Update For All Of You Lovely People

I know I said I was going to get rid of my FanFiction account after I transfer all of my stories over to Wattpad. Then a thought occurred to me: not everyone uses Wattpad. So I will be keeping my fanfiction account and keep publishing my stories. This if the fourth chapter of White Rose! My Megamind Story. Enjoy. I will publish the fifth chapter later. Thank you for all of your love and support.

Vintage, ornate doors greeted Teryn when she approached the vintage jewelry store with Megamind beside her. She reached for the doors, but Megamind caught her wrist just as her finger pads brushed the handle! She slightly glanced up at Megamind out the corner of her eye. He met her gaze with sad, green grass orbs. "Let me."

Sorrow filled Teryn's ears when Megamind told her to let him open the door! He needed to be the one to open the door in order to go through with returning the engagement ring!

Painfully clutching from reciprocating Megamind's hurt, Teryn's heart painfully throbbed against her chest while she let her hand fall to the side before taking a step back; Megamind moving where she previously stood. After taking in a deep breath, Megamind gripped the door handle of the ornate door and stepped inside the vintage shop with Teryn at his heels.

Slamming hard against Teryn's nose, a strong, musty scent of wool mixed with a slight hint of cigarette smoke blended with cleaning chemicals, air pollution, nasty car exhaust with cheap body care products and strong cleaning solvents, currently flowed on a wave of nonenal chemical compounds from oxidized lipid acid, caused Teryn's nose to wrinkle when the blended airflow wafted the unpleasant smell of elderly grandma up her sinuses, when she stepped over the threshold!

Teryn found Megamind already at the front counter with an awaiting look in his green eyes and a stretched out hand when she approached the counter. Instead of the front counter, Teryn approached Megamind and handed the ring box over to set the square item in his upturned palm. Her sad look met his pained one while she leaned a hip against the glass case.

Sauntering out of the back after the loud bell chime ceased in the shop, the jeweler smiles, but immediately replaces his smile with a strong look of concern when his eyes take in Megamind's upset green orbs. Concern laced his voice. "That's not a happy smile of a groom-to-be."

Pain flashed across Megamind's face! His numb tongue began working and his voice was barely above a whisper when he admitted, "I'm not getting married."

Knitting his eyebrows together, the jeweler's blue eyes bounced between Megamind and Teryn while pointing at either of them with his index finger, asking, "so you two aren't getting married?"

"No," both confirmed.

Teryn was quick with a following response. "No. I'm just helping Megamind return the ring." Her next words caught Megamind's attention. "Unfortunately, I'm not the one Megamind planned on marrying."

Shocked, Megamind's head snapped in Teryn's direction at her confession. "Though I wish I was." Did she really just say that?

Megamind silently watched Teryn for a minute when she walked off to go look at other pieces of jewelry. 'Did she seriously say that?' He thought while staring at her as she studied each piece. Those eyes of hers flicked to each necklace hanging from various hooks lining the wall. Teryn's fingers caressed the metal and the beadwork while moving from one intricate piece to the next.

However, what caught Megamind's attention the most, was the way Teryn's curiosity and fascination reflected between her sea foam green eyes and face! Those sea foam green eyes of hers flicked to each hanging handmade piece with awe and fascination, her head and feet simultaneously following her traveling line of sight as she slowly strolled down the row.

Catching the sight of the jeweler watching Teryn out of the corner of his eye, the jeweler watched her the way a father would watch his child. Did he know Teryn?

Turning back to the task at hand, Megamind slid the ring box across the clear, crystal glass counter before placing his palms flat against the cool glass top. All he could do now was wait for the jeweler to refund him his money.

Teryn's words kept running through Megamind's brain during their walk to the mall! Over and over, his brain was flooded with her words! "No. Unfortunately, I'm not the one Megamind planned on marrying. Though I wish I was." No matter how hard he tried to brush them off. 'Was she being serious?' Megamind thought. 'Or was she just being nice?'

Noon rolled around when they arrived at the mall. Megamind turned his eyes on Teryn when she eagerly clasped his hand when their feet stepped over the threshold of one of the mall's many doors! Pulling him into an excited run, Megamind followed Teryn when she led him down an adjacent hall, then a short set of steps to finally halt in the mall's center square.

Taking in the environment, Megamind's eyes took in the very open building with many shops and food courts forming the second floor's foundation looming around them overhead! Meagamind was pulled from his awe-struck gaze by Teryn's voice. "So what shall we do first?"

Looking down at Teryn with a confused look, Megamind felt puzzled by her question. And realization dawned on Teryn. "You have never shopped here?"

Surprise fills Teryn's lighter green eyes when Megamind shakes his head no. "Then I guess we will have to try everything."

Taking Megamind's hand in hers, Teryn led him to the closest store. Megamind never saw such a vast array of clothes for men before! He was only used to his dark jumpsuit! But seeing so many shirts and pants, he felt like a kid in an evil parts store! He didn't care for candy!

A thought popped into his head because Teryn put a comforting hand on his arm. "What's wrong?"

