AN- Hiya all so this is the real first chapter of this fic. I know there are probably some people wondering why I'm posting a totally new fic when I still haven't finished my other one and the answer is mostly I'm still editing old chapters for it that I wish to get done before I work on the new one for it, and this is kind of a guilty pleasure fic I've been working on in my spare time. It's really easier to write because I'm basically just writing what I would do in the situation so I don't have to worry about staying in character, lol.

I was actually inspired a bit to start this from reading 'This Bites' by Xomniac. Its a SI One Piece fic and it was honestly the first time I felt it was possible to do a SI fic well. So I guess without them I'd never have had the courage to write something like this. Be sure to check that fic out because it is amazing and I have reread it so many times. It's my go to fic if I ever need something good to read.

Anyhoo I'm not going to waste to much more time chatting before letting you all get into this I'm just going to say that this will take place in Kalos region or X and Y for those you might know it better as that. Some of the main chars of Pokémon will make there appearences throughout the fic but it might take awhile for them to show up.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Pokémon in any of its franchisers. I am just an avid enjoyer of its content.

My Pokémon Adventure

Chapter 1
Getting soaked in the rain and meeting a nursery rhyme character.

The fan above whirled lazily as I relaxed against my cotton pillows scrolling through reddit on my phone, the morning sun barely able to peek through my closed blinds in the mostly dark room of a stereotypical introvert.

Stifling a yawn, I blink as I notice a user asking others online what anime, game, or fantasy world they would ever like to live in.

Checking through the responses I can't help but scoff.

"Fairy Tail, nope even if the flying cats are cute, it's not as if I want to get into a bunch of fights with other mages or God forbid dragons, plus everyone has some weird idiosyncrasy so I'd never be able to fit in, given I'm a normal sane person. Naruto, N-O, while ninja are cool and all you'd have to be suicidal since they have life and death battles over nearly everything. My Hero Academia, no thanks, you'd be ostracised by society and treated like shit for been quirkless. Devil May Cry, badass hot guys are hard to turn down, but I'd rather not end up as fodder for fugly demons. Assassin's Creed, pass, I'd go crazy after three days without modern comforts and I really don't know how I feel about killing people. Harry Potter, hah, too old, I'd just end up as an oblivious muggle acting exactly the same as I do now, just in another world."

I rest my phone on my chest as I gaze at the white ceiling above me.

If I had to pick a world it'd have to be…. "Pokémon," I mutter, "It's safe, allows for plenty of interesting sights and experiences and has adorable companions who can also kick butt. That's the world I'd pick if I had to live somewhere else."

"Okay. Wish granted," a childish voice of undeterminable gender whispered in my ears.

Flinching in shock at the voice that isn't mine despite been completely alone, I feel my heart rate pick up as I start to wonder if I've finally lost it.

How'd that saying go?

Talking to yourself is fine, not crazy at all, unless yourself talks back.

As I contemplate my now fragile sanity the bed beneath me starts shaking.

'Earthquake, but that's impossible. We never get them, or at least never strong enough to ever feel them,' I think gripping the headboard with one hand as the other clutches my phone as if it was a lifeline.

As the shaking intensifies, I can only gape in complete horror as a black void opens up above me.

Numerous thin pale arms stretching towards me.

"T-this isn't r-real. T-th-this is j-just a d-dream," I stammer.

As the porcelain white hands grab me, I don't even get a chance to cry out as the darkness of the void consumes me and I cease being.

'Ugh,' I think, 'my mattress feels hard and lumpy. Maybe I should get a new one.'

Grumbling, I roll over trying to get comfortable.

Not finding a pillow to rest my head on I sit up opening my eyes to look in case it had maybe fallen off the bed.

What instead greets me is a forest of trees under a cloud filled sky, the bed I had thought I was on nothing but dirt.

Slowly looking left and then right as my sleep addled brain tries to compute what it is seeing.

I feel the blood drain from my face as I realise, I have no idea where I am.

'Oh god, please don't tell me I've been kidnapped. But why drag me to forest in the middle of nowhere…unless they want to hunt me down like some wild animal. OH GOD, I'M GOING TO DIE!'

As I become more and more hysterical, scenes of my shattered, dismembered, bloody corpse littering the forest floor, as a masked killer laughs maniacally like the antagonist of a horror story flashing through my mind the sound of a microwave bell freaks me out enough that I squeal like a little bitch.

Eyes darting frantically around before they settle on my phone face down on the ground about a metre from me.

Burning with shame I bury my face in my hands as I roll around on the ground like a child.

'So embarrassing, just kill me now.'

Stopping pretty quickly because the ground is littered with sharp rocks and damn, they are painful when you put weight on them, I stand up and take a deep breath.

'Okay, remain calm girl. Panicking is unproductive even if it's logical, if you freak out and let it consume you, you're as good as dead. Keep calm and take in everything around you and mayhap we can figure out what the situation is.'

Taking a few more stabilising breathes as I repeat my 'keep calm' mantra I bend down and pick up my phone still secure in its thick pale pink leather flip case.

Damn that case was worth the money spent on it with my bad habit of dropping it all the time.

Flipping it open I quickly use my fingerprint to unlock the phone and frown at the notification on the screen.

It's a new text message from an 'Unknown'.

Staring at it for a bit I sigh before clicking on the notification and getting redirected to my messages to see the full text.

