Originally I was going to post a bunch of chapters for one particular story that I've been meaning to continue in terms of getting the next chapters posted for it, but given the dark nature of three of them, I thought against it as due to Thanksgiving I did not want to seem insensitive or grim, and besides with how much stuff I need to get done within the rest of this month before December, it's probably going to take me sometime before I can get them finished, whether it'll be by the end of the month or so we'll just have to wait and see.
Anywho, I was absolutely super busy with Thanksgiving preparations days ago with Dad and his friends, and here I decided to post this as a late Thanksgiving gift to you guys.
Happy late Thanksgiving everybody!!
Please enjoy this new chapter!
"DING DONG"
"DING DONG"
Chimed the school bell as the final period of the day was now in session as everyone was in their seats, waiting for their teacher to come.
Said teacher soon did as she opened the door and greeted her students as they greeted her back.
The teacher in question had pale tan skin and lovely shiny black hair that was in a long braid and she wore black square frame glasses that made her olive green eyes stand out, She wore a simple light green cardigan shirt, dark brown jeans and black 1 inch heels, And looked to be no older than 30 and was notably married as she had a wedding ring on her left ring finger.
"Now before we begin, I have a few announcements to make." She announced as she got herself seated at her desk and brought out a few papers as she continued, "First of all, I'm happy to say that all of you did exceptionally well on your book reports from the other day, They were so good in fact that just about everybody got A's and B's."
This made everybody in the classroom cheered at that, grateful for the good grades.
"Next on the list, We will be having a small quiz, nothing too big, Just a simple one that I would like for you all to take." She told them.
This made some of the students murmured between each other and some of them lightly groaned while some politely stayed quiet.
"Don't worry students, like I said it's pretty simple. If you get it done fast enough then we can move on to the main course of this lovely Thursday, show and tell." She chimed in encouragingly.
This brightened up the mood as this got everybody smiling and some even cheering, as Thursdays were usually a show and tell day and just about everybody always had something new to show, And some who didn't were okay with watching what everybody else brought and nobody picked on anybody for not bringing anything to show.
"And lastly on the list, As you may have already noticed, It's getting very cloudy outside and even smells like rain might come, if it does start to rain be sure all of you get home as quick as possible, if by chance the rain starts to pick up badly if you haven't left the school yet then stay put and call your parents to come pick you up and for those who are already on the way take shelter in a shop somewhere and then call your parents to pick you up. But most importantly everyone, be safe and be careful as even a rainy day can be kind of dangerous at times." She warned in concern.
Everybody nodded as they understood, Especially two whose parents just so happened to be weathermen so they knew for a fact that they had to play it safe.
"Now with that out of the way, I'll pass on your quizzes, grab one and pass it to your next classmate and please start as soon as you get yours, The sooner you get these done the sooner we can get to the fun part." She told them as she showed them said quizzes in hand.
"Yes ma'am!" Everybody called out in unison.
Soon enough, everyone got their quizzes as they got started, eager to get started on show and tell as soon as possible.
And like promised, the quiz itself was pretty simple as pretty much everybody was breezing through it.
One student though seemed to be stuck on a particular question, not because it was hard, but because of the subject of the question itself.
The student in question just so happened to be none other than The resident greenette of the town, Yotsuba Koiwai.
No older than 8, with short emerald green hair done in four pigtails that make her head resemble her namesake, her eyes being the same color as them, pale light tan skin, wearing a white T-shirt with cherry red sleeves and shirt collar, a pair of beige shorts and wearing standard white elementary school shoes that were for indoors in Japanese schools as her usual matching red and white shoes were in a shoe locker just like everybody else's. And last but certainly not least, a golden bracelet with a beautiful emerald gem in the center and two white little cubic zirconium gems as one was on each side on the green gem.
It seemed like only yesterday when she first came into town with her father when she was 5 years old, 3 years have passed since moving to their current hometown and a lot has gone on, from adventures to new experiences, to some mishaps, and now she is close to finishing her first year in elementary school.
Everyone knew her well, The adventurous adorable child whose father was a freelance translator.
Carefree and energetic, kinda naive, And her heart was always in the right place even when she sometimes made a mistake without knowing it.
