Ah another chapter done! Honestly when I first started this I didn't think that it was going to be this hard.
So sorry this is late, life got in the way and I didn't have a phone for a good chunk of last month.
Anyway it's finally done so yay!
Anyway I don't own Yugioh only the idea of the Millennium Bracelet and My OC Claire.
Destiny is strange.
Even though Yugi had done a very good counter move he was a little bit concerned by Weevil saying about his strongest monster, was it a bluff? Or true? He couldn't tell.
"Great play Yuge" Joey said as he grinned Yugi had this in the bag.
"Yeah, he wiped out Weevil's army with one move" Tristan agreed surely this would be over very soon there was no way Weevil could come back from this.
"Alright you got him on the ropes!" Téa cheered with a big smile.
"It was a good move, unfortunately Weevil still has that trap card in play and he just said about his most powerful monster." Claire said as she looked over at the boys "I hate to say this but I don't think that this Duel is over quite yet."
"It most certainly isn't my dear" A woman's voice said, making the group turn around to look at who the new comer was. "Honestly all these cheers made me want to gag but this one is sensible; she knows your friend Yugi isn't going to win."
"I never said that Yugi wasn't going to win!" Claire exclaimed angrily how dare this woman twist her words. Joey and Tristan jumped to her side ready to hold back Claire she was never one for fighting but they learned pretty quickly that she was quick to defend her friends, especially her brother, these past few weeks since Grandpa's soul was taken, she had been getting even more defensive.
Mai however didn't care about Claire's outburst and just ignored her, if she also wasn't going to realise that this new kid was fighting a losing battle then she can have the satisfaction of watching these lot getting their spirts crushed as their friend losses.
"Well then it seems that all of you losers don't realise who your little pal is up against Weevil's regional champion, he's got moves your shrimp couldn't even dream of." She continued with a small shrug. This statement also made Téa very upset as she also had a small outburst.
"Nobody asked you so why don't you just take a hike" she shouted standing as straight as she could so she could look her in the eye.
"And miss the chance to watch a champion like Weevil? As he turns this around no way." Mai said watching the two in the box walking past Téa and Claire who were both seething with anger at her.
"Yeah I mean Weevil really came from behind to win the regional." Joey said gravely nodding his head slightly with his eyes closed. Tristan also nodded his head his face mirrored Joey's expression.
"He's tough and sneaky" he said in agreement with Joey.
"Who's side are you two goofballs on anyway?!" Téa and Claire shouted together turning their anger to the boys, Claire looked like she was going to hit Joey but he opened his eyes and looked down at her, placing his hands on her bunched-up fists and lowering them.
"Hang on Claire, I never said I wasn't on Yugi's side" he tried to explain as he could see the anger and hurt in her bright blue eyes. "What I mean is Yuge's facing a tough opponent possibly his toughest yet, and it's his first official duel." This made Claire settle down and made her look back at Yugi, how could he sit there looking so calm and in control of the whole situation?
"And he's fighting a champ" Tristian added hoping to calm Téa down. Téa was still a bit annoyed at Mai as she glared at Mai, she knew that Yugi would pull though and show Mai.
"You may have flattened my army of bugs Yugi, but you haven't won I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve." Weevil was scowling at Yugi across from the table how dare he look so calm.
"You've done an awful lot of buzzing throughout this whole Duel Weevil. But I'm still here waiting for the sting" Yugi smirked as Weevil bristled more growling lowly at Yugi.
"Since you're new to this whole Duelling tournament thing I'll try to make this simple for you" Weevil hissed at Yugi before looking at his hand and grinning. "I'm gonna wipe that goofy grin from your face." He warned still with a bite to his voice as he was very annoyed. "Now let's see which lucky bug takes the first bite." Laughing he then picked a card and his face dramatically fell "oh but this little bug doesn't stand a chance against your ferocious monsters...oh well I just have to play him in defence mode." He finished closing his eyes as he placed the card face down in said position.
