Chapter Four
The group took a moment to rest in one of the blue rooms, whenever one of them need it to go to the restroom they just took turns of guarding each other in another room and then they regroup together in the room that had everyone else, in a few hours they learned how to calculate when the rooms were going to be move based on the sounds of the outside engine and they learned to calculate that the rooms changed around every two hours.
Holloway was feeling exhausted and the rations of food they found were less and less over the time they were exploring. They sat down all together and tried to get to know each other, they knew the key of their success was to work as a group. They need a leader and Quentin decided to appoint himself as the one.
Alderson questioned him why? He replied he was a cop, a Lieutenant and had experience dealing with tense situations while being in the force and that he was familiar with Rennes as being a famous escapist. Rennes explained that more than a criminal he got hired by several organizations to find vulnerable points in their networks and that was probably why he ended up in the Cube prison, but he couldn't remember who hired him to be inside.
Worth was 34 years old, he had his memories somewhat intact, he also confessed he was one of the architects who worked in the preliminary design and it was for the United States Government as a form of prison for dissidents, Quentin didn't reacted properly and went to attack Worth but was stopped by Alderson before he could reach him.
"Hold on bubba, I don't know anything about the inside, the firm I had was contracted to work in the outer shelf and I can say it's titanium and an alloy I can recall, there are are a total of 5,264 cubes and that's what he remembered and everything else was just foggy" He said with a sad grim "we are probably here because we did something to piss the armed forces, so we have to think what we did"
"How can we think? When we are blank on who we are" Said Holloway. "I only remember I was a doctor or at least related to the health sciences, my memory hurts a lot when I try to think too much" She said.
The group was panicking because they never imagined being trapped in such a restrictive environment, yet they needed it to find an option to escape. "Is such a cruel world we live in?" Said Leaven while sitting next to Kazan and wondering how a society can be so cruel to throw someone as Kazan inside the contraction of the Cube.
Over the years the world changed, it became such a difficult place to be in after the red wave win back in 2016 it turned the world upside down because it gave a voice to the hate that was being held for decades everywhere and now it was OK to discriminate and mimic what the leaders did to any minority.
Everything that people knew was changed and anyone who was considered an enemy of the State would be punished or just taken away. Around the world there were different cubes and other ways the government kept the population under control.
Everyone fears the idea of going against the government because of the mass power they had on each different country, only the elite or the employees of the government who were truthful to the regime were allowed to live and be free. The unlucky ones had their life taken to the different games where they were executed or reprogrammed to be better members of society if they survived any of the games.
The group kept walking over without knowing if they were walking in circles until Leaven decided to pull a button from her uniform and leave a mark every room they where to avoid any repetition and see if the room was safe or not.
