It took Jasper over a week before he was able to put his plan in motion, he had convinced Jacob into helping him, after all, if he wanted this to work he couldn't let Alice see him.
And considering he had learnt enough about the imprinting matter… it didn't took much to manipulate Jacob into helping him.
"You might be able to escape with her, but the Volturi will never rest until they've her. You know what they did to me, she might be a child, but that won't stop 'em from torturin' her, do you truly wanna risk that?"
Those words had been enough for the wolf to agree within seconds, he knew it wasn't fair to lie to him, the Volturi could care less about Renesmee, yeah, she was a hybrid, but for what he knew, the Volturi were made aware of how they were made, and the girl didn't have a particularly important gift.
Meant she wouldn't be on Aro's list, or she might be seeing that she could be an amazing incentive to keep Edward and Bella compliant.
Point was, of all the Cullens, she had the best chance at being ignored.
Not that Jacob needed to know that, Jasper needed him if he wanted this to even be put in motion, and as cruel as it was, it was alright for he wouldn't make Jacob follow him into Volterra, he just needed to take him to the Volturi's… hideout.
And that was it, he could leave afterwards, Alice wouldn't be able to stop him once he was there, he did felt bad for disappearing on her, and he knew it would hurt her a lot.
But he had to keep her safe, he knew she hated it when he went off to do something so reckless, and that once she learnt his memories were back she would be relieved if he made it out alive.
And then she would seriously be pissed.
But not even the worst of her anger would deter him from doing this, like Peter once told him, it was better to apologize later than to ask for permission.
A stupid advice, he knew, but this was one of those moments were it was… useful.
Walking was still not good, but he had gotten himself some crutches, so there was that.
Taking an airplane had been hell, even more so because he had no passport nor money, and so he had had to use his gift several times to manipulate humans into giving him the tickets for free and letting him on board.
He almost threw up, but the reminder that it was for Alice had kept his feet on the ground, he couldn't mess it up before starting, he had to protect her at all cost, even if that meant getting her to hate him, to resent him.
Even if that meant losing her, because at the end, it would be better to have her safe and alive than with him and dead.
The ride on the plane had been hell, all those emotions trapped in such a small place, all the heartbeats, blood rushing, so many smells, it had been hell, but he had forced himself to handle it, he couldn't fuck up, he had to do this.
The sudden smack on his arm caught his attention and he turned to look at the wolf who stood by his side, annoyance oozing out of him.
-I said we are here.- Jacob told, to be honest? He wasn't as sure of this plan as he had been before, I mean, he wasn't friends with the guy nor anything, he would honestly not miss him if he got himself killed.
But he did like the little freak, and he did guess he could almost consider her a friend, helping Jasper as he was right now might, would get him her anger which wasn't something he was looking forward to.
Point was, he didn't felt like this was smart, he didn't want Renesmee or Bella to be caught in the crossfire of this whole mess, yes, but he didn't want to be responsible for the death of a guy who couldn't even walk on his own either.
What the hell was he even aiming to do here? He couldn't possibly be stupid enough to seek a fight, right? He was practically walking into the wolf's den, as disturbing as the comparison sounded.
-What are you exactly planning on doing?- He found himself asking, his answer was a scoff.
-Innit a bit too late to ask that? Either so, details are unimportant.- That didn't put Jacob at ease at all, of course he knew he should have asked that earlier, but he had been much too distracted with the idea of Bella or Renesmee being tortured.
He might not know the details, but he's seen enough of this one these past months to know he would rather die than let Bella or Renesmee be put through such hell.
Thus.
-Humor me.
This time, he had his full attention as Jasper turned to look at him, a cold expression on his face, and Jacob wondered just how far did this "some memories came back" thing went, because while the innocent and clueless look of his has been gone for a while now, ever since that incident with that last vampire he's acquired a dangerous glint in his eyes.
As if he were completely and absolutely aware of who he was and what the people around him meant to him and others.