"That would have been a nice bluff but I still haven't forgotten about the trap card you still have in play." Yugi said as he looked briefly up at Weevil before turning back to his hand.
"What does he take Yugi for? He even told him his face down card was a trap." Claire muttered crossly, honestly how many times has Weevil used that bluff to get people to attack him?
Yugi was determined that Weevil wasn't going to trap him, he didn't when he played it the first time and he's not going to do it now. He knew that when he calls an attack Weevil's trap card will activate and will destroy all his monsters...was there anything in his hand that could do that? Yes he just needed to draw his next card. So doing so he studied his hand before looking up at Weevil.
"I'll spring your trap Weevil!" Yugi declared before playing the magic card Monster Recovery "this allows me to call back all my monsters back to their cards" he picked the cards up and began to shuffle them into his deck. "Now your trap has nothing to snare and my monsters can be returned safe into my deck and I reshuffle before drawing a new hand." He explained as he did all the actions now looking at his new hand he summoned Kuriboh the small brown ball of fluff with big yellow and purple eyes and little green claws and feet appeared with a small cooing noise. "Now Kuriboh! Attack."
Weevil groaned as his trap was activated and large worm appeared before launching at Kuriboh and devouring the small creature. Yugi's life points went down from 1350 to 1050.
"Trap cards only work if they catch you by surprise, next time don't give your plan away." Yugi said with a smirk.
Weevil stared at Yugi for a moment before he started to laugh loudly.
"I didn't! I don't give a bees behind about that stupid trap!" Weevil exclaimed making Yugi gasp "I tricked you into recalling your monsters" he explained as he reached for his face down defence card taking hold of it he smirked up at Yugi. "So you couldn't attack this!" Weevil shouted in glee as he revealed the monster, a small green larvae with a horn and small spikes along it's side, it wiggled about and made squelching sounds as it moved from side to side, it's attack went from 500 to 650 while it's defence went 400 to 520.
Yugi couldn't see what was so important about the simple little creature, it wasn't very strong and it's defence was very low too, it couldn't be much of a threat so what was Weevil up to now? He looked up at Weevil waiting to see what his next move was, Weevil had a massive grin on his face as he sniggered.
"Sure he's just a little slug now but the Cocoon of Evolution will change all that" he explained as he played the card.
"What?" Yugi asked as his eyes widened, this didn't seem like it was going to be good.
"Isn't it beautiful!?" Weevil exclaimed happily as the Larvae Moth continued to wriggle something began to appear and wrap around the bug.
"That's just gross" Téa said as she continued to watch the creature.
"Weevil's bug sealing itself in a cocoon" Joey observed, even though they were grossed out they couldn't take they're eyes from it. After a few moments of wriggling it was completely covered once done it was still and looked like a large white bean.
"That also looks gross" Claire said as she scrunch up her nose it even looked like it was slightly pulsing like a heart beat.
Mai stood silent next to the group in just a few short turns it'll all be over for Yugi, she knew Weevil would turn this Duel around.
"Behold my Cocoon of Evolution!" Weevil laughed in excitement "within sits my tiny little Larvae Moth and over the next five turns he will undergo a startling transformation!" He exclaimed as he waved his arms around to emphasize how big of a deal this was. His grin widened as he spoke his next words "from harmless caterpillar to unstoppable Great Moth!"
"Then I'll crack your cocoon before that happens" Yugi announced as he glared at Weevil trying to hide his worry at what was going to happen, he couldn't let it, he needed to stop it. This made Weevil chuckle before speaking.
"Easier said than done Yugi, for my Cocoon of Evolution also gets a field power bonus from the wilderness around us increasing its defence points. It'll be so strong you won't even be able to scratch it's surface!" Weevil explained as he said this the defence of the cocoon rose from 2000 defence points to 2600. Weevil thrust his hand out in front of him hold his hand out, his fingers spread out showing all of them.
"Just five more turns Yugi" he declared with a massive grin "in five turns my Great Moth will be fully evolved and finish you off."
