Chapter 1: Meet the Owens
In the wide open expanses of the Pacific Ocean, a medium to large sized speed boat flew through the waters at a medium speed, causing the wind to blow hard around it.
On the deck of the boat stood a pair of two boys, one leaning against the railing and looking out at the sea before them, and the other with his back turned to the water and fiddling with what looked to be a Gameboy.
Both young men seemed to most likely be twenty one or twenty two years old or so, with the one leaning on the railing of the ship being the slightly taller of the two.
Said lad was around five foot nine, possibly five ten, with Caucasian skin that seemed to be sufficiently tanned. He had a rather medium build, like that of a guy who consistently went to the gym to stay fit. He also seemed to be very handsome and looked like he was of English descent, with a pair of purple eyes and black hair that was cut very short at the sides and was in a faux hawk at the top which was dyed purple as well.
Attire wise his clothes consisted of a pair of dark gray cargo pants, a pair of similarly colored hiking boots, a purple T-Shirt with a faded London Flag on the front, a gray vest with a T-Rex pin on the left chest area, a gray leather Buss boy hat that had a bit of stitching on the bill, and lastly a pair of gray work gloves. He also had some sort of gold pendant around his neck with some sort of dinosaur engraved on it as well, and a chain hooked to and dangling from his vest pocket, but what it was attached to couldn't be seen.
The other stood at a height of six foot four with lightly tanned skin. He had a runner's build, and an equally handsome appearance matching the other passenger. He was of the same English descent and had brown eyes with black hair that ended with blue tips.
Attire wise, he wore a black leather jacket with a blue Velociraptor skull sewn onto the back, a blue shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of archaeology boots. He was also wearing a belt with some equipment on it that included a pickaxe, a radar unit and some cleaning tools. Around his neck was a pendant of a Velociraptor skull.
The boy leaning against the railing adjusted the briefcase on his shoulder as he stood back up, rolling his shoulder a bit due to the weight of whatever was inside the thing. The briefcase was simply brown in color, and had two straps holding it closed.
His companion was still thumbing on his device, his own satchel resting more comfortably on his own shoulder.
"Hey you two! Come on down here!" A voice called from inside the boat's main quarters.
"Coming!" The two called back as they went into the boat. Their voices seemed to have a Welsh accent.
"I'm Captain Travers, nice to meet you. So, I take it you're going to Vivosaur island to become fossil fighters, right?" The man asked.
The captain in question was a similarly tanned man of sixty seven or so, with short gray hair, a slight beach goers belly and was wearing a pair of white shorts, a fisherman's hat and a blue Hawaiian shirt.
"That's right." The boys nodded.
"Yeah, I've seen that excited twinkle in the eyes of many fighters many a time." The man nodded. "But it says a lot about you, kiddo. It takes a lot of bravery to go to Vivosaur Island all on your lonesome." He added.
"I'm more interested in going there for academic purposes, and to see what it's like to go on an adventure like this." The first boy stated. "Plus if what my mum and dad told me about the place is to be believed—it ought to be bloody brilliant." He added.
"I'm looking forward to going to an island where I can see Dinosaurs up close." The second boy replied, putting his device away.
"Ha! Sounds like you have parents who know their stuff!" The captain laughed in reply. "Say, what're your names, boys?" He questioned.
"The name's Stanford, Stanford Owen. But please—call me Ford." The boy said as he shook the man's hand.
"I'm his twin brother, Stanley Owen. I prefer being called Lee, though." The taller boy added as he shook the captain's hand.
"Ford and Lee, huh?" The captain mused as he refocused on driving the boat. "Tell me something, you two, what's your favorite kind of dinosaur? Do you like carnivores or herbivores more?" He asked.
"Carnivores, I've always related to those beasts because my usual diet usually consists of more meat and protein adjacent foods by volume." Ford replied as he thought about the question for a few seconds before answering.
"Same." The taller sibling nodded in agreement.
"Alright then." The captain nodded. "What is your favorite carnivore out of the bunch?" He then asked.
"Tyrannosaurus Rex. In fact it's where I got my name, I was named after the famous T-Rex Stan." The boy replied.
"Wait, seriously?" The captain asked in surprise. "Huh. It's like your parents knew what to expect." He added absently, getting a chuckle in return.
"Oh yeah, it's gotten me some rhuddy good laughs back home, that's for sure." Ford said sarcastically, his eyes rolling.
"I bet. Anyway, I'll be sure to remember that. Ford, the T-Rex lover." Travers nodded as they neared their destination. "And you?" He asked the taller of the two.
"I'm more partial to small quick predators in general, Raptors specifically. Those guys are fast, tricky and act as a team. It's part of why I love 'em." Lee explained with a grin.
"I'll remember that." Travers nodded. "We're coming up on vivosaur island." He told his passengers.
"Oh this I have got to see." The boy said as he and his brother ran towards the end of the boat and saw the island coming into view.
"Bloody hell…" The two gasped in surprise as the boat got closer and closer to the destination.
The two boys could make out the faint outlines of the buildings on the island, along with a few mountains further away. There was even a forest that he could see, and it looked like a lush one, too.
Ford couldn't see it, but he also knew that there was a desert from what he read about the island. While Lee saw a large glacier in the distance.
Minutes later, the boat pulled into the dock and allowed Ford to step off, and after saying goodbye to Captain Travers, he went up to the main gate where two women were standing behind a front desk waiting for more new arrivals.
One woman was a dirty blonde who was wearing a green and purple women's business suit, and the other was a strawberry blonde who was wearing a pink and green version of her colleague's outfit. They both had attractive figures with D-Cup breasts and heart shaped asses.
"Hello, and welcome to Vivosaur Island." The dirty blonde said, walking up to him and getting his attention.
"Yes, welcome." The strawberry blonde nodded.
"I'm Beth and this is my coworker Sue. We take the task of greeting new residents as they arrive to our wonderful island." She continued.
"Thanks for the welcome, ladies." Ford nodded, his accent causing them to blush a little.
"Yes, thanks." Lee nodded. "Would you be so kind as to point me in the direction of the man in charge here?" He requested politely.