It made his hairs stand on end at times, because unlike the others, this one didn't put up a human facade, he moved like a predator regardless of how weak or injured he was, and he looked around and spoke as if he were smarter and much more cunning than he gave others the impression of.
Like how he had tried to manipulate him using Renesmee, Jacob had to admit he was smart, dangerous even if he could come up with such strategies, but he had let him think he could manipulate him, because at the end, he did want to not risk Renesmee nor Bella's safety.
And if there was a way for all of this to end without a fight, good.
Still.
-Let me rephrase that, the details are none of your business, now, thank you for your help, but this is as far as you go.- Jasper told as a statement of fact, Jacob grabbed the crutch, glaring at him, Jasper glared back at him.
-Please tell me you do have an actual plan and aren't intending on barging in there looking for a fight when you can't even walk.- Jacob's words got him an even piercing glare.
-'m not stupid, of course I've a plan.
-Which is?
-It will work, that's all you need to know.- Jasper assured, pushing Jacob's hand off before starting to walk towards the door, he felt pathetic having to use crutches, it made the image he was aiming for crumble.
But it didn't matter, nothing mattered at all right now, not his image, not his safety, not even having to face Aro after what he did, coming back to the claws of the same people who had torn him apart and put him back together, like putting back together a puzzle with the pieces in all the wrong places.
But he wouldn't be weak, he's been weak and pathetic for far too long. He won't keep on standing by and letting others baby him.
Not anymore.
His emotions and feelings didn't matter, none of it did, and so he pushed it all down, he had to be strong, remind himself that he had the ace under his sleeve, he was the one in control right now.
"You're gonna get yourself killed."- The whisper didn't surprise him, even if it's been what feels like decades since he last heard it, he scowls at it.
-Better me than 'em, her.
"Fair point."- And with that the light fog in his head was gone, The Major had become such a quiet voice, he didn't hear it as much as he used to in the past, at times, he almost forgot it was even there.
He came to a stop infront of the door, and taking in a deep breath, he raised his hand and rammed his knuckles against the wood.
And then he waited.
It didn't took long before the door opened, and he was quite proud at how well he did at not reacting to Felix's sudden apparition.
"Ceramic cracks as fire bursts across his neck, a scream ripping out of his throat against his will as the fire spreads up the back of his skull, pooling across his skull and piercing through his brain, blistering heat, boiling, fire-"
-Aro's been waiting.- Felix's sudden words make his stomach twist, and all of a sudden, his throat closes, a shiver running down his spine as his vision zooms out.
Aro's been waiting.
Aro.
"-A punishment must not be pleasant, what are you complaining about?- Fingers travel down his stomach, fire bursting on his neck as teeth sink into his flesh. Fingers hooking on the waistband of his pants, tugging-
Jasper bites his tongue down until he tastes acid, shaking his head as he brings himself to his full height, doesn't work much well with crutches though.
-Take me to him.- Jasper's quite proud at how steady his voice is, fingers clutching the crutches tightly at the condescending look Felix regards him with.
And still, the man steps aside, giving him space to come in.
Jasper steps in.
~
Texas -
Alice felt like her world was ending, she had spent over two hours aiming and failing at getting even the tiniest glimpse of Jasper.
When she first realized she couldn't see him it had felt like being pushed into a pit of absolute despair and agony, as if she were back into a much too colorless and bitter world where only pain and loneliness existed.
As if her chest had been torn open and her heart ripped out, leaving behind nothing but an open wound that bled and bled until it became an all consuming sea of utter torture.
But then Jacob couldn't be found.
And what could even lead him to leave Renesmee for so long?
Jasper and Jacob disappearing at the same time, and she couldn't see him…
And then Rosalie confessed to her that his memories had been back since María's apparition.
Alice had no idea what to even do with that, he had his memories back, and he disappeared without warning, what the hell could he possibly be doing? For a moment, she had thought he had gone after the Volturi, but then she realized that would be a much too stupid move, even for him.
Then she took her words back.