Yugi knew he needed to act fast if this creature was going to be so powerful and Yugi was sure that the creature was getting stronger with every moment he needed to stop it he can't let that thing get to it's fifth. But how could he do it? Maybe he could break open the cocoon, he had to try something so he summoned his Gaia the Fierce Knight.
"Gaia shatter that cocoon!" Yugi ordered with the order the horse reared up with a loud neigh and charged the Knight lifted and aimed his lance at the cocoon but unfortunately the lance bounced off and the cocoon gave a small shudder. Yugi's life points went down from 1050 to 750.
"The Field power bonus makes it too strong!" Joey exclaimed.
"That's one turn down! Care to try again?" Weevil asked with a little glee he was certain that Yugi wouldn't be able to break it. Yugi frowned that Cocoon is going to be tough to crack and with every failed attempt at breaking it open his life points will go down.
"Oh no" Téa said in dismay.
"Hang tough Yugi, you can pop that puss bag!" Joey shouted Claire agreed with a similar shout of encouragement. Both Téa and Claire looked to their left with frowns on they're faces as Mai laughed very loudly.
"Just what do you think you're laughing at?" Téa asked glaring at Mai. This made Mai look over at the two girls who had scowls on their faces this didn't bother Mai as she smirked at them.
"All that stupid cheerleading you're doing you make it sound like you're Yugi still has a chance" she said before looking back over at the Duel.
"Of course he does!" Claire and Téa shouted both taking a step towards Mai before being pulled back by Tristan and Joey.
"Don't listen to her Téa." Joey said wanting to calm Téa down he knew that both Claire and Téa would very quickly get into a fight especially over their friends.
"Yeah she's not worth it Claire." Tristan was holding Claire tight as she was struggling to get out of his grip.
"Any Duelist that's ever gone up against Weevil's Cocoon of Evolution has been totally...trashed" Mai paused before saying the last word she was talking so casually like she was talking about the current weather they were having. This made all of the friends gasp and stare at Mai in shock.
"All of them?!" Joey and Tristan exclaimed.
"But Yugi's got us to beat it" Téa said in slight dismay, she always believed that Yugi could win at any game he always did whenever they all played different games.
"He will beat it and you better watch closely, don't count Yugi out yet" Claire said solemnly as she glared at Mai who only smirked at her in amusement. He's going to need a lot more than these guys unwavering belief that this new comer could even be on the same level as Weevil Underwood the Regional Champion.
"Hear it growing?" Weevil asked excitedly "the more time you waste the stronger it becomes!" He exclaimed as some squelching noises could be heard from the cocoon Yugi looked on unimpressed, if he didn't come up with something fast he's going to lose this Duel and the only chance he has of saving his Grandpa, Yugi was determined that he wasn't going to let that happen.
"Tick tock tick tock, just four more until my ultimate insect emerges, then you can stop worrying about how you're going to destroy it and start worrying about it is going to destroy you!" Weevil cackled loudly while drawing his card he then skipped his turn as he was wanting to watch Yugi struggle.
Yugi wondered if he should build a defence just in case he can't stop Weevil's monster. He looked at the card he had just drawn from his deck, just Beaver Warrior, not strong enough to beat the Cocoon but at least his life points will be safe while he thinks of something. He placed Beaver Warrior face down in defence mode and ended his turn.
"Ha! You're wasting your turn" Weevil sneered "no defence will save your life points once my moth is out!" Weevil declared, picking up his card and then skipping his turn excitement filling him just three turns left. Yugi drew his card, staring at the cards in his hand, how could he turn this Duel around? He could see that Weevil was confident about whatever is growing in that Cocoon and that it is going to be unbeatable, but there just has to be a way to pop that thing open and wipe Weevil's smirk off his face.
"Hang in there Yugi!" Tea called out.
"Come on Yugi! You've never lost a Duel you can't stop now! You got to win this, Grandpa's counting on you." Claire shouted her face showed confidence that Yugi could win but inside she was upset, she couldn't stand to see Yugi with such pressure on him, she really wanted to add and me.