Usually, I would just block unknown numbers with them typically been spam or scammers but given I was in a totally unknown and unfamiliar place with no memory of how I had gotten here, with a high likelihood of having been kidnapped this 'Unknown' could be the only clue to finding out what the hell was going on.

Or at the very least was the person who had kidnapped me.

Unknown: heEllLOooo….

Unknown: coMe on WakeUp alReedy i'M bOred

Unknown: wAkeoP

Unknown: waKup

Unknown: WakEup

Blinking at the almost childish tone coming from the messages I jump when my phone vibrated with another one.

Unknown: waKeUpPpppPpp!1!1!

Irritated I angrily type back.

Me: I'm awake already. Now stop fucking spamming me.

Only after I hit the send button do I process what I had just done, face paling in horror.

Why did I send that?

I'm a complete and utter idiot.

Great job me.

As I was berating myself another text came in.

Unknown: o gUd waS geTttIng BorEing taLkiN 2 MySe1F

I felt my eye twitch at the bad grammar and punctuation of the message.

I could forgive the occasional misspelt word or shorthand text speak.

Hell, I was guilty of it myself. Especially when feeling lazy and/or tired but come on.

There is such a thing as auto correct how could the words be misspelt and messed up like that with the random capital letters and numbers spread throughout.

It had to be deliberate because there was no way you could hit those keys by accident when typing some of those words.

Unknown: soo0oO i GrNted uR w1$h HuRrI op N tHanK me

What the hell was this 'unknown' talking about.

What wish?

Biting my lip as I debate what the risks of doing this are, I quickly type a response.

Me: What are you talking about? What wish? I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't even know who you are except for the fact you likely abducted me and dropped me in the middle of nowhere.

I would have said a lot worse, but I remember people saying that it was supposedly good to endear yourself with your captor, so they thought twice about doing anything.

Calling this 'Unknown' a goddamn motherfucking psycho nut job was probably not going to make them like me.

It was better to bide my time and hope the police are aware of my disappearance and get to me before 'Unknown' did anything.

Slapping my forehead, I exit messages and open the number pad and dial '000'.

Why had I not done that first thing instead of getting distracted by 'Unknown's' texts.

Gosh I was acting almost as bad as those teenagers in any horror flick.

Granted I didn't watch horror, but even I knew it was dumb to go towards the ominous noise or enter the creepy house/graveyard/haunted residence.

As the ringing finally stops, I open my mouth to request 'police' and explain my situation when I get the automated robotic voice saying, "Your call could not be processed.

Please hang up and try again later."

Removing the mobile from my ear I look at it in terror as I wonder if maybe I wasn't even in the same country anymore.

As the panic threatened to consume me again 'Unknown' replied.

Unknown: u d1d woNt 2 Liv3 iN PokéMon dIdnT u

Unknown: i diDnt dRop U 0n uR heed u sHu1d rMbr

"Pokémon," I mumble confused before my eyes widened.

The memory of that reddit question, the earthquake and the black void with those slender pale arms grabbing me, flash through my head.

All of that was real?

That was like the start to a lame fanfic or something.

No way. Not possible.

Things did not work like that in reality.

This couldn't be a dream though as my back muscles still ache from lying on the hard ground and while I have no recollection of been drugged it wasn't impossible.

Except that my mobile was unable to contact emergency services.

If I was overseas, then that explained it but there was one number that would work despite that.

Ignoring the buzzing of follow up texts I enter '112' into the dial pad glad I knew about this backup number that should work anywhere as long as you had signal.

Which given I was receiving SMS from 'Unknown' meant I did.

"Your call could…..." Hanging up at the first sound of the monotone voice I bury my face in my hands not sure if I'm disappointed with the fact it hadn't worked.

Well, that was that.

If that number didn't work, then it seems like reality was having PMS because it was taking common sense and fricken cold cocking it in the face.

"Ok, I'm in the world of Pokémon. It could be worse. Much worse. It'll be fine. This is much better than some murder forest," I reassure myself.

Which meant the ground shaking, void and pale arms must have been 'Unknown' bringing me here.

But how the hell was that possible?

Opening back up the messages with 'Unknown' I scan through their replies.

Unknown: a$ 4 whO i Am wEll i haVe bEen CalLed mAnY th1nGs

Unknown: g0d

Unknown: pwrFul oMniPot3nt bEiNg

Unknown: deStrOyEr

Unknown: aLi3n

Unknown: n s0o mAny morE sUm noT evn In ur tUng

Unknown: feEl fRee 2 caL me Wot u 1ik idC

Well, that explains it.

Ripping me from my world would be child's play to something like 'Unknown'.

Speaking of, I hit the details button in the corner and soon have edited 'Unknown's' contact name, noting that all my other contacts are missing.

Even my old messages to friends and family are gone.

Great, not that I could have contacted them anyway, but come on.

A lot of stuff seems to be missing from my mobile really.

While the phone, messages, camera, clock, calculator, notes, to-do-list, gallery and a few other apps are still there, a lot are gone.

No google chrome, Spotify, play store, games, Gmail, discord, YouTube.

Except for the music saved onto my phone itself and the books in my PDF most of what remains was empty, which is particularly heartbreaking when all photos of my friends, family and pets are cleared from my gallery.

