Chapter 3 - Hospital

It was impressive, it was like that time he was investigating a group of money forgers! Tintin barely remained upright and awake, in any case the hospital was nothing new. When he finally woke up, he saw the nurse and doctor beside him, their clothes on an armchair and with them, the letter he had taken.

"Mister Tintin, you're lucky your dog called for help."

When he was able to receive visitors, an hour later, the medicine had incredible sleeping power. But what had happened? As soon as the detectives arrived at the room with the flowers for the patient, they explained that the Captain had shared his concern with them, called them on the phone, hoping that the Siamese twins could help, was so distressed that he didn't think of anyone else.

"And where is the Captain?" asked Tintin as he pet Snowy.

The detectives sighed, as they glued their canes to the side.

"Captain Haddock has disappeared."

"I would say more: He was kidnapped."

This was a difficult thing to hear, at the same moment I knew I couldn't stay hospitalized any longer! His record was that time, when they were preparing to go to the Moon. He reached out to pick up what he had found among his clothes, the brothers certainly didn't have many clues, he handed them the paper.

"Read this. Whoever kidnapped me wanted to know about the Golden Speedster."

"But he is not under the Captain's control," said Thompson.

"But he didn't believe that we had returned the vile metal to his country. And his instance came from one person: Antón Karabine ".

"But he was arrested" recalled Thomson .

"He certainly bought the right people," said Dopont , in a rare moment of brilliance.

The villain, whose mark was a red crocodile, soon learned that the chest he had thrown into the sea was worthless. Now he was with the Captain in a private helicopter, while calling his second in command a greenhorn for not restraining a 17-year-old teenager who was unarmed and tied up.

By the time the boy left the hospital, he already knew where they should go, the letter indicated Paris, France.

It actually didn't take long to get the tickets, Tintin always paid for all his own tickets and theater tickets when he went out with Haddock, so he clearly had his money. First it was the plane, then a train.

The interior of the vehicle was somewhat dark, even with the slightly orange lamps, the floor was made of wood and the curtains were elegant. But the three of them didn't have time to approve or disapprove of the decoration, they made sure that Girassol was safe with a competent police officer in the castle and were now thinking about where exactly Caffee Le Procope was.

Tintin knew that it was a very old restaurant, active since 1686, there was a Napoleon hat in the place, as the figure frequented the place, Victor Hugo had also been there, but he didn't know the address.

The problem would be solved by buying a map in the hotel lobby, the detectives organized the stadium while the reporter wasted no time and went looking, it seemed like he was the real detective there. "Very well Snowy, Le Procope is on Rue de l'Ancienne Comedy. So that's where we should look for suspicious things."

Paris was a beautiful city, museums, theaters, mansions, cafes, pastry shops, however there wasn't even enough time to look and see if the Eiffel Tower was visible from where it was. The amateur detective's eyes were fixed on the papers in his hands. The letter had a message in another language:

Godt nok , du skal tage Tintin og Haddock med i bibliotekskælderen nær cafeen . Når cafeen åbner , moder jeg dig .

"Heavens, I just hope this doesn't take us to Copenhagen! But if I have to, I have no choice!"

He watched the place for some time, resisted the urge to see Napoleon's hat and did not enter the cafe to avoid any type of suspicion, in case someone there was also involved in this scheme. They had given up on him, but if they saw him, the story would be different.

"So the Captain is in the basement of the library with the kidnapper. There are only two hours until Le Procope opens, we will keep a lookout and when it opens, we will follow Karabine through the confusing underground tunnels of Paris. Right, gentlemen?"
