Regulus smiled minutely as Mirabel finished with a flourish and curtsied, gesturing behind her for Rapunzel, who bounced lightly on her toes. The Colombian took a seat on the stage floor, but not before presenting him with a Forget Me Not. He weaved into his hair, securing it right behind his right temple. It was Rapunzel's turn to sing. She, too, danced, twirling her skirts.
You may be right, you may be wrong
Everyone was both right and wrong. That was because no one was perfect. Being perfect really sucked. Bruno and Regulus had strived for perfection for their families and had failed miserably.
Just say that you'll bring us along
Bruno smiled. It was only recently that he was excited about the journey called life. He wanted all whom he loved to be on the journey with him.
Regulus gazed longingly at the two princesses. He wanted to be permanently a part of their lives, but was scared of their rejection.
We want you to feel like you belong
Although he still had a long way to go, Bruno was finally starting to believe that he belonged. His family members were always on top of keeping each other safe and checking-in with everyone. There was still room to improve, but their efforts were paying off. The villagers have stopped leaning on their Gifts completely, and they were cordial to him.
Regulus wanted to belong to the group of kind, smiling princesses singing kind things to an equally kind man, but was worried if his past would catch up to him. All good things would need to come to an end.
We hope that you enjoy this song
Bruno smiled. "Thank you," he replied. Rapunzel pulled Mirabel up by the hand to frolic with her for the last section of her verse. Regulus enjoyed playing the accompaniment, but hearing the melody and lyrics was even better.
You know, you don't always need to be strong
The prophet's smile grew at the next lyric. He knew that he was emotional and sensitive, but hearing that others accepted that part of him made him ecstatic. He wanted to cry from joy, but the tears refused to leak out.
Not needing to be strong in front of others? What a foreign concept it was to Regulus. Even when he was alone in Russia, he avoided crying and all other feelings that brought vulnerability thanks to his parents.
You can be petrified of the throng
That feels miles long
Bruno shivered and Regulus cringed. Neither of them liked having lots of people around them. Being around others in Hogwarts and during the war was enough for the pianist. He even had to work his way up to having all of the performers sitting around him during rehearsal. The parties in Casit were enough, even eating at meals was occasionally overwhelming to Bruno.