Yes, I could remember what they look like, but it was still hard not to have the physical evidence.

Despite missing a lot of apps, it also seemed like I had acquired some.

'Pokédex', 'PokéMap' and 'Trainer Card' were helpfully displayed next to my other favourite remaining apps.

Another ding alerted me to a new message.

PsychoWannabeGod: i uPgrdEd uR ph0ne 2

PsychoWannabeGod: iT hass iNfin8 DatA n cOnNctiVitY n bAtTeri

PsychoWannabeGod: a1so caNt b de$troYd

PsychoWannabeGod: fiGur3 tht wuLd Bee gUt 4 u hAheHa

My eye twitches again as I fight to restrain the urge to yeet my phone as far away as I am physically able and be done with this fucker's shit.

Alas even in my simmering fury I know it's a monumentally stupid idea to do so.

My phone is my only lifeline in this world and simply throwing it away would be the same as shooting myself in the foot.

Plus, I could see this childish brat of a god throwing a temper tantrum if I did so.

Despite taking me from my nice, safe, comfy, warm bed and dumping me in this world they hadn't actually harmed or threatened me in any way.

I'd much rather stay in the good books then piss them off.

Any being who could displace someone from one reality into another without breaking a sweat could likely do things that would give me nightmares.

Yeah. No thanks.

Another microwave ding alerts me to another text.

PsychoWannabeGod: o i a1s0 gaV u tHee yUthFu1 treAtmAnt

PsychoWannabeGod: Ur w3lcuM

'What?' I can't help but think, 'youthful treatment?'

I start to feel clammy, and my body does a full shudder as I start to picture those creepy pale hands giving me a spa treatment.

That was a bizarre and absolutely terrifying image.

Quickly looking down at myself I pat myself down trying to work out if anything seems different.

Plain black hoody over a black shirt with a sleepy cat with a cup of coffee and the words 'I hate mornings' written underneath, camo print leggings and grey ugg boots.

So far, my clothes were exactly the same as what I had been wearing before I came here.

Even if they seem out of place given where I currently was.

Not like I thought I'd be doing anything today.

Still, it could have been worse, I guess.

Confused and still feeling oddly violated I go into my camera app and hold it up to my face before flipping it to the selfie side.

Pale face from little exposure to sunlight, check.

Boring brown eyes, check.

Long brown hair with red and black streaks, che-?

Wait what?

I grab a handful of hair and hold it in front of my eyes and see the same thing.

But that can't be right.

I hadn't had streaks in my hair since I was 15-17.

Starting to sweat now I return my gaze to the camera and look closer.

Those glasses are definitely from when I was 15.

Heck even my skin seemed softer and less tired looking.

Fuck.

Fuck!

FUCK!

That freaky ass deranged mofo had de-aged me.

I know I always said things were simpler back when all I had to worry about was school and homework but come on.

What the hell am I meant to do when I was basically an alien without a legal adult as a teenager?

Wait.

This was Pokémon.

In my world I'd be screwed but here children could seemingly do whatever they fricken wanted to unsupervised.

The ding from my phone drew me from my contemplative thoughts.

Quickly exiting the camera, I opened the newest message from PsychoWannabeGod.

PsychoWannabeGod: I wnTed 2 mkE u YungeR buTt U duNt hAv anY ch1LdisH iNn0cents leFt haHeeH0o

My finger clench around the phone as I hiss out a strangled exhale.

Yeah, life has a way of making you fucking jaded and cynical.

I guess that equates to the teenage mindset in general.

I relax my grip as I take soothing breaths.

Honestly, I think this was the first time I was glad to have lost my childish naivety.

Gosh forbid if I was 10 again and had to suffer through puberty for a second time, I'd probably want to beat my head against a tree until I had a concussion.

Ding.

PsychoWannabeGod: aNyho0

PsychoWannabeGod: uR stUcK th3re unt1Ll u bCum a Pok3m0n ma$tEr

PsychoWannabeGod: haV foOn

PsychoWannabeGod: doNt lEt Mee geT bRdeD!
!

Well crap.

That wasn't ominous as fuck.

At least I knew the escape criteria now.

Closing messages, I eye the new apps I have and click on 'Trainer Card' since I have a sneaking suspicion as to what 'Pokédex' and 'PokéMap' do.

I'm greeted with a green card with a picture of me on the right then my name, D.O. B, ID number, hometown and badges/region.

So far most of it seems pretty normal besides hometown that currently has a — beside it, which I guess is because I'm an alien in this world and D.O.B which is just XX-XX-XXXX.

What also is strange is it doesn't have the money, BP, Pokémiles, Pokédex amount, time, Adventure started or hall of fame info on the card either.

I scratch my cheek as I think about it.

Well, the Pokédex amount would be in the Pokédex anyway so that makes sense.

The time and adventure started would be whack considering this is real life and not a game, so that info is meaningless.

Pokémiles was basically a step counter and mainly just so you could track how much you had done for things such as getting medals and hatching eggs.

The eggs probably follow real life logic and just take time to hatch.

Actually, what storyline am I following?

Anime or Game?

Or maybe even the manga?

Fuck the only thing I know about the manga is that they eat Pokémon and when they battle, they battle to the death.

I remember what it felt like to lose family pets I do not want to go through that with Pokémon as well.

Shaking my head, I redirect my focus.

I'll find that stuff out later on.

