Anomaly: 514

NAME: I Write, Therefore It Is

CLASSIFICATION: Folklore

DESCRIPTION: A large typewriter.

LEVEL: A

INFORMATION: Anomaly 514 aka I Write, Therefore It Is is to be contained in the Arc Corp Containments Office in a safe alongside the rest of the Anomalies that are deemed dangerous to be left out.

The Anomaly is a reality-warping anomaly capable of re-writing everything around it, but only in a 25-mile range of itself. Whatever is typed upon will become a reality within a very short amount of time. These creations, have been designated as the following:

Anomaly 514-A: A person created.

Anomaly 514-B: A place created.

Anomaly 514-C: An object created.

These types of creations are bound by what is written about them. They cannot deviate from what they were written to be made to do. If they are changed later, what the writers call a 'continuity error' these creations will start to 'glitch' between what they were previously and what they are now. If one of said creations were to make it beyond the 25-mile range of the core anomaly, they will start to dissolve into inky ash instantly.

However, the core anomaly itself has some limitations. The first being that it can't re-write reality itself on its own. It requires someone to actually do it. Said individual powers the anomaly itself via the creative writing process of the individual. The second being the writing itself.

It cannot be used to write something mundane like; "And suddenly I won the lottery" Whatever is being written must be in the form of a story, whether it be a short story or a full one. Only then will the Anomaly effects take place. Not only that, anything created by the Anomaly must play out in full. Meaning any story, person or construct must be played to completion.

HISTORY: Alan Wormwood is a writer of some renown. Not exactly Book of the Year level like Steven Queen, Archibald Coral Downton, or Bradford Stork, but renowned enough to garner a cult following. His favorite stories to make were mystery and horror. His current work was a story where his main character created a formula to turn into a Grimm, then back again. Going to a local garage sale, he found an old typewriter and took it with him in a cabin he rented in the south western region of Vale in the town of Pinewood. Once there, he started to write.

It was Arc Corp Containments Branch Jaune Arc and Blake Belladona who were called in to the region by the local sheriff who was read in who found the remains of a man torn to shreds by both human and Grimm hands. Recognizing that it was anomalous in nature, he made the call.

After investigating the sight, and having eliminated the most probable of suspects; both Grimm and any werewolves (see Anomaly 216 Werewolves for more details), they decided to camp in the woods. After setting up camp, they encountered Anomaly 514-A. This instance was a humanoid Grimm with a hunched back, digiti-grade legs, wolf-like head and red eyes, and what appears to be a secondary head embedded in the torso with the appearance of a human in his late 30s.

After shooting at it and using Anomaly 008 Crocia Mors. Both of which proved ineffective. They ran.

They made it as far as they could before collapsing when said anomaly dissolved into inky ash. Sample was collected, but vanished before a definitive identification can be determined.

Hypothesizing that it was a created construct, they investigated to see if something new occurred in the town prior. They even encountered other anomalous constructs that fall into the three categories listed above. People that the residents had no prior knowledge of, objects, stores, and even a few landmarks. None of which were found outside of 25-miles of the town. Finding out that Alan Wormwood was the core bit of gossip in the town, they went to his private cabin. Thinking he was responsible, they showed him evidence of his creations slaughter. Feeling remorse, he tried to end it with the creature dying right there and then. That was when they found out the Anomalies secondary ability.

Any story typed must play out exactly as the writer intended. In other words, the writer must finish it to its conclusion.

This was where Blake Belladonna started to shine. Using her extensive knowledge of books, together she and Alan Wormwood created sub-plots, plot twists, plot devices, tropes and other things found in a story, they concluded the story with the created anomalies made by the core one, dissolved.

Taking the Anomaly with them, a cover story was made where a sick fan wanted to recreate the writer's fictional works in real life, which was apprehended by Arc Corp. Jaune Arc even offered Alan Wormwood a job to create fictional stories based on some of the Anomalies that Arc Corp either destroyed or Contained.

Currently his works based off anomalies and heavily edited, including this case are:

Within the Fields (Anomaly 616 Hive of Worms)

Twilight Time (Anomaly 013 Twilight City)

The New House (Anomaly 190 Welcoming House)

Ghost Ship (Anomaly 4217 Rusted Queen)

And finally, The Beast Within, written by both Alan Wormwood and Blake Belladonna.

Currently, his works have garnered him a slot in the Top 35 Most Popular Books Worldwide.
