So I have had this character it the back of my mind for a long time, but this is the first time that I am writing her story. I hope to flesh her out more in this retelling of the Yugioh series.
I hope you follow along with me on this journey.
I don't own Yugioh only my OC and my design of the Millennium Bracelet.
Please read and review.
Destiny is Strange.
It had been a few weeks since Yugi's duel with Kaiba and all the friends were at school and this time Joey was dueling Téa he was sat for a good few minutes not doing anything making Tristan get a little frustrated at nothing happening.
"Come on Joey" he huffed "make a move already."
"Ok here you go my Rock Ogre's gonna rock your block off!" He said with a massive confident grin.
Téa didn't seem the least bit fazed as she turned over her card to reveal a small ball with wings on it.
"Yeah Téa" Joey scoffed excitedly "like that wimpy card can stand up to my giant rock guy. Give it up!"
"I guess I don't stand a chance" Téa said still not sounding concerned Claire smiled in understanding as she played a magic card. "Unless I use the Breath of Light card."
"Huh? Can she do that?" Joey asked, surprised, he really thought that he had finally won the Duel against her.
"Oh yeah" Yugi said he had his chin resting on the palm of his hand as he watched the Duel. "The Breath of Light wears down rock monsters, reduces them to rubble."
"That brings your life points down to zero Joey, once again you lose and I rock!" Téa said with a triumphant smile on her face.
"You really stink at this game" Tristan said.
After school Claire Yugi and Joey were hanging outside Joey was a bit down, why could he never beat Téa? He decided that he would ask Yugi and Claire for some advice.
"Tristan's right guys I do stink I can't win a duel against anybody, tell me what I'm doing wrong" his frustration evident in his voice, Claire felt a little bad for him, he had lost a lot of duels.
"A good place to start is by checking your deck" Yugi said after hopping down from the railing he had perched on and walked closer.
"Oh, ok" Joey said before digging through his pockets. A few moments later he pulled out the stack of cards "here you go." Claire moved over to look over Yugi's shoulder as he began flicking through the deck. Yugi and Claire quickly saw the glaring issue there were no magic or trap cards.
"No one can win with these it's just all monster cards" Yugi said as Claire sighed a little bit.
"Where are your magic and trap cards? Claire asked raising an eyebrow at Joey as she looked over at him. Joey didn't really understand the problem so he shrugged.
"I filled my deck with every butt kicking monster I could get my hands on, I don't need traps and spells." He said with a small shrug.
"Yes you do" Claire told him closing her eyes and sighing once more.
"You need to combine your monsters with your magic and trap cards to increase their strength or protect them from oncoming attacks." Yugi explained. "With no magic in your deck, your monsters will get creamed every time."
"See that's the kind of stuff that I need to know, teach me Yugi please!" He begged running up to Yugi leaning down slightly to look Yugi in the eye to beg.
"Gramps is the expert he taught Yugi and I, maybe we could ask him to give you some valuable pointers." Claire suggested as she looked over at Joey.
Yugi nodded so they decided to walk to the game shop.
"Hey Grandpa we bought you a new student!" Yugi happily exclaimed as he walked through the door his eyes filled with excitement at the prospect of Joey truly learning Duel Monsters and who better to teach him than his Grandpa? Also he and Claire could be there to help out and also Duel Joey as he gets better and better.
Grandpa was currently finishing up hanging a new poster on the wall it had a dark red dragon with a chain around it's neck, it was roaring at a knight in extravagant amour of midnight blue and gold accents.
The old man was standing on a small step stool to reach the place he wanted the poster. He then turned around with a questioning hum gazing at the three teens that walked into the door.
"Student?" He asked as they walked up to him Joey smiled brightly at Yugi and Claire's Grandpa.
"I was hoping since you know more about Duel Monsters...maybe you'd teach me?" He said the last part hopefully as he really wanted to learn.
"Me? Teach you?" Grandpa asked curiously.
"You taught us two really well" Claire said with a smile.
"Yes I know, but Duel monsters is a very complex game" Grandpa stated in a matter of fact way while nodding at Claire.
"Yeah I know Téa beat me three games in a row" Joey said in slight annoyance.
"I do believe that it was five times Joey." Claire said with a small giggle counting back to the games he played with said girl.
