Saphira stared at her phone as she scrolled through social media in search of the girl she recognized. Being pushed into the brick wall was not fun at all. Her elbow was still aching even a few hours after the incident. It made spending time with the animatronics and eating the cupcakes a lot less happy for hers as she mind was on who it was who attacked her. Though she didn't know if it was an actual attack, or if it was someone who was just hiding and decided to leave when she realized the animatronics were sentient and killed people. Of course, she would not know the animatronics were alive, so the girl wouldn't be going around about that. But Saphira did know she had to figure out who it was.
She was certain it would have to be someone she knew from school. There were three girls she knew who were blonde at school. One had been her bully since she was in kindergarten, the other two ended up becoming her bullies after her brother died. Those three girls actually became very good friends with each other too, so it could be any one of those three girls. Hayley, Carly and Lisa were the three girls who used to torment her. And Saphira did not have good memories when it came to Hayley at all. Hayley hated Saphira from the start, and she could never work out why she had it out for her.
The bullying only got worse after Hayley found out Saphira when to the pizzeria almost every day. Hayley tried to make Saphira feel stupid because Saphira had become close friends with the animatronics. Saphira did have some backpacks and lunchboxes with the animatronics on them, and they ended up being destroyed by Hayley. Saphira stopped bringing those to school because of it, though the bullying never relented. And Saphira hoped it was not Hayley as she did not know if the girl would have recognized her after all these years.
Saphira didn't tell the animatronics who she suspected who had pushed her into the wall, because they couldn't exactly do anything. Plus, she didn't want them to feel bad that she was picked on in school for liking them. Saphira knew it was not their fault, nor was it her fault. As far as Saphira knew, Hayley's motivation for bullying her was because she enjoyed making her cry and hate coming to school. That is what Hayley told her once.
Hayley's bullying still wasn't as bad as her close friends when they turned their backs on her in her time of need. Saphira could never look past losing her friends because of a car accident that wasn't her fault, so Hayley's bullying didn't impact her as much as that did. But the very idea that Hayley might know she is working at the horror attraction kind of made her nervous, in case Hayley decided to return.
But Saphira tried not to focus too much as Fredbear's admittance to knowing more than he has let on has made Saphira curious. She was thinking that she would take a closer look at the Haunted Classroom to try and figure out what might be hidden. Saphira doubted they would have much luck, but that building was full of secrets. Especially since the building itself is much older than the pizzeria. Saphira didn't know the history of the building too much, but it was left abandoned long before it became the pizzeria she knows now. She would need to find out what it was before it became a pizzeria, unless it was always owned by someone who never thought to turn it into a business. Especially since Afton wasn't the original owner, so maybe the old owner had made areas of the building that were secret and Afton found them and used them for his own need.
Saphira was in the office, and it was just after three thirty right now. She had a red velvet cupcake sitting on the desk as a leftover from the cupcakes that they had eaten. The animatronics thoroughly enjoyed the cupcakes. Springtrap himself seemed to really enjoy the cinnamon spice cupcakes the most, even though he did really want to enjoy the red velvets more. They did manage to cheer her up a bit more by giving her ice cream with the cupcakes she had eaten, and it was nice.
But Saphira was still in a lot of pain. She had strapped an ice pack to her elbow, mostly because while they were sitting in the dining room, Bonnie noticed her elbow had swelled a lot. Even with the bandages around the elbow, he could see the swelling. She had not noticed, but the throbbing pain of her elbow did make it quite obvious of the damage done. It would take a while, and she had the ice pack on it to try and reduce the swelling as quickly as possible.
Springtrap was not in the office as he left to eat what was left of the trespassers, even after eating the cupcakes. She thought it was very sweet that he prioritized her over his own hunger. Saphira didn't want him to, but he did it out of his own choice. Saphira knew she probably couldn't change his mind, considering he has already said that his priorities have changed.
"How are you feeling?" She looked up from her phone in surprise when she heard Nightmare's voice. He looked at her with a concerned expression. "I feel awful that you were left to deal with a trespasser on your own, Saphira. I know we kind of focused on the ones you saw, but you were suspicious when Springtrap and Fredbear caught the new scent. Though I guess they didn't think much of it."
