Chapter 7

Nibs stood on the deck and watched as Lucy followed Smee below. What was Hooks plan? Nibs hated the fact that he was never trusted enough to know anything. It was probably Gale's fault. Gale had distrusted him ever since he took his first step on this ship. This time, he decided, he would find out exactly what was going on. Silent as a mouse, Nibs followed Lucy and Smee down below and watched as they entered the captain's cabin shutting the door behind them. Nibs followed them and pressed his ear to the keyhole straining to hear what was going on inside. Suddenly, the door burst open with a sudden jolt causing Nibs to fall straight into Gale who had stepped out. Gale smirked at Nibs shutting the door firmly behind him.
"I think the Captain would be interested to know you have been spying Nibbs" he said raising an eyebrow.
"I…" Nibs stuttered.
"You know I don't trust you," Gale said threateningly. "If I catch you here again there will be trouble."
Nibs nodded and quickly scurried away like a frightened puppy back on to the deck.

Lucy was just about to leave the Jolly Rodger and make her way to the Indian camp when Gale pulled her aside. "Listen to me," he said. "Don't tell anyone about the plan. Ok." He was looking straight at her, his eyes wide. It was the first time Lucy had ever seen him worried about anyone but himself. "Especially Nibs, there's something about him that I don't trust."
Lucy nodded. "I won't tell anyone," she said quietly.
"Be careful," Gale said quietly. Leaning forward his lips brushed against Lucy's cheek.
"I will," she said blushing.

Nibs was stood on the deck staring out over the vast forest of Neverland when he noticed Tiger Lily walking away from the ship. What had she been doing here? He watched suspiciously as she strolled into the vast trees and disappeared.

As Lucy walked her head was buzzing. What had Gale meant by saying Nibs was untrustworthy he was one of the only friends that she had on the ship and she had trusted him with all her heart. Now she wasn't so sure. She remembered the way Gale had kissed her on the cheek and blushed again. Who was she supposed to trust Gale or Nibs?

Suddenly, she was awakened from her thoughts by something flapping around her ear. Irritably she swatted at it, the thing dogged out of the way quickly to flutterer in front of her face. Lucy's eyes widened as she recognised the tiny creature in front of her from her father's description. "Tinkerbell," she breathed.

There was a small thud as a boy landed in front of her. He had sandy hair, large dark eyes and cocky grin. Lucy disliked him at once. "Hi Tiger Lily," he said.
Lucy stared; her courage was failing her. What should she say?
"H-hi P-et-ter," she stuttered.
"What you doing so far away from of the Indian camp?" he asked suspicious.
"I- I- I was just- I just- I spotted the Jolly Rodger and thought I could go spy on Hook and his crew."
Lucy could tell by the look on Pan's face that she had said the right thing.
"Well did you find anything?" he demanded bossily.
"No, I couldn't get close enough."
Peter scowled. "Oh well," he said sulkily. "Maybe I'll go spy on them later."

Peter flew with Lucy all the way to the Indian camp. She found him so infuriating. He boasted about the time he had cut off the captain's hand and how he had beaten him many times after that. Compared to him, Gale was beginning to look completely selfless. Every now and then he would disappear into the canopy and come back with a fruit or berry for Lucy to try as if he was trying to impress her, all the while his fairy fluttered around her as if purposefully trying to irritate her.

Lucy tried not to let her frustration show in her face as she ate the fruit Peter passed to her and laughed at the jokes he made about Captain Hook being a codfish. Lucy was glad when the Indians camp came into view and Pan said goodbye to her. He had just turned to leave when Lucy remembered what her father had asked her to do. Hastily, she called after Peter. Leaning in she briefly kissed him on the check before bidding him goodbye.

Peter was surprised when Tiger Lily's lips brushed against his cheek. She had never seemed to show any interest in him before, and everyone knew that he wasn't capable of romantic feelings. Like everything however, it didn't trouble him for long, a few seconds later he had brushed it off and set of bounding home.

Tinkerbell however had decided that there was something wrong with Tiger Lily today. She had seemed not quite herself, and Tink watching perched in a nearby flower had been filled with jealousy when Tiger Lily had leant in to kiss Peter. What did she think she was doing?

When Peter and Tinkerbell got back to the hideaway tree the lost boys were waiting for him.
"Can we go spy on the pirates Peter?" Curly asked eagerly.
"Oh yes!" cried Peter enthusiastically. "Tiger Lily did a rubbish job. She didn't find out anything. Lets spy on them for hours and then go tell her everything we find out." The boys cheered and followed Peter marching back into the forest in the direction of where the Jolly Rodger was anchored.

Tinkerbell followed but her head was filled with different ideas. She was going to find out exactly what was wrong with Tiger Lily and why she had tried to kiss her Peter.