"Yep definitely five" Yugi confirmed.
"Five?" Joey asked as his brown eyes widened in shock. "You two serious?"
"Yes Joey we are." Claire patted his shoulder hoping to give him a little comfort.
Joey looked up at the poster a knight in shining armour fighting a dragon Joey wondered if it was a reference to the fairy tales he would hear when younger about a brave knight who would go fight a dragon to save a Princess being locked up in a tower, he didn't have much time to ponder though as Yugi and Claire's Grandpa spoke up.
"Yes I could teach you how to be a great tournament duellist." Grandpa then turned to Joey with a very serious expression "but only if you're willing to spend endless days and sleepless nights filled with rigorous training" he said tone matching his expression.
"Piece of cake!" Joey happily said as he winked at Grandpa hoping that would convince him.
Claire sighed a little as she knew that her Grandpa wouldn't like the fact that Joey didn't seem to taking this conversation seriously enough.
"With an attitude like that teaching you might not be worth my effort!" Grandpa's tone got a little frustrated, maybe he was trying to see how serious Joey really was. Making Joey surprised and started to panic.
"Nice going there smart mouth!" Yugi exasperated how could Joey do such a silly thing? Joey then got on his knees in front of Claire and Yugi and then bowing his head to the floor.
"Please Yugi Claire you gotta help me convince your Grandpa!" He begged the two.
"Joey Grandpa is quite stubborn and very particular who he takes on as students." Claire explained with a small sigh.
"Claire's right and it just might be too big of a challenge, even for Grandpa" Yugi explained.
"Now now you two hold your horses, it's not impossible" Grandpa said hiding the smile he had at the two teens cheek.
"You mean it Gramps? You'll teach me?" Joey asked eyes wide with a mixture of hope and fear that he would say no.
"Joey if Grandpa said he can't do it then he can't do it" Yugi said a small smile passed between him and Claire they knew Grandpa would say otherwise to that.
"I never said I couldn't do it" Grandpa said with a huff at the two before turning back to Joey. "But if I do teach you then you must work hard." He said stern voice back.
"I'll do anything I promise I promise" Joey said while vigorously nodding his head.
And so for the next hour or more Joey was questioned about different cards, naming the strongest and the weakest, telling the difference between trap and spells and what fusion monsters he knew about.
A few weeks later the gang was hanging out in the Muto living room, watching the final match of the Duel Monsters Regional Championship. It was about to start so Claire was getting some drinks together and Grandpa made some popcorn.
"Ladies and gentlemen our last match is two who have quickly climbed the ranks please give a warm welcome to Weevil Underwood, the bug brawler!" The game host announced as a short boy with pale aqua bowl cut hair walked out.
He wore a long bright green coat that had an open collar and reached his knees, dark grey trousers, a ruffled shirt with a big red bow tie on his face was large yellow glasses.
"And his opponent is Rex Raptor the Dino Duelist" another boy with long dark brown hair shoved under a red hat walked to the Duel box and to Weevil. He looked slightly more casual than his opponent with a dark green turtle next and a thin tan vest and dark trousers. They both shock each others hands and then went to sit down in the Duel box to begin the match.
"Bug boy Vs Dinosaur breath?" Joey asked "what kind of match is that? It should've been me in there" Joey said he had been training hard for the past few weeks and Dueled with Claire and Yugi when finishing with Grandpa.
"I know you've been training for weeks, but those guys are in another league, you're just not ready yet." Téa said hoping to settle him down.
"Oh right, yeah rub it in" Joey pretended to sulk as he crossed his arms and closed his eyes.
"Oh yeah and on top of that you've been training so hard you can barely keep your eyes open" Yugi said with a bit of a cheeky grin remembering all the incidents the past few weeks.
Grandpa had been pretty harsh on Joey in his training sessions. Claire remembered one scenario that kept happening. Whenever Joey collapsed onto the about to fall asleep grandpa would come over and slam a big stick on the table in front of Joey.
He would then shout loudly at him that there was no time to rest, this would always make Joey jump and get back to his training.
"Yeah and you've been improving. But Gramps has been really tough on him" Claire said as she absent mindfully fiddled with her Millennium Bracelet.
At this time Joey had started to fall asleep and slightly snore which made Tristan grin.