She was still pretty small but she has gotten slightly bigger as the years passed.
And she's learned a lot and became wiser the older she got, sure there were some things she still didn't know about but that was normal for an 8-year-old, sure she was still a bit too curious for her own good at times but again that was normal for her.
But... She would have liked to have avoided a particular subject She would come to be wary of upon starting her first year in elementary.
Especially as the question was this on the paper:
"Where are you from originally? (Name of the original hometown you're from, what it's like there, and what your family life was like there)."
This was a question She honestly couldn't really answer because she didn't know, aside from her father telling her that she was from Hawaii, She didn't know a thing about it, neither what her original hometown was like or what her family life was like there because she was an orphan.
Her father had told her how he found her.
She didn't know a thing about who her real mother and father were.
The bracelet (Which she had received from her dad when time came for her to know the truth not long after she turned eight) she had on her was the only clue she had that proved she use to have a real family, but so far nothing came out of it as nobody could find out who her parents were.
And... needless to say it became a subject that some students took pleasure in regarding how badly they treat her because of her being adopted and a foreigner.
Her father had told her there was nothing wrong with being adopted or from being a foreigner, and that her bullies were wrong to do that, yet she couldn't help but be bothered by the subject.
Especially when, upon learning of the state that she was born from, some students would badger her, asking her millions of questions about what Hawaii was like and what recommendations she should give them from there and so on, so many that she absolutely could not answer and often made her feel very pressured and stressed to the point of tearing up. While some call her a big cry baby and tell her to move back to the state and to stop drowning them in her tears.
Some people even pull nasty pranks on her just to see her cry, Not caring that they themselves would get in trouble and sometimes essentially bring their other classmates down with them even though they had nothing to do with it.
These stunts only made the more kinder and less malicious students defend her against the perpetrators and even tell them off more often than not, siding with her as they weren't going to stand for it.
She was very easy to pick on and tease and even bully, so it was easy to trick her or pull very upsetting pranks on her, call her names, ect.
Her more understanding and sensible classmates often looked out for her, but it wasn't exactly the same as her two best friends, don't get her wrong most of her classmates were nice friends and helped protect her from the bullying and were good people, but the friendship she had with Ena and Miura was stronger.
It is one of the few times she was sad that the three of them were not the same age, cuz then they could all go to the same school together and her friends could protect her from the bullying too like they always do at the end of the day when they come to pick her up so that the three of them can walk back home together since their middle school was close by to the elementary school she currently attends.
The bullies would often call her a tattletale for telling the teachers on them, her father always told her that it wasn't tattletaling if she was telling the truth especially if she was being picked on by others who didn't like her for some reason or another, Even when the bullies threaten to do more harm on her she would always tell the teachers what was going on, and while those bullies would get punished they would unleash their retribution on her later on.
Thankfully she was never given detention or time out or punished as the school itself had really good security so the bullies can never pin her for any sort of incriminating crime on her, They could not pretend to be the victims as the teachers would always get the Intel that the bullies themselves were the actual perpetrators.
Which only made said bullies angry and blamed her for it even though she had no fault in it.
Some even stole her lunch money which often made her hungry before she get home, sometimes she would get it back if a teacher caught them doing it quick enough and sometimes she didn't, Which promptly made her start packing a bento lunchbox (consisting of whatever foods she could stuff in it that wouldn't perish so quickly that was edible, all without her dad knowing) and a water bottle in her satchel just so she'll have something to eat even if it was more of a snack variety rather than a proper lunch.
As much as she would really like to move to a completely different school, her father just did not have the money to do that, and besides moving to a different school meant that she wouldn't be able to walk home with Ena or Miura, walking home with them made the trip home more bearable and fun as they would often go and play and hang out together either on the way home or do so before they make their way back home.
She couldn't ask for better friends than them. They always knew how to cheer her up and were there for her as if the three of them were sisters, and to her the girls were like sisters to her in all but blood.
Still.. In this school, while it was fun, there were a lot of things to learn, there were great new friends to meet, play, hang out with and learn with, She felt isolated because of the constant bullying and the fact that the girls were not there for her there.
It was all so sad.