Right as Sue was about to reply, however…
"No, no! Not that way!" A man's voice exclaimed, drawing their attention. The man the voice came from was a rather thin African American man with turquoise colored hair, and similarly colored eyes, who was wearing a lab coat, Hawaiian shorts, sandals, a teal colored tank top and a pair of round glasses sat at the bridge of his nose. "No… that's not it either." He continued before thinking for a few seconds. "Hang on a tick." He added.
"The fuck is this…?" Lee whispered to his brother, who shrugged, just as baffled.
"Dr. Diggins!" Beth called as she walked up to him, getting his attention. "Can I assume you're here to show our newest arrivals around?" She asked.
"New recruits? Oh, yes…. Yes yes…" He rambled. "Wait, no, that's not right… Uh, What were we talking about again?" He continued.
"Oh bloody hell…" Ford groaned as he facepalmed.
Lee, meanwhile, just gestured between the two women and the scientist—as if to say 'is guy for real?', his face contorted in confusion.
"The island's newest arrivals." Sue replied.
"Oh Uh… Sorry, I gotta go." The scientist said before rushing off. "So much to do, so much to do." He rambled as everyone sweat-dropped.
"… Who was that rhuddy blasted train wreck?" The Essex native questioned in exasperation and mild irritation.
"Took the words right out of my mouth." Lee nodded.
"That was Dr. Diggins, the man in charge of the Fossil Center." Sue replied with a sigh. "Apologies for his behavior. He gets like that sometimes." She added.
"Scatterbrained, you mean?" The talker of the brothers surmised.
"Basically." Beth nodded. "Come. I'll take you to the Fossil Center." She added as they proceeded to head to the entrance of the building in question.
"So, is it okay if my brother and I actually brought our own fossil rocks here with us?" Ford asked as they walked towards the building at the center of the street way.
"Yes. Why? Did you two bring one?" The strawberry blonde asked, getting a nod in return.
"Yep. I won't say which one until it's revived, though." Ford replied with a grin.
"Preserves the surprise." Lee added.
"We don't get many arrivals who come with their own fossil rocks. You're bound to stand out." Beth chuckled as they reached the building. "Just go on in, Wendy—the receptionist—should be inside right now." She continued.
"Thanks, well, I guess we better shove off then." The purple haired lad said as he and his brother walked inside the building.
"See you later!" The black and blue haired boy called back as he followed.
The moment they entered, Wendy had spotted them since there wasn't anyone else around.
"Hello, and welcome to the fossil center." She said as he approached her. "I assume you're here to become registered as a Fossil Fighter, correct?" She asked.
"That's right. Is the Dr. in, or has he wandered off?" Ford nodded before asking a question. Wendy sighed a bit at that.
"Sadly, it seems Dr. Diggins has wandered off again. Why not get checked into the hotel while you wait for him to get back?" She replied, making a suggestion at the end.
"Come on already…" Lee groaned, facepalming in exasperation.
"Oh fuck all kinds of duck…" Ford groaned. "Oh well, that sounds good." He nodded.
"I'll check back later when I'm done at the hotel." The blue tipped boy nodded.
"Same." The purple haired lad hummed. "…Where is it, by the way?" He then asked.
"Oh, it's right next to the Fossil Center." The receptionist replied.
"Thanks." Ford nodded before he took his leave.
"We'll be back in a few!" His brother called back before the siblings started making their way to the hotel.
However as Ford stepped out the Fossil Center—he heard someone call out to him.
"WHOOOOOA! LOOK OUT! I CAN'T STOP!" A girl's voice yelled before someone collided into the boy and caused them to fall to the ground.
"Ow… Bloody hell, what just happened…?" Ford groaned, holding his head in a daze. As he fumbled around on the ground to get up, his hand suddenly found something soft—which he instinctively squeezed.
"Mmmm…. Ugh. Ya mind?" The girl's voice moaned before groaning, prompting the boy to quickly pull his hand away.
"Oh, blimey. S-sorry!" He apologized with a stutter. He then helped the girl up and helped her dust herself off, which let him get a good look at her.
The girl looked to be a redhead who had her hair cut short and was dressed in a burgundy paleontology outfit. She was also rather cute as well, brown eyes and freckles made her seem very approachable and she also had a decent figure too. Her chest seemed to also be around in the C-cup range.
"Don't worry too much about it. I did run into you." She said after dusting herself off. "Name's Peggy, by the way." She added, her voice seemed to carry a quite noticeable Scottish accent. Something Ford quickly recognized as a highland variant having been to the city multiple times.
"Call me Ford." The boy said as he shook her hand.
"Lee." The taller sibling added with a nod as he approached the two. "Nice crash there, Ford." He teased his brother.
"Don't start." Ford snapped as he turned towards Peggy. "Your accent sounds really familiar for some reason, don't suppose you're from the Highlands by any chance?" The shorter sibling asked.
"Yeah, I am. And if I'm hearing your accent right, you must be from Wales. Am I wrong?" Peggy asked, noting the boy's accent.
"Yeah, Swansea, actually. Though I moved to Essex." Ford chuckled.
"Nearly had the Essex accent take over, it was almost impossible to understand him." Lee chuckled.
"For Christ's sake, Lee, shut your fucking gob." His brother groaned.
"Oh yeah. Forgot that's a thing that can happen." Peggy chuckled. "Anyway, sorry about the crash. I was just going for a jog, and the next thing I knew, I couldn't slow down." She explained, causing Ford to raise a brow.
"How do you lose your ability to slow your own running speed?" The taller of the two brothers wondered.
"Hey, it happens, alright?" She said defensively. "Anyway… Maybe there's a way we can make it up to each other?" The Scottish girl asked, her hands behind her back as she swayed her hips a bit in a pretty cute manner.
"Maybe a Vivosaur fight when I get licensed." Ford replied before blinking. "You're a fighter, right?" He asked.
"I am. But I'm kind of new to this whole thing… Maybe next time?" Peggy offered.
