Chapter 10: Shippo Introduction Arc
AN: Raiza=Hiten.Hiroi = Manten(not that it really matters since its only for this chapter and the next).
Kazuki winced as he heard that sound for what felt like the hundredth time that afternoon. It wasn't coming from him, that he knew. It was actually coming from the half-demon who was walking ahead of him, while Myoga was perched on her shoulder. Inuyasha scowled, her arms folded inside her sleeves while she grumbled in her throat...just like her empty stomach.
"You should really eat something," Kazuki said
"You think I don't know that by now?!" Inuyasha replied irritably. It had been 3 days since they had left the village and she hadn't eaten anything since she had left with Kazuki from his world.
"Well, now's as good a time as any to eat," Kazuki said, before he put a hand on his backpack, which was sitting on the back of his bicycle, reaching into it and pulling out a cup of instant noodles along with a small portable campfire stove.
"Huh?" Inuyasha asked before she took the cup from Kazuki . "What's this thing?" She then sniffed it. "...It smells like there's food in there." She then tried to bite it into the plastic covering but found her efforts fruitless. "Dammit, what is this? I can't get the food out!"
"It's called instant noodles."
"Instant noodles?" Inuyasha repeated.
"Is this one of your foods from your time period, Kazuki?" Myoga asked.
"It is, but you need to cook it first though." Kazuki replied.
"Cook it how?" Inuyasha inquired.
A few minutes later the noodles were ready and Kazuki handed Inuyasha the cup.
"This is good!" Inuyasha exclaimed as she ate some instant noodles, she tried to restrain herself and eat it in small, slow bites but in the end gave up, "this is really good! I can see how this would catch on."
"I'm glad you like them and all… but how can you eat in a place like this?" Kazuki asked motioning to the field littered with the skeletons of battle and crows picking at what remained of the flesh on the fallen. But he seemed more impressed at the fact she was eating the freshly
"Place like what?" Inuyasha replied, unfazed by the sight around them, she had grown up in a world where corpses littering the ground was rather common.
"Never mind," Kazuki said with a sigh. It would be pointless to continue the conversation with someone who took sights like this as common, but it still surprised him by how calm Inuyasha was around the corpses. Sure he had already been in the Feudal Era for a while now and had seen corpses of demons and even a few humans, but it still freaked him out . As he looked at the half-demon girl in front of him, he barely noticed the gradual darkening of the sky until everything was black. "What the-?" Kazuki asked, confused at the sudden darkness.
"This is Fox Magic," Myoga said as a swirling cloud appeared before them, "Be ready for anything."
"You, there...!" a voice called. "You possess shards of the Shikon Jewel...!"
"Who are you?! Show yourself!" Inuyasha questioned as she tried to sense the location of the demon.
"A demon?" Kazuki asked as the swirling cloud expanded into a large pink ball-like figure.
"The jewel shards…" The ball said as the three of them stared at it dumbfounded, "Give them to me." It stated with full conviction in its voice, unaware at how unimpressed or unfazed the two were by the appearance of the ball. As the moments passed the ball came to realize the lack of an impression that it had made "I'll kill you!" it roared as Inuyasha slowly walked towards the ball and whacked it as hard as she could after rubbing her temples.
As the illusion of the ball dissipated a small wisp of cloud shot off and landed in the remains littered across the field. Walking over to where it landed the trio of Myoga, Inuyasha, and Kazuki saw a small child rubbing its cheek in pain.
"Owowowow!" the child moaned as it tended to the large red mark on his face.
"A kid?" Kazuki asked incredulously.
"How dare you!" the boy shouted, only to gasp as he saw Inuyasha reach down for him. He tried to scamper away, but the half-demon managed to grab him by the tail and hold him up in the air.
"A tail? Are you a Tanuki or somethin'?" she asked as she poked the child's tail.
"I'm a fox!" the boy yelled at Inuyasha.
