Day 10
Ali had to move on. He offered to let her stay till she found a place but it hurt to think about prolonging it. She had money saved and was about to get an affordable apartment across from a park. She'd look for a roommate eventually for the extra room. She relocated her job and was starting over.
Day 15
That's how it felt for a moment till everyday was becoming exactly the same. The same routines and routes became mundane. Ali wasn't lonely. She felt empty and dragged. Masking it was becoming second nature to her though. Her new coworkers wouldn't know the difference.
Day 18
They invited her out for drinks and it was a stimulation that was at least something. The little cup of sake became a crutch when she was out. Making the smile easier. Moving on and blending in. Pretending that the past 4 years didn't happen.
The office outings and the sake induced laughter started to blur. She enjoyed the moments and that went by fast. When they were over she realized that they were just seconds that took up nothing in her long awaited days.
It was all blending and blurring. What was happiness and what was fake.
