Damn, this view out here really was beautiful despite not seeing much, which sounds strange when said. Along the street were these little lanterns that emitted such a serene orange luminescence, though they barely did anything to actually ward off the sea of blackness called the night. Their power only reached out so far before being swallowed up by the midnight atmosphere, lost in the metaphorical ink that covered everything in these sleepy, silent hours. There were also just random squares of a soft glow which came from the insides of random stores and houses. In the dark, stocks of smoke from fireplaces inside cozy homes rose into the sky like the tendrils of a squid. But anyway, the sight on this stone street may have felt like a scene in a strange horror movie or come out of some dark abstract painting. It was so dark, but gorgeous at the same time in some strange way she couldn't understand. Was there a word to describe something that felt both eerie and peaceful at the same time? That's what standing in this lonely street felt like. For a moment her consciousness was lost in some daydream like state as she scanned over the scene like a photocopier making documents. The only thing that pulled her back was Lady Loki's lovely voice.
A smirk crawled onto Taylor's face when she noticed Lady Loki looking back at her, previously cutting off her own words out of surprise. She had obviously seen that her fiancée had read her mind and did exactly what Loki was thinking. Taylor was learning very well, having quite an aptitude for this magic skill. Well, how could she not when she had the best teacher ever? "Darling, I took a look around beforehand. I don't believe that anyone saw me. Don't trouble your mind about it," she said before chuckling a bit, "Also...the God of Mischief being so terribly worried about something like that? I thought you liked a little bit of exciting chaos now and then. Who cares if someone or two sees it? People with just think they're crazy...But, I'll listen to you, of course. After all, you know much more than I do." Of course, she knew that Loki was just worried about what would happen to her. Taylor could sense it in the way her lover gripped her arm or shoulder or hand so tightly like now. It was almost like in times like this Loki was afraid to lose her, and that's why he held her so firmly at times.
Now Loki was taking her somewhere, and she just had to trust her partner. She hurried in alongside Lady Loki, hearing her heels click against the pavement with every elegant stride until it began to squish against grass and moss. Now it was made clear that a hotel was not their destination yet, or maybe they just wouldn't go to one at all. When she looked back, she saw that little town at the base of the hill they were climbing. It looked similar to the sight of the street, only she could see many more windows and lanterns, only now they were more smaller. They were like little fireflies that had all flashed and were stuck in that state as if someone froze time. It was fascinating, but she couldn't stare for long. Loki kept pulling her along, not stopping once along the way of his trip. Again, the smell of the salty sea became more apparent. She could hear this enormous rush of liquid in the distance, which sounded rather relaxing. From these two things alone, she could come to the conclusion that they were heading towards the ocean. But where and why exactly?
The moment Loki spoke again in that unexpectedly different voice, shivers went through her spine like a shock of electricity. Every word dripped from his tongue with such a soothing tone in it, his deep voice with that pleasing British lilt music to her ears. The hand clenching around her arm started to grow ever so slightly into a shape that seemed more masculine, and it sounded like the rustle that Loki's clothes had been making was somehow different. She couldn't see him, but she knew he was right beside her in that sexy male appearance she was so used to. He was that tall, lean man with the long hair, strikingly gorgeous eyes, and dark style she has been admiring for decades. Taylor loved Lady Loki just as much since she was just Loki in another form, but it wasn't something she was fully used to seeing yet. To say the least, it was nice to have her familiar man back again. If only she could actually see him.
Finally, it appeared that they reached their destination. Being the overly curious being she was, Taylor decided to go stand at the edge and look out over the ocean. Of course, it had been made clear that she was one fearless broad. That meant that looking over this giant land formation was nothing hard for her to come to. Just as she did so, the clouds parted to let Earth's one moon shine through to the ground at an oddly coincidental time, though there were mysteriously no stars due to Loki's secret magic having to cover most of the sky. The reflected light from that large space rock made such vibrant reflections on the waves, giving off this ethereal glow of beautiful patterns. It was different than the beauty of the town in the dark. This was all nature at its finest, or so she thought this was as good as it could be.
In that moment, she thought about why the night was so beautiful in all its simplicity. Or a better question was to ask why people often never saw that beauty in this way. Was it irrational fear of the dark? Or maybe the fear of what's hidden in it? Was it the fear of being lost? Honestly, there were many complicated reasons why someone would fear something so simple. Taylor did not feel any single one of those, which wasn't a surprise. All that was here was the great expanse of a wilderness she's never experienced, her handsome lover against that rock, and herself standing in the midst of it. She saw this blackened world as a precious thing. That's why she had that childlike wonder on her face once again as she carefully stared down to the depths.
Taylor slowly walked backwards from the edge, going straight for Loki. She didn't sit on the stone slab either. Instead, she snuggled against Loki's side, putting her arms halfway around his body. One of her hands rested on his chest where his abs were, the other on his lower back. Her head leaned on him at an angle just below his left armpit. The small woman got so comfortable clinging to her fiancé, the actions making her smile slightly completely subconsciously. It was all topped off when she felt one of his long arms wrap around her. This adorable moment also reminded them both about the height difference. It was so cute how she was so little compared to him. She didn't even stand at the height where his Adam's apple was. "Yes, it is very pretty. It's so different from Asgard...but...it's hard to see at this hour though. All I can really notice is the water, the moon, the town, the edge of the cliff, and your glowing eyes. How on Earth did you even navigate yourself here in such low visibility so accurately?" Just now, she noticed her future husband conjure up his sceptre. She wondered why, but that would be revealed shortly to satisfy her wondering mind.
If it weren't for Loki's hold on her shoulders Taylor swore she would've just fell over onto the rocks and mossy ground. Her eyes went so wide that not a single millimetre of her brown iris was hidden by her eyelids. Her mouth fell ajar slightly, and her head moved off of his body to tilt back as she looked up at the colours in the late autumn sky. Of course, it was the northern lights that she was staring up at in such surprise. The stars came out too, but it was no match for the beauty that spanned across the open over them. These lights were like massive glowing ribbons that floated in random patterns, constantly moving like the flow of a waterfall. It was so miraculously intriguing that Taylor couldn't even believe they were real at first.
But what were they exactly? Taylor obviously didn't know. Where did it come from? Taylor didn't have an answer for that either. She tried to ask herself these kinds of questions, but her mind was fogged by the shock of suddenly seeing this crazy sight. Besides, what kind of conclusion could she come too? "Loki, whu-...ho-...," she kept stumbling over her words. Finally, she stopped trying to make sense of it and just stared as the strange phenomenon danced above their heads. That's all she did for at least two minutes, trying to really leave an imprint of the image in her mind. As if this place couldn't be more shockingly wonderful!
Then a sudden wave of another emotion slammed against her soul like the powerful sea down at the bottom of this mighty stone cliff. Her eyes switched to look at her fiancé's face, which was illuminated by the blue sceptre he liked to use like a cane. His expression displayed that he was revelling in amusement, and unsurprisingly, he was giving her that grin she knew so well, also staring straight at her to soak up her reaction. In that second she was overcome with this urge to express her love and gratitude. "Whatever this is...it's beautiful! Oh, I'm so glad you thought to show me this, my love," she said, her face contorting into a soft expression from what she felt inside. Then she reached up and pulled him down by the base of his neck under his many curls of raven hair, getting him to kiss her as she leaned against the rocky wall behind her back. She had to let him know her feelings through an impactful action of love instead of using her words, letting the connection of their lips do the talking. Taylor thought it was best in this romantic situation.