"What do you think we should do with him?" Inuyasha asked Kazuki, who shrugged When she turned back to the fox, she immediately noticed it missing, a Jizo statue of sorts having taken the fox child's place. Looking around, Kazuki and Inuyasha saw the fox on top of the modern boy's backpack, rummaging through it.
"Hey!" Kazuki shouted as the fox boy threw things left and right as he searched through the bag.
"Got it!" The fox boy exclaimed as he pulled a small bottle from the pack containing shards of the Shikon Jewel inside of it, "Fragments of the Shikon Jewel!" Jumping into the air a swirl of clouds began to form behind the fox once again, "The shards are mine now! Farewell!" the fox boy yelled as he vanished from sight.
"Hey, he's gone." Kazuki said as the fox boy vanished from sight.
"Not quite…" Inuyasha said as she pointed to a bouncing skull with a tail attempting to bounce away, "Leave this to me." She said as she walked towards the skull and picked it up by the tail, "Are you going to change back or do I have to hit you again?" she asked as she held the skull in the air.
"Fine!" the skull yelled as it shifted back to his true form and sat down, Inuyasha taking the bottle from him in the process. "My name is Shippo." The fox boy said as it looked at them.
"I'm Kazuki and she's Inuyasha." Kazuki said pointing at the half demon girl, "so why were you after the jewel shards?"
"I want revenge on my father's murderer," Shippo said determinedly.
"So he was murdered?" Kazuki asked.
"Yes...my Father's dead"
I see now," said Inuyasha as she held the bottle with the shards inside. "He's not strong enough to take on his enemies on his own, so he tried to use the shards to make himself more powerful...what an idiot."
"Even without borrowing their power I'm still strong…" Shippo said defiantly, "However…"
"Hold on a sec!" Kazuki said, realizing Inuyasha had the jewel shards, "Why are you carrying the jewel shards?" Kazuki asked as he swiped the bottle back.
"I wasn't gonna use them!" Inuyasha argued.
"Hey! Are you two even listening!" Shippo said, snapping their attention back to him.
Meanwhile, miles away, two armies faced each other, another battle between feudal lords ensuing to determine territory. As the battle raged a loud boom in the clouds above caused the men on both sides to stop and look around. In the distance, high in the sky, two figures moved towards the warring battalions at a pace unmatched by anything human.
"Something's coming," One of the soldiers said as two figures approached riding on a cloud.
The first had the appearance of a young woman and looked to be about Inuyasha's age, maybe a bit older. She had tanned skin and red eyes, as well as long, black hair that was tied up in a braided ponytail, along with short bangs in front of her forehead. She had some elaborate, orange-colored armor spiked shoulder plates on his shoulders and had a light blue kimono underneath, she also wore several light blue sashes around her waist and torso.
The second, had a more reptilian appearance with a large, bald head that only had three strands of hair and a ponytail, just like the first demon. She, too, had some elaborate armor, only it was blue, and she had purple sashes around her body...as well as a fox pelt tied around her waist.
"Let's hunt Hiroi!" The more human looking of the two demons yelled as she spun a long spear in her hands.
"Of course, Sister Raiza!" the more demonic looking one said as she pushed down on the cloud she rode on with both his hands.
In one movement from the two, more than half of both factions were slaughtered, their bodies torn asunder in a feat of inhuman strength and bloodshed. As the commanders of one of the armies looked on, riding high on their horses, a sense of dread washed over them.
"Wha…" one of the commanders choked out at the sight of the dead.
"D-Demons?!" The other yelled, surprised to see demons attacking the battle as the demons laughed at the carnage they caused.
"Hn?" The demonic one mused as she saw the commanders. As she opened her mouth fully, a surge of electrical energy formed in the opening. With a loud roar, the energy shot forth, devastating everything in its path leaving no trace of the two commanders or the army they once led.
"Ah… such fun, eh Hiroi?" Raiza said as she flew back up after killing the other army commanders.