"30 seconds students!" There teacher, Mrs. Nanako called out to the students which made the girl snap out of it
Hastily she scribbled the answer on the question Just saying that she was from Hawaii but didn't know anything beyond that as she was adopted, Although her handwriting in her haste was atrocious it at least it was legible enough.
Once she was done she flipped the paper over on its blank side as she sighed in relief just after the teacher called "Times up!" to everyone.
Once their quizzes were handed back in, Everyone got geared up for their weekly show and tell.
This brought her out of her sad mood as She was practically shaking in her seat in excited anticipation, wondering what everybody brought.
She was always 4th to last given her seating number so she had plenty of time to watch everybody else do their presentation before she did hers, and she had some pretty good stuff to show here.
And there was a pretty good reason why she had asked her dad for a bigger satchel (Which was dark green, emerald green, teal and white) for her to carry her things in to replace her smaller one which had gotten old and gone through wear and tear over the years.
That and the reason for the more serious wear and tear was because of her bullies who damaged her old bag enough that it needed to be replaced, their math teacher was really not pleased and forced them to pay her back with their lunch money, making them eat a salad Which the teacher always brought too much of, and her bullies viciously hated salad so it was a fitting punishment, and in the teacher's own eyes she believed that eating your greens would teach you how to be more disciplined in a sense.
They are also the reason why she always kept her satchel on her person and never left it alone anywhere no matter what, not even with another teacher, Not just because of them damaging her last bag but also because prior to that they often swiped her bag and flung it around like it were a toy, not caring what or who they hit, sometimes throwing it into traffic or into the duck pond or even swiping the other kids lunch moneys and stuffing them into hers to try and frame her for stealing it all, Which always thankfully gets disproven thanks to the security cameras (thankfully their school had locks on the shoe lockers as each student was responsible for their own keys and could not get a copy of another student's key without permission, and she always kept hers close to her as she made sure to never let it get taken or lose it, Although that wouldn't stop anybody from sending messages to others as there was an open slit on the metal doors that was big enough for anyone to get letters from anyone like a normal mailbox).
That and all the teachers truly do care about her as well as all their other students, To them they see she was kind, funny and adventurous, always willing to help out however she could, she couldn't steal or purposely hurt anybody for malicious purposes even if her life depended on it.
Also keep in mind that her satchel for both the old and the new one she has were both waterproof so she didn't have to worry about getting replacement school supplies back then and now.
As 1 by 1 each student was doing their own presentation, It only reminded her that none of her bullies were in her last period class, which was something to be grateful for, the same went for her first period and her fourth period classes.
Soon enough it was her turn as she merrily hopped out of her seat with her bag in hand as she made her way until she was soon in front of the whole class.
"Hey everyone! Today I brought something really cool and cute to show you all." Yotsuba announced as she proceeded to open her bag and pull stuff out to put on the display table beside her.
Everybody looked in awe with many of the girls squealing at the adorable appeal of the items she brought in question.
They were none other than Pusheen the cat items and merchandise, most of which she got from the subscription boxes that her father recently signed her up for earlier that year, And some were stuff that her father bought her himself, either from online or from a convenient garage sale close by one of his work appointments.
Of course there were a handful that she kept and there was some that she gave away to other people who she believed might like some of it, that and she didn't want to overstuff her room or house with so many items from the subscription boxes. She also gave a few to her father as both some stuff would serve her dad better and some stuff she wouldn't need for certain things until she was a bit older like a flashdrive, coffee cup, adult size apron and such.
And there were some items she couldn't take to school whether it was because of being fragile or not.
There were some items in question that she couldn't bring with her, whether it was because they were fragile or there's only so much room that her satchel can take it before it becomes overstuffed.
The items she brought with her were: Pusheen shirts, pocket warmers, key chains, erasers, a beanie hat, 2 figurine, fanny pack, umbrellas, pins, socks, a Key cover, multiple stickers, a scarf, mittens, plushies, a raincoat, a sleep mask, some embroidery patches, a beach bag, a beach ball, caps, and a pair of sunglasses.
Needless to say they were a huge hit and it really brought a big smile on Yotsuba's face.