"I don't blame them about it though, Nightmare. They couldn't have known based on their experience." Saphira took a deep breath and put her phone on the desk. "And I'll be fine. My elbow hurts, but I don't really have a choice but to just live with it until it heals, Nightmare. I just won't be able to move it very well."
Nightmare hummed a little as he stepped closer to her. He eyed off her arm and looked at her curiously. "I do wonder what will happen if this was the very first person to escape the pizzeria without being killed and eaten."
"Not much, really. They aren't going to know how alive you really are. They just might be surprised at how sentient you are, and might think it's just the AI." Saphira was not worried about what information would be divulged, but she had a feeling Afton could also deal with this person. "So I don't think it will be a concern anyway, Nightmare."
Nightmare did still seem worried about it, but as Saphira was not as worried about it as he was, he figured that he could drop it and it would be fine. "I am still surprised that they didn't try to do anything else to you…but they were smart." She nodded in agreement and looked at the cameras again as he looked at her curiously. "You know, I am pretty sure you have also been lying to everyone." She looked at him in surprise and frowned, not knowing why he would say that. "You know what I am talking about, Saphira."
She shook her head. "No, I do not."
He rolled his red eyes in irritation. "Saphira, you already know that on the night we were delivered to the pizzeria, I opened my eyes and I saw a human dressed in black taking pictures of myself in the truck." She tensed a little as soon as she heard him speaking about that. "Ah, ha! I knew it. I am pretty sure it was you who was there. You just won't admit it."
Saphira knew the reason why she would not admit to it out loud, and she did not know why he brought it up again. "Why bother bringing it up again, Nightmare? I think it's ridiculous. Besides, you don't know if it was really me."
"I do, because there was no other scent aside from the normal employees." Nightmare sighed in irritation. "Plus, I went back to the loading dock and your scent was the strongest next to the scent of Afton and Mike. So I am not a fool. I might be a fool, but don't take me for an idiot."
Saphira really did not know what to say. She glanced at the vents slightly as she knew Afton would be listening. She really did not want to say, but Nightmare probably wanted to hear her say it. "Alright, fine…I am not really in the mood to fight against you anyway, Nightmare. So if you could get off my back about this, I would appreciate it."
Nightmare smirked a little as he seemed happy she was admitting to what happened that night. "So you admit it?" She nodded and rolled her eyes. "I knew it! But now…" He waved his index finger curiously and looked at her. "Why were you snooping around like that? I hope you know the could have come back and really hurt you."
"I am fully aware of that, Nightmare." She was irritated at the moment with him. "And I only snuck here to the pizzeria to see what you guys looked like. That was literally the only reason. And of course, I dressed in black so that way I would blend in with the shadows." She sighed and shook her head. "Happy?"
"So why not admit to it?" Saphira flinched as she heard Springtrap. She had not realized that he had come back to the office, and he was standing in the doorway. Nightmare was also startled and he grimaced, not realizing that he had heard that. "Why not admit to it?"
She shrugged and looked away with a frown. "Because there are eyes and ears in those vents, Springtrap. Anything that I say or do could be considered enough to have those Freddles attack me. And now, Nightmare had to go and blab on about it, and force me to admit to something that is not a big deal."
Springtrap glanced at the vent and he sighed. "Fine…that makes sense. We should not have said it out loud, so I get that. But you wouldn't have had to say it loudly. Whispering it to us would have been fine."
Saphira did not think that would be the case. She did not know how good the hearing on the Freddles were, so Saphira did not whisper for that reason. But now there was no reason to lie. Afton would know now. She just hoped that he would not get suspicious and check out the truck for trackers. She knew he would find the tracker she had stuck to the vehicle. He wasn't stupid.
"It doesn't matter now. It has been said and done, and I just want to have a quiet rest of my shift. Is that okay with the two of you?" They both nod as they see that Saphira was irritated by this, and she was now worried about what Afton might do. Saphira looked at the cupcake on the desk before looking at them. "Do either one of you want the last cupcake? I really don't think I can fit it in."