"It sure was Raiza!" Hiroi laughed as she grabbed an arm from the battle and ate the flesh from it.
"It's like I can't stop the flow of power in me!" Raiza laughed as she pointed at the three jewel shards embedded in her forehead, "Must be because of the Sacred Jewel fragments in my forehead! Let's collect even more Hiroi!" Raiza yelled as she sped off, her sister following behind her.
"Yeah! We'll waste them all, just like that fox demon from the other day!" Hiroi roared as she raced after her older sister.
As Inuyasha and Kazuki continued traveling, listening to Shippo's tale, their interest peaked by the fox demon's words.
"So...the reason why they killed your father," Kazuki began while he was pedaling his bike, "was because he had shards of the Sacred Jewel?"
"Those guys," Shippo struggled to keep his anger under control as he thought of his dead father and those who killed him. "They go around killing demons who carry them."
"Those guys?" Kazuki asked, wondering who exactly Shippo meant.
"The Thunder Sisters…" Shippo answered as he clenched both his teeth and fists.
"Thunder Sisters?" Inuyasha asked, having never heard of them herself.
"Raiza and Hiroi, you mean…" Myoga said knowing full well who they were, "I hear they are hopelessly violent siblings, but… I've never heard of them being very powerful…"
"No matter, all I gotta do is defeat them and their jewel shards are mine." Inuyasha said confidently.
"Heh!" Shippo scoffed, "Don't make me laugh! A nothing like you doesn't stand a chance against an opponent like them!" a haughty attitude rang through his voice.
"What was that?" Inuyasha asked, confused by the change in the boy's attitude.
"You're a half demon…" Shippo glared at Inuyasha, "your stench is mixed with humans." The words struck a nerve deep within the demon girl. "As a contemptibly inferior half-breed, you've got no business butting into a fight between demons." he stuck his nose up into the air at the thought of accepting a half demon's help.
"Shippo," Kazuki leered back at the young demon, unable to understand his change in attitude. "You shouldn't say that-" his words were cut off as a loud slap filled the air.
"That should teach you a lesson" Inuyasha said, her hand still in the air ready to slap him again if needed.
"Forgive me!" Shippo bowed,"By way of apology…" Shippo continued as he reached into his clothes. Pulling a statue from seemingly nowhere, he placed it on Inuyasha's hand, sticking a seal on it afterwards. "I hate to commit violence against a lady so that will have to do for now. Unless that seal is removed, that statue can't be moved!" Shippo yelled as jumped backwards, "As for you…" he turned to Kazuki, a devious expression on his face, "I'll have you sleep for a while!" his voice rang out as he leapt at the human boy and hit him on the back of his neck.
"That didn't even hurt!" Kazuki said, catching Shippo mid-air.
"Eep." Shippo gulped before freeing himself from Kazuki's grip, "Fox Magic!" he yelled as the swirling smoke surrounded him again. As Kazuki stared at the mist to keep an eye on Shippo, he didn't notice until after he leapt past him that Shippo had stolen the
shards. Again.
"Hey!" Kazuki yelled as he grabbed his bow and quiver and ran after Shippo.
"I'll lure the Thunder Sisters with this…" Shippo said as he ran off.
"Come back here!" Kazuki shouted chasing after Shippo, "You're making me angry!"
"Hey!" Inuyasha yelled out, stuck in place, "You cant just leave me stuck like this. Wait! Kazuki!" But it was already too late, he was gone.
Near a river not too far from where Shippo and Kazuki had run towards, Hiroi, the younger of the two thunder sisters, sat near a pond staring at her reflection.
"Oh, my hair…" she said as she patted her head, that had only 3 hairs "If only I had a bit more, I would be popular with the men just like Sister Raiza …" as she stared some more at her reflection, she suddenly looked up completely alert.
Hiding amongst the grass and reeds, Shippo quietly crept about, holding the bottle with the Sacred Jewel shards in his hands."I'm not being chased, am I?" Shippo asked himself unaware how close he was to one of the thunder sisters.
