"Hi there, Jess!" Fiona called enthusiastically
"Whoa! Looks like you're, uh, full of enthusiasm today." said Jess
"Enthusiasm, huh? You might even call it GLEE!" said Fiona
"Well, it's nice to see you so happy." said Jess
"Well I'm not ALWAYS this way. I was just getting excited, remembering my glory days. At my old school, being part of the glee club was one of my main things... Singing and dancing are my two favorite things EVER. So a club that lets you do BOTH is the ultimate!"
"Heh. It does sound pretty fun."
"To be honest, it's been kind of bumming me out that we don't have a glee club here. Without glee in my life I'm just less gleeful!"
"Sounds like there's an easy way to fix this problem. I'll help you start a glee club!"
"That's amazing! We'll do it! Can you sing? Can you dance?!"
"I can do both." Jess sings and dance in front of Fiona she claps
"That's a great start! This is going to be the best glee club ever!There's no time to waste! Sectionals are just around the corner!"
"Sounds like we'd better get started." said Jess
"Yeah. I have to admit, I wouldn't mind giving my old school a run for their money. The lead soloist kicked me off the team because he thought I'd steal his spotlight! But I don't even care who does the solos. I just want to sing!"
"Sounds like your old glee club could use a little competition and we're just the people to beat them!"
"Sounds good! I'll put together a sign-up sheet!" Fiona tacks a sign-up sheet onto the school's bulletin board. Matt rushed to signed up. "I want to join I love watching Glee."
"I know I watched all the seasons." said Matt
"We got one." said Jess
A while later, Jess and Fiona check the sign-up sheet.
"Payton also signed up." said Jess
"She talented at singing." said Fiona
"Am I on the team? I like to try Glee Club?" Payton asked
"You're on the team Payton." Fiona smiled "That's what I'm walking about! Now we just have to get backup singers."
"Maybe a little performance would show off our skills... and entice a few more people to join." said Jess
"Awesome idea! We can practice and then perform at lunch tomorrow!" Fiona smiled
"I'll spread the word and make sure we get a huge audience!" Jess smiled
"You bring the crowd and we'll bring the show!" said Fiona
The glee club practiced together to learn the song and dance step. Next day at lunch, a crowd gathers to see the glee club perform.
"Okay, trust me, guys. You're going to love this." said Jess
"I don't see why we need a glee club. The cheerleaders already provide cheer! That's the same thing as glee!" Sierra pointed
"Yeah, I don't get it. It's like playing a karaoke game without the game!" James pointed
"It's just singing as far as I can tell. True art needs to tell a story!" said Carlos
"Just give it a chance. You might change your minds!" said Jess
The glee club comes on stage and begins to sing and dance.
"Got my hands in my pockets." Matt sang
"And I'm staring down at the floor." Payton sang
The crowd clapped at the their performance
"Oh wow! I LOVE this song! Maybe GLEE really is different than CHEER!" said Sierra
"And getting a live audience's reaction to your singing is pretty sweet. It's like a music-themed MMORPG... IRL!" said James
"That was so much more than mere singing... it was a true PERFORMANCE!" said Carlos
"It looks like the performance was a hit!" The performance ends, Jess circulate through the crowd. "Okay... who wants to sign up?"
Everyone raised their hand
"You can count on my voice." said Sierra
"And my theater skills!" said Carlos
"And my beatboxing skills! Bet you didn't know I had THAT hidden talent, did you?!" James beatbox everyone claps at James
A total of six people sign up!
"We did it! We've got a full squad!" Jess cheered
"Does that mean... we're ready for sectionals?" Matt asked
"No way! Before that, we've got to practice. And we're going to need some awesome costumes!" said Fiona
"Good call. Let's start with outfits for the female backup singers." said Jess
"That means shopping!!!!! Everyone to the mall!!" Payton squealed
The female backup singers came out wearing costume Fiona picked
"These costumes look amazing!" said Jess
"Clothing coordination for the win! But I can pick out my own clothes, right?" Payton asked
"Sure thing! The leads can wear what they want. It'll make them stand out." said Fiona
"Heh. Perfect." Matt chuckled
The backup male singer came out wearing costumes Fiona picked out
"The cut of the shirt will really accentuate the backup singers' physiques." said Payton
"And they're a near-perfect match with the girls' outfits!" said Jess
"Another clothing coordination victory!" said Payton
"Time for our last few practices!" said Fiona
Over the next few practice after school, the glee club becomes a well-oiled machine.
"My solos are ROCKING! La la la la la la la la LAAAAA!" Payton sang
"And my harmonies are really coming along!" Matt practiced
"And check out THESE moves! That's some choreography!" Jess danced
"My old team isn't going to know what hit them!" Fiona smiled
"In that case, I think you're saying." said Jess
"We're ready for sectionals!" Fiona cheered "Okay, everyone. The bus is here!"
