Chapter III
"Naboo Again
"It would be safer for the Senator if she were to return to Naboo." Mace Windu said. Yoda added, "Find out who is behind these attacks we should." Windu said, "Obi-Wan you will try to find out who is behind these assassination attempts. Anakin will accompany the senator to Naboo." Obi-Wan said, "She may be a little difficult to handle. She doesn't see herself as in danger. And I'm worried about my young apprentice being alone on a mission this dangerous he is untrustworthy." Anakin glared but Mace Windu said, "Anakin go to the Chancellor and ask him to help you. Obi-Wan get used to the idea." Anakin agreed. He went to see Palpatine. "The Senator Amidala will not refuse an executive order. I assure you, you will be able to make her go to Naboo." Then turning to Anakin the powerful man said, "So they finally gave you your first mission alone. Your patience has paid off." Anakin said, "Thanks to your council." Palpatine said, "Believe me you soon won't need my council anymore. I see you becoming a great Jedi, greater than Master Yoda." Without him ever realizing that he was being flattered Anakin said, "Thank you." The other man said, "Go now I have other busyness to attend to."
"I don't like this." Padmé Amidala said while packing. Anakin replied, "Sometimes we have to put aside our preferences and do what we're supposed to do." She said, "Anakin you've grown up." Anakin smiled and said, "Obi-Wan doesn't seem to realize it." She replied, "Mentors are like that they always try to bring the better out of people." Anakin turned and began to use the Force to move a small sphere around while doing so he said, "Don't get me wrong Obi-Wan is as wise as Yoda and as strong as Mace Windu." Turning back around to face her he said, "But in many ways I am past him. I am ready for the trials but he keeps holding me back." The trials here mentioned are the ones that permit a Padawan to become a Jedi Knight. She stated, "That must be frustrating." He said, "Its worse it's exasperating." The 24 year old senator answered, "Anakin don't try to grow up too quickly." He answered, "But I am grown up. You said it yourself." She didn't answer that instead she went on packing. She then began to talk to Jar Jar Binks, "Listen I'm going to need someone to represent me to the Senate. I'm counting on you. Can you represent me to the Senate?" Jar Jar didn't know what to say, "Thank…thank you meesa will represent you to the maxi of…" She cut him off with, "I'm sure you have a lot to do." The Gungan replied, "Yes." And then he added, "Meesa senator." Barely were the words out of his mouth that he fainted. The next stop was with her double. The double began to cry. "Don't worry you will have my bodyguards and I'm sure nothing will happen to you." The double said, "It isn't that. What if they find out that you're no longer here?" Turning to face Anakin she said, "Then my brave Jedi friend will have to protect me." Anakin opened his mouth, "It's time to go." The double and her lady hugged then they each took their respected places. Obi-Wan said, "I hope they don't do anything foolish Captain Typho said, "It's her I worry about she's not one to take orders." The two men look at each other they each knew their charges well. The Padawan and Senator talked like equals tend to do. "I'm afraid. I've never been this much alone I always had a vast amount of servants and/or bodyguards." She said. Anakin replied, "I'm a little nervous too. This is my first mission without Obi-Wan." There was a pause then he said, "At least we got R2 with us." At this remark the droid twittered happily. And the two of them laughed. Into the refugee ship they went bound for Naboo. While in it Anakin told her he was in loved with her. "But I thought it was forbidden to love." Anakin tried to smile while saying, "Passion is forbidden, but compassion which I call the truest form of love is encouraged. You could say that we are encouraged to love." Padmé Amidala was not convinced by this answer. During that time Obi-Wan went to see an old friend. He then showed him the arrow head that they had extracted from the person who wanted to assassinate Padmé. "That's from Kamino they are cloners. They're some of the best in the galaxy." Obi-Wan said, "Cloners? Are they kind to strangers?" The other said, "That depends on your manners… Or the size of your pocketbook."
The ship had finally arrived and the pair walked off on Naboo soil. Anakin asked a question, "You were a very popular queen. I heard they were planning on changing the constitution in order to elect you yet one more time. Why didn't you let them?" The answer was prompt in coming, "I couldn't let them do that. Popular government isn't the way a republic works. But when the queen asked me to represent Naboo in the Senate I couldn't say no." Anakin said. "And that is a good thing. The Republic needs you." During that time Obi-Wan was looking for the planet's star that his friend had talked about. He looked in the Jedi archives but found nothing when he said, "How is that possible?" The lady in charge said, "If a planet isn't in our archives it's that it never existed." Then she turned on her heels and left. Inside the royal palace the new queen sat with the oldest and wisest advisor of Naboo. Nearby sat Padmé Amidala ready to talk the politics of the time. "I hope we can prevent going to war my queen." The queen thought for a while then said, "We must believe in the Republic the day we stop believing in it is the day that we will no longer use it." Padmé Amidala said, "I hope that day will never come." The queen got up as did the others in the room. Anakin which was standing nearby joined the group. The old councilor said, "We should worry about your security now senator. What do you think young Jedi?" Amidala said, "Anakin? He's not a Jedi only a Padawan. I think…" Anakin tried to say, "Senator…" The former queen pressed on, "I think the old sea resort would be ideal." He pressed on this time louder, "Senator!" She turned and said, "What?" Anakin put his point in, "Senator, Obi-Wan put me in charge of security…" She interrupted, "Anakin!" Then she realized the look of surprise on the queen and the old advisors face. If these two couldn't agree on such a simple subject making it a point of authority between them then what hope was there for the Republic? "Anakin," she said in a softer voice, "I know my planet and I know where I would be the safest. Nearly no one goes to the sea resort this time of year. It would be the perfect place to hide." Anakin said, "As you wish senator." During that time Obi-Wan continues his investigation. When one had a question too difficult to answer one went to Yoda. The Master Jedi was training a group of kids. He said, "Let us pause for now. Master Obi-Wan has a question." Obi-Wan said, "I am in search for a lost planet." Yoda answered, "Youngling Master Obi-Wan has lost a planet. Embarrassing that can be." With that he chuckled and said, "Show him the galactic map children and let us concentrate on finding Obi-Wan's lost planet." Obi-Wan walked among the pictures of stars. "According to a friend of mine who has traveled the galaxy the planet should be here." He said pointing to the empty space on the map. "But as you can see there is nothing there." "Yes"The Grand Master Jedi said, "The map says there is nothing and the traveler says that it is there. What think you children?" He paused for a moment then said, "Anyone?" A boy answered, "Someone must have erased it off the map." Yoda chuckled, "How simple children are. Obi-Wan answer have you. Someone erased it off the map." The two of them walked into the next room where Obi-Wan said, "Why would anyone do that?" Yoda pondered, "Jedi it would have to be. But do not worry your mind too much with this. Go to your planet and find it exactly where it's supposed to be."