"Hmmm…." Hiroi said as she peered over the tall grass at Shippo, "Well now … if it isn't the brat of the fox from the other day…"
"What do you want?" Shippo shook with fear at the sight of his father's killer. His fear slowly dissolved, turning to shock as he saw what the demon wore around its waist, "Ah!"
"Your father's pelt…" Hiroi laughed, patting the fox demon's fur, "It's nice and warm!"
"You… you bastard!" Shippo yelled, the tears welling up in his eyes, "How dare you do that to my father… How dare you!" his voice echoed through the area as he rushed the thunder demon thoughts of revenge in his mind. But as he prepared to attack, Hiroi swatted him down like a gnat the bottle holding the jewels falling next to him.
"A shard of the Shikon Jewel." Hiroi said as she looked down at the fox demon, "Give it here! Cuz if you don't…" she began preparing an energy blast in his mouth.
"Ah crap…!" Shippo cried as he struggled to get up, only to see an arrow go through the thunder demon's face near its nose.
"Alright, it hit!" Kazuki said triumphantly. Capitalizing on the distraction, he prepped another arrow with newfound confidence, "Don't move!" he commanded as he aimed the bow, "Or the next one will go through your head!"
As Kazuki stood in confidence in his bid to save Shippo, Inuyasha was finding difficulties attempting to convince nearby farmers to remove the seal.
"Don't run away!" Inuyasha cried out, "Please remove this scroll! It's not like I'm gonna eat you!" she yelled as yet another farmer ran off.
"Demon!" the farmer screamed as he ran off back towards his village.
"Don't move!" Kazuki repeated as the thunder demon struggled with the arrow in its nose.
"K-Kazuki…" Shippo was surprised to see the human boy helping him after what he did to him and Inuyasha. "That's one of the Thunder Sisters!"
'That's a girl?' Kazuki thought surprised.
"My… my nose…" Hiroi cried as she struggled with the arrow.
"Shippo, get over here and bring the jewel shards with you." Kazuki ordered, snapping the fox boy out of it, struggling to his feet and start running towards him.
"You scum…!" Hiroi roared as she began to chase after the small fox demon, "Give me those jewel shards!"
"Kazuki!" Shippo yelled out, realizing he couldn't outrun her.
'Those two shards on her forehead…' Kazuki though as he pulled back on the bowstring, 'If I can just shoot them…' he focused as he released the string sending the arrow flying through the air and chopping off all but one of the three hairs atop Hiroi's head.
'Darn, I only grazed her.'
Stopping at the sight of two hairs falling to the ground, Hiroi slowly reached her hands to the top of her head to check her hairs. As she did she realized her worst fears were right. "My haaaaaair!" Hiroi screamed as tears rain down her cheeks.
"Eh…?" Kazuki was confused at the demon's reaction.
"How… dare… you…" Hiroi wheezed out as she prepared her energy blast once again.
"Come on, we gotta go!" Shippo yelled as he ran towards Kazuki, "My father was taken out by that!" he shouted and Kazuki started to run for it as well. Hiroi then launched the blast as it roared behind him, Kazuki grabbed Shippo and threw him to the grass, out of its path. Kazuki barely managed to dodge the blast, the shockwave of it sending him forward, and hitting his head, making him fall unconscious.
"Hah… hah… hah…" Hiroi breathed heavily as she looked at the small crater she had created, seeking the corpses of the boy and the fox, "Did I get em?" She asked as he sought out their bodies.
"Kazuki!" Shippo said as quietly as he could, "Hang in there!" He tugged at his clothes attempting to bring him back to consciousness. As he did, the sounds of grass moving told him the thunder demon was closing in and he had to make a choice.