"Sounds fair… Okay, then how about we go out to dinner then? I always thought that was a sufficient apology gift for anyone who lives in the UK." The boy offered, which got a smile from Peggy as she walked up to him, their faces right in front of him as she grinned.
"Alright then, gent. It's a date." The runner smirked before backing up. "How about tonight at say… seven?" She offered.
"Works for me." Ford nodded before they parted ways.
"Already getting a date, bro? It hasn't even been a day since we got here." Lee quipped with a chuckle.
"What can I say? I know how to work." Ford shrugged before the two started to head to the apparent Relic Hotel, where the manager greeted him.
"Hello and welcome to the Relic Hotel, where all Fossil Fighters come to enjoy their stay." The man said in a posh British accent. "I am the Hotel manager, Lazlo Relic. Pleased to meet your acquaintance." He continued. "Are you both by any chance already registered?" He asked.
"Yeah, it should be under the name Owen, Stanford and Stanley." The purple haired lad nodded, gesturing between him and his brother.
Lazlo quickly pulled out what looked to be a tablet before typing on it and scrolling.
"Ah yes, your rooms are on the second floor. Numbers 3A and 4A." The man nodded, handing the duo a pair of key cards. "Here're your keys, the elevator is just across the lobby to the right." He added.
"Thanks." The two nodded in unison as they went to the elevator and took it up to the second floor.
"Well, guess this is where we split up." Lee said as he went to his room door.
"Yeah. I'll see you later." His brother nodded before going to his room, Lee doing the same.
Upon entering, it looked like a simple room. It had a bed big enough for two people, which gave Ford plenty of comfort for a while, a TV, a kitchen, a table, and a balcony overlooking the plaza. "Hm. Seems homey enough for me." He mused as he set his briefcase down on the table and sat in a chair.
Opening the bag up, he slowly pulled out a large rock that was right next to his tablet, pencils, pens, notepad, journal, and the books he brought with him. It was the last gift that his mother had left him before she'd disappeared. And regardless of what people told him, he was going to use it to find her, no matter what.
Putting the rock under his arm, he then decided to go back to the fossil center. It was time to get this thing cleaned.

Meanwhile, Lee was in his own room. It really wasn't all that different from Ford's layout, so he was going to need to get a few things to set himself apart. That could wait though.
Putting his briefcase on the table, he opened it and pulled out a fossil rock. Unlike Ford's however, this one contained the skull of a Velociraptor.
"Now. Time to get to work." The boy nodded as he headed out, straight towards the Fossil Center.

-Fossil Center, Vivosaur
The automatic doors of the domed building opened slowly as Ford walked in, his Fossil rock in tow. As he stepped up to the front desk, he quickly wrapped his knuckles on it to get the attention of Wendy, who was reading a magazine behind the desk.
"Oh, you're back! Dr. Diggins is in his lab right now. Better go see him before he runs off again." She told him, right as Lee walked in behind Ford.
"Thank you miss, I'll do just that." The young man nodded.
"You go on ahead, I wanna check something." Lee told his brother, getting a nod in return.
"Cheerio!" He called back as he walked into the cleaning room, and was met by the sight of Dr. Diggins getting the cleaning station ready.
"Hm? Oh! You're here! Good good! Give me a moment to finish this up!" The scatterbrained scientist exclaimed, looking at him briefly.
"I've got time, chap." Ford said as he simply waited with his Fossil. After a couple of minutes, the scientist had finished what he was doing.
"Alright, that should do it." The scientist nodded before he turned to the boy behind him. "So, you must be Stanford, nice to meet you." He said.
"Likewise, and please, call me Ford." The boy nodded before adjusting his grip on his Fossil rock, which drew Diggins's attention to it.
"Oooohh! Brought your own Fossil, did you? Very nice!" He nodded, eager to see a Vivisaur from off the island. "Ah, you know that reminds me of the first time I ever found a fossil." The man sighed wistfully.
"How so?" Ford asked as Diggins led him to the cleaning station and got his rock into position.
"Well, it all started when I was a little boy. You see I had accidentally broken my mother's favorite tea cup when I was trying to make myself a glass of English Breakfast tea." The man began, remembering the event as if it had just happened moments ago.
"Uhh…" Ford said as he tried to follow the story.
"I was scared she'd notice, so I took it and tried to bury it in our backyard." The man continued. "But, upon doing so, I suddenly hit a strange rock, which turned out to be a Stegosaurus plate Fossil." He added.
'What the…?! That's not how it works!' Ford thought in disbelief. Seriously, anyone who claims they found a dinosaur fossil in their garden is either crazy… or has the luck of the devil if their area happened to be layered a certain way for it to happen.
The turquoise haired man laughed as he continued his story. "I was so happy and excited about my discovery that I forgot what I was doing in the first place and ran in to show my mother." He stated, causing Ford to sweatdrop. "When she asked where I got it, I had to tell her why I was in the garden in the first place." He added.
"... You're kidding, right?" The boy questioned.
"Nope! In fact, that fossil is my most prized possession." The man said in reply, smiling as he did. "But enough of that. Put that Fossil stone of yours here." He instructed, placing a hand on the cleaning station.
Ford nodded as he did so and watched the conveyor belt slide it inside the machine and lock it into position. Digging into his pocket, he then pulled out a silver pocket watch which had a green Celtic three leaf clover on its face, and the phrase "Luck made, Not given" on the back.
"Alright, so how long do I have to clean it?" He asked after checking the time and snapping his watch closed and pocketing it.
"You have three minutes, so work fast." Diggins told him. Ford grabbed a hammer and started smashing away at the stone surrounding his prize.
After the three minutes was up, the two then looked at the cleaned skull, which was completely clean! There wasn't a speck of dust or damage on it whatsoever, it was perfect!
"Now this is what I had in mind!" Ford exclaimed with a grin, very pleased with his handiwork.
"Ho ho! I haven't seen a fossil this amazing in ages!" Diggins exclaimed in delight. "Seems you're excellent at this already." He added. "Now, let's revive this bad boy." He nodded.
"Oh yeah." Ford nodded as he placed the skull in the revival machine. The turquoise haired man then pressed a few buttons and the machine activated, reviving the fossil in a new form.