The rest of the class thankfully went by without any issues and before anyone knew it the bell rang once more indicating that it was the end of the day as everybody gathered their things and began to walk out of the classroom.
Yotsuba herself made her way to the front entrance so she could gather her outdoor shoes and wait there for Ena and Miura to come so they could walk home together.
And thankfully she already brought rain gear with her so she was very well equipped for today.
"Well well well, if it isn't the residential Ivy weed." Came the voice of someone she knew all too well, unfortunately, and was hoping not to run into right away after school got out, but sadly that wasn't the case here.
Turning to the source of the voice, much to her dismay It really was none other than Coquina Wakitada and her sisters Leeko and Nalana.
These three were triplets although they looked a lot alike there were distinctive differences between the three of them. While their hair (which was Yellow) and skin color (which was a natural tan) were exactly the same Their hairstyles however were different as the eldest for her long hair in two high pigtails, The second oldest had medium length hair and kept it down while the youngest had short hair close to being a pixie bob cut. The oldest had sharp dark blue eyes, The second oldest had olive green eyes and the youngest had dark brown eyes. And lastly for their choice of outfits the eldest always wore pretty sparkly dresses and Mary Jane shoes (Which were preferably pinkish purple and black respectfully), The second oldest was more sporty and always wore black basketball shorts and a plain white T-shirt and soccer shoes, And ask for the youngest She was the only one who wore glasses as she wore big round red frame glasses with a weird swirly lenses, wore a long sleeve cherry red cardigan which was under a white vest, dark red skorts and dark red high boots that reach to her knees. The oldest had a dark pink and purple backpack, the second oldest had a white, gray and black backpack and the youngest had a solid dark brown backpack. And lastly all three of them had a different voice as while in some cases they sounded similar for the most part they were different between the three of them.
Among any bullies she has faced since starting elementary school, this girl especially along with her sisters were the worst, especially also as they made her their primary target and took any chance they could to make her life even more difficult.
She just couldn't understand why they tormented herself, from the first moment they saw her they just immediately labeled her as a target of their aggression and strife.
Don't get her wrong She has actually tried to make friends with them, find some common ground with them and all that, but they vocally refused and in fact rebuked her for trying to make nice with them.
They just will not leave her alone, even when she tries to put distance between herself and them they actively pursue her, they just don't know when to stop.
"You've been ignoring us since PE. That's not a friendly thing to do." Leeko taunted in a playful but otherwise mocking manner.
Oh no she wasn't going to fall for that again after the last time she fell for it, well last several times, she wasn't going to be fooled this time.
She recalled what her father said about trying to ignore them, It wasn't easy but she had to stay strong for her dad and friends.
She can't let them win this time.
She turned away from them as she approached the shoe lockers so she could collect her things.
"What? No childish apology? We're rather disappointed Yowai Mo." Nalana chimed in next in the same manner.
"Ignore them Yotsuba, just ignore them." She encouraged herself internally as she tried not to pay them any mind, no matter how much she hated that nickname they gave her.
A nickname she once found to be cute until she learned the meaning behind it, to which she grew to loath it afterwards.
No matter how much they jab at her she would not turn their way as she focused on grabbing her shoes, taking off her school ones and putting them in her locker before locking it up and putting on her real shoes.
"Ow!" Yotsuba yelped in pain as she held the left side of her head, wincing as she heard the sound of something hitting the ground as she looked down to see it was a hard piece of chalk.
"Pay attention when we're talking to you Yowai Mo!" Coquina yelled at her with a smug grin.
"Coquina, stop it." Yotsuba snapped as she talked back, now turning to face them, "Just leave me alone!"
"Make us you crybaby!" Leeko mocked.
"At least we're not ugly like you!" Nalana sneered.
"At least I'm not a couple of bullies who like picking on people for fun!" Yotsuba countered, Not caring how loud she had become, nor the fact that all this commotion was getting the attention of the other students who were just about to leave out the front entrance.
For everyone else who was watching, they were surprised as this was the first time that the greenette had ever snapped at anyone, They can only hope this was a good sign as they knew too well that the triplets were nothing but trouble.