"Hmm…" Hiroi said as he saw Kazuki laying in the tall grass, unconscious. "What the… Just the boy?" She asked herself again as she looked for the fox. Realizing the futility she took her first good look at the boy, "He's… handsome…" she blushed as she picked him up, summoning forth her cloud. As she flew off Shippo watched as they vanished into the distance.
Shippo gazed at the sky ashamed of himself, 'He saved me… I have to return the favor. But how? I don't stand a chance against the Thunder Sisters,' he thought, angry at his own powerlessness, 'Cr… crap… I need help…' Shippo knew what he needed to do as he ran back to where Inuyasha was.
"Uuungh!" Myoga grunted as he attempted to remove the seal, "It's no use, Lady Inuyasha… I can't remove the seal."
"Just wait until I get my hands on that kid." Inuyasha muttered angrily.
"Hey!" Shippo yelled at the half demon, "I'll remove the seal from you if you promise not to hurt me!"
"Why are you alone?" Inuyasha asked as she looked at the fox child. As she stared at his face, she knew something was wrong, "What happened to Kazuki?"
"Do you promise or not?!" Shippo demanded trying to hide his guilt.
"...Ok, I promise I won't hurt you." Inuyasha replied
Shippo nodded and removed the seal and the statue transformed into a smaller version of itself and he caught it, "Now, as I was saying-" he began but then got whacked in the head multiple times. "Didn't you say you wouldn't hurt me?" Shippo rubbed his head which now had a few visible bruises.
"Oh, yeah, that reminds me… " Inuyasha then picked Shippo by his tail and began to shake him up and down, causing him to let out an undulating cry as various items dropped, like leaves, acorns, and tiny statues, before finally, the bottle that contained the Sacred Jewel shards fell out. "At least they didn't get the jewel shards." Inuyasha said triumphantly dropping Shippo back on the ground.
"Will you worry about those stupid shards later?!" Shippo yelled. "I need your help! Kazuki's been taken by one of the Thunder Sisters!"
"You met them…Those are your father's killers, right?" Inuyasha asked as she glared at him, "Did you just sit and watch as they took him?" She then bent down and looked at him. "You're not exactly reeking of victory. What did you do, hide in the grass while they made off with him?"
"Shut up! I don't see YOU rushing off to help him!" Shippo yelled. "After all, he's YOUR man, isn't he?!"
Inuyasha flushed a bit red at that statement, but then she growled and whacked Shippo on the head, again. "He aint my man, you little punk! He's my friend and that's it! And if anything it's probably YOUR fault he got caught in the first place!"
I...I...!" Shippo stammered...but then he looked down to the ground. "...Y...you're right...this is my fault." He then began to sniffle. "I know I talk big...but the truth is...when I saw Hiroi, I froze and ran away with my tail between my legs. Kazuki was brave enough to try and save me, but instead, he got abducted!" He sobbed quietly as he dropped on his hands and knees. "I'm sorry, Inuyasha...please, you gotta help me save him."
"...Please help me…I don't know what else to do!"
"What are you groveling for?" Inuyasha said, holding Kazuki's bike over her shoulder, "Let's go."
Far off in what could only be called an abandoned feudal mansion situated in the mountains, Kazuki slowly rose from his state of unconsciousness. "Ugh…" he groaned as he sat up, the Thunder Demon Hiroi standing nearby, cooking something in a pot.
"Hmm?" Hiroi hummed as she heard him, "You're awake…"
'What is this place?' Kazuki's mind raced as he saw the large human sized pot before Hiroi, "Hey, you're not gonna eat me, are you?"
"Nothing like that…" Hiroi chuckled as she looked at Kazuki, "I've heard that a young man's flesh is good for the hair. I'm going to boil you down and rub you on my head." Her voice exuded confidence as she pointed at the last remaining hair on her head.
"Wha…" Kazuki stuttered, Hiroi's words stopping his train of thought before, "That's… the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!" He shouted, not liking the thought of being used as shampoo.