As the Vivosaur was materialized, it was soon revealed to be a T-Rex, but this one was mostly purple and black with a mane of purple hair and huge white railroad spike-like teeth, and a large head that held two purple eyes that glared intensely at the two.
"Whoa. Easy, buddy." Ford said as he held up his hands in a placating gesture. The freshly revived creature approached him and growled lightly, sniffing him a bit.
The beast then let out a deep and low growl which sounded like any other growl to Diggins and the lab assistant in the room. But to Ford it instead sounded like this…
"Who are you?" A deep and regal voice questioned, with an accent that the boy immediately categorized as a Royal Standard English dialect.
"I'm Ford. I'm the one who brought you back." He replied without thinking. This got quizzical looks from the two other people in the lab.
"Um, Ford, who are you talking to?" Diggins asked, causing the boy to look at him.
"My… Vivosaur, why?" The boy asked.
"Wait, are you saying you're able to telepathically communicate with your vivosaur?" The scientist asked.
"No, I think it's more along the lines of me understanding what he's verbally saying." The boy replied. "Why? What are you hearing?" He asked.
"I can only hear growling." The man said, getting a snarl from the tyrant lizard king, which made him jump slightly.
"I'm hearing the Royal Standard English dialect." Ford stated before looking thoughtful. "I wonder what's making it that way for me…" He mused.
"In any case, you should probably head to the Fossil Stadium for your license tests." Diggins said as the T-Rex turned into a medal and fell into Ford's hand.
"Right." The boy nodded as he left the room to do so.
(Elsewhere)
Back in Diggins' lab, Lee walked in with his own fossil rock not long after Ford left. The door opening prompted the scatterbrained ban to turn to him.
"Eh? Another one already?" The man blinked in surprise.
"Yeah. I'm sure you've met Ford already." Lee nodded. "I'm actually his twin brother." He added. "Stanley Owen, nice to meet you." He continued.
"You certainly sound like his brother." The turquoise haired man noted before spotting his own fossil rock. "And you brought your own fossil rock, too. Definitely his twin." He nodded.
"That's right." The boy nodded as he set the rock down. "So, I'm guessing you'll load this one up so I can clean it?" He questioned.
"That's right." Diggins nodded as he took the rock and got it loaded up. "Alright, let's see if you share Ford's fossil cleaning talent." He prompted.
"I'll be glad to demonstrate." Lee grinned as he got his cleaning kit ready.
Then he got to work, and true to Lee's word, he did share Ford's fossil cleaning talent. He showed the same careful technique and the same precision when he cleaned up the Velociraptor skull, something he acquired from years of practice. When he was done, a pristine Velociraptor skull greeted him, free of any and all damage.
"Very impressive." Diggins nodded as he took the fossil to revive it. "While we wait for your vivosaur to be revived, would you like to hear the story of how I became a Paleontologist in the first place?" He asked.
"... Sure. I could use a thing to help pass the time." The blue tipped man shrugged in reply.
"Alright then." The scientist nodded as he clapped his hands. "Now, picture this: A young Dr. Ulysses S. Diggins at age five, digging through his mother's garden…" The man began as he started telling his story.
(Elsewhere)
The purple haired lad sighed as he stretched after having completed his cleaning test, which he passed with flying colors—something that the test bot KK-3LN found astonishing. And was now headed to the arena doors to face off against his opponent. And his opponent was…
"You again?" Ford got out in surprise as he looked at Captain Travers.
"Nice to know that you haven't forgotten the one that brought you to this island." The man said with a grin. "So, you ready to have your first Fossil Battle?" He asked.
Ford dug into his pocket and pulled out his watch again and checked the time. "Yeah, but let's make this quick." He nodded. "I've got a date at six thirty, and I don't wanna be late." He added.
"Oh? Who's the lucky lady?" Tracers asked with a teasing look on his face as they walked to the arena.
"Don't push it. It's an apology date." Ford told him. As the two took their places at the opposite ends of the arena, Ford flipped his T-Rex's Dino Medal like a coin as the crowds cheered.
"Aaaaaand Welcome sports fans to another exciting day at the one of a kind Fossil Stadium. I'm your host, P.A. Leon and I'm joined by my trusty co-host, Slate Johnson." One of the announcers, a man with long brown hair and silver sunglasses said in an announcer's booth. His voice reminding Ford of Chris Parnell.
'Damn. This is intense.' Ford thought, but kept his cool. No reason to get nervous on his first fossil fight.
"Yes sir, we got ourselves a treat today. Because we're witnessing a newcomer's first battle." Slate, a man with frazzled hair nodded. "In the corner to my right, we have the town favorite Captain Travers." He continued to the applause of everyone present. "And to my left is the up and coming new Fossil Fighter initiate: Stanford Owen, or as he prefers to be called—so I'm being told—Ford, from Essex." He added.
Ford smirked as he got ready to send out his T-Rex partner. Once the signal was given, he sent him out. The Vivosaur roared to the air once he materialized from his medal.
This caused everyone to gasp, as none of them had seen a T-Rex that looked like that, nor had they seen one that had its typing. Indeed, instead of being a fire type like most of the Vivosaurs on the island—Ford's was an air type.
"Wow! Would you look at this, Slate? Not only does this rookie have a rare looking T-Rex, but it also has unique typing as well!" Leon exclaimed.
"Is that… an air type? That's a new one." Slate noted in surprise.
"So, that's what was inside that Fossil of yours." Travers notes. "Well, let's see how it does against mine!" He yelled as a blue and almost bird-like Pacheycefelosaur appeared as he threw his medal. It was a Goyo.
Since Ford's T-Rex—which he took to calling William, after one of England's many Kings—Was rank two and had a hundred Fossil Points, Travers was allowed to go first. Since he had less than him.
"Goyo, use Rock Head!" Travers called to his Vivosaur.
The Goyo attacked William with a headbutt, causing the carnivore to stagger back. As the air type creature recovered, he growled at his opponent.
Looking at the Jumbotron, Ford saw that the attack didn't do that much damage to the T-Rex. "Alright! Use Tyrant's Roar, William!" The boy yelled.
