"Okay, so it says here that page 375 has sone more of those fill-in-the-blank kind of answers." Marinette sighed in exasperation and slumped further down in her seat. Why, of all things dod it have to be those damn fill in the blank questions!
The dark-haired half chines girl banged her head on the tabletop a few times before cursing under her breath and hastily turning to a different page of her biology textbook.
"Ugh! Tikki! For the love of kwami! Give me my pencil back!" Marinette cried out in annoyance as she once again chased after her goggling kwami.
From beside her, Luka just watched the scene in front of him with an amused look forming on his face.
"Tikki, give the little mouse her pencil back." The snake-themed superhero sighed and rolled his jade-green eyes in fond exasperation. "She needs it to write her notes down for her up-coming Biology test."
The little ladybug kwami paused for a moment and turned to face the blue-haired guitarist with a small pout forming on her tiny little face.
"But you two have been at this for hours! You need to take a break and stretch a little bit. Go for a run over some rooftops or something!" Fikki sighed loudly and waved hef tiny paws up in the air while rolling her eyes at the two stubbern teens in front of her.
"But Tikki-" The French-Asian blue-haired girl tried to protest but Tikki was not having any of it.
"Just take a five minute break at least, that's all I ask of you!" Multimouse snorted at that and rolled her eyes in exasperation.
A few moments of silence passed over the three of them before Luka stood to his feet and cleared his throat to begin speaking.
"Ok ok sheesh! Chill out Tikki, we'll take a quick break and finish the rest of our note-taking tomorrow after school." The older blue-haired teenager replied before calling upon Sass.
"Mullo, get squeaky!" Marinette called on the transformation words that would turn her into Multimouse.
Sending him a teasing smile, Multimouse looked up into his green eyes. "Hi! I'm Multimouse!" Her smile grew wider as she appraised him. "And I'm a little nervous to be paired with a snake!"
The look she sent him had him wondering which one of them should truly be afraid, but he just offered her an easy smile. "Ladybug said that we didn't have any set route, just a general area to run through. Did you want to start anywhere in particular?"
Multimouse's tail twitched, and a wicked grin spread over her face. "Want to start at the Montparnasse Tower?" When Viperion nodded, she was off, before throwing back over her shoulder, "race you there!"
She was leaping off the next rooftop over when Viperion's laughter rolled over her, and she heard him land of the roof she'd just vacated. His much longer stride helped him keep up with her, so while he was closing the gap, it was painstakingly slowly.
Her breathless giggles traveled back to him on the wind, and he almost stumbled at the familiar ache it caused in him, but seeing her pink cheeks, flushed with happiness and exertion, and the wide smile she gave him as he landed behind her, only a few seconds slower to reach their destination, he knew that her happiness was worth more than anything.
Luka was pretty sure that an akuma could walk right up to him and he probably wouldn't notice. He's being a terrible superhero, he knew, paying more attention to the girl by his side, especially since she keeps flirting with him, but at that moment, he didn't care, and he knew that Ladybug wouldn't object, either.