"I know he is" Yugi said as he looked over at Claire his heart clenching at seeing his sister with such distress in her eyes even though he could see she was trying to keep it from her face.
"Then you can't keep letting this little creep push you around, Yugi you gotta get fired up!" Joey jumped in with cheering Yugi at this Yugi's eyes widened as an idea came to his head, of course fire why didn't he think of it sooner?
"So do you guys sit around and work up these lame cheers or do they just come to you?" Mai asked rhetorically not really caring about the answer. "I mean don't you realise that your pep talk nonsense only distracts Yugi from the game?" Mai continued still as uninterested in their answer.
"How would you know? I bet no one's ever wanted to be your friend" Téa snapped at her "let alone care enough about cheering you on."
"Friends haven't helped Yugi, he's losing." Mai said as she looked over at Téa smirking slightly as she was sure Yugi was going to lose.
"He's smiling!" Claire shouted happily making Mai look up in shock, smiling? Why would he be smiling? What could these morons lame cheers given him an idea about? Yugi had a big smile and was giving his friends a big thumbs up making the others cheer loudly.
"Well Mai from the looks of Yugi's face I'd say that friends just did help him out, so there" Téa said with an air of confidence she then stuck her tongue out at Mai before turning back to watch what Yugi was going to do.
"Go Curse of Dragon Take flight!" Yugi shouted as he played his monster in attack mode. A yellow skeletal like dragon appeared with a mighty screech, it's attack points were 2000 and it's defence was 1500. "And I'll combine it, with this magic card!" He continued at a white glow appeared around the dragon for a moment. "Now attack with dragon flame!" Flames busy from the dragons mouth engulfing the cocoon and it's surroundings.
"What do you think you're doing?!" Weevil demanded "you know your little firefly can't hurt my cocoon." Weevil glared at Yugi he was up to something Weevil knew it, but what? This made Yugi smirk and chuckle at this. "What's so funny?"
"Whoever said I was aiming for your cocoon?"" Yugi asked vaguely before revealing his magic card it had the image of part of the earth engulfed in flames that was shooting down from the sky. "I combine my Burning Land magic card with my Curse of Dragon, to destroy the forest that surrounds your cocoon!" Yugi declared the fires finally died out showing the once lush forest on the board to now be a barren, charred wasteland.
"No forest? But that means no field power bonus!" Weevil exclaimed in dismay causing Yugi to grin wider.
"Exactly your cocoon was too tough to attack directly but without it's field power bonus it's just a big target" as Yugi said this Weevil's Cocoon of Evolution's defence points dropped from 2600 to 2000. "Now let's try this again. Gaia the Fierce Knight attack!" Yugi ordered making the horse charge once again and the lance once again connected with the cocoon but this time instead of bouncing off it made a large hole.
"He did it!" Téa cheered wanting to jump up and down.
"Popped it open like a zit!" Joey exclaimed happily fist pumping the air. But the cheers were short lived as Weevil once again started to laugh to himself and something green could be seen moving from with in the cocoon. Yugi's eyes widened as he stared at the cocoon it should have been destroyed right? It didn't get to the full five turns.
"Is it still alive?" Téa asked out loud.
"It just might be" Claire said as she watched the hole slowly growing bigger and something pushing it's way out.
Then a loud screech was heard coming from the cocoon as it continued to push out of the cocoon.
"It's still moving?!" Joey asked in shock as he too watched the thing that was emerging.
"You're surprised?" Mai asked in an uncaring way. Another screech was heard as a large green moth appeared fully out of the cocoon Yugi watched in horror as the creature towered over his Knight. Weevill laughed as he watched the bug appear.
"It must have evolved enough to survive" Joey said in realisation that this wasn't going to be so easy for Yugi the gang gasped as they realised this fact too.
"I told you Weevil was good" Mai said unfazed by what was happening her arms still folded as she didn't look away from the Duel.
