Jack Bauer continues to try and lead the mercenaries away from Tony Almeida. He tries not to make it too obvious, he's still driving towards CTU, he's just taking the longer route. Hopefully he can make it back safely as well, but the computer chip has the highest priority.

Rebecca Allen makes it back to the White House. Her parents hug her. She doesn't inform them where she was exactly. or that she killed the man who murdered her brother. Rebecca's parents notice she is apparently in shock, but they attribute this to Horace's death. Rebecca knows that shooting Carl Web is just something she's going to have to live with.

President Keaton nervously paces in the Oval Office. He wonders how Mackensie Allen was able to deal with this for so long. He had seen her do it, she admitted that she also nervously paced a good deal of the time, but somehow Warren Keaton never fully appreciated how hard the waiting game really was. Maybe noone could, not unless they ever sat in this desk, and knew that the buck stopped with them.

Tony continues his long drive back to CTU. The drive wasn't too long, but a situation like this was like dog years, every one minute felt like seven. Tony wanted to drive as quickly as possible, but getting pulled over for speeding would mean a further delay, and every minute counted right now. As Tony waited at a red light the driver next to him seemed to be eying him. Maybe Tony was being paranoid, or maybe Gaines' buddies figured out that he had the real chip. Tony didn't want to panic, but he was also ready if the other man tried something.