Because she could suddenly see him, and he was in Volterra.
He.
Was.
In Volterra.
And what the hell was he thinking? How could he go all alone to that place? After all those bastards did to him? What made him think he could face them alone? That he wouldn't be overpowered and chained once again? Why did he always have to make such stupid moves? How did he even manage to get out of the country without papers? No ID. Not even a passport!
God, how did she not notice his memories were back? He had been acting odd since María's apparition, but she had thought it had been his way of coping with what had happened and what he had remembered.
She should have kept a better eye on him.
-It will be alright, they will bring him home.- Rosalie's sudden voice caught her attention and she turned to look at her.
-You don't know that, not even I can see what's gonna happen.- Alice hated this, she hated that she wasn't the one in an airplane right now, Carlisle, Edward and Emmett had been the ones who went to Volterra.
Had insisted on her not going, if she went, she would be giving Aro what he wanted, but God, sitting here while Jasper was probably on the verge of getting himself killed, or worse, trapped to be tortured once again… it made her feel a new kind of impotence, she wanted to scream, to shout, to break something, because why was this happening again? Why was he so damn reckless?
She hated it.
Meanwhile, Rosalie came to sit with Alice on the swing at the porch, taking her hand into her own and rubbing soft circles around her knuckles.
And she couldn't help but curse at how stupid she had been, she should have told Alice the truth from the moment she realized Jasper's memories of her were back, if she had, it might have kept him from doing such a stupid and brainless decision.
What the hell had he been thinking? How could he hurt Alice when he knew full well all she had suffered when she thought him dead? What did he even aim to accomplish with this whole thing? He couldn't walk let alone fight, hell, he couldn't even stand without support for too long!
What made him think it was a good idea to face the Volturi?
-I might not know what's gonna happen, but I do know the Volturi won't risk making the wrong move when it's half of us over there and the other half here, Aro wouldn't want to risk having rumors spread of their abuse of power. Their reputation has plummeted enough as it's.
Rosalie at least hoped she was right on that one, letting Emmett go had been one of the hardest things she's ever had to do in her life, but she did guess Alice was having it worse, because she could very much see what was happening, what could happen.
She did admit she found herself surprised at the knot in her stomach, not just for her family's safety, but also for Jasper's, he was easier to get along with than she ever expected, even with his memories back he was still as quiet as ever.
Stubborn, smart, cunning, a bit impatient at times, and with a great sense of humor, there was also the how he treated people, he was polite, not because he might be afraid or anxious but because it was just natural to him, but as polite as he was he could also become sarcastic enough to make Rosalie smirk sometimes.
She had to admit she liked him, more than she ever thought possible, she's known him for less than five months and she already liked him and cared about his safety, it was incredibly disturbing, but another part of her didn't mind.
Because she liked the comfortable lightness she felt with him, a kind of lightness that made her feel at ease, amused and just flat out relaxed, she could almost consider him a friend.
No, not a friend.
Brother.
That thought struck her like lightning, brother, Alice's words coming back to her.
"He would've been to you what Edward is to me."
Ah.
So that was that feeling, brother… she's never had a good relationship with Edward, and while after Renesmee's birth their had ielationship improved she wouldn't go as far as calling them friends, he was more like that sibling you never grew close to.
Jasper on the other hand… the feeling she gets with him almost reminds her of her two younger brothers when she was human, Ethan and Aiden, just that he wasn't a set of ten year olds running all over the place with seemingly endless energy.
But the point stood, he made her feel that kind of warmth she had felt with her brothers. And the idea of losing that warmth once again… it's not a pleasant one.
She didn't want him to disappear, she's yet to teach him so many things, and he's still got so much to learn and experience, he couldn't disappear now.
-He's always been like that, always putting everyone else before himself, always acting recklessly, always thinking he can do everything on his own.
Rosalie didn't know what to say to that, to her, considering what she's seen of him so far, his recklessness and stubbornness was probably born out of his fear to be left alone, the fact that he was always clinging to Alice, always seeking someone out left it very clear.