"You see it's true what they say" Tristan whispered before turning the volume up a notch "you snooze you lose!"
Joey opened his eyes a crack giving Tristan a sleepy confused gaze before realising what had happened and he groaned.
"I must have been nuts to think I could ever learn this crazy game." He moaned as he lowered his head.
Before anyone could say anything else another voice spoke from behind them.
"Time for your lesson" Grandpa said, everyone looked at him he was carrying a white box that had blue and green strips on.
"What? We're not done?!" Joey exclaimed in dismay. As he looked round at his teacher.
"Not by a long shot you slacker" Grandpa reprimanded but after Joey let out a groan Grandpa begin to speak once more. "Now quit you whining Joseph, I know that you've been working long and hard but you really are coming along as a Duellist" his tone got softer at the end which made Claire smile.
"You mean in Gramps?" Joey asked getting a little teary eyed, he felt a swell of gratitude, it had been a long time since someone gave him that kind of praise. He went to give the old man a hug but Grandpa quickly side stepped him making Joey fall off the sofa.
"Oh by the way Yugi! This package came for you" he said as he held the box out to Yugi.
"A package?" Yugi asked "what is it Gramps?"
"I don't know it just came in the mail" Grandpa explained. Yugi took it from his Grandpa and had a look at who it was from his eyes widened and he gave a gasp.
"It's from Industrial Illusions" he said not quite believing his eyes.
Claire stopped fiddling with her Bracelet her eyes drifted to it the thin gold bangle type bracelet was very plain the only thing on it was an eye made out of the same gold and the band it looked a little similar to Yugi's Puzzle. She wondered why? Why Yugi?
"Industrial Illusions?!" Joey exclaimed in shock as he hoped over the sofa to sit next to Yugi once more. "They're the ones that made the Duel Monsters game, why the heck are they sending a package to you Yuge?"
"I have no idea" Yugi admitted "is it possible they heard the defeated the world champion?" He wondered.
"You mean Kaiba?" Téa asked.
"Wasn't Kaiba supposed to be in this tournament?" Tristan asked referring back to the finals that where about to start.
"Yeah, he was. But I don't think that he's come out of his coma, Kaiba corp seems to be keeping it under wraps." Yugi said as he looked down, how did Kaiba get into that state in the first place? "I know that our Duel wasn't official." Yugi trailed off as he still tried to remember all the details of the Duel.
"Just hearing Kaiba's name gives me a headache" Joey said, before it could be discussed further loud cheering came from the TV which made everyone look at it.
"Woah guys Raptor just stomped Weevil!" Tristan exclaimed looking a little interested in the game.
"Yugi, Claire these guys any good?" Joey asked although he didn't take his eyes off of the screen.
Claire jumped slightly her head shooting up as she looked at the group before she could answer Yugi beat her to it.
"Oh yeah they're both pretty tough customers, Weevil specializes in insect card and it an excellent strategist, then you got Rex Raptor and his dinosaur cards. He uses they're power to overwhelm his opponents." Yugi explained he and Claire had been watching all the Duels so far so they had been able to see what strategies they used.
"Itsy bitsy bugs against dueling dinosaurs?" Joey asked with a bit of laugh in his voice "Raptors got this one in the bag."
"I wouldn't be so sure" Yugi said which made Claire nod in agreement.
"Don't count Weevil out yet." She said as she continued to watch the Duel unfold.
"Alright Weevil consider yourself Dinosaur chow" Rex said smugly as he summoned his Two Headed King Rex with 1600 attack points. The purple two headed Dinosaur roared at Weevil while standing tall behind the Duel table. "Your move Weevil." He said.
"All I have is this weak little bug" Weevil sniggered before placing his monster in attack mode. It was the Basic Insect a large green bug that looked like an oversized ant with 500 attack points appeared behind Weevil.
"He plays a wimpy bug against a giant dinosaur?" Joey asked slight baffled by what he was seeing. "The place will be covered in bug guts!"
"Maybe, but I wouldn't underestimate Weevil" Yugi said.
"King Rex let's take this championship" Rex commanded "stomp him!" The dinosaur made to go for the bug which caused Weevil to snigger once more.
