Chapter 6: The Troll:

Siegfried's POV:

"It's not what it seems." I've become obsessed with it, but then I found the answer. It all makes sense now. I will be able to save Odette and defeat the Sky Demon.

Hans' POV:

Margarita and I were following Odette as she and her unicorn friend were looking for the library.

"I wonder why we're the only ones she can't communicate with," asks Margarita.

"Maybe you have to be magic," I said.

"But the frog, turtle, and puffin aren't magic," says Margarita.

"Well... maybe it's because we're mammals."

"This whole thing is complicated," says Margarita.

"I'm still trying to process the whole swan princess thing," I said.

Odette's POV:

Lila and I found the library and somehow, we had to avoid the troll. Then we heard something.

Erasmus: It is funny to live in Rome and stay with the Pope
It is funny to live in Rome and to stay with the Pope

If you go to Rome, no find fault
If you live in Rome, no talk hard
If you are in Rome, do as the Romans do

Knowledge is power
Example is better than preaching
Knowledge is power
Example is better than preaching

He who loves the glass without tea
Take away Hell and that is he
When you are in Rome, do as the Romans do
And you will get through

It is funny to live in Rome and to stay with the Pope
It is funny to live in Rome and to stay with the Pope

If you go to Rome, no find fault
If you live in Rome, no talk hard
When you are in Rome, do as the Romans do

Knowledge is power, this I know
Knowledge is power, I know, I know
That knowledge is power
Knowledge is power, no matter what

Knowledge is power, all you're gonna do
Knowledge is power, all you're gonna do
Knowledge is power!

The troll then found us.

"For the record," says Lila, "unicorns taste like broccoli."

"I know exactly what to do with you," says the troll.

. . .

We were then having tea with the troll. His name's Erasmus by the way.

"We thought you were going to eat us," says Lila.

"People just assume that because I'm a troll," says Erasmus, "but... it probably doesn't help that I start rumors to keep intruders out. Downside is, I don't get alot of visitors."

"Sounds like poor planning," I said.

"But I can tell you two are good souls," says Erasmus.

"Because Lila's a unicorn, right," I asked.

"Actually, not all unicorns are good," says Lila.

"Oh," I said.

"Nahh, I'm just a good judge of character," says Erasmus.

"Erasmus, can you help us," I asked.

Siegfried's POV:

"It's a mouse," says Bromley.

"Until it changes into a dragon," I said.

"So, the Sky Demon could be anything," asks Giselle.

"We need to practice," I said, "I'll do whatever it takes."

Bromley and Giselle then look at a fly. "You don't think..." Bromley begins.

"Better safe than sorry," says Giselle.

Odette's POV:

We were looking through books. "I found it," says Erasmus, "are you by any chance seeing anyone?"

"I'm... flattered..." I began. I have to be honest, he kind of grosses me out.

"No. If you are, then the one you love can free you by making a vow of everlasting love and show it to the world."

"That's it," asks Lila.

"Siegfried," I said.

"Well, I guess it's lucky you're not single," says Lila.

"There is a catch," says Erasmus, "if he makes it to the wrong girl... you die."

"I really hope he hasn't moved on," I said, "wait, that came out wrong."

To Be Continued

In the next chapter, Siegfried practices.
