Chapter 7
"Cynthia?" A young woman calls.
"Yeah?" The golden eyed teen smiles.
The young woman sobs, her eyes irritated by the ashes. "What... What have you done?"
"I destroyed a city, obviously." Cynthia raises her eyebrows in confusion.
"Why?" The woman cries.
"Why not?" The girl frowns.
"The people. They..." She cannot finish her sentence.
Cynthia finishes it for her. "Are dead, yes."
"They had a future!" The woman screams before getting interrupted by a coughing fit.
"Every dead person had a future. Stop stating the obvious." Cynthia shakes her head like a disappointed parent. "Or they didn't, since I killed them. Maybe I was meant to be the end of their future?"
Rage consumes the woman. "If you knew the consequences, why did you do this!?"
The teen huffs with contentment. "Oh yeah? And why have you sold Cynthia to slavery?" The teen smiles sadly. "She truly liked you."
Truth be told, It was stronger than simple likeness.
The question chills the woman. "You are not Cynthia."
Cynthia's smile disappears, leaving place to resentment.
"She lost her future the moment her shackles were closed, Laure."
"No, your feet are too far apart." An armored gentleman corrects Kamui. "Look at what happens if I push you here." He makes her fall without much difficulty.
Kamui rolls back up, a dull blade in her hands. "I see, but that is the same position you told me to do before."
The man, Sir Oliver, smiles. "Indeed, that is why I know these weaknesses. The goal is to make the right move at the right moment." He waits for her to go back into position and corrects it to counter its weakness.
He tries again and Kamui shifts her weight to resist. "It isn't perfect, but with practice, you should be fine." He goes back into position, his eyes shining in excitement. "Now can you show me how you would have countered it?"
That is the game both have been playing. Sir Oliver teaches the basics of swordsmanship to Kamui and shows her the weaknesses in every stance and move. In exchange, Kamui shows him how she would have managed the situation if she had relied on her inhuman Instinct.
He charges and attacks Kamui, he kicks her to throw her off balance but she goes along with it, her back leg folding under her weight. She then makes a wide arc at the knight's feet with her bldae, which he jumps over.
Right before exploding, leaving empty pieces of armor all around.
"Why did you not dodge my attack?" The armor reassembles itself. "You could have sustained a serious injury if it were a serious duel."
Kamui smiles. "I wanted to experience it, it could happen to me someday. I'm sure there are entities that I will not be able to outpace."
Sir Oliver hums, his head/helm under his shoulder. "You dragon-class entities sure have complex ways of beating each other up. So much factors to take into account."
Kamui looks at her phone for a second. "I think we should stop here, thank you again for your teachings." She nods respectfully.
"You are very much welcome, I find our sessions quite fascinating." He puts his helmet back on his shoulder before taking the appearance of a man in his forties. "Would you like to repeat the experience next week?"
"Next week same time?" He nods. "Perfect, see you next week then."
Kamui had felt a spike in magical energy when she was wandering around. 'The dragons, probably.'
...
It was the dragons.
'They are playing... dodgeball?' She wonders as she approaches Kobayashi, Kanna, and another child.
"Whatcha doing?" Kobayashi almost jumps at Kamui's question. "Sorry." The blonde smiles.
"It's alright." The brunette rearranges her glasses with a sigh. "They wanted to fight following the rules of dodgeball, if I understood correctly."
"Good afternoon Miss Emiya." Kanna salutes, her friend following suit. "This is Saikawa."
"And what are you?" The spellblade wonders.
Kobayashi intervenes. "She is Kanna's classmate from 1st grade. A hundred percent human." She whispers the last part.
*BOOM*
Kamui hums. "Here goes the cover." She waves at the smoke. "Ah? Let me guess, the newcomers are of the scaly type too?"
"Oh? Not all dragons have scales, you know? Kanna has feathers for example." A suave voice calls from the ground. "Oh my~ a new face."