And considering what he's been through… she could somewhat understand what would lead him to act like he had a death wish if it meant keeping the few who truly cared about him alive.
Doesn't change the fact that he's a brainless idiot, God, if he made it out alive Rosalie was gonna smack him so hard he would remember it for years to come.
~
Esme sat at the edge of her bed, stroking the soft fabric between her hands lightly, a blue scarf she had been working on these past few days, it had been meant to be a gift for Jasper, Alice had said his birthday would be coming soon and Esme had felt like making something for him.
And now… she might not even get to give it to him, because he had honestly ran off to Volterra. It felt like Edward all over again, not knowing whether he would come back, or if she would have to learn how to live without another son.
Yes, son, because these past months she had grown to love him as if he were her own, he was so sweet and kind, such a beautiful heart he had despite what he's been through…
She couldn't bear to lose him.
Not him, she lost a son already, a baby boy she never got to watch grow, never knew what he might have liked and what he might have hated, she never got to see him smile or hear him laugh, never saw him get married, and now she would never see many of those from a son she was just getting to know.
And it ate at her, so much she had wanted to do with him, to teach him, she hadn't even gotten to talk to Carlisle about getting him something with the family's crest.
She hadn't gotten to truly know him at all.
~
-Mom, is uncle Jasper gonna come back?- Renesmee questioned, her head resting on Bella's lap.
No one told her anything, ever, but she still knew what was happening, even if
Bella for her side didn't answer, what was she even suppose to answer in this situation? She didn't knew what would happen, she didn't want to lie to her daughter by giving her false hope, but she did hope everything turned out alright too.
For Alice's sake.
And also because she did wish to befriend Jasper, she isn't gotten to interact much with him, but he did seem like an interesting person to be around, he was quite cunning at strategic games, and he had a good taste in books.
Plus, he seemed nice.
And he made Alice happy.

Italy, Volterra. -
-Major, so glad we can meet again.- Aro greeted with a smile, Jasper glared at him, crushing down the rising panic, the man's voice alone making his stomach twist and a knot swell at the back of his throat.
Focus, he couldn't give in, he was stronger than that.
-Spare me the act, we need to talk.- Jasper snaps at last, voice cold as he glares even harder at the Volturi's leader.
-Sure we do, what can I do for you?- Aro's voice made Jasper bite back a growl, the man's tone making him grit his teeth, he hated his tone, as if he were mocking him, entertaining a child into believing they had the upper hand.
It made him seethe.
-You're to forget about Alice and the Cullens.- He demanded, leveling Aro with a hard look. Aro narrowed his eyes at him.
-Now, why would I do that? You know perfectly well I can't just turn a blind eye to such potential. Their gifts are most useful.- Aro told as a statement of fact.
-They don't want anythin' to do with the Volturi.- Jasper said, Caius scoffed at him.
-So? Their freedom is a small price to pay compared to the possible extinction of our race because of broken laws.
-So that's it? You take the gifted ones, even if against their will, all to make yourselves an army capable of overpowerin' the humans if it ever comes to it?- Jasper questioned, on one side, he did hate to admit it made sense, it stood to reason that the strongest ones would be pushed forward as a shield to protect their specie from the humans.
Supernatural abilities to give them the advantage…
But on the other hand, it was messed up, to slaughter entire covens just to get their hands on the few.
He would never let Alice become a tool, nor a weapon, she was never meant to learn how it felt like to be regarded as nothing but a weapon, an object, a puppet with no feelings whatsoever that had to obey every single word.
-That's why I like you, you have such a brilliant mind.- Aro's smile made Jasper nauseous, even more so the burst of greed in his emotions, want.
-I would rather die than be an overglorified piece of shit who thinks himself to be above others and sees people as nothin' but assets.- Jasper spat acidly, glaring hatefully at the Italian.
