Saphira was feeling a bit impatient as she waited for the other employees to finish their shifts to leave the attraction. She really felt like she needed to do some investigating tonight, even if it meant biting the bullet, and finding what was underneath the stage. Saphira did think that it might not be as bad as she thinks it will be, so it might just be a point that was being shaken in her face to chase like a cat with a toy. But she knew not to believe that completely since this was a game Afton was playing. And now she had to be weary of Halloween, even though she had already guessed something was going to happen she just did not know what.

She swivelled the chair left and right as she waited impatiently for the employees to leave. She ignored a few that looked at her when they noticed she was wearing casual clothes instead of her uniform. Saphira tried to distract herself with music and her sketches, but it wasn't enough. She just waited impatiently for the employees to leave. It was just after ten-thirty and there was still a few employees around doing the last round of cleaning. They would not be too long, but it was long enough for Saphira to be annoyed.

When the employees finally left, Saphira got up from the chair abruptly and made her way to the dining room. She knew she was completely ignoring her very first task of checking the doors, but she didn't really care at the moment. Her mind was all over the place, and she wanted to see what exactly what she would be dealing with. She just hoped that the animatronics would not see the bruise on her face straight away. She didn't need those kinds of questions.

She opened the door into the room and she gasped as the neon lights were glowing orange instead of the darker blue and red that were normally lighting the room. She glanced around, noting the fake dead trees and jack-o-lantern scarecrows, jack-o-lanterns on the tables with black and orange party hats and so on. This really was something she had not expected at all, as she knew this was not the usual decorations used.

The original decorations were primarily spider webs, skeletons, undead creatures and even some gargoyles and stuff. Nothing like this. There weren't even jack-o-lanterns, I don't think.

"Saphira?" She flinched as she heard Bonnie's surprised voice as she looked around. "Are you okay? Shouldn't you be checking the doors? That is the first thing you should be doing. Or am I missing something?"

"It's fine, I'll do the doors shortly." Saphira kept looking around, while keeping her right side of her face deliberately hidden. "I just…well…pumpkins is not a theme that happens here. I am just surprised. Afton sent something to basically give another riddle about Halloween."

"Right, that is why you are acting this way." Freddy shook his head with a light chuckle. Saphira said nothing as she walked towards Fredbear's dining room to check too. "I suppose you were told about new animatronics, right?" Saphira glanced at him and shook her head. "Oh, well, there's been a buzz among the employees today. They were talking about new animatronics set to join the nightmare animatronics in the Bedroom of Nightmares. I am surprised, because I don't know what these animatronics will look like."

"I have a feeling they're based off the jack-o-lantern." She gestured to the man jack-o-lanterns around the room as she reached for the doorknob. "I know they must be the animatronics I saw in Afton's lab. They have to be. I know they were a Foxy, Bonnie and Chica, I am not sure what other animatronics they would be."

"I suppose you are right." Bonnie climbed off the stage and walked towards Saphira as she turned to open the door, it was then he realized something seemed off about Saphira. "But are you sure you are okay?"

"Yes, of course!" Saphira peered into the room to see Fredbear holding on of the jack-o-lantern scarecrows that were in his room, and he had a look of disgust on his face. "I see you aren't liking the decorations, Fredbear. Especially since I am used to much darker vibe here."

Fredbear sighed as he placed the scarecrow down. "I am more concerned by the new animatronics. These decorations are fine, but they're a symbol. A symbol Afton is using. I am not sure what these animatronics will be like…but I don't think it will be good."

"Isn't that what we thought of the nightmare animatronics? They turned out fine." Fredbear shook his head as he didn't believe that the nightmare animatronics were bad from the start. Saphira was a little bit surprised, but she did not pressure further. "I am not going to jump to conclusions about them, Fredbear."

"Your heart is always tries to find the goodness in us." Fredbear chuckled softly and turned his head slightly, noticing saw turning her head slightly as well to look, though she seemed nervous and he noticed immediately. "Okay…well it seems you are nervous about them. I guess I am not surprised." She shook her head, and stepped away, deliberately not turning enough so the others could see her face, though Fredbear swore he saw a glimpse of a bruise on her face. "Hold up…is that a bruise?"

