Chapter 6: Pet Show:
Iolanta's POV:
Kazimir told me his story. Can you believe it? Merpeople! And that alias that villain used... Animo! What a ridiculous name! Speaking of animals, I had a pet show to get to! Laventry has the mares all trained.
. . .
My mares and I were ready and so were Pipa Jing and her Perytons. They look like deer/bird monsters. Anyway, the contest began!
Singer/Chorus: I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through
And we mean to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The human race
And I ain't gonna lose
And we mean to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World
We are the champions, my friends
And we'll keep on fighting till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World!
After that montage, came the race. Both creature groups were racing, but then one of the Perytons fell and my mares... decided to help it. And the Perytons crossed the finish line.
"Looks like I win," says Pipa Jing.
"Actually, the judges declare the mares the winners," says the Chamberlain.
"What," asks Pipa Jing, "why?"
"Because they stopped to help one of your perytons," says the Chamberlain.
Not only have my mares stopped eating people... but they've become selfless angels!
"Let's hear it for the mares," says Hercules. I invited him.
. . .
I then gave my mares to the Knights of Justice. They could really use new horses. Was I going to miss them? Of course, I was. I grew attached to them. But sometimes, you have to make sacrifices for your cause.