"Really? You only ate four," Nightmare commented as he looked at it in surprise. "We all ate more than that…though I guess our appetites are bigger…" She nodded as that was true. "But…I think you need it more, given that sweet food tend to be comfort foods for when humans are sad, hurt and angry."
"Yeah…but I can't eat it." Saphira looked at Springtrap with a smile. "Maybe you would want it, Springtrap? I don't mind. I think I already ate enough cupcakes tonight anyway. Four might not seem that much, but I did eat something before I came to work, and I haven't been hungry all night. Plus…the incident before also kind of took away my desire to eat any of the cakes."
Springtrap pondered on the offer. "Well…if you are sure you aren't going to eat it…" She shook her head as she did not want to eat it. "I guess it would be a waste to not eat it. But…you can eat it, Nightmare. I am full from eating before anyway, so I don't want to push it." Nightmare grinned as he grabbed the cupcake and quickly put it in his mouth. "It is definitely a pain that you ended up being injured the way you were. I was hoping we would play some air hockey, but I would imagine you don't want to. And I don't blame you."
Saphira nodded as he would be right about that. "I am just wanting a quiet end to the night. I wanted to do something too, Springtrap. But…" She looked at her elbow as she thought about the next few days. "I don't think I will be doing much for a few days. My arm's not broken, but it hurts. It will take a few days to probably feel okay enough to do anything."
Springtrap was not surprised by that. "I guess we need to think of some other things. And drawing is kind of out of the question too. But…we will just have to get creative. But I think tonight we can just talk." Saphira was relieved and she smiled at him. "The one thing that is getting me right now is…I can't help but wonder what more Fredbear knows."
She was a little surprised that he brought that up as she was also curious. "I am surprised you feel that way. But I must admit, he didn't seem like he covering up anything when he seemed to mad at me. When both you and Fredbear were trying to get me to leave, or kill me, it didn't seem fake. I am not sure if I actually believe him."
"I feel the same, but what if he is telling the truth? Not believing him is one thing, but it will always still be possible he had been telling the truth." He was not wrong about that. "I am not really sure how to feel about it too. Fredbear stood by my side when I was at my lowest…and now I can't help but feel that was fake."
"I don't think that would be the case. I think Fredbear genuinely stood by you, Springtrap. But I guess when I came back, he might have had mixed feelings, and decided it was best to try and chase me away. Especially if what he has said is true. But…I think if you managed to chase me away, I might be roped back in." Saphira shivered at the very thought about that. "But if Fredbear does know things…I kind of understand why he would keep it to himself. Given everything it would be confronting. Maybe, for example, he knows what has actually happened to Mike's brother."
Springtrap still did not know how to feel about this. It made him feel like he didn't know Fredbear very well at all, and it was bothering him. "I suppose you are right…"
"I am in agreement with Saphira." Nightmare knew that he has not been around for very long, but he has taken in a lot of things. "I suppose my opinion may not hold as much weight. But I have noticed Fredbear to often be thinking about things. I don't know what he has been thinking about, but a few times when I pass by his dining room, I often see him sitting on his stage with a troubled expression. I can't imagine what it is like to know things that seem important, but you are too afraid to say anything because you know what the implications could be."
Springtrap pondered on Nightmare's words carefully. He was a little annoyed Nightmare had interrupted him, but he was surprised by how thoughtful Nightmare's words were. "Hmm…I suppose I do not know what it is like to be in his position. And, I am going to be honest, it worries me deeply. When Saphira and I accidently stumbled across the wall that we used to see all the time. All the pictures of the Biggest Animatronic Fan was of Saphira with all of us at the time." Springtrap clenched his hands and unclenched them. "And this person who escaped…well…we don't know who it is. We don't know if this is some kind of plan…and now that we know the Haunted Classroom might be hiding something, though I would be surprised if it was, it just seems…like we are dealing with some weird mind tricks."
"That is what I am getting too, Springtrap. We're not dealing with an ordinary person, that much I figured out. But…that's what is making this dangerous." Saphira sighed deeply and glanced at Mike's computer. She knew that a Freddle had done something with the computer, but she could not yet work out what that might have been. "Even if it is true, though…we can't just try and charge into any of this kind of information like a bull. That would be stupid."