Saphira shook her head as she walked to the door to cross the hallway to the Toy Plaza. "No, no bruise." She opened the door and she was relieved that no animatronic was standing in front, though as she stepped in the hallway, she looked to her left to see Springtrap walking down the hallway, and he was immediately surprised to see her. Though she saw his silver eyes glancing and frowning as he noticed the bruise as well. "I just want to see all the decorations. I feel like there are clues…"

"Don't take us for fools." Bonnie grabbed Saphira's arm firmly, making her yelp in surprise and looked at him in surprise, and the animatronic finally see the bruise around her right eye. Bonnie stared in shock, lifting his hand to gently touch, which made Saphira flinch away. "Saphira, why do you have a black eye? Did someone do this to you?"

Saphira shook her head and glanced at Springtrap as he walked up to her with a frown. "No, um…I walked into the door in the bedroom." The animatronics all did not act like they believed her, and she didn't blame him. Her tone was shaky, and she was clearly thinking on the spot. "I am being honest. I literally walked into a door."

"And you were trying to hide the bruise when you came into the dining room, Saphira," Bonnie argued with a stern expression. "If you had run into a door, you wouldn't be trying to hide it. You would only be doing that if someone had hit you." He wasn't wrong. Saphira sighed as she knew that they were not going to let it go. "You can tell us, Saphira. Who hurt you?"

Saphira shook her head. "It doesn't matter. It happened outside the pizzeria there is no way you can deal with that person." Saphira shrugged and smiled a little. "Come on, let me go so I can start my round of checking the doors." Bonnie tilts his head as he didn't believe her. "Come on, Bonnie. I really will check the doors. If it really makes you feel better, one of you guys can come along. I guess I can't really complain about having company."

Springtrap was less likely to allow Saphira go without her admitting to who hurt her. She's already having to deal with the previous injuries, and she now had another one. "I will go with you." Saphira just smiled at him and began to wall around him. "I see you are choosing a different pattern tonight, but you should still tell us who hurt you."

"What's the point?" Saphira looked down at the ground, ignoring the footsteps of the animatronics behind her. She was surprised they were all following her. "Okay, fine…I decided to do some shopping earlier. And I ran into someone who I knew. But…they were a bully…and they had not grown up. And it resulted in them hitting across the face."

"But why?" Springtrap's frown deepened as he was troubled by that. "You are also acting strange. I can sense your nervousness, Saphira. I know for a fact it has nothing to do with these new decorations or the new animatronics. Something was said to you. Not just the strike. I want you to know that if it is something that I can do to help, I will do it."

Saphira knew that he would. But she didn't know how. "Sorry, Springtrap, but it really is not something you need to worry about. I am nervous because of another riddle Afton sent me, not because of the incident earlier." Springtrap did not seem to believe her, but he said nothing regarding that. "And now…well…" Saphira looked ahead at the Haunted Classroom before turning to walk towards the Chapel. "I know I didn't want to, but I now want to open that hidden space beneath the stage. The curiosity is really starting to get to me."

"Seriously?" Fredbear stomped around Saphira quickly, making her stop nervously as he stood in front of her with a frown. "I think that would be a bad idea, if this desire was prompted by Afton. Playing into his hand isn't something that we should do, Saphira, and you already know it. I am surprised you have allowed yourself to be manipulated quickly by him. I still think this has to do with that bruise on your face, not Afton."

Saphira didn't want to admit that it was as she knew that make them more on edge when it came to trespassers. "I guess you are right…but…even so, those doors will get opened at some point, Fredbear. It's inevitable. So I guess…I don't want to just sit around and not know what is hiding there. I suppose I am just paranoid because Afton is manipulative."

"Which means he's using that paranoia to get what he wants." Fredbear rubbed the bridge between his eyes in disbelief as he listened to her. "Saphira, I know that you are afraid, and I understand you are trying to beat Afton at his own game to a point. But we know that by doing things like that, you are also doing what he wants. Maybe you are afraid of being attacked by the Freddles again, so I understand. But…"

"You can't tell me not to do it if I believe it has to be done, Fredbear. I feel like we will also be better prepared if we know what is beneath that stage," Saphira said slowly as she interrupted him. "I just…" Saphira paused as she thought on how to say what she needed to say. "I just want to know. I don't want to be in the dark, and while I get what you are saying and it is true, Fredbear…I just want to…want to know what we are getting at. Afton has been extremely vague about what he wants from me, and maybe we can figure out more when we open it."

Fredbear sighed as he understood Saphira's reasoning, but he didn't believe it was necessary. "Or it just leads to more issues, Saphira. I get what you are trying to say, and if I understood the circumstances as to why you are acting nervous this way, I would support it. But I think we should skip it for another night."

