Chapter 20: Beginning of the battle for Yavin.
It didn't take long for all the rebel ships to exit Yavins system and head into space as they all started to make their approach to the Death Star.
The Red leader is seen lowering his visor and then manages to adjust his gun sights, looking to each side at his wing men before he manages to speak.
Red Leader: All wings report in!
He announced.
Red Ten: Red Ten standing by.
Red Seven: Red Seven standing by.
Biggs: Red Three standing by.
Porkins: Red Six standing by.
Red Nine: Red Nine standing by.
Wedge: Red Two standing by.
Red Eleven: Red Eleven standing by.
Luke: Red Five standing by.
Scrooge: Red Twelve standing by.
Donald: Red Thirteen standing by.
Della: Red Fourteen standing by.
They said in response to the Red Leader.
Red Leader: Lock S-foils in attack position.
He commanded as the X wing fighters moved in formation toward the Death Star by unfolding the wings and locking them in the X position as the rebel ships continued to move close to the Death Star as the ships quickly passed the Magnetic field.
Red Leader: We're passing through their magnetic field. Hold tight!
He announced.
Scrooge: Get ready lads because this is gonna be a tough ride.
Inside his ship Luke manages to adjust his controls as he tries to focus on the Death Star up ahead.
Donald: I'm really starting to get more nervous now! What's the next move?
He asked.
Della: It seems like we are getting close, Red Leader.
Red Leader Switch your deflectors on. Double front!
He announced to his fellow rebel fleets.
The fighters then started to move in their formation as they were closing into the Death Star rapidly and it was also starting to grow much bigger as the rebel fighters approached it.
Wedge: Look at the size of that thing!
He said surprised.
Della: I was thinking the exact same thing.
Red Leader: Cut the chatter, Red Two and Red Fourteen. Accelerate to attack speed. This is it, boys and girls!
He said as the rebel fleets now managed to close onto the giant size of the Death Star as they set forward to begin their attack.
Gold Leader: Red Leader, this is Gold Leader.
Red Leader: I copy, Gold Leader.
Gold Leader: We're starting for the target shaft now.
He said as the Red Leader took a moment to look at the ships aside before taking a moment to look at his targeting device before he managed to speak.
Red Leader: We're in position. I'm going to cut across the axis and try to draw their fire.
He said as the X wing ships started to dive down towards the Death Star surface.
Launchpad: It looks like you guys are splitting up.
Scrooge: Yes, it seems like we are LP.
Daisy: Seems like we are gonna be with the Y wings for now.
Penumbra: You guys be careful.
Della: We will do our best.
Beakley: It seems like we will also be in assistance if necessary.
Donald: That sounds great, let's do this.
Donald said as he, Della, and Scrooge quickly joined the rest of the X wing pilots.
The X wing Pilots were then quickly met with heavy laser fire with the rebel fleets trying everything they could to avoid getting hit.
Scrooge: Alright here we go cause it's now gonna get intense.
Della: It seems like they know we are already here.
Back inside the Massassi Outpost's war room, Leia with every non pilot member listen to the battle over the intercom with the kids and 3PO aside her as all they could do was listen in horror and concern with what was currently going on in the battle.
Wedge: Heavy fire, boss! Twenty degrees.
Donald: We need another plan and fast!
Red Leader: I see it. Stay low!
He told his fellow X wing Pilots as they quickly did just that avoiding being struck by the oncoming laser beams.
Luke: This is Red Five. I'm going in!
Scrooge: Alright we are right behind you, lad.
He said as Luke's X wing is quickly followed by Scrooge's, Della's, and Donald's as they quickly race towards the Death Star as Laser Beams continue to fire at them.
Della: We need to do something about the oncoming lasers because we are just sitting ducks right now.
Luke: Let's try to fire back then.
Luke said as he fired his own lasers at the enemies which created a huge fireball which was coming towards them.
Donald: That does not look good.
Della: Looks like we have to pull up now!
Della said as she Scrooge and Donald quickly pulled up but Luke stayed put for a moment.
Biggs: Luke, pull up!
He urged Luke as he quickly did just that to barely avoid the oncoming blaze.
Scrooge: That was a close one lad.
Biggs: Are you alright?
He asked Luke.
Luke: I got a little cooked, but I'm okay.
Donald: Looks like we might need to come up with another plan.
He said as the rebel ships continued to fly around the Death Star with laser beams still firing at them.
Inside the Death Star the walls and the rooms are completely shaking like an earthquake as the rebel fleets are firing back at all the StormTroopers that are currently trying to shoot them down. Vader is currently seen walking with Lunaris to gain access to their ships as well with an Astro Officer approaching them.
