It happened suddenly and without cause or explanation.
Zero and Akai woke up first…only to see that they were handcuffed together, a long chain between them.
"Oh great… just great," Zero grumbles, irritated by the situation they're stuck in.
Akai just surveys the surroundings… They're in a white room with seemingly no way out. Then he notices that there is another chain connecting them.
He tugs on it, "Looks like there's someone else here."
Akai gets up and starts following the chain as Zero reluctantly follows behind as there seemed to be nowhere else to go.
At the end of the chain, they find… Kaitou KID.
Unlike them, who had regular handcuffs, KID had leather handcuffs around his wrists, which can't be picked.
"Ah…" KID finally notices them, and sheepishly asks, "A little help here?"
They blink in shock before walking over to him.
"Please help me get my lockpicks? They're in my jacket," KID politely asks.
The two then get into a small argument, which prompts KID to yell, "Will you two please not kill each other with me in the middle?!"
Zero grumbles as he did most of the arguing, but stops. Akai just nods.
Being the only two adults here, KID makes them listen to him…at least until they get out of this situation.
As they pat at KID's jacket…
"Careful! I'd rather you not set anything off right now," KID warns.
"By that you mean…" Akai asks.
"Smoke bombs, sleeping gas, and flashbangs," KID smiles innocently.
The two sweat-drop as they carefully retrieve the lockpicks.
KID picks their handcuffs, successfully freeing them, but…
"Where's the key to your handcuffs?" Akai asks.
"..." KID sheepishly gestures to the other corner of the room, "Over there."
There's a key in a bowl of tiny fish.
"...and you can't get them yourself?" Zero asks.
"No. I can't," KID sighs, trying not to look at it.
Seeing KID visibly uncomfortable with the fish, it's not hard to imagine what his weakness is.
"...don't you dare mention this to the little detective," KID growls.
"...of course not," the two sweat-drop.
Zero fishes the key out of the bowl, and unlocks KID's handcuffs.
Sighing in relief, KID stretches.
Then, a neon blue sign appears out of nowhere.
"Now what?"
The sign changes to the words: "Answer these Questions to Get Out. Only the truth and no cheating."
Seemingly having no choice, they sigh and say, "Fine! Let's get this over with!"
Show a picture of a guy in black and hat with a handlebar mustache.
KID immediately points his gun and shoots a card at it. The card stabbed into the wall as KID glared, and let out murderous intent.
This surprised them as they never expected the heartful thief to react that way.
KID growls, a smile on his face, "I know him as Snake. He's also known as Jackal internationally. Oh, and he keeps trying to kill me every time we meet."
The two sweat-drop as the next picture was shown.
Shows a picture of a blonde woman in black.
"Sharon Vineyard?" Zero inquires.
"Isn't it Chris Vineyard?" Akai hums.
"Nee-san?" KID asks.
"Hah?" Both adults look at him in surprise.
"Chris is Sharon…but to me, she's one of my Nee-sans," KID huffs.
They're now interested in this unexpected connection to Vermouth.
Shows a picture of a curly haired man with sunglasses.
"Mastuda?" Zero answers.
"Jin-nii?" KID answers.
"...huh?" Zero blinks at him, surprised at yet another unexpected connection, "I didn't know he had a brother."
"Jin-nii is my cousin. We only met once though," KID smiles sadly.
Zero just nods, also smiling sadly, "I see…"
"Why won't you team up with the little detective again?"
"I have an organization of my own to destroy thanks," KID growls, "But unlike you guys, I'm fighting alone."
'He's taking on an organization alone?!' They consider KID to be a bit insane, but… to be this reckless…
"What's the best type of revenge for you?"
"How does crushing their hopes and dreams, and kicking them into the depths of despair sound?" KID sweetly smiles.
Meanwhile, the other two shiver in slight fear and excitement since that would be considered worse than murder in most cases.
"Would you wear a bikini or sexy outfit?"
It only takes KID a moment before answering, "...if it's necessary, yes. I would."
The two men slightly blush at the implications of that.
"What do you do to prepare for your heists?"
"I can't tell you anything specific but I basically research everything about the jewel's owner. Even their taste in women in case I have to set up a honey trap."
'Honey trap? Seriously?' They sweat-drop as they can easily imagine it happening.
"Then I have a checklist," KID continues, "One: checking the jewel. Two: Protecting the jewel's owner from getting killed, and Three: Becoming live bait for murderous criminals and trying not to get killed."
A door appears before them, and with a click!, it unlocks itself. A way out.
Being so done with this place, KID walks towards the door and opens it, "Now then… if you'll excuse me, I have a Legendary gem and an entire organization to destroy," as he leaves.
Zero and Akai follow suit. Although they're now intrigued by KID and his connections… so they each plan on finding and recruiting him to their side…and to help him.
Meanwhile…
KID, now changed into Kaito Kuroba, goes to get chocolate ice cream as he's had a long day. None the wiser to Public Security's and the FBI's plans for him…for now.