Saphira sighed deeply as she had nothing more to say to Fredbear, and there was no way she could argue with him anyway. She decided to let it go for now. She might try again a bit later. "I guess you are right…I...I wasn't really thinking it through. I am sorry that I am worrying everyone." She smiled at Fredbear and walked around him. "I'm going to the Love Chapel now, so if you want to keep talking to me, you can."

Fredbear simply watched her quietly as he thought on what she had said. He didn't believe her, but he also wasn't going to pressure her. "Very well. But you should never be afraid to tell us what is on your mind." He glanced at Springtrap as the animatronic would follow her. "I know you trust Springtrap completely, so I hope you will feel the same about the rest of us too."

Saphira did not respond as he knew that she trusted Springtrap deeply. And she knew that Springtrap will try to get the story out of her. She didn't know how he was going to react though. "I do…but…" She looked at Springtrap for a moment before she blushed and looked away him. "The bond we have is a bit different."

Fredbear smirked a little and glanced at Springtrap, making the animatronic roll his eyes at the teasing expression that he could see on Fredbear's face. "We are aware of that." Fredbear stopped as he decided to allow Saphira and Springtrap walk away. "Hopefully you won't find a random person hiding in the bar again. That would be quite annoying and quite the coincidence as well."

"I doubt it, but we will certainly keep it in mind," Saphira said before reaching her hand out and grabbing Springtrap's hand. Springtrap glanced down as he felt her fingers slide between his, and he also noticed she was trembling. She was clearly still very nervous. "Come on, Springtrap. I could really use the company."

Springtrap did not say anything as he could tell she needed him. Bonnie and Freddy did not follow either as they knew Springtrap would be able to get the truth out of her. But Springtrap did not know what kind of truth that she would tell. The way she was acting made him want to protect her. He wanted to hold her, keeping his arms around her to protect her and comfort her. Springtrap doubted the person who hurt her would be here tonight, but she was clearly shaken.

At first, Saphira and Springtrap say nothing as they walk to the Chapel. It really did feel like a sense of déjà vu since they were here alone before, and there was a lone trespasser in the bar. Saphira doubted there would someone there, but she wanted Springtrap with her regardless. He made her feel safe and comforted, so Saphira wanted him with her just for that reason.

"Why did you try to hide the fact that someone hit you by the way?" Springtrap asked curiously, making her flinch a little and look at him in surprise. "There was no reason, unless you had something to hide. And I know that you clearly wanted to hide it. I just don't know why. Contrary to what Fredbear said, I don't know if this even remotely close to do with Afton."

Saphira looked away from him as they walk through the hallway. She didn't really know what to say to that. "Well…I guess…because you guys are stuck here, I didn't want to tell you because I know you can't leave to help me. So I made a stupid lie, I guess." She shrugged a little, knowing that Springtrap may or not believe her. "And…Fredbear is right. What happened to be me potentially has a connection to Afton. And, if my hunch is right, this person has been working for Afton since I was a kid."

Springtrap frowned as he did not know what that meant. "Strange…it almost sounds like you are talking about the bullies you had." She didn't react as she reached for the door into the chapel. "Don't tell me I'm right." Again no reaction. "I must be, if you aren't even going to tell me, Saphira." She just remained silent and Springtrap frowned. "Let me guess…Hayley." She turned her head slightly to look at him, though she quickly looked ahead and stepped through the door. "That girl had one of the biggest impacts on you when you were a child, Saphira. And you suspected it was her you saw in the lockers. I am right, aren't I? You would not have looked at me if it was not her."

Saphira grits her teeth as she thought on how she was going to respond to him. She didn't want to admit it, but she could tell he knew that he was right. "So what if it was her, Springtrap? You can't exactly walk out of this building and stalk through the city to find her. Even if you could, you would be spotted. Even at this time of night."

"That isn't the point. Clearly, she got to you. And I am not talking about that bruise." Saphira rolled her eyes, and Springtrap widened his eyes when he felt Saphira try to pull her hand away from his. He firmly grabbed her wrist, making her gasp in surprise as he forced her to turn to face him. "And now you are saying she is connected to Afton. Is that true?"

Saphira sighed. "Well…I'm not a hundred percent sure. But I think she is. She's said some things that made me think of that. But…I am sorry, Springtrap. There isn't really anything I can tell you. Besides, she is my problem…I can handle her."

