Thank you for choosing my story. This is a continuation of Fallen Hero & Rising Antagonist. I hope you enjoy the third installment.
Prologue: Returning Home
The morning light seemed to shine down on the land known as Hyrule. It had been almost 8 years since the young heroes left the land of Hyrule. Although notes and pictographs were sent between them all Zelda, King Daphnes, Malon, Impa, and Eagus missed the boys quite a lot.
Zelda was about to turn 17 years old and she was preparing to take the kingdom from her father when she was 18. She was in her final year of training and she had grown into a beautiful young woman. Her long blond strands reached mid-back, her blue eyes rivaled that of the Zora's Sapphire, and she had a beautiful hourglass figure. Her training with Impa, kept her tight and fit. Her artful and lively face made girls who didn't know her jealous. Though she was very beautiful, she was also very friendly and was great friends with Impaz and Malon.
King Daphnes was a wise and kind ruler. He was sharp as a tack and he was also quite fair to his citizens. He had snow-white hair, a white mustache, and a short beard that appeared almost like salt and pepper. His blue eyes were soft and understanding. He was a bit on the chubby side, but Zelda called him her cuddly bear, and he didn't seem to mind. In his late 40s, he was still relatively young, however, he seemed to have aged drastically once his wife died. He decided that his daughter would be ready to wed and take his place as the ruler of Hyrule when she came of age.
Malon was living at Lon Lon Ranch with her father, helping with the daily chores that she did, day in and day out. It had been years since Link, Colin, and Tay had been in Hyrule and the loneliness grew within the young woman. At almost 17, she grew into a beautiful woman, equal to Zelda when it came to beauty. Her long red strands reached her waist that was currently in a ponytail, her curvaceous form was concealed by a pair of brown trousers and a black tunic, tied at the waist. Maon also wore a pair of boots. The clothes were bought for her when it came to tending to the farm, painting, or building structures. Doing that in a dress had proven to be difficult.
Impa continued to watch over Zelda, making sure the Princess was attending all of her lessons, and that she was training her body daily. Impa had always had a soft spot for Zelda, viewing her more like a daughter than a nanny. She also knew that Daphnes was busy trying to run a kingdom where he didn't get to spend much time with his daughter. Impa enjoyed Zelda's company and when Malon came over, Impa took it upon herself to watch the young farm girl as well. She watched the two girls, although from very different backgrounds grow into the best of friends. The love they had for one another made Impa believe she had done a good job raising Zelda.
Eagus watched the day the boys departed. Link and Tay's smiles were the last things he saw on them, as the trio faded into the setting sun. Now that 8 years had passed, he began to wonder if he would see his 'boys' again. The last note he received from Link was almost a week prior, stating they were returning to Hyrule and were bringing a guest with them. The guest was the Princess of Termina, Kaylyn. Eagus stared at the note, happiness filling his soul, knowing he was going to see his sons again. A man in his mid-30s, he didn't look a day over 25. He was still a very handsome man, with blond strands and blue eyes that matched Link. He was quite muscular and he kept himself in shape. Being the General of Hyrule's Army helped keep him in shape and he also had daily training with his soldiers.
It was still early morning, as four horses arrived at the land of Hyrule. The four individuals looked at one another, as smiles spread across their faces.
Link had grown quite a lot from the 9-year-old child he was when he left. Now at 17, he had grown taller, with broad shoulders, thick calves, a muscular strong chest, and a slim stomach. He worked hard to gain the body he had and it paid off. His blond strands grew longer and with the help of his hat, he managed to keep most of it out of his face.
Tay was now the same age as Link. His brown hair had grown out like Link and he kept it in a low ponytail. He was slightly taller than the blond hero and just as muscular. His green eyes were very expressive and he had a constant grin. Over the past 8 years, he and Link grew into the best of friends.
Rounding out the boys was Colin, who was almost a year younger than his two friends. He had grown quite attractive, with blond hair covering one eye, a smile that made girls drool, and he was quite muscular. Doing the same workout as the other two, he had grown in size and height, he was now the same height as Link.
On Colin's right, was the beautiful Termina Princess, Kaylyn. She was now 17, slightly older than Colin, but her heart belonged to the young man. Her blue hair was a cascade of curls that ended mid-back and her green eyes were bright and lively. Her beauty was equal to that of Zelda and Malon. Being from a different land, she had a slight accent, but Colin thought it made her special. Her dress and riding boots showed off her hourglass figure.
"We're home," Colin exclaimed giving a small laugh. Tay, Link, and Kaylyn smiled more and gave their own laughter. "This is such a weird, yet exciting feeling."
"You're right about that," Link replied with a soft pat on Epona's head. She gave a happy neigh, as he looked at the other three. "Shall we get home?" They nodded, as they began to race across the open fields of Hyrule.
It was not even an hour later when Malon showed up at the Palace. She knew there was a ball that King Daphnes was throwing that night and Zelda was not happy about it She was summoned by Zelda, who needed one of her best friends. The Knights nodded to Malon who smiled and nodded in return. She made her way to Zelda's room, which was now on the third floor. She knocked and waited.
A moment later the door opened and Impa looked at her. "Come in," she whispered, as she opened it more for Malon to enter. She heard Zelda on the balcony, trying to calm herself. She looked at Impa with shock. "Zelda's not in a good place," Impa answered Malon's unasked question.
"Okay, I'm missing something," she whispered.
Impa nodded, "Her father stopped by to tell her the main reason for this ball," Malon waited, as Impa lowered her eyes briefly, before looking at her. "Her father wants her to find a Prince to marry tonight."
"But what about Tay?" Malon knew those two were in love and she was sure Daphnes knew it. "They've been together for years, may not be physically, but they are meant to be."
"He….told us Tay was not a Prince, therefore not a choice for her," Impa concluded and Malon gasped. "So she has to choose someone tonight." Malon went to Zelda and placed an arm around her. Zelda buried her face into Malon's shoulder and just held her best friend. Impa stood near them, as she bit her lower lip. She knew Zelda loved Tay and this was killing her.
A soft neigh of a horse shook Zelda from her thoughts. Impa, Malon, and Zelda looked over the railing. "They're back!" Zelda exclaimed. The two girls ran down the halls and stairs, exclaiming the boys were back. Eagus looked at Horwall and Owlan as Zelda ran by. They began to follow the Princess to see the boys.
Ps: It's been years since I decided to come back to this series. I have two more 'stories' that I wish to tell to finish it out. If you would like to know what is going on, you can read Fallen Hero & then Raising Antagonist. This is the third book of the series I am writing. Hopefully, you enjoy it.