"You've attacked your way into my trap" Weevil grinned more "but then how could your tiny dinosaur brain know?" He questioned rhetorically his eyes squinting more at Rex behind his glasses. "When a monster attacks my Vortex activates."
The King Rex was surrounded by a massive swirling wind making him unable to move.
"Oh no! My King Rex!" Rex exclaimed in dismay as he watched his massive dinosaur now be vulnerable to Weevil's monsters.
"And while your King Rex is inside the Vortexes inescapable embrace I'll upgrade my Basic Insect by giving him armour with this laser cannon." Weevil explained as he used the equip spell. The Basic Insect got massive spikey shoulder pads, and a massive cannon on its back. "Not such a weak little bug now hmm?" Weevil asked before declaring his attack.
The Basic Insect destroyed the King Rex causing Rex's life points down to Zero. Rex thumped the table with his fist in frustration that he had lost.
"A stunning upset by Weevil Underwood, our newest Champion!" The announcer exclaimed and the crowd erupted into massive cheers at the result. Weevil left the Duel box to the cheers holding his deck high and a grin on his face.
"Man King Rex squashed by an insect?" Joey questioned, his eyes wide as he stared at the TV.
"And now a very special honour for our new champion, here to present the Duel Monsters Championship trophy. The creator of Duel Monsters and the president of Industrial Illusions." Claire found the announcer very fast with his talking, but she found and his inability to not stumble over any of his words was a pretty good feet. "Ladies and gentlemen and fellow duellists I give you Mister Maximillion Pegasus!" His arm shot forward pointing to a slightly darker green colour compared to the rest of the stage.
For a moment nothing happened but then the square retreated revealing a silver coloured long haired man with a red suit on coming up on a platform holding the large golden trophy.
"Congratulations" he said as he bent down to give Weevil the trophy.
"Uh, thank you" Weevil said a little shocked that he was really talking to the creator of Duel Monsters, he quickly took the trophy as Pegasus spoke again.
"And as Regional Champion I would like to personally invite you to compete in a bold new tournament I'm hosting at Duellist Kingdom." He said to Weevil who's mouth opened a little bit more, trying to process what he has been told.
Claire looked up at that, Duellist Kingdom? Where could that be held?
After the everyone had left the stadium a black limo drove out into the dark and still night.
"Mister Pegasus with the announcement that you made tonight thousands of Duellists will flock to the Duellist Kingdom" said the advisor who was sat next to Pegasus.
"Yes an event such as this will hopefully attract those with the Millennium items I seek, that reminds me." Pegasus didn't even need to fully ask the question as the man sat next to him knew what he was referring to.
"The package was delivered to the boy just as you ordered sir." He confirmed.
"Excellent" Pegasus smiled as everything was falling into place.
Yugi and his friends were still at the game shop finishing off the snacks and having some soda.
"Ah with all the excitement of the Tournament you haven't opened your package Yugi" Grandpa said remembering about the mystery box.
Everyone gathered around the box to be able to see what was inside.
"What could it be?" Yugi wondered out loud as he opened the box.
Inside the box was a strange red fingerless glove with a silver metal ring that had star shaped indents. Next to the glove was two gold stars and above that was a video tape. They were all set in a plush pale blue silk that had Styrofoam underneath for the indents.
"What a odd collection of items, maybe there's an explanation on the video?" Claire suggested.
"Well pop it in and let's check it out" Joey suggested to which Yugi nodded and grabbed the tape and then placed it into the video player under the TV.
The gang sat in silence waiting, wondering what was going to be on the video tape, they didn't have to wait for very long as Pegasus's head appeared on the TV.
"Greetings little Yugi, I am Maximillion Pegasus" he said.
The friends gasped and stared in shock at the TV.
"Pegasus?" Joey questioned, what was going on?
"We just saw him on TV!" Téa exclaimed as she too was taken by surprise.
Claire's stomach sank a little, she had a bad feeling about this.
"The famous Maximillion Pegasus sends greetings to my Yugi?" Grandpa asked, then he must have heard about Yugi's duel with Kaiba.