"Shh!" Hiroi hushed him, "Don't shout. If sister Raiza discovers you, you'll really be eaten." He tried to keep quiet as a loud smash came, the door torn of its hinges and broken into pieces.
"What's this," Raiza stood in the ruins of the door, a demon man at her side, "You've come back, eh Hiroi?" She mused as she saw her sister.
"There's not much resemblance between you, is there?" the demon man laughed as he saw Hiroi.
'This one looks more human…' Kazuki thought as he saw the rather beautiful Raiza, 'Maybe I can communicate with her.'
"Hmm? What's with the boy?" Raiza asked as she saw Kazuki.
"Thi…this one's my spoils!" Manten stuttered trying to keep Raiza from Kazuki.
"Relax, I won't take him…" she laughed as she turned towards the demon man, "Not when I have this hunk right here…right love?"
"Heh…" the demon man shrugged at her statement.
"That aside…" Raiza turned back to her sister, "Did you find some new Shikon Fragments?" She asked slyly, looking at her sister who treid to act innocent.
"Eh… oh dear…" Hiroi realized she had forgotten the jewel shards, "That's right… I… I'm sorry… I did find some, but, uh…"
"What d'ya mean, 'but'?" Raiza asked, her eyes narrowing on her younger sister, "It couldn't be that you were more dazzled by this boy than you were by the jewel shard?" She glared as she saw the expression on Hiroi's face. "Don't tell me you let them get away?" She yelled, slamming her fist through the demon man's head, killing him.
"I'm sorry!" Hiroi backed up, frightened of her sister's temper.
"Tch… Guess there's nothing for it…" Raiza sighed angrily as the man's body fell to the ground.
'She's even more dangerous than the other one,' Kazuki thought as he saw the lifeless body fall.
"Where is the shard?" Raiza asked glaring at Hiroi.
"The fox's kid has it…" Hiroi said as he gulped down her own words.
"What?!" Raiza roared "That brat has a shikon fragment?!"
"Are we going to go after them?" Hiroi asked as she slowly regained her nerve.
"Of course we are." Raiza replied as if it was obvious, "Let's go."
'Now's my chance to escape.' Kazuki thought as he shuffled out of the rope binding his hands.
"Where do you think you're going?." Hiroi asked as she slammed a cleaver down near Kazuki whose eyes widened as he barely leapt out of the way.
"Hey! What's the big idea!?" Kazuki yelled as he backed up near a wall.
"What are you saying?" Hiroi asked, confused at his words, "I'm gonna kill you so you can't escape, of course." Hiroi stated confidently, "Cuz you'll become my hair restorer."
"Hold on!" Kazuki yelled as he tried to think of a plan, "If you killed me or something then…"
"If I killed you or something then…?" Hiroi asked, curious as to what he was getting to.
"Ummm…" Kazuki stalled as he thought of a plan, 'Right! This'll work.' he thought as he crossed his arms, "You'll lose your chance to get the jewel shards!" He said confidently
"What?!" Hiroi said in disbelief.
"You've heard of Inuyasha, right?" Kazuki continued as he tried to bluff his way out of the situation, "She's pretty strong, you see…"
"Strong?" Raiza asked as she thought of Inuyasha, "Isn't she a half demon?"
"She is strong!" Kazuki held onto his bluff, "You see, Inuyasha and I have already collected almost all of the jewel fragments."
"What?!" Hiroi and Raiza said in unison.
'Alright!' Kazuki thought as he clenched his fist in confidence, 'Time to seal the deal!'
"Hey, you better not be lying." Raiza said as she sat down beside Kazuki, crossing her arms and looking at him suspiciously.
"The thing is…" Kazuki continued as he thought of a way to continue the bluff, "Inuyasha and I are very close. You could even say she's my girlfriend, If you say you'll exchange me, she'll give up the fragments in return!"