The beast then took a deep breath and roared loudly at Goyo and sent green shockwaves at the Vivosaur, which collided with it and sent it rolling backwards into the stadium wall.
"Ooh, now that's a devastating attack! There's no way that didn't hurt!" Leon exclaimed with a wince.
"They don't call the T-Rex the king for nothin', even with an abnormal typing, it's still able to wipe the floor with Goyo." Slate nodded. Back with said Vivosaur, Goyo struggled to get up before it shook itself free of its daze before pawing the ground.
"You're mine, lizard lips!" It squawked.
"You insolent little—!" William snarled.
"Hey!" Ford called to his partner, causing him to look back. "Go easy on him, just because he's smaller, doesn't mean you can push him around." He told him.
"No promises." William replied, not taking his eyes off his opponent. Blinking in slight confusion at the chatter that he couldn't understand, Travers gave his Vivosaur his next order.
"Goyo, use Rock Head again!" He exclaimed, prompting his partner to attack. However, right as the attack was about to land, William sidestepped it! "Huh?!" He gasped.
"Wow! Ford's T-Rex Just dodged that attack! Now Goyo is wide open!" Leon exclaimed.
As Goyo flew right past his target, William then turned his body into the curve and used his momentum to slam his tail into the smaller Vivosaur's midsection, which caused him to go flying and then skidding across the ground and stopping just short of Travers—transforming back into a medal.
"And that's the game." Ford smirked as William turned back into a medal and returned to him.

"—And I had to tell her why I was in the garden in the first place." The scatterbrained doctor finished telling his story to an utterly dumbfounded Stanley Owen.
"I… I…" He tried to say, but couldn't come up with anything to say to the absurd story he just heard.
"That Stegosaurus fossil is my most prized possession, and the Stegosaurus itself has always been my favorite dinosaur ever since." Diggins stated with a smile.
"… Okay, I'm not even going to touch the multitudes of absurdities there are in that story." Lee said as he waved the situation off.
"Not my problem." The man shrugged as the Vivosaur machine chimed. "Ah, it's done!" He exclaimed with a smile as he pressed a button and opened the door, allowing the new Vivosaur to step out.
Out stepped a Raptor around Lee's height with white scales, red stripes, a red underbelly, red feathers on its head and blue eyes. The creature looked around and eventually settled its gaze on Lee before…
"Remember, remember, the fifth of November." He spoke, his voice sounding like that of V from V for Vendetta.
"Well spoken." The twenty-two year old nodded.
"So you can talk with your Vivosaurs, too." Diggins noted. "Ford is the same way." He mused. "What was he saying?" He questioned.
"He decided to quote the typical Brit on Guy Foxes Night." Lee explained. "In fact…" He hummed as he turned to his Vivosaur. "I think I'll call you V." He added.
The newly minted V nodded in acceptance of his new name.
"Fascinating." Diggins said. "Like Ford's T-Rex, it was an alternative type as well. Your V-Raptor is a Fire type, not air like the others." He explained.
"Let's get ready to take on the future together, partner." Lee smiled as V turned into his medal form, allowing the man to take him and make his way to the Fossil Stadium to get his license.

After getting back to his room, and cleaning his new fossil to add to William, giving him the move Scare Tactics, Ford was now writing in his journal before his dinner date with Peggy.
Stopping for the time being, he set his fountain pen down and checked his watch. "Right, I should probably get going." He nodded as he got up.
Though a few thoughts did cross his mind, like what would happen if the two of them got along really well during this date?
He supposed that would be a good thing to ponder after everything was said and done, so he decided not to dawdle any longer, and headed out.
(Later)
Not long after defeating Capt. Travers and getting his gear and Fossil Fighting license as a result, Ford then decided that it was time to get the money that his dad sent him with into G-Coins. Vivosaur Island currently which were basically just gold coins about a gram in weight.
Right now, the one thousand pounds sterling that his father gave him, was now transferred into one hundred thousand G-Coins. Which Ford was now using at one of the stores–specifically to upgrade his Sonar and cleaning tools.
Said upgrades were the following: The mega hammer and drill, the Sonar Monitor Upgrade 3, the rock filter 2 and the fossil chip 2. All of these would help with his career considerably.
He made sure not to get anything else for the time being, though. He still had a date with Peggy, after all.
But just meant that he'd have better chances at getting more fossils, which meant a stronger team that he could use to get more gold, so not a bad trade.
'Now, where's Peggy at?' He wondered as he started looking around. As he continued walking around into the Island's recreational district, he soon saw Peggy standing in front of an establishment called the Fighter Den.
The place was a sort of special restaurant/casino joint that Fossil Fighters of all stripes usually congregated in. Indulging in everything from food and drink, to various sorts of games (gambling or otherwise) to just talking Fossil Battles while also watching and betting on them. Upon spotting him, the girl waved him over, prompting him to walk up to her.
"Hey, I was just looking for you. I managed to get some money converted into the local currency earlier so we can afford something good." Ford told her.
"Sweet. Anyway, I've decided that I want our little apology date to take place here." Peggy nodded, jutting a thumb at the hybrid building. "The restaurant is close to the top floor, and has a killer view of the ocean at sunrise." She added with a grin.
"Oh, now there's a sight I gotta see." The British man grinned in return as the two went inside.

"Here we are, folks, and welcome to another Fossil Fighting match!" Leon exclaimed.
"Our next Fossil Fighter, heralding from Essex just like Ford, it's Stanley Owen!" Slate exclaimed as the blue tipped man walked out with a grin on his face. "Or Lee, as I've heard he likes to be called." He added.
"Same last name, you think these two are probably brothers, Slate?" Leon questioned as Captain Travers entered the arena.
"Yes we are!" Lee called in reply.
"... Well, that answers that question." The commentator shrugged with a blink.
"Your brother was a tough one, Lee. Let's see if you're just like him." Trevors challenged.
"Game on, captain! Let's do this!" The blue tipped boy grinned in reply. "Alright, V, let's go!" He called as he sent his velociraptor out.