"I have heard some terribly interesting things about you Yugi" Pegasus said as if he hadn't heard anything the group had said, surely he hadn't, he couldn't. This made Yugi's eyes widen slightly, yes he defeated Kaiba but surely it wasn't that big of a deal, was it? "Your impressive defeat of Seto Kaiba intrigued me so much. I've decided to investigate your amazing dueling skills personally." He explained "right here right now we shall hold a special Duel, we'll play with a strict time limit of fifteen minutes and when times up the player with the highest life points will be the winner, are you ready?" He asked.
"What?" Yugi asked confusion filled his eyes.
"He can't seriously expect you to duel against a video tape!" Joey exclaimed.
"Yeah that's crazy" Tristan agreed which made Pegasus chuckle.
"No it's magic." Pegasus said as from under his long silver hair a bright gold light shinned, Yugi's friends and Grandpa where pushed away as the room grew dark. Yugi looked back at everyone Claire had the most worried look on her face out of the group but none of them moved.
"Everything's grown dark and cold and the others aren't moving" Yugi murmured to himself. "What have you done to them?! Where have you taken us?" Yugi asked as he began panicking a little, hearing the slight fear in Yugi's voice Pegasus chuckled.
"We are no longer in the world you know, but I will return you, after our game." At this Yugi turned around determination on his face.
"Then it's time to Duel!" Yugi shouted at the screen, a bright gold light similar to the one Pegasus just admitted moments ago glowed brightly from the upside down pyramid hanging from Yugi's neck the next second Yugi appeared more confident, eyes sharper his hair having three lightning bolts going through the black. "Start the clock and make your move Pegasus." Yugi said.
"Certainly, let's begin" Pegasus said calmly as the clock on the video player began to beep counting down the seconds. "Nervous Yugi boy?" Pegasus asked mockingly as he placed a card face down in the spell and trap zone. "You should be, you have never faced a Duellist like me before" Pegasus declared smugly.
"You may be good" Yugi brushed off his statement unfazed by it as he looked over the cards in his hand.
"I assure you I am" Pegasus replied.
"But I will beat you to save my friends." Yugi said confidently as he choose the card he was going to play, but before he was even able to play it Pegasus spoke once more.
"You won't save anyone with that dragon card" Pegasus said as yet again a gold glow this time softer than before shone though Pegasus's hair.
"How?" Yugi asked shocked as the card he was holding was theKoumori Dragon which had 1500 attack and 1200 defence points."I told you've never faced anyone like me before, I know every move you'll make before you can even make it" Pegasus declared happy that he has caught the boy off guard. "Knowing every move, you'll make gives me a distinct advantage, wouldn't you say?"
"What?" Yugi asked more to himself how was this possible?
"For example, I can anticipate your next play and counter it with this Dragon Capture Jar" Pegasus held up a trap card that had a brown jar that had carvings of a dragon, next thing that Yugi knew a bright white light filled the screen blinding Yugi and forcing him to cover his eyes from the light. "It will draw the Koumori Dragon from your card and imprison the beast" As this happened a purple dragon with red wings appeared before Yugi, before disappearing again like smoke and getting drawn into the screen. "Trapped never to be played against me."
This all seemed unreal to Yugi first the guy seems to be reading Yugi's mind and now bringing his card to live, Yugi didn't understand how was this happening?
"This dark dimension that we're in is known as the shadow realm, a mystical place where incredible monsters can be summoned and the impossible becomes quite possible." Pegasus explained as he drew his card and played it face down.
"But what you're telling me can't be true" Yugi said still unable to grasp what was happening, he took his eyes off of Pegasus for a moment to draw his card and decide on his next move.
"Tell me Yugi do you believe there is magic in these cards?" Pegasus asked.
"Don't you know?" Yugi countered "you invented this game" he said as he picked a card and was about to play it.
"What if I told you I didn't?" Pegasus said vaguely making Yugi pause and put his card back into his hand, curious by what Pegasus was saying. "In Ancient times the Egyptians called this the shadow game, powerful Pharaohs would hold mystical duels in other dimensions, just as we are doing now. But not with cards." Pegasus explained "they battled with real monsters and real magic! Magical forces so powerful the Egyptians lost control of them and nearly destroyed the entire world."
"It's a good story Pegasus but these monsters can't be real." Yugi said, it all sounded too fantastical, how could it be real? Yugi played his card down on the field but nothing happened.