"And yet, I have a feeling she prompted you to open the door beneath the stage. And you also had a nightmare, though I do not know the details of that nightmare." Springtrap thought more about it, and Saphira tried to pull away to keep walking. "Saphira, even if you think this is something you have to deal on your own, Hayley has already been here, right?" Saphira nodded. "And if she has been working with Afton, she probably knows a lot about us. And the fact is, Hayley knew how to hide from us. It makes me think that was not the first time she was hiding here."

"You're right. She admitted to me she has been using the lockers to hide for years." Springtrap wasn't expecting that. "I am not sure if she was even being honest with me, but you have a point. She was hiding good the time I found her. Now that you are aware, she might not come back. Except…" Saphira paused as she realized she was saying too much. "Anyway…she does know about you and the others being alive, Springtrap. She also knows…uh, little too much about our friendship. At least, I think."

"She mocked you for it again, didn't she?" Saphira shrugged and tried to pull away, though Springtrap tightened his grip, and she let out a whimper. "Saphira, you need to trust me. I care so deeply about you. You know this. Please, let me know."

Saphira's eyes fill with tears and she looked at her arm. "You're hurting me, Springtrap…"

Springtrap looked at her arm and let's her go in surprise. "Sorry, I didn't realize." Saphira turned and walked away quickly. He stared after her, not knowing what to think as he honestly didn't understand. "Saphira…" He followed her quickly to catch up to her. "Even if she did not mock you, you need to tell me what she said. Clearly, you've found out something about her, and maybe she's going to come here to attack you." Saphira tensed a little, though she said nothing. "If she does, she will regret touching you."

Saphira placed her hands on her arms nervously. Springtrap has worked it out, and she had to confirm it. She let tears fall from her eyes. "Okay, fine. I'll tell you why I am acting like this. Not only did Afton tell me about the new animatronics coming this weekend, and they're apparently more aggressive than the Nightmares…Hayley found me while I was in a shop. And she came up to me, and spoke differently." Springtrap listened intently without interrupting her. "Almost like Afton. She told me she knows how to get in here without you guys knowing. She's done it a lot. So she knows you guys are alive, and need to eat humans to live."

Springtrap was very surprised that Saphira learned that Hayley has been in the building more than once, and without them knowing. "Hmm…well that might come to an end now that we know. She isn't the brightest it would seem." Saphira didn't want to say that she disagreed, as she knew that Hayley was smart. She just happened to act entitled. "Was there anything else that she said?"

"She made a strange comment about you and I." Springtrap tilts his head slightly out of curiosity. "I don't really think it matters though. We are just friends."

Springtrap's ears droop slightly as he really disliked that. "Friends…yeah…" Saphira could hear the pain in his voice, and she did not notice that he stopped as she kept walking down the hallway to the bar. "That's all you want to be."

Saphira did not know how to respond. She could tell he was still hurt by what she has chosen to do. Saphira really wanted to say otherwise, but she couldn't. "And we are the best friends, Springtrap. And you are right…we can leave the stage for tonight. I think having a bad reaction to something like what I have experienced, is not good to react to rashly. So I think we can do something else tonight." She did not hear his response, though she did not look back either. "Now that I think about it, maybe you can help me pick out decorations for my room."

Springtrap sighed as he could hear Saphira speaking. But he did not respond to her. Springtrap did not know how he could convince Saphira to open her heart. He knew that she loved him, her actions scream love when she is around him. He wanted to take her into his arms and kiss her, and let her know how much he loved her. And now there was someone who could really hurt Saphira that they needed to worry about. He really did not like it at all.

Saphira hummed as she finished checking the door and turned around, finally realizing that Springtrap was not with her. "Springtrap?" She looked around with a frown and walked over to the hallway to see him standing with his shoulders slumped and his eyes looking at the ground with a sad expression. Saphira immediately felt sad and guilty because she knew she had unintentionally hurt him. "Springtrap…" She walked over to him and reached for his hands. "Springtrap, it's okay. I will…" She flinched in surprise when he moved his hands to stop her from grabbing them. "What are you doing?"

"We're friends." She looked at his eyes in surprise and he turned his head with a frown. "Remember?"