V let out a screech as he appeared, and was met with Trevors' Goyo coming out to meet him.
"Seems Lee has a unique Vivosaur as well." Leon noted.
"Let's see how good it is." Slate commented, wanting to see how V would perform.
"Goyo, use Rock Head!" Travers ordered, prompting the small herbivore to try slamming his head into V at high speeds.
However, unlike William, V was much faster and was able to dodge it, leaving Goyo to stagger at the lack of resistance.
"V, use Veloci-Claw!" He ordered, capitalizing on the opening.
The Dromaeosaur then leapt into the air and started slashing at Goyo—its claws ablaze with fire—and sending it rolling across the arena floor, and bonking itself on the adjacent wall—causing a mini explosion.
"That's gonna leave a mark!" Slate exclaimed with a wince.
Despite the devastating blow, Goyo still got back to its feet and was ready for more.
"Man, that's one persistent little fella." Lee commented, having expected his opponent's Viviosaur to be KOed after that attack.
"Use Rock Head again!" Travers ordered, prompting the dinosaur to do so again, and was evaded—again—but this time by V actually leapfrogging over the little creature and causing him to go head first into the wall.
That ended up being what sent the creature back into its medal form. Not an enemy attack, but its own headbutting tendencies.
"I don't even know what to say to that." Lee commented with a sweatdrop as he watched the Goyo go back to Trevors.
"And Lee wins! What a victory!" Leon exclaimed.

Meanwhile, with Ford and Peggy, the two were now walking into the Island casino and restaurant. Inside, the building looked like something you'd find in Vegas. It was fossil and dinosaur themed in gold and marble carved in the Italian baroque style.
It was embellished further with jewelified fossils and amber, and to top it all, had a large statue of a T-Rex and Triceratops carved out of polished marble.
The atmosphere very much screamed "Casino-Resort" with the sound of cocktail shakers, sliding glasses on bars, clinking of ice on glass, and the sound of every gambling game–from the shuffling of cards, toppling of chips and rolling of dice, to the tossing of roulette and the ding dong of a slot machine–all sung in the air like a symphony of opulent hubris geared to the tunes of a congregation of competitive and crazed paleo maniacs.
In other words? It was a Dino-enthusiast's dream hall.
"Now this is what I'm talking about." Ford grinned as he looked around.
"I know how you feel. We can worry about this stuff later, though. We wanna go to the twelfth floor since the restaurant is up there." Peggy told him.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go." The pro-carnivore Fossil Fighter nodded before the two went to an elevator and called it to them. A minute or so later, the two were now at where they needed to be, where a receptionist waited for them.
"Hello there, you two." The man greeted them. "Welcome to Fossil Feast, one of the best eateries on the island." He added.
"Charmed, mate." Ford nodded. "We'll take a table for two, near the window, if possible." He added.
"Of course. Right this way." The man nodded as he led them to a table next to a window, giving them a spectacular view of the sea. "A waiter will be with you in a few minutes." He told them.
"Thanks." Peggy nodded as she and Ford sat down. As the two sat in relative silence, Ford decided to start a conversation while they waited for their waiter.
"So I hear that Fossil Fighters here tend to move up in the ranks through a sort of level system. That true?" He asked the woman opposite him.
"That's right." The pink clad female nodded. "At rank one, you don't have much going for you. But as you climb through the ranks, people start noticing you and such. Especially when you have a strong fossil team." She explained further.
"Okay, and what kind of things does it give you? Climbing up the ranks, I mean?" The young man questioned.
"Well, rewards vary." The girl shrugged. "There's of course gaining access to one of the different dig sites with each rank. Then there's the rank specific ones." She continued.
"Like…?" Ford prompted, wanting to know more.
"Well, for a Rank 1 like you, you'll be able to enjoy the majority of the things in this building free of charge, save for perhaps the bar and restaurant." Peggy explained. "Rank 2 and 3 gives you access to the exclusive mid to high rank spa and an upgraded suite on the hotel's third level." She continued. Ranks 4 and 5 give you access to an even better suite and even access to a section of the island where you can build a permanent residence." She added. "Rank 6 gives you a personal small island off the main island's coast, and access to a high rise bar at the very top of this same building." She added. "And finally Master Fighters get all these perks, as well as access to the Master Suites that are at the top of the Hotel and are basically like a mini mansion the size of a condo." She finished.
There was a pause as she caught her breath and their waiter brought them their menus and glasses of water while they decided on drinks.
"There's more rewards, but those are just some I can remember off the top of my head." The girl amended.
"That's a lot of good stuff, not gonna lie. Just about everybody must be vying for Master rank." Ford remarked with a chuckle.
"I mean, you aren't wrong." Peggy nodded with her own chuckle. The two then began to take a look at their menus to see what they would want to order for a drink.
A few minutes later, Ford decided on a Gin and Tonic while Peggy went with a brandy. When their waiter came by again, the two gave their orders and then went about ordering their food, the meat of which caught the British boy's carnivorous eye.
The one that caught his eye the most was the Turf N' Turf, which consisted of two plates of meat cooked to the customer's choice accompanied by mashed russet potatoes. The image made them look very delicious to him. He knew what he was getting.
Peggy, meanwhile, opted to order a rack of lamb chops with a mint ceviche. A choice she concluded would pair well with her brandy.
As they waited for their food to arrive, Ford decided to try and start another conversation with the girl in front of him.
"So, what brings you here from the Isles anyway?" He asked.
"I was driven by a sense of adventure. The Isles didn't appeal to me all that well, and felt boring, so I decided to come to Vivosaur Island hoping to find what I was looking for." The pink clad woman responded before grinning. "And I got it." She added. "You?"
"I came here after my parents helped me get what I needed to do so." The purple and gray haired teen said. "I also came here because…" He trailed off for a moment. "Because I'm looking for my mother." He added.
"Huh?" Peggy uttered in mild surprise. "Your mom went missing? What happened?" She asked in concern.
"That's the thing, my dad, sister, brother and I have no idea. She just left home for work one day and never came back." Ford explained. "That was five years ago. But, after some digging, I found something that belonged to her that sent me and Lee on our investigation."