Springtrap knew that there was nothing more to really say about this. He knew that Saphira was thinking about so many things regarding Afton, and he wished he could do more. He sighed deeply as his ears droop to the side slightly. "If we weren't stuck inside this pizzeria, maybe things might be different." She nodded slowly in agreement as she could see that as well. "I often think that leaving this place would be good. But I don't even know if people would accept us. Especially with our diet. How would we even be able to eat?"
That was also a good point. Saphira felt horrible that the animatronics felt trapped. But she did know that if the chance was to arise, maybe there could be someway, but now was not the time. "If I was able to think of a way to help with that, I would, Springtrap. At the moment, we can't. And, for the moment, there are other things that are of more concern than that. I'm sorry that you feel like you can't protect me, because I have to leave this place every day at the end of my shift. I know you want to do that. But…I can't imagine what it would be like bringing you home…my parents and sister would freak out, probably end up causing you enough irritation that you might lash out at them. Especially my little sister."
Springtrap could not help but smirk at the idea of being in a house with Saphira. He has always tried to imagine what human houses actually looked like. He would sometimes see ads on the TVs that were on during the day of the pizzeria. He would see different buildings, and he would often imagine what would be considered normal. And he has been doing that a whole lot more now that Saphira was working here. He could not help but be extremely curious about her life.
"I think if your parents and sister were not there…I would relish in the opportunity," Springtrap said with a smirk, and Saphira raised an eyebrow while she thought more on everything else. "We would finally be able to relax. We would not have little crawlies crawling through the vents spying on us. There would be no stress in keeping in character during the day. And…I would get to see the very world you live in."
She looked at him as she listened to him and she wondered if that was a dream of his. Maybe it was. It seemed quite normal to her, for people to want to have a home. But for Springtrap, it would mean more. And for all the animatronics, including the nightmares. She smiled a little as she could not help but feel for him. "That actually is quite sweet, Springtrap. A lot of us take a house for granted, as shelter is considered a right for humans. But for some, it is also a privilege. Many who are homeless, often, don't have a shelter. Sometimes they just have a sleeping bag, may a tent or cardboard box, but it is not considered a home. You might have a place to shelter in from the weather, you might see the stars through the windows, but you never have felt the fresh air on your bodies. Nor have you felt it fill your lungs." She could see it being sad more than anything. "Maybe someday I will own a home…and maybe I can sneak you guys to my home…but only if I can get free from all this as well."
Springtrap's smile softened as he saw she liked the idea too. Even if it was more of a dream. "I would like that…it will be a nice dream…" He breathed in deeply and looked away as he thought about it. "A dream that might stay just a dream."
She felt tears well in her eyes for a moment before she had an idea. "Well…how about I share some of my knowledge from the outside with you?" He turned his head slightly to side eye her curiously. "I could easily show you what houses look like. And the differences between them. I might even draw a diagram, of a basic home, that you could go off of. I imagine you only know a vague idea of what types of housing we live in."
Nightmare beamed at the idea. "I would love to see that!" He looked at Springtrap who seemed to be surprised by Saphira's offer. "Uh, but of course, it is something you want, so…" He jumped as there was a sudden ringing in the office. "What?" He turned in surprise and noticed it wasn't the actual phone ringing. "What's making that sound?!"
"The fax machine." Saphira was surprised and she walked over to a fax machine on the desk. It was still ringing and a document began to print. "Who still uses a fax machine? I didn't even know this was a fax machine, I thought it was a printer."
Springtrap growled a little. "And just when we were about to do something. I bet I can guess who sent it."
"I can guess too…I almost don't want to." Saphira had a hunch this was from Afton. He was watching after all. And he was able to send communications to her. Once the document was printed, Saphira sighed. "I guess I had better read it." She the paper and began to read it out loud.
'Congratulations, Saphira. You are playing the game well. You solved a piece of the puzzle today. Although, Fredbear helped you, there are many more pieces for you to find and put together. Well done. This has been very fun. I have no doubt you will find your next clues soon, and put another piece of the puzzle together.'