For now, work through the current situation.

BP aka Battle Points didn't really come in until you got to the battle area so even if it does show on my card, I haven't unlocked it yet.

Which just leaves money, which probably followed real world logic again and had a physical form.

Great I'd have to learn how that worked once I actually got some.

Welp that was the 'Trainer card' basically my ID in this world.

Real great stuff.

Sighing I open PokéMap and grin as it proves indefinitely more useful instantly.

Wow, this is way better than the map in game, but I guess that was kind of a fixed path anyway.

My PokéMap was basically a GPS in that it showed my current location as Santalune Forest.

Moving around in a circle I could even see a little compass feature in the corner point towards north.

Awesome.

I guess the little cloud in the other corner was to indicate weather.

Zooming out I saw what I think was a pond behind me but still just forest.

Zooming out, zooming out, zooming out, Aha!

There!

NW to me was Santalune City, made sense with the forest been named so.

Looking at the distance between my current location and the city I bit my lip.

I have no idea how long it would take to get there but standing around here was basically useless, so I better start walking.

Putting the phone in my hoodie pocket so I have my hands free I take one look over my shoulder.

Call it childish impulse or just an outlet for my frustration at everything that happened but I raised my hand to the sky behind me and flipped it off.

I couldn't prove the bastard entity who dumped me here could see it, but it did make me feel better.

I could do this, out of all the worlds I could have been dropped into this one would be a piece of cake.

Pokémon Master, here I come.

Fuck the past me with a spiked cactus attached to a rodeo bull.

That girl had no clue what she was talking about.

I huffed as I finished climbing another hill stumbling over yet another hidden tree root, before leaning against the side of the tree trunk as I got my breath back.

15-year-old me was probably fitter than my proper self but not by much.

'If I'd known I was going to have to hike through an overgrown wood I would have worked out more,' I thought, before tilting my head.

Yeah, that was a lie, but I sure was paying for it now.

I was sweaty covered with dirt from tripping over rocks, roots and yes, even my own feet.

My legs ached from the constant walking, with my feet covered in blisters from where they'd been constantly rubbing against the material of my shoes.

My hands and knees scrapped up and bruised from the many tumbles I'd suffered though thankfully my leggings hadn't torn yet, though the dirt caked on them made it hard to tell.

A small cut on my cheek stung from a branch that had flung back and struck me and I was still picking leaves out of my hair from where I had slipped on the mossy log I had been climbing over and landed in a bush.

All in all, I was worn out, tired and sore.

Fuck forests and fuck hiking.

Nature enthusiasts can bite me.

Pulling out my phone to check the map to see if I've wandered of course yet again.

I wince at the time displayed to me as I unlock the phone.

It was starting to get late.

I really didn't want to walk in the dark, that would be super dangerous.

I squint as I notice the little cloud indicating the weather now has slanted lines under it.

I look from it up at the cloudy sky confused.

"It's not raining. Is this thing as inaccurate as normal weather apps?" I ask out loud.

As soon as the words leave my mouth a drop of water, then two, then many fall around me and soon enough it's raining in full swing.

Clenching my teeth to bite back a curse I pull my hood up and hunch over my phone to avoid the rain drops streaking on it as I frantically adjust the map trying to find some form of shelter because walking in the dark is dangerous, walking in the rain and dark is a good way to die and sorry but I like living too much.

Zooming in trying to get more details of my surroundings I spot a little house on the map.

I blink at it for a bit before deciding to not question it and just be gracious that luck hasn't completely forsaken me.

Trying to estimate the distance I figure it's about 30 minutes away but as I have learnt today, a forest does not have smooth straight paths.

Especially if you're off trail. Shivering as the rain seeps into my clothes I ignore my groaning body and start jogging in the direction of the house/cabin/hut whatever that is the only form of shelter I can see nearby.

I shudder as a chill runs down my back and part of me can't tell if its from the cold rain or the sight in front of me as I gasp in front of what turned out to be an old cabin.

I was thoroughly drenched now and while the rain may have helped clean the dirt off the rest of my clothes my heavy waterlogged ugg boots were a different story.

They felt like 2 grimy bricks attached to my feet at this stage, covered in thick mud and the only reason I had bothered to continue wearing them despite them being heavy and gross was because running around bare foot seemed to be a good way to get tetanus or go lame.

Shaking my feet in an attempt to try and clean some of the mud off I glance back at the cabin and knock on the door.

Nothing.

I knock again and call out, "Hello?"

Silence except for the sound of rain falling around me.

Knocking again I peak into a window nearby and try to see if I can catch anything inside, but it's pitch black.

Unable to avoid feeling that this is the start to some horror flick I test the door handle and find it unlocked and push it open.

It does so with a loud creak.

Yeah, totally not freaky.

Looking behind me I smack my cheeks to give myself a burst of determination wincing as I aggravate my injuries and tiptoe inside leaving my probably ruined boots at the door.

No sense tracking mud into the place.

As it is I'm going to be getting water everywhere.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" I call out once again, on the off chance that I hadn't been heard over the rain earlier.

Same as before I get no response, so I shrug and fiddle with my phone until I get to the flashlight setting and push it.

Looking around I find a light switch next to front door and flip it.

Surprise surprise.

No power.

Sighing I use my phone's flashlight to get a sense of the area I'm in.