"It's not our fault you were born a weak orphan." Coquina proclaimed as she used "Orphan" as a curse, "Stupid babies like you don't belong in our school."
"It's everyone's school not yours!" Yotsuba objects, "Why won't you guys just leave me alone already!?"
"Not until you move out of this town and never come back you stupid parasite!" The triplets all said, "You're too small and happy to live and We hate you for it!"
That rattled her to her core, No one had ever actually said they hated her before, And she found that she didn't like this new feeling as despite her feeling like her tears were about to well up in her eyes she fought harder than ever not to cry again in front of him.
"I don't care what you have to say..." She told them in frustration, her hands tightened into fists, "... at least I'm a better friend to my classmates than you 3 ever will."
"Who needs friends when you have toys and money?" Coquina scoffed before she pointed a finger at her as she inquired, "Speaking of stuff, we heard from a few classmates that you brought a bunch of stuff for show and tell today. Since you're being defiant to us, We expect you to pay us back with all your stuff, then we'll be on our way."
"No way!" She refused, shaking her head, "You always steal my things and you never give them back or you break them on purpose to make me cry! This is my stuff and none of you have any right to steal it from me you bratty thieves!!"
The three of them dramatically gasped in shock before they glared at her in rage and viciously pounced on her without warning.
A struggle began as the other students tried to pry the girls off of the greenette but none of them refused as they bit and slapped anybody trying to stop them repeatedly.
It was three against one and poor Yotsuba was gravely outnumbered, She fought hard trying to stop them as she pleaded in her mind for all of this to stop.
Suddenly she felt herself being pulled away as she felt two pairs of hands on her that yanked her out of the pile, looking up she smiled in relief, seeing that Ena and Miura were here.
Ena Ayase, She had pale tan skin, dark chocolate brown hair that went down to her back, her eyes were the same color, she wore a short sleeve orange shirt with a white kitten in the center of it where her chest was and white stripes around the ends of her sleeves, collar and a single line above the kitten, a caramel brown skirt that went down to her knees and across strap sandals and backpack of the same color. She also had a bandaid on her right knee due to having scraped in badly yesterday.
And Miura Hayasaka, the only tomboy of them, She had light tan skin, dark navy blue-black hair that was kept up in a high kinda spiky ponytail (She allowed her hair to get a bit longer in the last 3 years, keeping it around her shoulders but she usually prefers to keep in a ponytail), her eyes were the same color as her hair, she wore a white T-shirt with Dark turquoise around the collar and and a single line going down her short sleeves, a light blue and white wrist band on her right write with the logo of her dad's company on there, dark turquoise skorts that went to above her kneecaps with a white line above the ends of them, dark and white shoes, and a grey and black one strap backpack.
The two girls in question, Who had gently set the girl down back on her feet, were really upset as their sudden appearance made everybody stop and back away, but not for the triplets as in their hands they had a good number of the items Yotsuba had brought for show and tell, including the rain gear she was going to use for today.
"Listen here Wakitada siblings." Miura started as she gave the trio a hard glare, "It's bad enough that you pick on Yotsuba every single day, but now actually tackling her to the ground And stealing her things in this manner? That's going too far and we will not tolerate it."
"Give them back right now or we'll tell both the teachers and your parents about this." Ena warned them in a disappointed yet frustrated tone, Only for the sibling trio giving them raspberries in defiance.
"Never you hags!" The second eldest shouted, "That stupid weed doesn't deserve nice things!"
"She's not a weed! Now give them back!" Ena demanded.
"You're not our mother you weirdo! Why are you even protecting that stupid baby anyways? You're middle schoolers so you shouldn't have anything to do with elementary school students." Nalana nagged, "And don't even go on that stupid spiel about you three being sisters in all that blood again, being related to an orphan in any manner means that you're weak too!"
"That's not true you twerp!" Miura argued, fists balled up as it looked like she was debating whether or not she should pound them or just scream at them, "There's nothing wrong with being an orphan and there's most certainly nothing wrong with being associated with an orphan, friends or otherwise. Orphans are not weak, And I should know, my grandmother was an orphan herself and yet she grew up to be a successful wedding planner and was very loved and well respected by her co-workers, and still is even after she retired."