"His story's obviously a lie!" Hiroi said
"I might believe it…" Raiza looked at Kazuki slyly, "Boy!" She yelled as she grabbed him by the collar of his uniform , "You'll show us where that scum Inuyasha is. However… if it turns out you made all this up then…" she laughed as she pointed to the dead demon, "I'll open a hole through this pretty face of yours… understand?"
'She's serious…,' Kazuki thought as he looked her in the eye and nodded. "I understand."
"Th-there it is, Inuyasha! The Thunder Brothers' hideout!"
Inuyasha, who was still holding Kazuki's bike and Shippo in it, looked up at the mountain range where the Thunder Sisters lair was hidden.
"So soon now…" Shippo could barely contain his fear as they approached the mountain range, "These are the mountains where the Thunder Sisters live…"
"Everything okay Shippo?" Inuyasha asked, "You can always pull back if you're scared."
"Moron!" Shippo yelled as he leaned out the bike's basket, "I'm gonna get revenge for my father!"
Inuyasha scoffed. "You've got guts kid, but let's see if you can actually back it up though"
The fox demon turned towards Inuyasha, "They're both really strong. Raiza and Hiroi. What about you? Do you think you're strong enough to defeat them? No offense, but you're only half demon and they have the power of the Sacred Jewel shards."
Inuyasha smirked, "If anything It will make the fight more interesting."
"We best hurry," Myoga sighed.
"I hope Kazuki's all right," Shippo said worriedly.
"I hope he's alright as well," A sweat forming on Myoga's brow, "At any rate the rumors about them…" the flea knew full well the rumors and knew the words he was about to speak would leave a bad taste in his mouth, "When they carry off a human they usually eat them."
"Re…really?" Shippo asked, concerned about Kazuki as both he and Inuyasha looked at the flea, "In that case… Kazuki would already be… Wha… what'll we do?" Shippo began to freak out a bit as his mind raced.
"Keh.Don't worry," Inuyasha scoffed , "He'll think of something..." Inuyasha's voice broke a little, her own faith breaking apart as her own thoughts raced. Only to be abruptly ended when a bolt of lightning came crashing down, nearly hitting them as she jumped out of the way, Kazuki's bike struck in the process.
"Heh," Raiza laughed as she looked down at the three of them, "Dodged it, eh?" She laughed as she saw Inuyasha, "So you're her? The half-demon called Inuyasha?" She asked as she flew in the sky above them.
"That depends on who's asking." Inuyasha replied.
"Lady Inuyasha," Myoga whispered into his mistress' ear, "That's the elder of the Thunder Sisters, Raiza."
"He…hey!" Shippo yelled angrily as he hid behind Inuyasha's head, "What happened to Kazuki?"
"Heh. Don't Worry," Raiza smiled as she looked at them, " I haven't done anything…yet." She snapped her fingers as a thundering roar came as a cloud came from the sky, "Hiroi!"
"Yoo-hoo!" Hiroi yelled as she held Kazuki out.
'Inuyasha.' Kazuki thought a little relieved to see her there.
'Good…he's still alive…' Inuyasha thought glad to see he was safe.
"Hmm… looking at that face, I'd say the boy's story is true." Raiza smirked, "The jewel shards! Hand them all over! Otherwise I will kill your lover!"
"What?" Inuyasha said as a vein on her head twitched,"My...my lover?" She repeated before she glanced at Kazuki, who rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
'It was the best I could come up with. She could at least try to play along.' Kazuki thought. "Come on, don't be so shy now!"
"I think there's been some big misunderstanding here. Kazuki's not my lover!" Inuyasha replied
"So it was a lie after all, was it?" Hiroi asked as she grabbed Kazuki by his uniform and pulled him closer.
"Maybe…?"
"Are you kidding me?" Inuyasha questioned. "What idiot would give up the jewel shards for you?!"
So you're just gonna leave me here?! Kazuki asked.
"Looks like the part about the jewel shards is true…" Raiza smiled as she sped forward, "I'm gonna kill you and search your corpse!"
"Not gonna happen!" Inuyasha replied as she drew her sword.