"Tell that to my Dragon Piper" Pegasus said playing the odd jar looking monster with arms card, the monsters appeared and began to play on its long flute "his flute of resurrection free's your Koumori Dragon but places him under my control.
"I have to counter attack! Silver Fang!" Yugi shouted as a green wolf appeared in front of Yugi growling at the dragon who's head appeared from out of the TV and used his fire breath to destroy the wolf. Yugi wasn't expecting to feel the heat of the dragon's flames but he did and he covered his face with his arm. Yugi's live points went down from 2000 to 1500.
"As you see Yugi boy these monsters are very real." Pegasus said with a laugh and a wave of his hand, he then leaned in and held his hand towards his face as if about to tell Yugi a secret "and also quite dangerous." Pegasus chuckled once more at this. "Ah Yugi boy you really are quite entertaining, the way you scowl and sneer so defiant and yet helpless and so completely ignorant of the power of your Millennium Puzzle."
"What?" Yugi asked, he only knew a few people that knew what the puzzle was called, how did he know?
"Five thousand years a powerful Pharaoh locked the magic of the shadow games away" Pegasus didn't seem to be making much sense to Yugi at this moment, why was he bringing up Antient Egypt again?
"The Pharaoh captured these vast magical energy's in eight mystical Millennium items" Pegasus said making Yugi think of Claire, he couldn't let Pegasus get to her, he needed to protect his sister. So there were six more that they didn't know about.
"Eight items?" Yugi questioned "you're saying that my Puzzle is one of them?"
"Yes and there are mystical energy's locked within it, magic that could change your life forever if only you knew how to unleash it." Pegasus explained
"But why are you telling me this?" Yugi asked, why would Pegasus help him in understanding his puzzle?
"Why? Simply because I need you to know" Pegasus then gave a brief pause before starting again. "But perhaps I've said too much and since the clock is still ticking I propose we resume our little game."
Yugi knew he was right time was running out and he still had no monsters out and he hasn't figured out if he could really read his mind or not. Yugi thought of a monster, his Zombie Warrior monster that was in his hand. Pegasus moved his hair for a moment and Yugi got a glimpse of his eye, well it wasn't a human eye it looked metal and gold. But then he paused if Pegasus could really read his mind then he would know what he was about to play, it had to do with that eye of his, Yugi then had an idea.
"Hurry up now Yugi boy time is running out, for you and your friends." Pegasus said feeling a little impatient. So if Pegasus is expecting Yugi to play a card from his hand what if he played a card he hasn't even seen yet? So Yugi drew a card from the deck and without looking at it placed it face down on the field.
"I already know you plan to play your Zombie Warrior and I'm already prepared to counter it with a trap card that makes even Zombies lie down and play dead!" Pegasus exclaimed getting a little excited.
"Not this time, I figured out your little game Pegasus, you may be able to see the cards in my hand but you can't see the ones I pull from the deck" Yugi said with a grin, he hoped that he had a good card down on the field otherwise this would be all for nothing. "My next card is, the Dark Magician!" Yugi declared as he flipped over the card.
"Oh the big scary dark magician" Pegasus pretended to be scared.
"Mock me all you like Pegasus but my Magician will destroy that dragon" Yugi said confidently.
"Go right ahead if you think it will help" Pegasus said as unfazed by Yugi's claims.
"It'll do more than help Pegasus, it'll bring you closer to defeat and me closer to saving my friends." Yugi said still grinning.
"If it can do all that then by all means play it" Pegasus said as if giving Yugi permission.
"Dark Magician!" Yugi called out the yellow haired and green skinned magician appeared, pointing his staff at Pegasus "Dark Magic Attack!" Yugi ordered the magician put his hand up to send the attack, destroying the dragon and bringing Pegasus' life points down from 2000 to 1200. Once the dragon was destroyed Pegasus laughed.
"Nicely played but by using your dark magician you've let me manipulate you once again, by playing that one card, you have ensured my victory." Pegasus seemed to be talking nonsense Yugi's card is currently the strongest monster on the field.
"No" Yugi said not believing a word of it.
