Summary:

The mon. The myth. The legend.

"Regice, Regirock, Registeel. After we caught Regieleki and Regidrago, and Regigigas disappeared, for there to be another Pokémon in the same group of giants…Our luck is pretty amazing, huh?"

"That wasn't luck, Goh. That was the mission," Gary reminded him. "Seems the Split-Decision Ruins were the tip of the iceberg. Fortunately, the Project Mew Chasers have reassembled to investigate."

"Duh! I got the message too!"

"In all, there were three credible sources. Quillon is following up on the report in the Galar region. Danika and Horace are in Alola."

"Which leaves us the Hoenn region! I hope the news doesn't turn out to be a dud like when Ash and I went to Unova to check out Klinklangalangalangalang. That was a bummer. Now that I think about it, all those Magnemite sticking together would have been totally electrifying if they ever achieved their ultra rare evolution!"

"Toppling Vermilion City's power grid in the process, according to what I heard."

"Not to mention Ren would've lost Francois!"

"Save the details for later. We're here."

"Dusclops, use Will-O-Wisp!"

"Magic Bounce! Aaand BOUNCY BUBBLE!"

A Pokémon battle was just concluding in the square. The onlookers were still in the middle of clapping and had yet to resume their regular activities, requiring Goh and Gary duck and weave between them to make it to the front.

Admittedly, Gary did it with more finesse.

"Come by tomorrow! We'll battle again!"

"I will!"

"Bye!"

"Bye-bye!"

"Let's ask if any of these people have information on that Pokémon."

"Hang on."

"What?"

"I think I…Hey, I know you!" Goh realized.

"Are you talking to me?"

"You were in the Friendship Festival! And the Marine Athletic Race!"

"Tito."

"Yeah, Tito! Remember me?"

"Hmmm? Oh! OH! You're the Trainer with the funny Dewgong!"

"Hehehe. That's me. I'm Goh. This is Gary. We're investigating a Pokémon similar to this." He showed Tito a picture of Regieleki on his Pokédex. "Is it true it's here in Hoenn?"

"Uh huh!"

"Can you point us in its general direction?"

"Sure can! Regitube's mine!"

"Regitube? Yours?"

"Yeah! Wanna see?" Tito sent his new partner back out.

The obvious Water-type beeped a distinctively Regi-like cry. Its body was composed of rubbery blue circles easily mistakable for the inflatable floatation devices one might encounter at the beach or swimming pool, with a pair of tubes for each of its arms, one tube for a waist, and a pair of tubes for each leg.

The mon. The myth. The legend.

The Inner Tube Pokémon.

Tubers were gonna inherit the Pokémon world.

"Regitube…Wow, I'm actually seeing it up close!"

"You saw Regieleki and Regidrago up close, Goh."

"Gary, you're not pumped? Tito met such a rare Pokémon!"

"Maybe. Happens to Ash all the time. And didn't you meet Mew when you were six?"

"Yes, but Tito caught Regitube!"

"You caught Suicune. And Horace has Virizion."

"What's his deal?" Tito turned and rasped to Goh.

"Don't take it personally," Goh spoke normally, not hiding his criticism from Gary. "He's like this with everyone."