"I'm impressed that you pierced my cocoon Yugi but still you were unable to stop the evolution of my ultimate insect! The Great Moth!" Weevil exclaimed in glee as the Moth could now be properly seen it had a large yellow horn at the front of its head and smaller yellow spikes on the side. It's wings were a mix of different shades of green making swirl and zig zag patterns across them. It's attack points were 2600 and it's defence was 2500.
"But I thought, it took five turns" Yugi said remembering what Weevil told him he definitely said that it took more, this made Weevil smirk and snigger slightly.
"So you stopped him one turn early, he's still strong enough to beat you" Weevil said.
"Oh no" Téa spoke, she still had hope that Yugi could get out of this. Mai found it a bit amusing that the little idiots weren't cheering now, Yugi doesn't stand a chance as The Great Moth is an unbearable creature.
Yugi glared at The Great Moth he was so sure that he had it moments ago but Weevil had turned this Duel around to his favour once again but he wasn't giving up.
"So Yugi feeling out classed yet?" Weevil asked but before Yugi could answer Weevil went on. "Or perhaps you're enjoying you first major duelling loss." Yugi glared at Weevil his face showing no fear or defeat he was going to fight and he was determined to beat Weevil.
"You may have gotten your prized monster onto the field Weevil but I'll still find a way to squash that oversized bug" Yugi declared making Weevil laugh.
"You'll pay for that stinging jab, with your life points!" Weevil exclaimed a bit of anger in his voice.
"Duel!" Yugi challenged.
"Great Moth take flight!" Weevil commanded The Great Moth let out another shriek as it flapped it's large wings pushing itself into the air.
"So be it, we'll settle this in the skies!" Yugi said. Weevil found it amusing how could Yugi beat his Great Moth when his dragon only has 2000 attack points and his knight can't touch his insect, he then wondered which one shall he take out first?
"I think it's high time I pay back your knight for demolishing my cocoon" Weevil sneered. Yugi knew if the attack hit he would lose his knight and his knight was currently his strongest monster, he couldn't risk losing him. "This is it! My Great Moth will crush your defences, slay your knight and blast your dragon from the sky!" Weevil said in glee.
"Not if I can help it Weevil!" Yugi said as he played a magic card that showed two different monsters swirling together above a card.
"But that's just it you can't help it! Moth Hurricane attack!" Weevil ordered pointing at the knight. The moth flapped it's wings again causing strong large gusts of wind to swirl and blow towards the knight. This attack destroyed Beaver Warrior taking out Yugi's defence which made Yugi groan. But the attack wasn't done as the winds grew stronger.
"It's hopeless nothing can stand against the gale force of my moths hurricane, your knight will be totally blown away" as Weevil said this Gaia was engulfed by the winds the horse neighing loudly. "That'll teach him to mess with my cocoon!"
"Don't count on it" Yugi said making Weevil look up at him "Weevil you were so busy fawning over your Moth you didn't notice I played a polymerization card!" Yugi declared showing Weevil the card.
"But I thought" Weevil murmured in dismay as he stared at the card.
"If I have two combatable monsters on the field I can use my polymerization card to fuse them into one ultimate creature." Yugi explained ignoring Weevil as Gaia was now sitting on Curse of Dragon.
"I'm not some beginner I know what fusion does" Weevil snapped at Yugi how dare he treat him like he didn't know what the card does. This made Yugi grin slightly.
"Then you must know it increases my attack points! My fused dragon knight combo is now powerful enough to go head to head with your Great Moth." Yugi explained however Weevil laughed loudly at this, did Yugi really think it was that easy?
"I wouldn't be so sure about that!" Weevil exclaimed before pointing at Yugi's monster "look again!" Yugi did and as he did he gasped his knights attack points where going down by 100 points every second. A steam was also rising from the monster, what was going on?
"My knight he's losing points, and fast, but how? And why" Yugi asked as he watched. Weevil was quick to give a gleeful explanation after a little snigger.