Seems it is a sitting room with a bunch of covered old furniture around a fireplace.

I run my hand along what I think is a covered armchair before sneezing.

Trying to rub my nose as dust tickles it.

Great this place is definitely abandoned given the amount of dust littering the place.

The lack of power should have clued me in.

I shiver again and decide that exploring any further can wait until later, heck even tomorrow, today has been a trying experience and all I want is to be warm and dry and to pass out.

I close the front door and peel my sopping wet clothes off, leaving me clad in only my underwear.

Sure, there were all those survival stories of been naked to preserve warmth but if anything happened, I would rather have some form of modesty.

Running around naked seem like a bad adult film, not something I'd want to imitate in real life.

Wringing out the water as best I could I hang my clothes on some nearby hooks on the back of the door.

Huh, convenient.

With any luck maybe they'd dry by morning.

Heading back to the covered armchair I hold my breath as I yank the sheet off of it and shake it trying to get the dust off.

My attempts not to sneeze end up in failure but I bundle myself up and grin with watering eyes as I see a worn blanket on the arm of the chair.

Draping that around myself I breathe a sigh of relief as I feel marginally warmer.

I give the armchair a wary eye.

It looks as if any weight put on it will cause it to collapse.

The sitting cushion seems semi decent though, even if it has a bit of the inner foam exposed in one corner.

Peering at the fire place I can see some logs and a fire poker but can't make out any matches or so from where I am given the whole area is covered with dust and cobwebs.

While it would probably warm me up immensely, I have no clue how to start a fire from scratch and I'd have to clear it out and clean it up before I could use it anyway.

Too much work for me at this point in time.

Motivation has nosedived and abandoned ship.

Dropping my eyes from the fireplace I see a scratchy and partly unravelled rug on the floor in front of it and shrug.

I could do worse then sleeping on the floor.

Lifting it up and giving it a brief shake and sneezing again from the dust I grab the armchair seat and settle myself on top of the now mostly dust free rug putting the mostly intact cushion under my head to act as a pillow.

Making sure I am cocooned in the blankets I place my glasses next to my phone, arm's length beside me, so they won't get crushed if I happen to move a little in my sleep.

With that done I close my eyes and curl up drifting off to the sound of the rain falling outside.

Despite my exhaustion my sleep was fitful and sporadic.

Laying on the floor is uncomfortable, and my already aching body protested greatly.

As soon as I thought I had found a semi comfortable position it would let me know nope this wasn't it.

I could mostly tune that out though, but the random groans and creaks of the house would startle me, and I'd lay there trying not to breath too loudly in case I really wasn't alone in the abandoned cabin.

Ultimately by the time it got to morning I was frazzled and still tired.

The sun peering through the grimy window didn't have such pity though and reluctantly that left me with little choice but to get up.

Staring at the ceiling processing the fact that shit yesterday had not been a bad dream and I really was in an abandoned cabin, in another world, after been kidnapped by some bored asshole god.

Fuck my life.

Looking to the side I was sure I had left my mobile and glasses on I squinted at this fuzzy yellow blur where my phone should have been.

Rubbing my eyes cursing my poor vision I fumble around until I grab my glasses and put them on.

Now I saw a unblurry, yellow fuzzy thing with two blue spots.

"What fresh hell am I seeing first thing in the morning?" I ask somewhat annoyed and reach out to brush whatever the thing is aside.

Two blue eyes blink at me from the pile of yellow fuzz and before I can make contact or exclaim in surprise I'm sprayed in the face with white string.

"Eek!" I squeal as I fall back trying to claw the white stuff off my face as I hear whatever it was scamper off.

Finally removing the gunk from my face, I look at my hands and see the remaining strands of spider web?

Smacking my forehead, I release that the yellow fuzz hadn't been a toy or some stuffing but a Pokémon.

Grabbing my phone, I stand up and peer around.

"Hello?"

I peer under the armchair but can't see any yellow so it's not under there.

"I'm sorry for scaring you. Please come out," I say.

Sadly, it seems the Pokémon didn't believe me or had gone since I got no response back.

Sighing I put the armchair cushion back in place and put my phone on top of it as I quickly dress back in my clothes.

Still damp but it beat walking around in a sheet and blanket.

Fully clothed I figure now is a good time to explore the cabin.

I hadn't made it out fully the previous night but in the light of day dim as it was, I could make out that this place was unquestionably abandoned.

Bringing my shirt up to cover my nose I set to work taking the sheets of everything and opening draws and cupboards and wandering around the cabin.

Turns out where I had slept was the main area with a dining room in a room on the right and a narrow hallway with four doors.

One led to the kitchen, one was a side door to outside which had a shattered window and the other two led to the bathroom and bedroom.

The person who had lived here must have enjoyed camping because they were stocked pretty well with gear which was now helping me greatly.

My investigations lead to the discovery of a black rucksack that had a sleeping bag and tent inside, the match box for the fireplace, a first aid kit which I graciously used, some rope, a green metal water bottle, a green metal mug, what seemed to be a camping stove with a spare hopefully full canister, a pot and pan to go with the stove, a pocket knife, various cutlery and utensils I had pilfered from the kitchen with some plastic plates and bowls, along with a set of kitchen knives tied up in a kit, a small pillow that had stars on it I found pretty, a remarkably unopened toothbrush and toothpaste which I hope was ok because I have no idea if they can go out of date, a spare hairbrush, wrapped bar of soap, deodorant and an all in 1 shampoo-conditioner bottle.