"What was it?" The woman asked curiously. The boy then reached underneath his shirt and pulled out what looked to be some sort of golden pentagon shaped amulet with a sort of gem in the center that looked like a crystallized microchip.
"I tried seeing what it was, but whatever it is, it's broken." He said before hiding it again.
"And by the look of it, fixing it is gonna be a chore." Peggy noted, believing that if the gem wouldn't be easy to fix… Presuming it even was fixable, that is.
"Well whatever it is, it's what my mom left me before she disappeared. And I'm gonna keep searching until I find her–even if it's the last thing I do." Ford nodded as their food arrived.
"Ya know what? I think I'll see what I can do to help out." Peggy decided. She refused to let her new friend search for his mother alone, and wanted to be there right by him when he found her.
"Thanks. I really can't say how much I appreciate that." The man smiled as they started eating, with Ford himself feeling his taste buds scream in joy as the meat's flavor hit them. "Whoa, that's seriously good. What do they cook this in?" He wondered as he looked at the menu again. "Cooked to preference, dry aged, seasoned with salt, pepper, freshly crushed garlic and butter basted with fresh rosemary." He read.
"Now that's definitely worth the thirty G price tag." Peggy chuckled.
"Considering how it tastes. I agree." Ford nodded as he continued eating.
Then they saw Lee fighting in the Fossil Stadium. Ford was immediately focused on his brother's performance.
"Damn, my bro got a kickass V-Raptor." He whistled as he looked at his brother's Vivosaur.
"Smart too." Peggy nodded.
The two watched as V attacked and sent Trevors' Goyo flying, which made Ford smile seeing that his brother was having a ball. Then the Goyo charged again, and the two watched as V leapfrogged over it and KO itself against the wall.
"Ooh, that had to hurt!" Peggy commented with a wince.
"But my bro got his license! Woo!" Ford cheered, happy his brother got his license.
"So… Your brother. How's he feel about the investigation you're putting together?" The Scottish girl asked.
"He's actually helping me out." The purple eyed man replied. "He hid it well, but he was pretty beat up about mom disappearing like she did. When he found out about my investigation, he wanted to help out to speed things up." He added.
"You… You think he'll be able to forgive her for disappearing?" The redhead questioned.
"He's angry and sad about her vanishing, yeah, but he rationalized that he'll be calm again when he gets answers." The Welsh boy told her in reply.
"Hope that turns out to be true…" Peggy sighed as the two continued eating, enjoying a rather uneventful rest of their meal.

Lee smiled as he looked down at his newly obtained Fighter's license, and the V-Raptor leg fossil he got from Travers, heading towards the Fossil Center.
On his way there, though, he bumped into someone, causing them to yelp as they fell to the ground while Lee merely staggered.
"Ah shite, I'm sorry. I was focused on my recent winnings." The man apologized as he held out a hand.
"I was lost in thought myself, so no harm done." A female voice replied as the taller Essex man got a good look at the apparent woman that he bumped into.
She looked like she was a year younger than him, around twenty-one, by his estimates. She had skin that was slightly pale, long flowing blonde hair and blue eyes and an alluringly voluptuous figure with a DD-cup bosom. Her attire consisted of a rather nice looking white sundress, a pair of matching gloves, and high heels.
She was beautiful, quite beautiful, in fact. That was something the young man could see clear as day—but that wasn't what grabbed his attention.
Rather, it was the amulet around her neck, one that looked all too familiar to him.
"Can I know who you are?" The woman questioned.
"Stanley Own, but I prefer Lee." The blue tipped man replied.
"Duna." The blonde replied. "Again, sorry about bumping into you, but I have business to address." She told him before she continued on her way.
"No worries!" He called after her before he continued back to the fossil center.
When he arrived, he took a moment to do some thinking about the necklace Duna wore.
'That necklace Duna wore, it looked like an undamaged version of mom's.' He noted. 'Could she be connected to her disappearance…? Was mom a part of some secret group or something?' He wondered.

Back at the restaurant, after their meal, Ford and Peggy decided to go to the downstairs bar and have a few more drinks. And it was at this point that both then proceeded to become a bit inebriated.
"Ugh… I don't feel so hot…" Ford groaned as he held his head. Peggy then leaned on him a bit for support as they stumbled towards the hotel together.
"Trust me, love. You're just fine." The girl chuckled, her face slightly pink from currently being tipsy.
"I doubt it…" The Essex boy groaned as the two stumbled into the elevator, Ford barely having enough mental processing to hit the button to his floor. When they arrived, they stumbled into his room before they started making out drunkenly, their kisses sloppy.
"Hehehe, come here you." Peggy purred as she fell onto Ford's bed and pulled him down with her.
"Whoa!" The young man gasped as he was pulled onto the bed before clothes started flying everywhere–followed by the lights going out.

Lee sighed as he laid down on his bed, looking at V's medal after improving it with his Leg fossils—stroking the coin with his thumb.
'Not bad for a punk from Swansea.' The young man smiled as he set it on his nightstand before turning out his lights… And soon could hear the sound of springs bouncing from the room beside him—his brother's room.
"Yes, Ford! Like that!" Peggy's voice moaned.
'Damn it, bro! What the fuck did I tell you about getting drunk?!' The brown eyed man thought in irritation as his brow twitched. There was only one logical explanation Ford would jump to third base with a girl after a day.
He then grabbed his pillow and turned over, covering his ears and closing his eyes tightly.
This was gonna be a long night for him…
(The next day)
Ford woke up with a groan, blinking his tired eyes as he came to and sat up holding his head. The beginning symptoms of a hangover were just settling in, and the lad felt like a right mess.
Seconds later though, he heard a rustle next to him and turned to see… A naked Peggy sleeping right next to him with a smile on her face.
'Oh yeah… We got wasted.' He remembered.
"Mmmm, so full…" The girl sighed blissfully as she rolled over, showing that her lower mouth was… rather full, for lack of a better term.