-How dare you!- Caius was infront of him in seconds, violently yanking him by the neck of his shirt, next thing he knows Jasper felt his back hit a wall, heard a crack somewhere above as the wall behind him cracked upon impact.- Who do you think you are to speak to us in such manner?!
-What's wrong? Hit a nerve?- Jasper teased, giving Caius a condescending look and a smirk, one thing he had never stopped doing regardless of how delirious or messed up he was, that had been insulting Caius.
The man was so easy to get a raise of, anger led to umpulsivity, and impulsive acts always led to disaster, that's why Jasper had torn his cheek off, with his teeth, all because Caius thought he could come up to his face without consequences.
He felt the anger slice through his skin like razorblades on fire.
It did caught him off guard the hand that grabbed his neck.
-Maybe we should rip your head in half this time, see how you can recover from that.- Caius said, squeezing his neck so hard Jasper felt fire explode on the side of his neck as the sound of marble cracking reached his ears, acid filling the air.
And for a moment, his heart dropped, shit, no, not yet, this couldn't end here, he was yet to say anything, do anything, he needed to make sure Alice would be safe, the Cullens, he couldn't have his mind broken again, not when he was yet to make a move.
And still.
-Go on, do it.- He found himself daring, voice strained and tears blurring his vision, throat burning, he wanted to be calm, but his heartbeat was pounding in his ears, adrenaline rushing through his veins as fear pooled in his stomach.
The hand on his neck making him glad he was being held against a wall, because right now it felt like he might drop to the ground.
-You think I won't?- Caius snapped, anger rising even more as he tightened his grip on Jasper's throat.
Jasper forced himself to look at Aro, and as their gazes met he gave the man his best arrogant and mocking smirk.
-Wait.- Aro ordered, Caius turned to glare at him, but he still released Jasper, letting him drop to the ground. - What have you done?- Aro demanded.
-I did what I'd to do. You said so yourself before, sometimes, the the ends justify the means.- Jasper told as a statement of fact, he could feel his own blood trickling down his neck from where Caius had split the skin open.
Could feel his hands shaking, making him curl his fingers into fists. He felt small, to be on the ground while the Volturi stood above him, as if he were back there.
And much like before, he couldn't move, the crutches were too far from reach and he didn't trust himself right now to be able to stand on his own.
But he would never give them the pleasure to see him weak, afraid, never again.
Right now, he needed to make the Volturi get in their heads that Alice and the Cullens were off-limits. And he needed to be quick about it, he needed to do so before they realized he was definitely not as strong as he was trying to convey.
Still.
Jasper's expertise, even as a human, has always been being great at manipulating people into bending to his will.
Becoming a vampire and having his charming nature give him a gift capable of doing just that didn't meant he lost it.
-What is that suppose to mean?- Caius demanded sharply.
-Well, for starters, means that there will be more than just armies of newborns and immortal children for the Volturi to be worried about if you don't desist on gettin' your filthy hands on Alice or any of the Cullens for that matter.- He tells, glaring at the group of red robed bastards.
He wished he could use his gift on them, rip to shreds their emotional signatures until nothing but madness was left in their minds, but he couldn't, he isn't been able to use the full extent of his gift since Aro's-
No.
He couldn't think about that now, he had to focus, focus.
Aro for his side… he didn't like this, he had ordered to keep watch over what was The Major doing, but as it turns out, that dog they had with them messed up with more than just Alice's gift.
He had been unable to see nothing but glitches in that useless kid's visions through waters. So what? What had he done?
It was starting to make anger settle in, not knowing anything and feeling like The Major was suddenly the one in control of the situation.
-What. Have you done?- Aro demands sternly.
-You better watch how you answer that, do not think for one second you can step over us.- Caius warns dangerously.
-Oh, but 'm not steppin' over anyone, 'm just merely makin' you aware of a most important… maybe yes maybe not catalyst.- Jasper told, chin held high, he wouldn't bend down to anyone, María had taught him to never let anyone see past the mask.
If he wanted to lie, he had to do it right.
If not, don't bother.
