "Tomorrow, Ryomen and I are going to walk through the gardens!"

It was an eventful dinner. Chusi was telling Yua about her 'date' with Ryomen. They spent the rest of the day in the library reading.

"There are so many books in there, I learned a lot. But I am curious to the theory of curse energy. There are many different variations as to how it came to be." He explained.

"Really? What are some examples?" Yua asked curiously.

Ryomen, oddly stretched himself out rather proudly as if he was about to show off.

"There have been various discussions as to how to came. Some believe that the first sorcerer was able to cultivate it through various means of mediation. Curse energy is made from negative emotions of humans. However, the energy itself becomes alive when released from the body. It either manifests itself or it is devoured by a greater manifestation. So either a curse will eat it, or it eat more energy to become a solid curse. Also sorcerers absorb curse energy. They don't release it unless it is a form of technique."

The table paused. "That's interesting… but that is ONE method or hypothesis?" she asked.

"Indeed, Ryomen and I read though other methods. One even involves a dragon!" Chusi explained.

"A dragon?" asked Satoru.

"Thousands upon thousands of years ago, there was a great disturbance in the world, which caused negative energy to manifest and become living. Many believe it was due to a dragon's death. The resentment of the dragon caused the same emotions from the people of earth to manifest and become whole. Due to this, another dragon interfered, and taught a handful of humans how to create and harness curse energy. But there was a price to pay, such power corrupted the minds of humans, many who gain such power went insane with it, and ultimately ended up destroying them. It took time for the sorcerers to control and balance their power. When they succeeded, they used this to fight of and manage the curses that had suddenly festered in the world. Until the day the fallen one appeared."

Yua paused, she shifted her look to Chusi who merely nodded to her.

"We stopped after that since, the fallen one was defeated, but it didn't set the world at ease, the curses grew stronger. So did the sorcerers, and yet even so, the sorcerers have had troubles of their own, for they need that bit of madness to control their power. Interesting isn't it?" Ryomen asked.

"My family had always said we were born with it naturally. I knew that was bullshit" Satoru chimed in. "Ahem… Ryomen, after dinner. I would like to talk to you about something, and then, if approved, I will like to speak with Chusi about something too,"

"Okay…" Chusi said with uncertainty.

When the meal was finished, it was time to for sleep. They saw to each other their rooms, yet when Yua entered hers with Chusi, Chusi closed the door but appeared a little crazed. "Spill, what was that about!" she demanded.

Yua… couldn't speak for a moment. But there were tears. "Satoru… asked if he could take care of me." She said gently.

Chusi froze. "What?"

"We talked while we soaked in the bath. I told him about our clan, and even showed him my slight baby belly. He was heartbroken thinking I was 'married' I played along and said I wasn't. He was pissed off thinking someone had had their fun and then dumped me after."

"Are you serious?" Chusi asked with disbelief.

Yua smiled and nodded. "But… what really caught me off guard was what he said after. 'At least, let me stay at your side… hell I got another sorcerer I could introduce you to! He's not as strong as me, but he will defend you,' He just remembered Suguru then and there… not by name, but he knew he had a best friend to count on."

"Told you so" Chusi said with a grin on her lips. "Wow… to think it took memory loss for Satoru to act this way…"

"How's Ryomen doing?"

She smiled. "He was reading today but, he said that he felt that the person he is now, isn't who is truly is. He felt terrible since he feels as if he is lying to me for such a reason… Isn't he adorable!"

Adorable wouldn't have been the word she would have gone for… Sensible yes! But… it is rather sweet to think that he is taking into consideration her feelings…

"Slowly but surely huh?" she asked.

"Not bad for a day without memories right?"

"Either way, tell me more about this library…"

"She is so hot…"

Satoru laid on his bed, just peering into the ceiling as he spoke about his 'date' with Yua.

Ryomen of course listened but paused oddly. "She's pregnant?" he asked.

Satoru's smile vanished, but he nodded. "I get what you said earlier… about loving and leaving them so suddenly… when I heard that happened to her I just… I was so pissed off!" Satoru sat up in his bed as he peered at Ryomen. "Look, I could care less if she doesn't like me in the end, hell I'll introduce her to Suguru if needed… by the way I remembered I have a best friend…" Satoru said offhandedly.

Ryomen smirked. "Me too, that thought came to me when I read a book about brewing alcohol. You're friend is Suguru? Mine is named Toshi, apparently we share a hobby of brewing sake"

"Nice!" Satoru decreed. He then paused. "So, I think I got to admit defeat here… I best get my streaking done and over with tomorrow…"

Ryomen snickered. "Good thing there are no cameras around here huh?"

"Don't remind me… but… Ryomen… call me crazy but… is there something we can do to help those two? They are the last of their clan, I think they need someone to watch out for them. I have offered but I don't know…"

"I thought the same thing,"

Satoru paused, Ryomen took a seat at the side of his bed as he appeared deep in thought. "I know this clan has had many hardships that were not necessary nor should they have been put into such a place. Honestly, I feel… rather guilty"

"Guilty?"

"I can't explain it right now, but, I agree with you completely. Let's see if the ladies have a safe place to go, if not. Let's invite them to stay with us."

"We don't even remember where we live!" Satoru protested. "That's the thing, how do we invite them if we can't remember where we stay!?"

"That is a situation… at the same time this memory loss thing is to pass, we are slowly starting to recall things and understand it better. Even so, I know we are powerful. The two of us together, I doubt there is anything in this world that could stop us!" Ryomen decreed.

Satoru smiled and nodded to that rather proudly. "You and I could cause some damage…"

"SOME damage?" Ryomen asked with a perplexed looked. "Just me going easy on you, I killed you ten times during our spar session. You and I sparred without jujutsu, but I have a feeling if we did have our power… we could probably level a city…"

"No argument!" Satoru said rather proudly. "But, do we offer that to them? Let them come with us if they want to? If not… how about we go with them?"

Ryomen froze to the notion. "Let's do that" he decreed. "If they wish to stay where they are, then we go to them… if they will have us."

Satoru agreed.

"You ought to take Yua to the library." Ryomen said and gave a small smirk. "Women like a well read man…"

"It's so quite, and there's nothing to do but read!" Satoru protested.

"Yes, and yet reading as a whole different affect on you when the lady is comfortable, she eases her way on to my lap, only to lean against my chest in comfort…" Ryomen said in a hinting tone.

Satoru suddenly had the urge to find a really good book…