"Liar!" Leeko denied.
"You're the liar." Miura countered, now physically shaking that somebody even dared to call her a liar about her grandmother.
"We will say this one last time," Ena said, her being very close to grinding her own teeth in rage as she was visibly vibrating, "Give back the stuff you stole from Yotsuba or you will pay the consequences."
"No way!" The three of them yelled as Nalana ran away with Miura chasing after her in circles, Leeko proceeded to rip apart and destroy the items she had in her hands however she could and Coquina held her loot as she sneered with so much vemon it almost felt suffocating from hearing it alone, "Your "sister" doesn't deserve to Be born and she's better off being left for dead!!!!"
All the other students who were witnessing this all gasped in horror at what that girl had said, Ena and Miura (Who stopped chasing Nalana upon hearing that) Especially were horrified and immediately began to boil in rage with the latter just about ready to pound the brats into grape jelly without another thought.
And Yotsuba?
She didn't stay.
Before she knew it she was already running in the streets, trying to get as far away from that as possible as she couldn't stop her own tears this time as they started to flow freely down her face.
Even as the rain started to pelt her hard and fast she didn't stop, neither in her stride nor in the tears that she was letting out.
Never had anybody, let alone someone around her age, has ever said something so awful, and she never thought that being told this by somebody tormenting her in her face would hurt so much.
Thinking about all the times that any bully, especially those triplets had tormented her only made her tears flow even more.
Why did they not like her?
She was friendly and she loved playing games and having adventures, She followed the rules like everybody else, She wouldn't intentionally harm somebody for her own malicious purpose, so why?
It's not her fault that she had been orphaned when she was a baby, it's not her fault she has green hair, it's not her fault that she wasn't from Japan originally, it wasn't her fault that she was smaller than most kids her age, it's not her fault that her dad wasn't biologically related to her.
Her father had always told her this, that none of it was her fault and the fault lies in the bullies who have wronged her.
But she couldn't help thinking that it was somehow.
Why do those bullies have to ruin everything? Especially those triplets?
Why did they have to make everything turn out so bad? Like today?
It was bad enough having been tripped upon first coming into the school this morning (narrowly avoiding a trip to the nurse's office), it was bad enough when the trio decided to gang up on her in PE via hitting her with dodgeballs all at once without remorse (repeatedly so she couldn't have fun), it was bad enough to hear them openly make fun of her in passing, and now just when She thought she could end the day on a high note on the last period of the day, those 3, once more, had to go and ruin everything.
Not only did one of them throw a piece of chalk at her head (which hurt by the way), They also said even worse things to her than any other time before, they openly demanded that she hand over her belongings and they (hurtfully) tackled her to the ground and stole a good handful of her things (including her rain gear, as stated before), leaving her sore and shaken, And then those awful words at the very end when her friends came to the rescue...
'Why do they hate me so much? Just why?!' She thought as she slowed down and started to pant, uncaring about the fact that she was getting drenched, not caring that her running away like this only made her look weaker in her bully's eyes and never solved anything either.
It all just broke her heart.
"Yotsuba!" Called out Ena and Miura as they ran up to her, deep concern written all over their faces but their eyes shined with relief at having found her.
Both of them already had their umbrellas out, with the youngest Ayase holding a spare umbrella in her left hand as the right was holding the one she already had opened.
The greenette didn't speak but instead lunged at them both and held them close in a hug as she started to cry, neither of them said anything and just held her close, not caring that they themselves were getting drenched too.
Both of them were just as upset, it didn't help that they were not the same age so they couldn't be there to protect their friend, nor the fact that the triplets father happens to be one of the chairmen behind the school so they couldn't get expelled even if they did get punished by their parents.
They have tried hard to help her combat against her bullies, anything that didn't involve actually getting into a fist fight as she would only get herself in trouble by doing so at school and the bullies would try and take advantage of that and make her look like the perpetrator.
And it was obvious that repeatedly telling the teachers on them wasn't making them stop, even if it was the right thing to do and always will be, And yes the teachers have done their job in properly punishing them for their actions, the bullies just will not leave her alone, especially those three.