She might have been a walking nightmare, but she had taught him most of what had kept him alive in the South.
-A catalyst for what?- Caius asked, narrowing his eyes dangerously.
-For the humans' knowledge about the vampires of course.- He said easily.
His words still the atmosphere.
-Come again?- Caius asks, a dangerous tone in his voice. Jasper smirks.
-I've friends, you know? Friends who are more than eager to spread certain things given to 'em, evidence let's call it, you said before technology was useless, I beg to differ.
Thanks to Renesmee and Alice Jasper had learnt a new and most fantastic method to get rid of the Volturi without even needing to fight them.
That and some additional help.
-There's currently 25 graphic videos regardin' vampires killin' humans and vampires transitionin' at the hands of several people who won't hesitate to spread it across the internet, which if 'm not wrong, is somethin' most humans have access to.
More like 98% of humanity had access to it.
-Wouldn't it be shameful if that were to happen? You can kill me, but that won't stop it from happenin', and trust me when I tell you it's graphic and real enough to make it impossible to hide behind lies. There's a few who are willin' to show just how real it's. You won't be able to stop it.
-You wouldn't dare. You would be putting your precious little lover in danger.- Demetri said, he's seen enough through those visions through the water to tell that The Major was a lap dog for that woman. He wouldn't put her in danger.
Which would undoubtedly happen if the humans were to find out about vampires.
-I would, very much, dare.- Jasper told as a statement of fact, fingernails digging into his palms, it could be his imagination, but it was starting to feel a bit hard to breathe.
As if the air were growing thinner.
Even his vision was starting to zoom out.
He needed to end this, fast.
And biting back the urge to smile, he spoke.
-You see, she's perfectly safe, same as any… vegetarian vampire, in fact, you, the Volturi, would be the most affected, if not the only affected ones.- Jasper told, he had made more than sure that that's how it was.
Alice and the Cullens wouldn't be put in danger, he would never allow it.
Because while they never became his family, they did became Alice's, and Alice loved them dearly, Jasper loved Alice, and he would always protect anything she loved, he would never put anything she loved at risk.
Never.
-What is that supposed to mean?- Aro asked, narrowing his eyes as he did.
-Haven't you ever stopped to realize that humans have grown to get seriously, and annoyingly obsessed with other people's deaths?- Jasper's question got him more than one confused emotional signature.
None of them had been expecting such words, Jasper couldn't quite blame them, he still found it odd at times, for humans to care about other people's deaths so much, such obsession to find the culprit of the death of someone they didn't even know.
It was strange, Alice said it was their humanity, empathy, to feel so strongly for strangers…
-Missin' children are the worst, quite the worldwide chaos for that one.- Though to be fair missing children had never failed to stir a lot of trouble, but somehow, nowadays it was a hundred times worse than it had been in the past.
So much that at times a whole city could go absolutely wild, people would come from other countries, strangers , all to help look for the missing kids .
It was outstanding, he had to give it that.
-Your point is?- Aro urged, not liking one bit this cryptic conversation. He didn't like this, who were the people with the evidence? The Major knew no one, he was created in the South by María.
But she was dead, he knew that much, The Major had killed her. So, if not her then who? Who else was there? The Cullens couldn't be. Carlisle would never put an entire specie at risk, much less his coven.
But then who was it?
Not for the first time Aro cursed his inability to read The Major's mind, because he had absolutely no idea who this man was speaking with, who were his friends.
Who would Aro need to rip apart to teach them that no one manipulated the Volturi?
-Humans ain't blind, they know somethin's going on in Italy, so many tourists, just disappearin' out of thin air. That can't be right. Wonder who or what is makin' so many people disappear without trace.
-You have no way of proving anything, even if you do have vampires on footage, you can't tie them to us.
-I can, very much, tie 'em to you.- Jasper stated, smirking.
-You are bluffing.- Caius said, Jasper tilted his head to the side, feeling for the first time in a long time like he was in control.