"It's poison Yugi" he said "poison partials from my Great Moths "It's poison Yugi" he said "poison partials from my Great Moth, each time it uses it's hurricane attack it releases tons of these tiny toxic particles and your precious dragon knight combo is being poisoned by the deadly touch!" He explained before laughing loudly. How could Yugi stop this? His knight was losing points with each passing second, was there a way to protect him from the very air itself? There was nothing in his hand that could help so he put his hand on his deck, he knew his Grandpa must have something that could help, with this thought in mind he drew the card. Looking at it he knew this would put a stop to this.
"Yes! Ready to be rained out Weevil?" Yugi asked before playing his magic card "Makiu, the magical mist!" he declared the card had a dark purple cloud with a creepy skull in the middle. Weevil growled as the field was covered in a thin consistent rain.
"No! My poison! You're washing it all away!" Weevil shouted angrily.
"That's right magical mist washes the field clean" Yugi said with a small grin.
"No fair! I was about to win and you save yourself with a little drizzle?!" He snapped at Yugi getting more annoyed by Yugi's smirk as Yugi knew that what Weevil said was true but it's not the only thing that it did. "Alright then you may have stopped my poison attack but I promise you only won a brief reprieve, because my next move is one you won't be able to think your way out of! Brace yourself for my insects ultimate attack!" Weevil declared. "Great Moth Tornado of Doom!" Weevil ordered another attack this time the red spot under its head glowed brightly as a bright ball began to form in-between it's long legs. It then shot out and hit Yugi's creature destroying it instantly. "A direct hit!" Weevil celebrated as Yugi's life points went from 750 to just 50 "your little rain storm didn't save you from that now did it?" Weevil asked smugly "and you're almost out of life points" Weevil observed before laughing once more.
"Yugi keep fighting, you can come back from this!" Joey said he knew Yugi could turn it around.
"You're all delusional" Mai sighed getting a little annoyed how could they not see that Yugi was going to lose?
"You have no idea what you're talking about, you don't know Yugi like we do" Claire glared at Mai but before she could continue Téa also jumped in.
"Joey and Claire are right Yugi can do this, he never gives up, and we never give up on him." Téa said taking a quick glance at Mai before turning back to look at the Duel box.
"You're nuts Weevil has totally annihilated strongest monster combo. He's down to fifty measly life points, he can't win so do me a favour and stop yapping." Mai said.
"I won't stop yapping you selfish, pompous, bleach blonde know it alll windbag!" Téa snapped at her "do us a favour and get lost, right Joey?"
"You said it, just ignore her Téa, Yugi's in trouble" Joey didn't turn around hoping to distract Téa.
"I know what can we do?" She asked as she looked over at Yugi.
"I don't know" Joey said feeling a little useless at this point. "Sure would be nice if we could trade Mai in for life points." This made both Claire and Téa laugh slightly.
"I wish" said Téa with a small smile.
"I told you all along Yugi never had a chance at winning this thing " Mai said making Téa glare at her once more. "He wastes too much of his time listening to you losers, Weevil keeps his mind on the game." Mai explained.
"You're wrong about Yugi" Claire said definitely "his mind is on the game and Yugi enjoys the Duels he does he doesn't just focus on winning."
"Whatever enjoying it isn't going to help him win." Mai raised an eyebrow at the younger girl.
"If Weevil's mind is on the game why didn't he see this coming?" Tristan asked making them look to him.
"See what coming?" They all asked in unison even Mai was shocked to hear this.
"Whatever Yugi's grinning about" Tristan answered as he pointed to Yugi who had his eyes closed but a triumphant grin on his face, Claire also noticed his shoulders were starting to shake slightly, was he laughing?
"You're right he's got a big smile" Joey pointed out as they all looked at Yugi.
"I don't think he'sjust smiling, I think he's laughing" Téa observed after she said this Yugi let out a small laugh.
"Hey what are you so happy about? Stop that sniggering!" Weevil demanded angrily.
