EXT. STATE PRISON.
Mid afternoon.
INT. PRISON VISITORS ROOM.
Sections of glass panels, with chairs either side. With telephones both sides also.
Prisoners are talking to their loved ones, family, friends or acquaintences via phone.
INT. TINA MCQUIRE.
Thirty Four Year Old, Brown Eyed, Short Haired lady is escorted into the visiting room by a Guard. She looks around the room, feeling a little uneasy.
Another door is opened by a female guard, opposite side of the glass and opposite side of the room.
INT. WILLIAM MCQUIRE.
Sixty Five Year Old man and father of Tina appears in a white shirt and brown trousers. He smiles at the thought of seeing is off spring and is warmed that she has come to visit him.
Tina appears nervous at seeing him and walks to the glass window. William walks to face her opposite side of the glass and both sit opposite each other. Tina picks up the phone, as does Billy, who can't contain his emotions. He stutters a little.
BILLY
Hi, love.
TINA
Daddy.
The two feel awkward momentarily. Billy seems anxious.
BILLY
How are you?
TINA
I'm O.K. You?
BILLY
Over the moon seeing you.
Tina nods, finsing words hard to come by.
BILLY
How's your brother?
TINA
He's fine. He flew to New York with me.
Billy hesitates for a moment, seeing as Greg didn't come with his twin to visit their father.
BILLY
And you came to visit me alone...again.
TINA
I can't force him Dad. Greg still blames you for everything that happened to him.
BILLY
I know that. I suppose your mother still feels the same. She still seeing that Airline Pilot?
TINA
No.
BILLY
Got fed up of her did he?
Tina doesn't take too kindly to her father comment, when she gives him a grumpy stare. Billy sees how offended his daughter is by his insinuation and immediatley regrets it.
BILLY
Sorry. I shouldn't have said that.
How is she?
TINA
She's good. Her flower business is doing pretty well.
BILLY
Glad to hear it. Give her my regards.
TINA
I will when I speak to her.
BILLY
You're looking well. No matter what has happened, you're still my baby girl. And I regret...
Tina interrupts Billy, as she feels he doesn't need to keep convincing her, he's reformed.
TINA
Daddy. I know.
BILLY
Do you? I've been in prison for a triple murder I didn't commit.
TINA
I don't think you did it either.
BILLY
But, in your eyes, it's teaching me a lesson. I know I've done a lot of things - a lot bad - but them Crocetti's set me up good and proper. If it weren't for them, you'd still have my Grand Child.
TINA
It's possible. I may still have given Scarlett away.
BILLY
Then why?
Tina feels frustrated by the conversation.
TINA
I told you why.
BILLY
The people that were trying to get even with me, wouldn't have come after you. You didn't have to give her away to protect her. Or was there something else?
TINA
I loved Scarlett, more than life itself. It was a lot of things.
BILLY
Well, since you're headed back to New York, are you considering seeing Harry again? I hear he's one of the Big Apples top Architects.
TINA
It had cross my mind. I don't want, my personal life, interfering with my ambitions on Broadway. And since when did you care about my feelings for Harry. I haven't seen him in Sixteen Years, since...that horrible day.
BILLY
I was just merely asking. I want to see you happy.
TINA
Well, if and when I decide to visit you again, don't expect to see me jumpy and jiving. Coming to places like this makes my skin crawl.
Billy hesitates for a moment.
BILLY
I've applied for parole again.
Tina rolls her eyes.
TINA
That's the twenty thousanth time isn't it?
(sarcastic)
BILLY
So even me being an innocent man, you think I deserve to be in here?
TINA
Of course not. I told you, I don't believe you murdered Harry's folks.
BILLY
Do you think, he believes I did it or didn't?
TINA
Don't force me to ask him. He mean't a lot to me.
BILLY
Well, you may found out from T.V. this week.
Tina frowns in confusion.
TINA
T.V.?
BILLY
I'm going to appear on Unsolved Mysteries on Wednesday night. You know with Robert Stack. Harry has apparently given an interview also. Soon find out what he thinks of me and who may have wanted his Mother and Father dead.
TINA
Well, you are full of surprises aren't you Daddy?
BILLY
I've been in here long enough. I'm getting out of here, even if I have to bust out of here.