The smoke clears. 'Do they even make underwear for these kinds of... stature?' Kamui can feel her eyes widen like those of a cartoon character. "Nice to meet you... Ma'am."
The tall dragon stands up, her assets bouncing. "Oh~ what a cute girl. You can call me Lucoa." She gets closer. "I really like your outfit. Too bad it would not work on me..."
Kamui blushes, not used to being complimented on her outfit. "Th-Thank you... You can call me Emiya."
"She is our appointed guardian when it comes to matters related to your world." Kobayashi explains to Lucoa as she takes a good look at Kamui's outfit.
The programmer observes the interaction between the two, Lucoa complimenting Kamui on her appearance and giving her fashion advices. 'It's true that she is only eighteen.' Kobayashi smiles as the spellblade seems flustered.
"You should show more skin. Men love it." The dragon says, rubbing the hem of Kamui's skirt between her fingers.
"Wow wow wow! What are you talking about?" Kobayashi intervenes, not liking the way the one-sided conversation seems to be going.
After cleaning their mess (by letting Lucoa restore the playground and erase all bystanders' memories), the dragons decided to gather at one of the picnic tables.
First, there is Quetzalcoatl (who goes by Lucoa). A tall female dragon who belongs to no faction as she refuses to take part in any type of fighting. She got an intense lecture by Kamui for being a groomer. "But he will soon be of age..." She protested meekly.
There is also Fafnir. He is a dwarf who was cursed into a dragon by his own greed. A master in the art of curses and other hexes, he believes that humans are insignificant. He, however, respects the laws of this world. He is also strong enough to be factionless.
Both came by to visit Tohru, though Lucoa found herself a master in a young boy and thus became a resident of the modern world.
"I will go." The edgy dragon that is Fafnir proclaims before leaving, not even waiting for any kind of response from the others.
Lucoa looks up at the darkening sky. "I think I should go too. Shouta will be waiting for me." She sweats a little at Kamui's wary glare. "You should visit soon... Yeah, what about this week-end, in fact?"
Kamui's face relaxes as she gives a nonchalant wave. "Have a nice evening."
"You are invited too~." The Dragoness chuckles, exiting the playground.
It is only Kobayashi and Kamui at the table now.
"Kamui." Kobayashi calls as Tohru and Kanna come back from taking saikawa home. "How was it like in your home world?"
While she may not show it, Tohru is quite interested.
Kamui thinks for a second. "It's mostly the same except that there is no secret mage organization that is hunting you down because of your lineage. Also, there are no gruesome wars for a wishing device that end up twisting your wish into mass destruction, I guess." She smiles and answers an unasked question. "Yeah, I quite like it here."
"You don't miss people, Miss Emiya?" Kanna wonders, missing her dad a bit.
"No. I miss nothing. There is nothing left to be missed." Kamui plays with a leaf lazily. "What about you, Kanna?"
The young girl looks down at the table. "I'm not sure..."
"I will never leave your side, Miss Kobayashi! Be sure of that!" Tohru intervenes with a bright smile.
"Yeah, I understood that part." Kobayashi shares a smile. "I believe you should come visit Lucoa with us." She turns to Kamui.
Kamui opens her calendar app. "Alright."
"Kanna, you should come to my house!" Saikawa has a bright idea, stars shining in her eyes.
"Have you asked your parents?" Kamui smirks lazily."
The brunette flinches before starting to run. "I'll be back!"
"You're already leaving?" Tohru asks Kamui as she stands up. 'I want to know more.'
"Yeah, I have a Comiket to prepare." She waves with a lazy smile. "Good evening."
"Have a good evening." "See you."

Thank you again for reading this story :)
Just wanted to add that whenever a false information comes out of Kamui's mouth, it is voluntary. She is quite clueless about magecraft in reality, that's why she believes to be an heroic spirit. However, if it's the narrator that said something wrong, do not hesitate to notify me (I know I make mistakes, just not where).
