Link's eyes were filled with surprised as they observed the gift he'd just found underneath his Christmas tree.
He held it in his hands. It was covered in shiny golden wrapping paper with a label hanging off the end of it. He silently read the message which had been scrawled upon it - instantly realising who it was from by the beautiful handwriting.
Dear Link
Here's your Christmas gift from me. You've truly earned it after all you've done throughout the year, so think of it as a token of my gratitude. It's the least I can do after you've rescued me, saved Hyrule and foiled the evil plans of Ganondorf. I am so grateful to have you in my life as my hero, my protector - and my friend.

Link's heart raced as a bright smile filled his face. A Christmas gift from Zelda was truly special to him. He couldn't find the words to express how elated he was - which was just as well, seeing he was a person of few words.
What could this present from Zelda be? Link could barely wait to find out. He tore off the wrapping paper, throwing it over his shoulder - before his jaw fell open as he found out what the princess had given him for Christmas.
It was a sword.
Link was overjoyed. He had never been so happy to receive such an amazing gift. He wordlessly took in how strong and sturdy the sword looked. Holding it by its handle, he swished it through the air. He felt so strong and powerful to be wielding with such a tough weapon. This was just what a brave young warrior like himself needed to protect the kingdom from threats. Ganondorf was going to have a tough time fighting him when he was armed with this.
Never before had Link received a gift which made him so happy. He was so pleased to receive such a fantastic present - which was extra special since it had come from Zelda. To be given a sword had really made his Christmas…
…just like the other countless swords he already had from being sent to him over every Christmas by Zelda.