"A six-hour bus trip with a bunch of glee kids. I think I know what THAT means." Payton squealed
"Singing, and lots of it!" Fiona smiled
"It might be good to warm up for the sectional I brought a karaoke machine!" Maya hold a karaoke machine
"Who's ready to sing for six hours straight?!" Willow asked
"Me, me, me!" Elijah raised his hand
"As long as you can promise to avoid 'The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round', I'm in." said Matt
"I'll take it off the song list immediately." said Fiona
The team gets into the bus and heads to sectionals. After a long bus trip.
"We're here!" said Fiona
"That went by way too fast!" said Maya
"I can't wait for the ride back!" said Kate
"Best bus trip ever!" Elijah cheered
"I can't wait for our performance!" Payton cheered
"I'll go check us in while everyone else gets ready." said Jess
"Sounds good... and make sure you watch out for my old team! They've been known to play dirty, so we'd better be careful!" said Fiona
A little later.
"Okay, everyone. Ready to go on?" Fiona asked
"My vocal cords are all warmed up and ready to rock." Matt warm up his vocals
"I'm ready too but I think we're missing one thing! Our soloist! I haven't seen Payton in an hour!" said Jess
"Oh no! We've got to go find her ASAP!" Fiona panics
"Okay, everyone. We've got to find Payton. Now!" said Jess
"I'll check outside." said Julian
"I'll check in the main lobby." said Fiona
"Fiona, wait... If we DON'T find Payton, we're going to need someone else to sing her solo." said Jess
"That's not an option. No one else is as good as she is!" said Fiona
"That's where you're wrong. I've heard you singing backup for her you've totally got the talent to pull this off!"
"That's that's not an option!"
Fiona turns and heads to the lobby.
"I guess we'd better find Payton!" said Jess
"Payton! There you are!" said Fiona
"Don't look so worried, Fiona! I was just hanging out with a few new friends!" Payton points to a nearby group of students, dressed in matching tuxes and cocktail dresses.
"That's my old team!" Fiona exclaimed
"Really? Why'd you say they're mean?! They were super nice to me! They even bought me ice cream!" said Payton
"Ice cream? Don't you know dairy coats your vocal cords?!" Fiona exclaimed
"That's silly! I'm sure I can sing just fine." Payton tries to sing a scale. "La la la la la la la la... urk! Oh no! You're right!"
"What are we going to do now? It's over, guys. Payton can't perform." said Fiona
"So that's it? Are you just going to give up and go home? ...or are you going to do the solo?!" said Jess
"I... I can't! I'm a backup singer. Not a star!" Fiona panics
"That's just what the people at your old school wanted you to believe!" said Jess
"I... I don't know if I can do it!" said Fiona
"Come on, Fiona! Dig deep! This is your moment!"
"Is Fiona okay?" Payton asked
"Not star... backup singer..." Fiona panic
"Uh... I'm not sure..." said Matt
"Just give London a second, guys." said Jess
"We don't HAVE a second. We're scheduled to go on next!" said Matt
"Come on, Fiona. if you're going to find your inner star, it's got to be soon!" said Jess
Fiona stands very still, eyes-closed.
"Fiona? Are you ready to go on?" Jess asked
Just then, Fiona old team walks by.
"I can't believe those jerks gave me ice cream!" Payton glared
London's old team just laughs and keeps walking. As they leave you hear something that sounds like... 'Fiona... just a backup singer...' Suddenly, Fiona's eyes fly open.
"We haven't lost yet... Jess, I'm ready for my solo!" said Fiona
"Heck yeah!" Matt cheered
The glee club flies onstage, and the performance begins! At first, everyone is singing together.
"It is the first day.." Matt sang
"don't know where I stand anymore." Alex sang
As everyone sings, they do a coordinated dance.
"Got my hands in my pockets." Willow sang
"I'm staring down at the floor." Jess sang
The team performs a complicated set of dance moves: flips, pirouettes, and headspins! Until the moment arrives for Fiona's big solo! Fiona takes center stage. "It's okay if I don't figure out everything overnight... It's too late to turn back now. Gotta fight! Gotta be... everything that I can!"
Fiona rocks the solo! As the performance ends, the audience explodes in applause! Fiona old team snarled at Fiona
"You did it, Fiona!" Jess cheered
"WE did it!" Fiona cheered
Later...
"I can't believe we did it! First place!" Fiona cheered
"Woohoo!" Jess cheered
"I'm just happy my ice cream snack didn't cost us the victory!" Payton cheered
"The best part was when I got to yell 'Two'. That rocked!" Alex cheered
"It was ALMOST as good as when I yelled 'Three'!" Kate cheered
"Guys, come on. CLEARLY me yelling 'One' was the best!" Matt cheered
"Let's just agree that it was fun... and we were all good!" said Alex
Fiona smiled hugging Jess "Thanks for everything, Jess! I never could have done it without you!"
"Any time, Fiona. Just try not to forget the little people once you're a star!" Jess smiled
"That mean Glee party!!!" Payton cheered planning the party the Glee club chuckled
Back at school Payton throw a glee party inviting the whole school the Glee Club perform on stage Demi deejaying, Fiona rocks the solo
"It is the first day.." Matt sang