She was still young, she was still sensitive, and yes admittedly naive and too curious for her own good, but she was a good person and she didn't deserve to get tormented because of things that weren't her fault.
If only someone could help her too, so they and Mr. Koiwai wouldn't have to do it alone, but who?
Just then, just as Yotsuba had finally calmed down enough to let them go and wipe away her tears, the three of them heard a weird peeping sound, almost like the sound of a chick.
The three of them started to look around trying to find the source of it, soon enough they all spotted a group of... fluff balls?
They all rubbed their eyes in disbelief, looking back up only to see that yes they really did see a group of fluff balls, three of them, all of them looking like chicks but more rounder and with no feet, big fluffier wings, and the fact that not only were two of them sporting bunny ears on top but all three of them were a different color as the only one that really resembled a chick was orange, the first bunny chick in the group was a sunflower yellow and the second one was chartreuse.
"Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?" Miura asked weirded out, blinking hard. The others nodded not saying anything, "Okay just checking."
All three of the fluff balls were hopping in place almost gesturing the three of them to follow them through an alley which they believe they had emerged from.
The girls looked to the other, contemplating on whether or not they should follow them, Yotsuba gave a look of wanting to find out what was up, Ena was the same although she was a little more cautious, and Miura herself was The only one of the group that didn't feel right about following some mysterious little fuzzies that came out of nowhere...
...But not even she could fight off her own curiosity, so with a reluctant sigh she nodded to them as they nodded it back.
Upon accepting the other umbrella handed to her by Ena, Yotsuba opened it before making her way to the little guy's only for them to hop into the alley that they seem to have come out of, not wanting to lose them she ran after them with the girls following close behind.
As the girls ran for some reason they felt like that alley seemed to have been much longer than any normal alley they've ever cut through, they didn't really know why, it just felt like it.
After who knows how long the three of them soon came out of the alley and onto a street that they've never been on before and in fact looked rather deserted, There were shops lined up that seemed to have been closed down for some time If the older building architect and the boarded up windows were any indication.
In fact also they even looked like they were decades old.
And Indeed this area felt very unknown, unfamiliar, and foreign to the three of them, Especially for Ena and Miura given the fact that they've lived in this town longer than Yotsuba had.
Yotsuba eventually found the little fluff balls as she saw that they were heading into some kind of theater that seemed to still be lit up, like it was still open, weird but if there were people inside then maybe they could all take shelter there until the rain stopped, Especially as it was starting to get even worse outside as not only was it raining harder but the wind was starting to really pick up quite heavily.
"Guys over there!" She called to her friends as she had to raise her voice due to the fact that the wind was picking up so much that she could barely hear herself think, pointing to the theater that was down to the left.
The girls nodded as the three of them started to run towards the theater itself, just hoping they wouldn't break their umbrellas with how bad the wind was picking up, pushing against the wind as it seemed to be trying to push them back.
As soon as they were at the theater they ran for the entrance immediately without a second thought, practically yanking the door open before slamming it shut as they all started to pant, dripping wet as they all collectively dropped their, still open and intact, umbrellas trying to collect themselves.
The walls of the theater seem to have been much thicker than they looked on the outside as they could barely hear the wind blowing as it now only sounded faint to their ears, The only thing that could really audibly be heard were their own pants which echoed softly in the halls.
Once they caught their breaths they all looked up, only to see a sign (In a brightly lit hallway) right in front of them, one of those signs you can usually see propped up next to a cafe or shop that would show their specialties or the names of the shop.
It read "Welcome to Wonderworld theater".
"Wonderworld? What's that?" The 3 asked at the same time, baffled as none of them can recall ever hearing about such a theater named that.
Little did the three of them know that they were in for one adventure none of them were going to forget.
I hope you guys enjoyed this first chapter, it took me a while to think about how to start this first one off, I mean really took some wrestling in my mind (For ages) before I finally came to one that would work.
As I said before there are other chapters I'm going to post for another story of mine, but they're not finished yet and it would be too dark due to the nature of three of them so I didn't want to seem offensive and grim on the day of Thanksgiving or the day after that.
What do you think? Leave your review here and I hope all of you are having a good day or night, until next time, TTFN!!!