Proud of my haul which I had lined up neatly next to the rucksack next to the kitchen wall, I heard my stomach grumble and clutched it.

Ugh, I hadn't eaten anything for at best a whole day.

I was starving.

My scavenging of the cupboards had found some old and mouldy food, but I hadn't checked the pantry since the lights didn't work and there was no window in there.

Maybe the person who used to live here had some canned stuff.

That was meant to last awhile.

Turning around I went to pick up my phone again and squeaked as I felt something bristly.

My phone drops to the floor and I hurried pick it up backing away as I take in what I had touched.

Yellow fuzz with two blue eyes currently glaring at me.

It was the Pokémon again.

Now that I wasn't half asleep and could get a good look at it, I realised exactly what Pokémon this was too.

"Joltik," I point at it, as if it didn't already know.

Honestly that web I took to the face should have made it obvious, but no one is a genius when they just wake up.

The Joltik blinks at me in alarm before chattering its name back at me in what I think was an angry matter as it eyed my phone.

Taking another step back because even if this Pokémon was tiny and kind of adorable, it could probably still do a lot of damage to flimsy old me.

Unlocking my phone, I clicked on the Pokédex app and after looking at the features selected scan.

Aiming my camera at the still chittering Pokémon I waited for the scan to complete.

"Joltik. The attaching Pokémon. Since it can't generate it's own electricity, it sticks onto large-bodied Pokémon and absorbs static electricity."

The Dex displayed some additional info, but I closed out of the app realising why Joltik seemed to be drawn to my phone.

It was absorbing the static electricity from it and since PWG had basically made my phone have infinite battery it was basically an all you can eat buffet to the little bug.

Slowly moving closer I hold my phone out in front of me and then place it down on the floor and take a few steps back and sitting on the floor.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you Joltik. You can recharge on my phone if you want to," I tell it quietly.

The Joltik looks from me to the phone a few times before cautiously crawling off the armchair.

One leg at a time it tiptoes towards the phone before eventually laying back on it chittering happily.

'Aw it's so cute' I squee internally not wanting to startle the little Pokémon again.

I guess it lives here and I just didn't notice it when I first entered.

Grinning as I watch the cute spectacle it isn't until my stomach grumbles again that I remember that I'm ravenous.

I hug myself as I groan.

I need my phone so I can see in the pantry but then I'd disturb Joltik again.

Maybe I could just try and grab random things and bring them out into the kitchen to see them.

The fuzzy little bug looks at me and chitters.

I smile weakly at it, "Um sorry, I'm just hungry is all."

It tilts it head watching me before it scampers off my phone towards the door.

"Huh?" I question, standing up and seeing the Pokémon looking up at me.

"Jolt…. Joltik…tik," it chatters.

"Um….?" I reply intelligently.

It lifts a foreleg and beckons chittering at me again.

I nod getting it, "I guess you want me to follow you."

Grabbing my phone I follow after the tiny little fuzz ball, reluctantly putting my grimy ugg boots back on and opening the door.

The sky is clear this morning which is a relief after that sudden downfall I got stuck in yesterday.

I trail after Joltik as it shoots spider web from tree to tree as it swings along, occasionally waiting on a branch as it chitters down at me.

I wince as I struggle to keep up, the band aids I have over my blistered feet stopping them from bleeding but not really helping them from been tender.

I really needed to get some proper shoes a-s-a-p.

Brushing the messy hair from my flushed face I yelp as something suddenly drops from above onto my head and in my haste to back away from whatever it was promptly land on my butt.

"Owwww," I whine as I rub my sore rear.

Looking sulkily at whatever had hit me I gasp as I see a large blue fruit.

It looked sort of familiar and it wasn't until I picked it up and examined it more closely that I worked out why.

"Oh, an oran berry."

Though given it's size it seemed more a fruit then a berry.

The logistics of what is a fruit or berry aside I raised my head to see Joltik chattering above me as it jumped up and down in the tree that was covered in the blue berries.

I smile up at it and it turns to grab its own oran berry and start nibbling at it.

Seeing that the yellow bug had no issues regarding the berry I shrugged and took a bite out of mine.

If I remember correctly the berries were used in human cooking and not just for Pokémon so it should be fine for me to eat it too.

As I chewed, I tried to think of anything that had a flavour like this.

The texture was a little like an apple, but this wasn't sweet, or bitter or spicy or salty or any one flavour but kind of had a hint of everything.

I wouldn't say it was bad per say but it was weird.

Still food was food, and my empty belly was grateful to have anything edible to fill it.

Finishing the berry and licking my fingers to get the juice that had dribbled I looked back up at the fuzzy spider.

"Hey Joltik. Think you could knock some more berries down for me?"

If the little bug chose to not do so that was fine too but I'd rather not make a fool of myself trying to climb and not fall out of the tree while grabbing the blue berries.

I was accident prone enough on the ground, adding height to it was just asking for a chance of breaking something.

It blinked blue eyes at me and chittered for a moment before it scuttled along the branch and picked some of the berries off and dropped them causing me to quickly run and catch them while haphazardly trying to clutch them in my arms so as to not bruise the delicate berries.

