Crib

"Hey, she's here!" Michelangelo spreads his arms in welcome as Taylor walks into the lair, Leonardo close behind her. "Welcome to the crib, girl!"

Taylor tries to smile, but it's half-hearted. She feels sick. This can't have happened to her again.

"Let me show you where you and April will be sleeping." Donatello leads her to a little alcove that's been neatly set up with Christmas lights around the walls; lying on the floor are two sleeping-bags. April's things are tucked away in a corner. There'll be plenty of room for Taylor's things when Casey brings them round.

Loud shouts make her jump and turn around. Leonardo and Raphael are having what looks like a stand-off; neither of them looks very happy. In fact, Raphael looks downright furious. He pushes his brother, sending him back a pace.

"That happens a lot round here," Donatello tells her. "Don't be worried if it does; it'll blow over sooner or later. Assuming they don't get sent to the..."

"Did you even ask her?" Raphael growls. He looks moments away from punching Leonardo. "Did you?"

"I told Taylor we weren't going to leave her where she might be hurt and asked her to trust us. She started packing."

"Then how come she looked so scared when you brought her in?"

Taylor wants the floor to swallow her up.