"Have a taste of my Raigekijin!" Raiza yelled as she lunged forward with her spear.
"Tetsusaiga!" Inuyasha shouted as her sword met Raiza's spear, the two weapons stopping each other as the spear's electricity flowed into Inuyasha.
"Heh…" Raiza mused as she watched the girl struggle, "I wonder how long you can endure my lightning…"
"Don't need to!" Inuyasha yelled as she pushed the weapon down and with a powerful swing, pushed Raiza back into the air.
"Looks like you have more than just power," Raiza said amused as she stabilized herself, "This is gonna be fun."
'This isn't gonna be easy…'
AN: Right... Well, here I'm gonna explain some things about this genderbent fanfiction. You don't have to read this if you don't want, it's just to provide some, explanations, and information about where this thing is going.
NAMES: Obviously, some names are meant for males and some for females. Since I'm switching the genders of certain characters, I can't leave their names the same for some characters. That's why it's Kazuki instead of Kagome(although it wasn't that way at first). Some characters genders may also be changed due to "plot" for example in this chapter The Thunder Brothers are The Thunder Sisters because in the original Maten only took Kagome because she was a girl.If I had left it as it was Manten would have killed a male Kagome.
Kagome: Why I chose the name is because of I wanted something that sounded like Kagome but masculine, so Kazuki was the one I went with. Its meaning is "Hope of Peace" or something.
For Inuyasha: I thought the name sounded feminine when I first heard about the series and thought Inuyasha was a girl, so that one wasn't a hard one.
For Sesshomaru: Yeah… I couldn't come up with a name, so I just used the regular name, although it's masculine. But I might end up changing it in the future if I can come up with a more suitable name. Sesshiko might be one, but I don't know.
Koga and the wolves: Takahashi said the female wolf demons probably have their own "girl gangs," so we're set there. I'm gonna use the original name for Koga, but I might switch it if someone suggests a better one. But that's a lot of chapters away anyway.
Kikyo: I picked out Kazuo because I was trying to go for a similar thing with the Kikyo and Kagome name thing with Kazuki and Kazuo (I was also considering Kichirou as a name). Its meaning is "Harmonious man". Which fits since in the original Kikyo is seen and shown as kind, compassionate and friendly towards people.
Naraku:I still haven't figured it out. I mean, I could have Naraku being intrested in Inuyasha, but the story doesn't really work with Naraku being interested in Inuyasha, and having a gay Naraku would be enough of a story difference. I could just also just make Naraku a woman and be in love with Kikyo like the original story, but I don't know.
LENGTH and THE ENDING:
I want to at least get to the Band of Seven Arc. I mean, I don't want to spend the next ten years of my life writing this story. Even though I am cutting out certain storylines, still, Inuyasha has 558 chapters, and one of my fanfic chapters equals an average of two to three chapters.
But I'll continue writing as long as people are interested and I still feel like it (the stat count has been frozen since early September so I can't tell how this is doing so hopefully it gets fixed). But rest assured, should I decide that enough is enough and I don't want to write anymore, I'll tell you, dear readers, so you aren't left wondering for the next four years what the heck happened to me. And should I get tired of this before we get close to the end, I'll try to motivate myself to include the epilogue. (Because I already have that one figured out).
As for the omitted arcs: I figured most of you have seen the Inuyasha anime or read the manga at some point, so I don't need to cover every individual story detail. And because I don't want to cover everything, or write the action sequences (and because some stories won't be that different even with switched genders). I also don't want you to feel like you're just reading/watching the original but with different pronouns (although it kinda feels like it) there will be some differences (you'll just have to wait for them, though). Also, expect chapters ranging from 2-6k words from now on after this and the story being updated monthly or so.
Please note that I'm not asking or telling you to review, I'm just saying if you have a question, put it in a review. It's okay if it's just the question. I'm not the "read or review or I won't write anymore" type of author. You can read without reviewing.