Grinning up I quickly said, "thanks Joltik," before trying to stuff as much of the oran berries in my hoodie pocket as I could despite how awkward it was.

If I had to keep holding the pile in my arms, I was bound to drop some.

Taking a bite out of another berry I raised my head to watch Joltik who was chittering happily as it swung from branch to branch.

Seems the little bug was happy with the praise.

Cute.

Slipping my phone out so I could snap a picture of the adorable Pokémon I finished off the berry as I fiddled with the camera settings.

Raising my phone, I quickly hit the shutter as I checked the photo out.

Not bad.

I wasn't the best at taking pictures but with the technology of current phones even an amateur like myself could take alright pictures.

Now I had a record of the first ever Pokémon I had met in this world.

A really cute one.

Rustling branches from behind me made me whirl around to the sight of some more Joltik and one big yellow spider which must have been a Galvantula.

Joltik's evolved form.

Those chitters didn't sound happy and I took a few steps back until I was behind the oran berry tree as the Pokémon angrily gestured and twittered at…. the Joltik above me?

Were they not from the same group?

I could understand them been suspicious of me being wild Pokémon not used to people but why Joltik?

I was missing something here.

Peeking through the branches I saw the Joltik I knew shudder and back away as if it was nervous, chittering rapidly.

The others didn't seem to like that as they waved their legs back and the giant yellow spider made an awful screeching noise that forced me to cover my ears as I winced.

Pulling out my phone I brought up the Pokédex again and pointed it at the big bug.

"Galvantula. The electric spider Pokémon. They employ an electrically charged web to trap their prey. While it is immobilized by shock, they leisurely consume it. Attack, Screech," The Dex helpfully informed me.

Guess that ear splitting noise was a Pokémon attack then.

The other Joltik seemed emboldened and were shooting webs at the tree making me hastily hide my face behind the trunk again.

The little bug above me was doing its best to avoid the webs but it was running out of places to run with the branches slowly getting covered in the sticky white substance.

Chittering weakly, it leapt from the branches falling towards the ground in an attempt to escape.

Heart in my throat I could only watch in horror as the giant yellow spider across from us raised its 2 front pinchers and shot a sparking web straight towards the falling Pokémon.

Trapped in shocking web the tiny spider couldn't get away as it weakly shuddered from the electricity zapping it.

"Joltik!" I screamed as I watched the little bug tremble in pain as the others seemed to gloat.

I could turn around and run away while they were distracted by their victory.

It was perfectly logical after all.

What could I do against creatures that could shoot electricity or easily cover me in webs.

This was just nature taking it's course.

The strong survive and the weak do not.

Simple as that.

Biting my lip, my hands clenched into fists as tears prick my eyes, I take a step back to do just that.

Run, just like a coward and save my own skin.

Pain filled blue orbs halt my feet though and I realise I can't.

I can' leave Joltik there to who knows what just to save myself.

It had helped me when it could easily have left me alone.

It was the first friendly face I had come across in this brand new world and I would despise myself forever if I turned my back on it.

Growling I dart forward and with my sleeves pulled over my hands pick up the little Pokémon as I clench my teeth tight as the shocks from the web shudder through me.

Fuck that stung like a bitch.

This was so much worse then pins and needles and keeping my grip over the trapped bug was a testament to my sudden determination and possible nerve damage as I turned on my heel and bolted back in the direction of the cabin.

Angry chattering and branches creaking alerted me to the fact that the enemy Pokémon did not like me taking their opponent and were following me.

I yelped as I felt sticky string hit me in my back almost making me trip as I hunched over the bug in my arms and ran faster.

Ignoring the pain and stiches in my legs as kept going.

I had to reach the cabin it was the only place that was semi safe that I knew of in this whole forest, and I wouldn't be able to run forever.

A shot of web in front of me had me awkwardly adjusting my step to avoid getting my foot trapped in the sticky fluid and I squeaked as my ankle rolled, "Wah…shit."

Unable to keep my balance I fell sideways tumbling over and over, down a hill and hitting what seemed like every root and rock on the way down.

Hissing in pain I stumbled to my feet and thanked my lucky stars that I hadn't broken anything or squashed the Joltik in my arms.

Small mercies.

Wincing I looked up at the hill where I heard raged chitters from but as of yet saw no sign of the yellow spiders and decided this was my best bet to lose them.

Ignoring the twinges of agony as best I could I hobbled forward and soon saw the cabin. "

Oh, sweet fuck," I gasp in relief, throwing myself through the door before collapsing to the dusty floor.

Panting I drop the bundle in my arms and am grateful to see the web has stopped sparking.

That would at least make it easier to get the poor yellow fuzz ball out of the sticky substance.

Gritting my teeth as I shake my arms out that keep twitching.

Please let them not have permanent nerve damage.

I limp over to my laid out items against the wall and manage after some error to pick up the pocket knife.

Settling back next to the bound bug I very carefully, or as carefully as I can with my trembling hands start to cut the strings of web away.

Soon the little spider is free, and I didn't seem to have nicked it anywhere.

Sighing I drop the knife and nudge the small Pokémon, "Hey, Joltik hey. Wake up please. Come on, please wake up."

Those blue eyes blink at me before squinting in pain and I release the breath I was holding.

Thank fuck.

"It's all good. You're safe now."