-Am I? Did you know, that there's a total of 70 vampires from the South scattered throughout the world who owe their lives to me?
Or at least that's what they felt like, Jasper never quite liked the idea of people owing him their lives, he just did what had to be done.
-They won't hesitate to do whatever I ask of 'em. 70 of which 20 are gifted. And they're very much willin' to broadcast their gifts to the world, kill in broad daylight, and several of 'em even infiltrated your little castle a while back to get the footage from you killin' dozens of tourists, children, elderlies, pregnant women, even babies.
Because Peter much like Jasper had an interesting view of the world, and he had wanted the footage as blackmail in case the Volturi made a move against Alice.
And Jasper's never been more grateful.
-You've lots of soldiers, but if I'm not mistaken, you don't really have many gifted ones, right?
At Aro's glare he knew he was right.
-You don't have any offensive gifts in your arsenal either, yeah, you've Jane and Alec, but they can't take an army, and they'll certainly be dead by the time they realize what's happenin'.
He cherished the rage that came from the twins, from all the Volturi, but most of all.
He delighted at the look on Aro's face, a man at the verge of exploding out of rage over something he knew was true.
It was beautiful.
The Volturi might be more, much more older and experienced, but Jasper had, in a sense, his own army, retired but that wouldn't hesitate to stand by his side if it came to it, even more so after Peter spread the word of what the Volturi had been intending with The Major.
Make him one of their own despite the fact that he was, theoretically speaking, a war criminal.
It was a nice feeling, to know not all the southern vampires hated him, resented him or wished death upon him.
-You are dead!- Demetri's shout was all the warning Jasper got before he was being slammed against the ground, tiles cracking beneath him as fingers of steel closed around his throat.
Demetri.
He lashed out with his gift, red flashing in his vision as he snarled, freeing himself from the tracker as he slammed his fists against Demetri's ribs, the deafening crack of his ribs reaching his ears.
And he took advantage of the sudden shock from the tracker to switch their positions, slamming him against the floor and swinging his claws across his face, eyeball bursting like a ball of glass, silver spraying on him as the eyeball remains scattered across the tiles like white shards of porcelain.
He remembered much too well what the bastard had commented about Alice.
He had grabbed her neck, grabbed her more than once. Threatening her life, making filthy comments about her body, and Jasper was absolutely done with this bastard.
He tore his arms off, making a point at snapping and twisting it by the elbows so it would hurt more.
And then he dove down, sinking his fangs into his throat, claws digging into the raw sockets where his arms had been at, both to keep him down and also to hurt him as much as possible.
He would make sure he suffered as much as possible, no one who spoke such filth about his woman was to be disregarded.
And it's been what feels like decades since he last tasted venom straight from the source, he makes a point at crushing his trachea, with his teeth, snapping bone and tearing marble-like arteries, ripping skin off.
Hands grab him from behind, and he still manages to tear his own skin open from his hand before using the oozing blood to swing at Demetri's face once again, Aro might want him.
Yes.
But his skills were all keeping the Volturi from killing him, Demetri for what he managed to gather all these years had nothing special about him whatsoever but his gift, which was also useless compared to the rest of the Volturi.
Infecting him with black blood would definitely lead to his execution.
Something he desired more than he could ever begin to explain. He had to die.
-What have you done?!- Jasper didn't regret his actions one bit, not even as he was slammed against the ground, face pressing against the tiles as a hand gripped the back of his head with agonizing might, threatening to shatter his skull.
He tried to get up, but was brought down by a hit on his shoulders, the force of the impact dislocating the bones.
But what kept him on the ground was the knee pressing harshly against the back of his legs, sending explosive whiplashes of pain through his knees as they were twisted just way too wrong.
Something sharp pressed at the back of his neck, sharp, burning, silver knife.
This brute strength and immediate attack towards a sign of weakness he knew it.
Caius.
Was this how it would end? With him dead here? Did his words even help with something? Would Alice be safe? The Cullens?
Had any of this worked at all?