The two had evidently done the deed in their drunken state, and his—new—girlfriend didn't seem to complain. Though he did wonder if he'd accidentally knocked her up, to which he hoped not. It was too soon for that.
Peggy slowly woke up herself as she sat up and stretched, her hair a mess and her round and perky breasts bouncing in the morning light.
"*Yawn* Oh, that was nice." She yawned before turning an alluring eye at the boy beside her. "You know, if you liked me that much, you could have just said so. I would have suggested we skip the drinks and get right down to the fun stuff." She purred, turning to face him and getting in close.
"Well, they were good drinks, so…" Ford trailed off as he wrapped an arm around her waist.
"Touche." Peggy conceded with a shrug. She then closed the gap between them and locked her lips to his, the two giving each other a passionate French kiss. "Bloody hell, my last boyfriend never kissed me that well." She gasped as they separated.
"Was he good in the sheets?" The purple haired boy asked, kissing her neck.
"Good? Yes. Did he shag me to the point that I lost all feelin' from the waist down? Not even close." The girl responded.
"Did I do that, then?" The young man asked as one of his hands kneaded her right breast, causing her to moan.
"Oh yeah, in fact, I think some parts of my brain still haven't come back online after the fucking you gave it." The redhead moaned as she held him to her chest. "It's definitely a great plus that you're a nice guy too." She added.
"Well that's good to hear." Ford smiled as he got up and picked her up bridal style. "Up for another round in the shower?" He offered.
"Oh yeah. Let's go." Peggy grinned, and just like that, the two went into the bathroom and got the shower running. The girl then took a bottle of body wash and squirted it onto her front and then started rubbing herself against Ford's body.
"You know, none of my exes ever did what you're doing. You should be proud of yourself." The man remarked, enjoying the feeling of his girlfriend rubbing herself against him.
"Seems that we're pretty compatible, doesn't it?" Peggy purred as she moved down as they started lathering and began wrapping her breasts around the boy's ten inch rod.
"What're you–getting at?" The boy gasped.
"That we should skip the 'friends with benefits' angle and take our successful first date as a sign to just hook up." She replied, continuing to work his dick with her tits. "What do you think? I personally like the idea of trying out being your girlfriend."
"Ya know what, you being my girlfriend sounds pretty good." The man smiled as he rubbed her hair. "It certainly helps that you're really fun to be around." He added.
"Aw, thanks." Peggy giggled as Ford reached full mast.
"Seriously?" Ford gasped before groaning as he climaxed.
"What can I say? I like what I like. Especially when it's good." She giggled as she 'cleaned' herself off. "Mmmmmmm. And the fact you taste good proves my point." She added with a purr. "So thick and warm."
"Glad you like it." The boy growled as he grabbed her and forced her around and made her press against the shower wall, hands holding her up as he wet her hair, dug into it with shampoo covered hands–and then slammed himself into her.
"Oh fuck yeah!" The woman gasped as she was fucked from behind while her hair was washed–the massaging adding to her pleasure. This was certainly a fun way to start the day.
"Oh God you're so bloody tight!" Ford groaned as he pulled her against his chest, washing out her hair as he pounded her. "Was your last boyfriend as big as me?" He questioned.
"No! He was way smaller! You're much bigger than he was!" Peggy moaned as her legs wobbled.
"Mmm, how big a difference?" The boy growled, holding her to his chest by her neck.
"Six inches and two! His dick was practically a fucking pencil compared yours!" The girl moaned as she started getting an ahegao face, Ford holding her mouth open with his finger as her tongue wagged around like a dog's.
"Only a day, and you're mine now! You're my bitch!" He growled as he kept railing her.
"Yes… mastah…!" Peggy slurred as she went cross eyed, her legs giving out and forcing Ford to fuck her doggy style as he kept washing her hair for a few more moments before letting the water wash out the shampoo.
"Peggy, I'm going to—!" Ford groaned as he kept going for several more minutes.
"P-Pull out!" She gasped. Sure, she enjoyed how full she was with his spunk earlier, but that wasn't a reason to risk pregnancy. Thankfully, Ford heeded her words and pulled out right as he climaxed again.
"Oh yeah…" The boy sighed as they cleaned themselves off and got out of the shower and dried each other off.
(Later)
When the two walked out of their room, they were met with an irate Lee waiting for them.
"... You heard us last night didn't you?" Ford asked, knowing there was only one possible way for him to get such a look.
"Yes I did." The taller sibling snapped in reply. "Seriously, bro; getting drunk on and screwing a girl without even waiting a month? What the fuck, dude?!" He ranted.
"Aw lay off! It ain't wrong that your brother knows what he likes." Peggy countered, sticking her tongue out at the taller guy as she hugged Ford around the neck.
"Well it's wrong that you two kept me awake for three and a half hours before I could finally fall asleep!" The taller sibling snapped in irritation.
"You'll be in the same position when you find your own lass. Trust me." The redhead said as the group went to get breakfast.
"Doubtful…" Lee sighed as they all sat down.
Dragon Emperor0: Well, everyone, here it is. After several weeks of replanning, revising, and rewriting, we've finally managed to fully reboot Vivosaur Island Chronicles and turn it into an even better story than what the original was–if I do say so myself.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah, and we have a lot to show for it with new pairings, team rosters and other things. We did keep some stuff from the original iteration of the story, though, particularly the comedic stuff. It should feel familiar to the people who read the original.
Dragon Emperor0: Yeah, for those of you who liked the original—don't worry—this story is still basically like 85-95% original text, so it's still very much the same story in spirit if not in exact form. Additionally, meet the new secondary protagonist of the story: Stanley Owen. For those of you who like Gravity Falls, I hope this tickled your fancy.
ThermalsniperN7: My intent is to make Stanley (or Lee, as we prefer) deceptively observant, kinda like Sans from Undertale. Please give us feedback and let us know if this was executed properly.
Dragon Emperor0: Chapters will be posted daily until the last prewritten chapter has been posted, then this story will go on a bit of a hiatus so that we can take a much deserved break from Fossil Fighters and plan out the next chapter in detail.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah. We need a break after all this. Anyway, see you next time.