Looking around I eye the first aid kit, but having used it earlier I don't think it would do much, then I remember my stuffed hoodie pocket.

Pulling out one of the oran berries and placing it next to the Joltik.

Oran berries could restore hp from what I can remember, and the poor bug was likely very low.

I had had no clue how that really worked besides it somehow restoring them so maybe it just accelerated their natural healing.

Pokémon were weird creatures, and this was a bizarre and strange world.

The fuzzy bug tried to nibble at the berry, but it was having some issues and the berry rolled away.

Frowning I picked the blue berry back up and the discarded knife that I wiped quickly on my leggings which were cover with dirt again to get rid of the webbing.

Ugh.

Slicing the berry, I held a small piece towards it and grimaced.

"Sorry about the dirt but I don't really have anything I can really clean with."

The Pokémon eyed the slice and started nibbling it, so I considered that a win and fed the rest until it stopped looking as if it was going to faint at any moment.

Grabbing my phone, I set it on my lap then carefully I extended my hands and scooped the yellow bug up and placed it on the phone.

I wasn't quite sure if this would help or even do anything but I remembered the little spider had liked this before so it couldn't hurt.

It gave a soft chitter and gave a tiny pat with its leg on my hand causing me to give a soft smile.

Cute.

"I wonder why those other Joltik and Galvantula attacked us? Was it because of the tree?" I ask out loud not really expected a response but the little bug chatters at me sadly.

"Huh? Oh, uh were you friends?"

It looks at me before drooping its head.

"Ah that's not it. Maybe you once were friends but not anymore?" I ask trying to work out what it's trying to say.

This is really hard when there is a total language barrier.

PWG really should have given me a Pokémon to English translator.

That would have been so useful.

The bug chittered again and it sound more confident, so I guess that was closer.

"Ok so you used to be friends, but something happened, and you aren't anymore. Maybe they kicked you out?" I asked thinking about how I had found it all by itself in this cabin.

Joltik gave another sad chitter and a small nod.

"Ah I see. I guess that tree was likely in their territory then and they weren't happy you came back and that's why they attacked. I'm sorry you got hurt trying to get me some food."

"Jol…Joltik…Jol," it replied back giving me another pat on the hand.

Smiling down at it I gave its fuzzy body a gentle pat with my fingers, and it seemed to close its eyes as it settled down on my phone.

Aww.

Stroking it's tiny body carefully I chew my lip as I think about how sad it is that the poor little bug got kicked out by the others and then left to live in a run down abandoned cabin.

There wasn't really anything in here to eat and if it tried to find food in the forest it was likely to run into those other Pokémon again and get hurt or worse.

I tensed.

I didn't want it to suffer like that, but I couldn't stay here.

I probably wouldn't even be able to resolve the conflict either.

Galvantula and the others seemed pretty set on attacking and there wasn't anyone who was knowledgeable about Pokémon nearby I could ask for advice.

Maybe….

Glancing down at the yellow bug I cough nervously and ask, "um if you want…. maybe you could…um come…with me?"

The little spider opens its blue eyes and looks up at me and I blush.

"You don't have too…. I just thought it'd be nicer than staying here…. alone in this old cabin and with those others…and you could charge on my phone when you want.…it'd be nice to have some company….and a friend…." I trail off as I get more flustered.

Why is this so nerve wracking?

"Uh…..no pressure….you probably wouldn't want to travel with me anyway…..I'm a stranger after all…..and you got hurt because of me…..I have to become a Pokémon master anyway so that would mean more fights…course you wouldn't want that…..ah sorry….I'll shut up now…"

I closed my eyes unable to look at the little Pokémon any longer as I finished stumbling over my words.

What was I thinking?

No way would this little spider want anything to do with me when I had barged into it's home, scared it and gotten it hurt.

I felt a soft tickle to my cheek and my eyes opened to see the Joltik had climbed to my shoulder and was rubbing its head against it chittering happily.

My eyes burned with tears as I smiled at it.

"Oh, you'll really come with me?"

I asked and it gave a little hop and spun in a circle, and I giggle at its antics.

"Partners," then I said and raised a finger.

It lifted a leg and touched it to my finger, and we shook.

This was the start of a long and hopeful friendship, and I couldn't feel happier that my first Pokémon in this world was this adorable but helpful yellow fuzzball.

I'd show that PWG that I could be a Pokémon Master and I was going to survive in this world.

Me and Joltik had this.

That's the end of chapter 1. Hope you enjoyed it. Now just to help clarify things I'm kind of doing this as a mixture of the anime and game with maybe some slight manga references (I am mostly unfamiliar with the manga so if something isn't correct please chalk it up to creative liberates, most of what I know is it is a lot darker then the games and anime).

I am also taking some creative freedom of Pokémon found in the region because it's a little boring just using the Pokémon that get released in that region and the national dex is a thing. If you can get it in the game through the national dex I figure you can probably fine it in the zone. Even if it might be uncommon. Of course Pokémon from future stuff won't be making an appearance unless travel to those zones becomes a thing later one. Who knows.

Please do let me know if I have missed any spelling or grammar mistakes as this is not beta'ed and while I think I have gotten everything that doesn't mean I'm not human. The stuff with PWB is purposely mispelt, incorrect, etc on purpose and I tell you what my spellcheck was not happy with those one bit.

Thanks for Reading,

Shadow-Wishes