"Seriously?" Saphira, Springtrap and Nightmare look to the office door to see Freddy standing there with a frown. Bonnie and Chica were with him. "We were coming here to see how Saphira's elbow was, and we heard ringing down the hallway." Freddy shook his head in disbelief. "And it appears to be a direct message from Afton himself. And what does he mean by that? And Fredbear?"
"Um…" Saphira glanced at Springtrap as he glanced back at her. "I guess…we will have to tell you…though Fredbear…AAARRRGGHHH!" Saphira screamed and looked at her elbow as she felt a hard chomp on her elbow. She widened her eyes as she saw a Freddle. She didn't know where it came from, as the vent was closed. "Ouch! Get it off! Get it off!" She tried pushing it off, through the teeth dug deeper and Springtrap grabbed the Freddle. "Don't yank! The teeth are deep!"
Springtrap growled as he noticed. The teeth had bit through the bandage and he glared at the robot. "Ugh…clearly that congratulations came with some stupid condition!" He looked at the jaw and looked at Saphira. "Turn for a moment. We need to pull the jaws open."
"Why is this man intent on causing worse pain for this girl?" Nightmare asked as Saphira turned to face him. He raised his hands before looking at them. "Uh, maybe not me. My claws are too sharp." He looked at Freddy, Bonnie and Chica as they walked over with frowned. "You guys get it off, and I'll destroy it."
Freddy looked at the Freddle intently. "Hmm…keep a hold of its neck…" Springtrap nodded as he held the neck of the Freddle tightly, though the Freddle began to wave its arms. "Uh oh!" Bonnie grabbed the arms before they began scratching as Saphira's arm. "Alright, Chica…" He glanced at the yellow animatronic. "You and I can pull the jaw. Do you want to grab the bottom or top part of the jaw?"
"The bottom."
Freddy grabbed the top part of the Freddle's jaw while Chica grabbed the one underneath. It was a little awkward with the animatronics crowding close to Saphira, but she wanted this thing off. "Alright, Saphira…" Freddy looked at Saphira as he knew she would be worried. "We're going to count to three to get this off. It is probably going to hurt." She nodded as she understood and took a deep breath. "Ready, Chica?" She nodded. "One. Two. Three. Pull!"
Freddy and Chica pulled on the jaw, and it took a moment of a brief struggle before they forced the jaw open. Saphira let out a sigh of relief as she pulled away, and Springtrap threw the Freddle onto the ground. The Freddle hit the ground face first and it hissed, clanging its teeth angrily. Nightmare turned to destroy the Freddle only to pause as he sniffed the air. He could smell the scent of Saphira's blood, as Saphira now had to deal with a bite mark on her elbow. However, while he had managed to control himself before, it was harder to resist now.
Nightmare looked at Saphira. "That smells good." Springtrap looked away from Saphira and looked at him in surprise. He noticed the Freddle was crawling away and he narrowed his eyes at Nightmare. "Uh…um…this is awkward…" He rubbed his hands while Bonnie looked at him with a frown. "Could I, maybe, just have a lick?"
"What?" Saphira looked at Nightmare in shock and she noticed that he was giving her a weird look. "Wait…was he asking me that?"
Nightmare swallowed a little and sniffed the air some more. "Surely, just a lick…"
Chica hissed as she and Freddy lunge at Nightmare, pushing him back from Saphira roughly. "Are you kidding me, Nightmare?!" Chica snapped at him angrily. "You already had flesh and blood tonight! Why are you suddenly lusting after her blood?!"
"He's still young, Chica!" Bonnie looked at Saphira who was getting worried about the situation. "Get him out of here. He's not going to have a lot of self control. We're lucky that the blood before was small, and Springtrap had already cleaned it up."
Freddy and Chica pushed Nightmare to the office door while Springtrap walked over to the Freddle and punched it, destroying the head on impact. He growled as he watched Nightmare get pulled away while he was still staring at Saphira. He knew that look all too well. Nightmare's instincts was overwhelming him, and pressuring him to go after his prey. And Saphira's scent was hard enough to have self control, but once blood was spilled, it was harder to resist. Most of the animatronics were mature and had control, but the nightmares were still learning.