"We shall see Yugi" Pegasus said abd then drew his next card. "Oh, a very rare card this is the fearsome Faceless Mage" Pegasus said as he showed Yugi the card a picture of what looked like a doll with three heads, the middle head only had a large mouth for features. While the head on it's left shoulder had two wide eys, nose and a closed mouth and what looked like blonde hair of a boy. While the other head had two eyes although one was partly closed a full mouth and nose features and long brown curly hair with a large pink bow.
"I've never seen that card." Yugi gasped, what could this card do? "But my Dark Magician is one of the strongest magician cards in the game."
"But how will he fair once I combine my Faceless Mage with the equally rare Eye of Illusion?" Pegasus inquired as the Faceless Mage appeared with a creepy laugh.
"Dark Magician Dark Magic Attack!" Yugi declared.
The Faceless Mage raised it's large hands a yellow eye surrounded by purple mist appeared between the Mage's hands, the two attacks clashed causing another bright light to fill the surrounding area. Once the light faded there was thick smoke coving the two monsters making it impossible to see what had happened.
"Dark Magician!" Yugi called out. The smoke cleared and Yugi saw both his and Pegasus' monster's still standing there as if nothing had happened. "Your Faceless Mage should have been destroyed, but it's still standing and I'm running out of time." Yugi observed what had happened here? There was five minutes left on the clock, Yugi was up by three hundred life points but only because Pegasus was toying with him, Yugi wanted to find a way to beat him at his own shadow game, but how? He put his hand on his deck he needed to trust in his cards. "I attack your combo with the Celtic Guardian!" Yugi declared the warrior appeared with green armour and a sword. "This mighty warrior will cut your Faceless Mage down to size."
"True your Guardian is mighty but you have once again underestimated the incredible power of my Eye of Illusion" Pegasus declared with a laugh.
"No!" Yugi cried in dismay.
"Dark Magic Attack!" Pegasus ordered and a black energy ball hit the Celtic Guardian destroying him and bringing Yugi's life points down to 400.
"But that's impossible! The Faceless Mage doesn't have a Dark magic attack." Yugi then realised it wasn't the Mage at all, it was his own Dark Magician being controlled by Pegasus' Eye of Illusion. But then if the magic was controlling the Dark Magician then what was protecting the Mage?
"Well Yugi, our time together is nearly up and as I have more life points than you I am the victor" Pegasus said as he placed a card face down in the spell and trap zone after that he clapped his hands. Yugi had ten seconds he drew his card.
"Time's not up yet Pegasus and you've left your Faceless Mage wide open for a physical assault" Yugi said as he played his card. "Summoned Skull attack!" He declared with two seconds left the massive Demon rose and went to attack the Faceless Mage but before it reached the Mage the timer ran out and both monsters disappeared.
"Well we've run out of time but how close was that? If you had been able to finish that attack I would have lost" Pegasus said gleefully. "But I didn't did I?" He asked mockingly "I have taken the measure of your talent today Yugi Muto and when next we duel we shall play for far higher stakes."
"I'm done with your games Pegasus." Yugi said angry that he had lost and that Pegasus was mocking him. This caused Pegasus to tut and wag his finger.
"You presume I'm giving you a choice in the matter" Pegasus said before fully revealing his left eye. "But I'm not for I too posses one of the eight Millennium items, the all-powerful Millennium Eye." Pegasus declared.
"A Millennium Eye?" Yugi asked in shock.
"That's right Yugi boy and now I'll show you the true extent of it's magic a bright yellow light burst from the TV and engulfed Grandpa's body his soul lifted out of his body and was taken towards the TV screen "you see I have found that given the proper insensitive anyone can be made to play my game" Pegasus said as Grandpa appeared on the screen calling out to Yugi. Yugi seemed to change back to his normal self and his eyes widened he threw himself at the TV as everyone else came back to normal but Grandpa's body slumped to the floor.
"Grandpa!" Yugi cried out but the image began to disappear causing Yugi to shout more.
Claire turned to Grandpa's unmoving body he was cold but still breathing her Millennium Bracelet felt cold too as nothing was being detected from Grandpa.
"No Grandpa" she murmured before she also burst into tears the friends looked at the siblings confused by what was going on, what had happened here?
So this one was finished yesturday, chapter 1 was finished a month ago so enjoy the double update!
I've got so many ideas for this it's unreal but I need to get through the first lot of episodes.
I hope you have enjoyed this one and I'll see you next time!