She frowned a little as she realized what he was doing. "Don't be like this, Springtrap. Come on, I care deeply about you…"

"I know." Springtrap looked at her again and clenched his eyes shut. "Saphira, do you even realize what kind of spark you bring to my life?" Saphira frowned as she already knew how she made him feel. "If someone is threatening to take that away from me…" He opened his eyes with a deep frown, a meaningful frown that Saphira had not seen on his face before. He stepped forward, making her step back uncertainly as she did not know what he was thinking. "If someone took you from me, they might ignite something very dangerous into this world. Because all I'll want to do is find vengeance for you." Saphira was not surprised as she certainly believed that he would do that. She moved to get around him, though she stopped her as he pressed her back against the wall, making her more nervous. "That is how much you mean to me, Saphira. I know that when you were just a child, we only had a simple love. One of friendship, and it was amazing. And now, after learning your past and relearning about you again, I haven't felt this deeply about someone before. Not in my existence. I can't explain why, but it just happened."

Saphira felt fluttering in her stomach as she stared at him. She felt the pain knowing she couldn't allow this to happen, even though Springtrap was essentially pleading with her. "Springtrap…I am not sure if those feelings are…"

"They are real!" Springtrap interrupts gently as his expression softens and his ears droop slightly to side. "Saphira, I know you feel the same." She looked down at the ground immediately so she didn't have to look at him. "You care for me, that I understand. But I know it is deeper. I have seen the way you look at, I have felt how you hold my hand and heard how you speak, and I have seen how you react around me. Why don't you admit it, Saphira? You have deeper feelings for me. I know you do."

Saphira trembled as her heart raced in her chest. She could hear his frustration and she understood. She really didn't want to admit to it, and yet she wanted to. She looked up at Springtrap as tears fall from her eyes. "I'm…I'm afraid, Springtrap."

Springtrap stared at her eyes, and he could see the fear in her eyes. But he knew that fear was not of him. "What are you afraid of, Saphira? Do you honestly think this is part of Afton's game?" She nodded and looked away from him. "So what if it is? Wouldn't you rather let yourself embrace those feelings instead of running from them?"

Saphira did not know what to say. She really didn't. She glanced up again, only to gasp in surprise when she realized that he had inched his face closer, and his lips were dangerously close to hers right now. She felt herself blushing as it was unexpected. "Springtrap…"

"I am not sure what Afton really wants, but I don't care. All I know is that I love you, Saphira." He felt her tense more as he told her how he felt. "I don't want us to keep trying to stay friends because of some monster. It is only hurting the both of us. I just want you to be happy."

Saphira really did not know how to respond. She really wanted to shout and scream that she loved him. But she was too afraid. She stared at his lips, feeling the deep yearning to just lean forward to kiss him. Her body felt like it was compelling her to do it. But with everything else that has happened, it felt like it has all compounded onto her fear. And she wanted him to stop hurting, but she didn't know how to respond.

She felt her chest tightening as she felt an anxiety attack coming on. She shook her head and pushed on Springtrap's shoulders to push him away. "I need air…" Springtrap stepped back sadly, though he quickly noticed the sound of her gasping as she began to run from him. "I need to get fresh air."

Springtrap was immediately concerned about her and ran over to her. "Let me help you." She shook her head and moved her body away from him when he tried to grab her arms. "You need to sit down, you're having an anxiety attack, I think."

Saphira knew that. She didn't respond to him as she knew that the main first aid office would likely have what she needed. She needed a moment to calm down, but she also wanted to get out of the building. She felt the need to just go for a walk. Maybe that would calm her down. She knew what she had to do in order to do that. And she would have to ignore the other animatronics to do it as well.

When she walked through the main dining room, Springtrap tried to make her go to the first aid office. But she just kept walking. She completely ignored all the animatronics as she walked towards the office. They didn't try to stop her, as they assumed she knew what she needed to do. And for a moment, they did not try to follow her. And that was all the time Saphira needed to make sure she had a key to get back inside.

Once she knew she could get back in, Saphira walked to the back door and opened it. The loud creak from the door would immediately alert the animatronics, as she heard the hallway door slam open. "Saphira! Wait!" She flinched hearing Springtrap's worried shouting. "Where are going?" Saphira closed the door behind her, and she just heard the last of his words. "I'm sorry…"

Saphira stepped back from the door and turned to walk away, folding her arms as she took deep breaths to control her breathing and her heartbeat. The fresh, cool air made her shiver and cover her skin in goosebumps. But it was what she wanted. Though as there was an overcast tonight, she hoped that the darkness of the clouds would shroud her from eyes of others as she intended to just walk around the block. And as she started to control her breathing, the tears just kept on falling.