"Let's get this wound patched up." Bonnie unwrapped the previous bandage gently, grimacing at the swollen area around the elbow. "Ouch. Even I can see that hurts…and that bruise is pretty dark. I hope you have something for the pain, Saphira." He grabbed a new bandage from the first aid and began wrapping her elbow. "Sorry, Saphira. Nightmare is still young. They need to eat flesh and blood more often than us older animatronics, mostly because at this point our bodies aren't settling in this world from beyond whatever lab we were made in."
"It is fine." Saphira grimaced as even while Bonnie was wrapping her arm, it was still sore. "This has not been our night…what night has?"
Bonnie opened his mouth to respond, only to turn with a gasp as Nightmare was running back to the office. He managed to escape Freddy and Chica. He ran from Saphira, making her gasp as he almost pulled her with him, but Springtrap caught her before she fell. "Get back, Nightmare!" Bonnie lunged at Nightmare, pushing him into the wall and glaring at him. "Get yourself under control, Nightmare! You are not going to hurt Saphira! Do you understand?!"
Nightmare growled and hissed, sniffing the air again and looking over at Saphira as Springtrap stood in the way. "I just want a lick. I don't want to bite, I just want to lick…"
"We aren't idiots!" Freddy ran at Nightmare as he and Chica ran back. "You stupid, fool! Let's take you back to your room for some clean air!" Nightmare pushed him back suddenly, and Freddy punched his face, making Saphira shriek in surprise. "Stand down!"
I haven't seen how the animatronics deal with each other…I didn't realize that they were…like this.
Saphira could not help but feel afraid knowing that. Nightmare just hissed and he pushed against Bonnie, Freddy and Chica, almost pushing them over and he tried to lunge, making a jumping motion which made Saphira step back. She gasped as she fell onto her backside as she hit the corner of a bookshelf, with her heel caught underneath. She was lucky she didn't hit her elbow again. Springtrap glanced back at her briefly before he ran at Nightmare and grabbed him by the teeth and face plants him into the face, causing the animatronic to be dazed from the impact.
"Contain yourself, Nightmare!" Springtrap barked at him as Nightmare blinked in confusion and frowned. "Ugh! I forgot what it is like having young animatronics around. You all act like you're dying of thirst when you catch the smallest drop of blood…especially when it is sweet."
"Let's get you out of here." Freddy, Bonnie and Chica force Nightmare to his feed, and he seemed to realize what had happened. Freddy scoffed at him with a shake of his head. "Luckily you didn't hurt her. But there is always a next time until you control yourself."
Nightmare was in shock as he was led away from the office. He glanced through the window, spotting Saphira on the floor, looking at him with fear and worry. "I am…I am sorry…I…" Nightmare shook his head for a moment as he realized what he had done. "I almost lost control…"
Springtrap huffed in irritation, watching the animatronics drag Nightmare down the hallway. Once they left the hallway, he walked back into the office and softened his expression as soon as he saw Saphira. She looked at him and he could see she was nervous. He knelt down, looking at the bandage roll attached to the bandage strap hanging from Saphira's elbow. He sighed as he knew Bonnie had not meant to leave it the way it is, but he reacted quickly. He looked at Saphira as he heard her sniffling a little. He lifts his hand to her right cheek to wipe a tear that was rolling down her skin. And her green eyes looked at his silver eyes. And for a brief moment, they both stare. It was an intense stare, and Saphira actually felt herself hoping and butterflies in her stomach. But Springtrap smiled and looked at her bandage to wrap her elbow. It took her a moment to realize she was hoping for something else to happen. And she looked away with a blush forming on her cheeks.
Um…I think this is crazy. But I think I just had a moment thinking he was going to kiss me…cut it out! You are delusional, Saphira! You already promised to not let yourself be duped. But apparently, I am apparently playing the game right, despite having a Freddle bite me. Ugh…I wish I knew what this damn game was about!
