Chapter VI
Will they die?
Obi-Wan tried to contact Coruscant but it was too far away. He then tried to send a message to Anakin whom he believed to be on Naboo. "What do you mean he's not on Naboo? Where is he?" The answer came soon enough. "Tatooine, what is he doing there? I told him to stay on Naboo. Never mind put us in contact with him." He then looked straight at the "camera" and said, "Anakin transmit this to the Jedi Council." R2 D2 copied the message. During that time Anakin and Padmé where at the funeral. Lars said, "You where a good wife and a good mother. I'm sure that wherever you are it has become a better place." Anakin fell to his knees and said, "I love you mom. Always have. I will try to make you proud by being a Jedi. I remember my oath and I'll do my best to keep it." Barely were the words out of his mouth that R2D2 came rolling up. Padmé said, "R2 what are you doing here?" The droid beeped several times. C3PO said, "He says there is an urgent message for Anakin Skywalker to redirect to the Jedi Council from a certain Obi-Wan Kenobi." Anakin got up and said, "Sorry we have to leave." Lars said, "I understand. Take C3PO with you. He's your droid." They went to see the message Obi-Wan Kenobi had sent. "To the members of the Jedi Council I state, 'There is a clone army built by the cloners on the planet I was looking for. Also Count Duku is raising an army to defeat the republic. He has dealings with the trade federation and the banking federation. The assassin who was behind the assassination attempts against Padmé Amidala is somewhere on this planet. I am on Genosis. The locals here have also sworn to help Count Duku. Wait…" Then a droidika appears and begins to shoot. Obi-Wan with lightsaber in hand is blocking the shots. Then the transmission cuts. Mace Windu lets out a sigh. "I guess its war then. I will gather as many Jedi as I can to go to Genosis. You Anakin stay where you are and protect the senator." Anakin answers, "I will." But Padmé said, "Look we are a lot closer to Genosis then they are. We should go there." Anakin said, "The orders were clear, stay where you are." Amidala said, "He also told you to protect the senator. I'm going if you want to protect me then you'll have to accompany me." So they went taking C3PO and R2D2 with them. When they arrived they disembarked. R2D2 began to whistle. C3PO answered, "No if they needed us they would have asked for us." There was some more whistling. "How do I know that? Because I am a protocol droid." R2D2 whistled again. "What does that mean? Why that means I'm programmed to understand them. Where are you going? Wait for me." He said the last sentences as R2D2 was rolling down the ramp. Now the senator and the Padawan were exploring when Padmé got picked up by flying Genosian and dropped into a melting pot. Anakin tried to save her but he was pushed unto an assembly line where he fell to the ground and got his arm stuck. A massive pounding machine was up ahead. He could see his lightsaber further on the line. C3PO entered first with R2D2 just behind. "Machines building machines; how uncivilized!" R2D2 who wanted to go forward pushed C3PO forward. Then he finally pushed him over the edge. C3PO fell and got his head sliced off and the body received a new head. "Weapons not present." At the same time his head was placed on a war droid. "Oh what a fix I'm in." He moaned. During this time the melting pot got closer and closer to a disaster. The pots were filled with hot lava and Padmé Amidala was in danger of being burned alive. Anakin finally got free from what had been blocking his arm and ran past the pounding machine he then called his lightsaber to him and tried to ignite it. It wouldn't light. "Obi-Wan is going to kill me." Then his face changed. "Padmé where are you?" All this while R2D2 had been working getting to where he could stop the lava flow. He finally turned the right dial and the lava machine which should have poured into the pot where Padmé stood was closed just over her pot. A second latter and it would have been too late. The pot fell and she was able to get out just when she heard her name being called. "I'm here." She said. Anakin jumped to where she was. Just then Genosians surrounded them and pointed blasters at them. "Surrender."
The two of them found themselves in a cart. Then quite suddenly Padmé leaned forward and kissed Anakin. Anakin said, "I thought we agreed not to love that it would destroy our lives." The woman answered, "Our lives are going to be destroyed soon enough." Anakin said one more thing, "And the promise I made to my mother?" Padmé answered, "You'll make a good Jedi, Anakin. That's one reason why I love you." Then the noise of a trumpet was heard and the two still eyes in eyes entered an arena. Obi-Wan was there already chained to a column. Two other columns were there one on the left and one on the right. "What are you doing here?" Obi-Wan asked. "Come to rescue you master." Anakin's answered. The Master said, "Congratulations on your efficiency." The irony in his voice was apparent. While they chained Anakin to a pillar Padmé picked pocketed a metal bar which was hanging off a Genosisian. She then put it in her mouth. They then chained her without realizing that she held her freedom in her mouth. Count Duku appeared in the grandstands with the bounty hunter who was behind the assassination attempts on the senator Amidala standing next to him. The Count waved his hand and said. "Let the games begin." A roar was heard behind the gate and out came… a monster and another and another. Padmé used the metal bar in her mouth to pick the lock and begin climbing. Anakin asked, "How is Padmé?" He said realizing that the first monster must have gotten to her first. Obi-Wan said, "She seems to be on top of things." He answered alluding to the fact that she was on top of the pillar. As a short monster tried to grab her she swung her chain to stay free of its grasp. The leader of the Trade Federation said, "She shouldn't be allowed to do that. Shoot her." But Count Duku simply said, "Don't worry she will die." Then a monster with two horns the one in front being longer then the other and looking like a huge rhinoceros charged at Anakin. Anakin waited till the last second then jumped into the air. The monster crashed into the pillar and broke the top piece of Anakin's chain. Then Padawan Skywalker used the Force to calm the animal then he leaped on his back and threw the chain on the front horn of the animal. Once he had it under control he charged it into Obi-Wan's chains. Then the Master leaped up behind him. Padmé was trying to keep the little monster from pulling her down when suddenly its claws made contact with her dress and ripped an opening in it which (conveniently) made an opening that revealed her belly no more no less. Just then Anakin's monster struck the monster that was trying to pull her down. Anakin said, "Jump." And she did landing behind Anakin and in front of Obi-Wan. She wrapped her arms around Anakin as he started to wonder what to do now. The scene changes to behind Count Duku as a clocked figure approaches. He turns and you recognize Mace Windu. He immediately lifts his finger to his lips in sign to be quiet. Just then droidika appear in the arena. There is a gasp and you see Mace Windu with a lightsaber near Count Duku's neck. Count Duku said, "I imagine you didn't come alone. But it is too late the Jedi will be overwhelmed." Mace answered, "We'll see about that." Two hundred lightsabers were light and the Jedi jumped into the arena. Two lightsabers were thrown at Obi-Wan and Anakin who pulled them towards themselves. Then Mace Windu jumped in himself.