Officer: We count at least nearly forty Rebel ships, Lord Vader. But they're so small they're managing to evade our turbo lasers!
He told them.
Lunaris: Well they really think they could get off that easy well they are gonna have another thing coming.
Vader: It seems we'll have to destroy them ship to ship. Get the crews to their fighters.
Lunaris: I'm also thinking that Della and her family are on this as well. You and your crew can go after the other rebel ships but the Mcduck gang are mine, Lord Vader.
Vader: Then you go have at it then Lunaris.
Lunaris: Yes Lord Vader.
He said as they both continue to get to their ships to enter the battle as well.
Back outside the Death Star the Rebel fleet is still seen trying to avoid all of the laser fire or they are firing their own laser missiles back in an attempt to slow down their firing as they quickly work to come up with another plan.
Red Leader: Luke, let me know when you're going in.
He told Luke as he quickly flew by Luke's X wing Ship.
Luke: I'm on my way in now!
Luke said in response to the Red Leader as he quickly dived his X wing down for another attempted attack.
Red Leader: Watch yourself! There's a lot of fire coming from the right side of that deflection tower.
Luke: I'm on it.
Scrooge: Don't worry Lad. We're right behind you.
Scrooge said as He, Luke, Donald, and Della flew their X wings across the Death Stars horizon and quickly right down to the station's surface.
Shots are quickly fired from their guns aimed at the on coming shots coming from the space station which quickly resulted in most of the Empire emplacements to get destroyed.
Biggs then manages to quickly dive into more of the Empire's firing systems before managing to fire at the station's surface causing that area to quickly get destroyed as well making it seem like this battle was starting to go into the Rebels favor.
However inside the station Imperial star pilots quickly made their way to their Tie fighter ships so they could start getting some of their ships into the fight and better handle the current ongoing situation.
Back inside the Massassi Outpost's war room, Leia is seen walking around feeling extremely nervous about the ongoing battle along with her fellow generals and aides. The Duck kids are still sitting down also feeling extremely nervous as well and still feeling worried about their loved ones. The Rebel technicians are seen working diligently on the lighted glass wallsDodonna watches the fight feeling extremely quiet about the whole intensity. One of the officers seen working over the war screen speaks into his headset giving the Rebel fleets a heads up.
Control Officer: Squad leaders, we've picked up a new group of signals. Enemy fighters coming your way.
He warned the crew.
Donald: That's not possible. My scope is currently clear.
Luke: My scopes are negative. I don't see anything.
Daisy: If that's the case then we should be ready for what is coming.
Beakley: We should probably remain vigilant because it seems like they have something up their sleeve.
Red Leader tries to search for any possible Imperial fighters before he speaks.
Red Leader: Keep up your visual scanning. With all this jamming, they'll be on top of you before your scope can pick up.
Scrooge: It's best that we all remain smarter than these blasted scopes ladies and gentlemen.
Not too far away some Imperial Tie fighters are seen exiting the Death Star and begin to enter into the battle.
Biggs then manages to notice the Tie fighters presence first which was right behind him as he tries his best to shake it off.
Red Leader: Biggs! You've picked one up.. watch it.
The Red Leader warned him.
Biggs: I can't see it! Where is he?
He said, panicked as the Tie fighter started to shoot at him.
Biggs: He's on me tight, I can't shake him.. I can't shake him.
Biggs said as Luke quickly flew towards his direction.
Luke: Hang on, Biggs, I'm coming in.
Luke said as he quickly closed in on the Tie fighter before destroying it to save Biggs.
Luke: Got him!
Biggs: Thanks, Luke. I owe you big time.
Luke: Let's save the thank yous for later.
Donald then noticed a tie fighter was on his tail as well.
Donald: Shoot! I got one on my tail as well.
Donald said as he tried to shake it off but to no avail as the Tie fighter started to fire at him.
Donald: Crap its shooting at me as well! I need help! And fast cause I can't see it.
Daisy: I'm trying but I can't get there in time.
Daisy said as she tried to help his boyfriend but was a little too far from her reach.
Della: Don't worry Donnie I got you!
Della said as she quickly destroyed the Tie fighter that was after Donald.
Donald: Thanks sis!
Daisy: Yeah, thank you as well Della.
Della: Well like Luke said lets focus on completing the mission.
Back in the Death Star Vader and Lunairis enter the Death Star corridor and quickly run into a group of Imperial Troopers trying to enter the fight as well.
Vader: Several fighters have broken off from the main group. Come with me!
He told one group.
Lunaris: And the rest of you are with me!
He told the other group as they also prepared to go into the battle and take out the rebel fleet.