"Weevil I know it will be very difficult for you to accept losing a Duel" Yugi said his eyes still closed after a moment he opened them and looked right at Weevil. "Especially since you took so much time finding inventive ways to cheat, but if you thought bending the rules would help you win this match. You're wrong." Yugi explained still looking confident.
"No this is a trick!" Weevil wouldn't believe it what Yugi said wasn't true.
"You played dishonesty so you expect the same of your opponents, but I Duel with honour Weevil, and that makes all the difference" Yugi continued as he grabbed a card from his hand holding it.
"You got nothing!" Weevil exclaimed in slight fear, what was Yugi going to do? There was no way he could beat his Great Moth.
"Here's what I got" Yugi said pulling the card from his hand and playing it on the field. "The mighty Summoned Skull!" Yugi declared a large skeletal being with wings appeared with a loud screech.
"Whoa, what's that?" Mai murmured as she watched the monster appear.
"Weevil's downfall" Claire said as she smiled knowing Yugi had a plan.
"This is it Weevil your ultimate insect won't withstand my next attack" Yugi said confidently. Weevil grinned Yugi must be losing it Summoned Skull while powerful only had 2500 attack points, not enough to beat his Great Moth. If Yugi attacked then Weevil would win.
"There's something you overlooked Weevil" Yugi said with a small chuckle "my magical mist is still dampening this entire field" he explained making Weevil and Mai gasp and inspect the field, finding a thin layer of mist on the ground.
"He's right, everything's wet" he then slowly looked up at his Great Moth as he saw a drop of water splash onto the ground below his creature. "My Great Moth is totally soaked" Weevil moaned slightly as he saw the water running off of his Great Moth.
"And my Summoned Skull attacks with electricity l, making your water logged bug into a giant sized lighting rod. I hope you're in the mood for some fireworks Weevil, because all this water boosts my monsters electrical attack by 1000 points" Yugi explained as he said this Summoned Skull's attack went from 2500 to 3500. "Summoned Skull Lighting Strike!" Yugi ordered the creature raised it's arms and lighting ran from the body to the claws and then up into the air before hitting the Moth making the creature explode and burst into flames. "It's over, I've won." Yugi said as Weevil's life points dropped to zero.
"Alright Yugi!" Joey cheered.
"Way to go!" Tristan shouted happily.
"He won, I knew he would" Téa exclaimed with a small laugh
"You did it" Claire said quietly smiling at Yugi with tears in the corner of her eyes.
"Impressive, I didn't think that Yugi could ever beat Weevil." Mai said before shrugging and walking away she needed to win some star chips.
Once outside the Duel box Weevil was still in shock and getting worked up.
"But I'm the regional champion, the regional champion!" He exclaimed from the ground as he was on his knees his legs not having the strength to hold himself up.
"You call yourself a champion Weevil but you won your Duels through lying and cheating, true champion's play with honour." Yugi explained as he took a few steps towards Weevil and was lightly tossed the three star chips in his hand before catching them and holding them tightly in his fist "they play fair."
"Don't waste your breath on this sneaky slug, he's a Dueling disgrace" Joey sneered as he got up close to Weevil glaring down at home. "And I hearby relieve him of his Dueling Gauntlet" Joey declared as he took the glove off of Weevil and put it onto his own hand.
"There, three star chips so far" Yugi said to himself as he placed the star chips into his gauntlet leaving seven spaces left. He then looked over at the castle "but I still need to win seven more, ten star chips will gain entry into that castle where they're holding my Grandpa's soul. I'll battle Pegasus once and for all." Yugi declared as he clenched his fists in determination.
Claire looked at Yugi, she was happy that he won his first Duel, now she needed to make sure Joey won his first Duel too, she also looked up at the castle studying the outside, she knew what she needed to do, but first make sure Joey is ok.
Again I'm really sorry Claire didn't really get up to much, we just gotta get through Joey's and Mako's Duel and then she will be doing something, not telling you what though!
I've got so many ideas for this it's unreal but I need to get through the first lot of episodes.
