CHAPTER ONE
KONOHA
The village of Konohagakure was bustling with activity as the sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm, golden glow over the leafy canopy. Fifteen-year-old Chance approached the opened entrance gate. He had heard tales of Konoha, the hidden village where ninjas lived, and now, here he was. His destination was the Hokage Residence, where he had been told to find Naruto Uzumaki, the current leader of Konoha. As he made his way through the bustling streets, he couldn't help but feel the weight of the scroll in his pocket. It held the answers he sought, but he knew that revealing its contents to Naruto would not be an easy task. Finally, he arrived at the familiar landmark. The Hokage's office was already open for business, and the young boy, Chance, hesitantly approached the receptionist. "Um, I'm here to see the Lord Seventh. I was told to give him this letter," he said, handing over the scroll. The receptionist took it with a puzzled expression and disappeared into the inner sanctum. A few moments later, she emerged and motioned for him to follow. Stepping inside the office, Chance ound himself face-to-face with Naruto Uzumaki. The man's spiky blond hair and bright orange attire made quite the impression on the dark-skinned boy. "So, you must be Chance," Naruto said, offering his hand for a shake. As they shook, Chance couldn't help but notice the odd glances they received from those around them. He knew that this meeting was about to change his life, but he had no idea just how much. Naruto motioned for Chance to sit down at the conference table. "I've read your letter," he began, "and I'm interested in hearing more about your story. Why don't you start by telling me where you're from and how you came to be here in Konoha?" Chance took a deep breath and began to explain. He told Naruto about his Earth, where shinobi like him and Naruto were nothing more than fictional characters from a long-gone era. He explained how, through a series of events he couldn't quite comprehend himself, he had been transported to this Earth, where shinobi were real and revered. As Chance spoke, Naruto listened intently, his expression a mix of fascination and disbelief. "So, you're saying that on your Earth, the idea of shinobi never existed?" he asked. Chance nodded. "Yes, sir. It's as if they were replaced by ninjas, who are just regular people with some skills. They're nothing like the shinobi we know and respect here." The Hokage leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers as he considered this new information. "This is quite the revelation," he mused. "It's almost like your world and ours are reflections of each other, but with a twist. In your world, shinobi are fictional, while here, they're real. It's fascinating to think about." Chance felt a sense of relief wash over him as he saw that Naruto was taking his story seriously. "Yes, sir. It's been quite a shock for me, too. I've been trying to find my place here, but I'm not sure where I belong." Naruto studied Chance for a moment before speaking. "You know, there's a saying here in Konoha: 'A shinobi is not born, they are made.' It doesn't matter where you come from, or what your background is. What matters is what you do with your life and how you choose to serve your village." The Hokage smiled reassuringly. "If you're serious about becoming a shinobi, I'll do everything in my power to help you." At that moment, the door to the office swung open, and in walked a young man with black hair and a goatee wearing a cream-colored coat and black pants. "Ah, Shikamaru!" Naruto exclaimed, seemingly pleased to see his friend. "I was just telling Chance here about our way of life. He's interested in becoming a shinobi himself." Shikamaru turned to Chance with a polite nod. "Thank you so much for what you've done. It means a lot to us." Chance felt a bit embarrassed by the gratitude, but he couldn't help but smile in return. "It was nothing, really. I'm just glad I could help." Shikamaru studied Chance for a moment before continuing. "I'm sure Lord Seventh has already explained this to you, but there's a long and arduous training process ahead of you if you want to become a shinobi. You'll have to learn the ways of ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu, as well as hone your senses and develop your chakra control." He paused, looking Chance in the eye. "Are you prepared for that challenge?" Chance took a deep breath, feeling a surge of determination welling up inside him. "Yes, sir," he replied. "I'm willing to put in the work. I want to be a part of this world, and I want to serve Konoha with all my heart." The three of them shared a moment of silence, each lost in their own thoughts about the path that lay ahead. Finally, Naruto broke the silence. "Alright then, Chance. If you're serious about becoming a shinobi, I'll make the arrangements for you to begin your training immediately." A smile crept across his face. "Welcome to Konoha."