Megamind met Tery's eyes with an embarrassed look. "I don't know which ones I like."

"Just try things on until you find something that feels like you." Suggested Teryn.

Megamind began flittering through almost every dark blue and black shirt while Teryn watched from the side or behind. The shirts weren't a problem! Shirts could shrink in the wash so they didn't make him feel like he was wearing a potato sack. And each time he came out of the dressing room to ask Teryn for her opinion, she would simply spin him around to see his reflection in the mirror.

When it came to pants, however, Megamind frowned at a lot of them. "I don't want my movements to be hindered."

Jeans were out of the question. Teryn led Megamind to a rack with cargo pants in his favorite colors. "Cargo pants are baggy around the legs and flexible fitting around the waistline because they can be tied," she explained.

Six pairs of cargo pants, sweatpants, shorts, t-shirts, two jackets, a few long sleeve shirts, two pairs of shoes and a pair of slippers later; they were ready to check out!

When his eyes saw the total price for everything, Megamind's eyes blew wide in shock! Teryn wasn't the least bit concerned, it seemed, but he couldn't allow her to spend that much on him!

Reaching a hand out, he caught her wrist just as she pulled a wad of cash from her purse. "Megamind?" Teryn's words were gentle. "What's wrong?"

"The price for everything, Teryn." Megamind shook his head. "It's too much."

Teryn turned to the waiting cashier for a quick second. "Give us a minute?" She pulled Megamind to the side and out of earshot after the cashier nodded and set all of the items to one side of the counter. "Talk to me. What's wrong?"

Megamind felt confused now. Did he not just tell her what was wrong? Why was she asking him the same question? "Did I not just say what was wrong?"

Teryn slightly tilted her head to one side. Megamind let out a gasp! 'Oh, he likes that, does he?' She thought. "You did," she confirmed. "I'm just wondering what all you're thinking."

Crossing his arms over his chest, Megamind frowned down at the woman who knocked his socks off! No one has ever shown him this much care and concern before!

Why was this woman going out of her way to help him? Why? She could have just ended her time helping him at breakfast.

Those imploring sea foam green eyes of hers had his heart very twitterpated with a faster beat that caused his lungs to painfully throb from the vibrations of his heart! Megamind was supposed to be hurting from his painful breakup with Roxanne…yet Teryn was helping him forget! She was — what words could he use to describe the exact nature of the woman's actions and behavior towards him?

A questioning frown flashed across his face! Ever since the breakup, Megamind slowly began drowning from deep-seeded insecurities stemmed from fear of not wanting to be loved by anyone else!

Countless times the prison warden told him families only wanted children with normal skin and a normal sized head because humans had a tendency to be judgmental.

During his childhood all the way up to last year, Megamind recalled the warden was the only one who ever treated him kindly and gently. The only time the warden was firm was when Megamind did something stupid. Whenever the warden called him a villain, Megamind only ever felt reminded…and not judged.

Mentally counting off his fingers, Megamind recalled the kindness the warden showed him despite his long list of mistakes; he recalled Roxanne never once looking at him with judgement and disdain — even when he became good. Roxanne always treated him kindly. Then there was Minion, of course. His loyal, fantastic fish loved him since they were children! Now Teryn?

Really studying the woman standing before him, Megamind's mind became hazy and his eyes threatened to turn twitter pated! Teryn…This woman with the beautiful pearlescent white hair, exotic ivory skin with striking sea foam green eyes with flecks of emerald and jade captivating the intoxicating hue as much as her flesh and toned body; majorly enhanced by her intoxicating kindness and compassion overflowing with endless amounts of concern mixed with sympathy, empathy and — dare he think that last word?

This woman only ever showed behavioral signs of curiosity, kindness, sympathy, empathy and…dare he really think that last word? Megamind dared not to think that last word — strongly forbidding himself from thinking that last word!

"Why are you helping me?" Megamind asked a very patient Teryn. "You don't know me."

Tern's face became unreadable! Megamind only knew of one reason for that. She was hiding behind a wall! Her eyes weren't reached by the smile pulling at her mouth. And he didn't hear the smile in her voice when she spoke. Only…pain? "I would want someone to help me."

Before Megamind could say anything, Teryn's bow shaped lips were tugged at the corners when her mouth snaked into a sweet smile reaching her striking eyes glittering from the beauty of her smile; something else glittering in them so fast, it was gone in a blink of an eye! But his eyes already locked the deep emotion in his mind's eye like a tattoo! Could she…? No. Teryn just met him! Yet when Megamind told her she doesn't know him, she put a wall up to hide something. Yet, the way her eyes held his…there was no way Teryn could possibly _ him! She couldn't! And her voice was chipper once again when she spoke. "Come on, the cashier just finished ringing up a customer. Let's get your clothes then go to WalMart and Target to look for new socks and underwear for you."

Color painted Megamind's cheeks and eyes widening, Teryn's beautiful laugh graced his ears after passing her irresistible lips when she saw the blush painting his cheeks!
