Chapter 34: You're Just An Enemy

As the dust settles on the battlefield Pyre was seen standing triumphantly over Calamity Shadow.

The charmander's form change dissipated leaving him a simple sapphire tailed charmander, with no other colors mixing with his flames. "Looks like I win." He chuckled looking over the darkrai.

Suddenly Calamity Shadow lunged up again grabbing Pyre by the face and suddenly burning his mark in. "If I cannot defeat you physically, I will simply make you my slave!"

Pyre collapsed to his knees as the darkrai held him. He forced himself to grab the darkrai's face.

Suddenly a wave of dark energy erupted from behind Calamity Shadow and seemed to immediately spread behind him. At the same time, I bright pure light erupted behind Pyre doing the same.

The two energies seemed to fight visibly pushing against each other. The darkness was slowly pushing forward. With each passing second it seemed to consume Pyre, bit by bit, all over his body, shutting out the light.

Until finally the last vestiges of light were his eyes.

"This world, is mine! All worlds, will be mine!" The calamitous darkrai let out a maniacal laugh.

"You are not seriously going to allow this pale immitation to defeat you, are you Pyre? You are far too strong for that." Shadow's voice came, the real Shadow, his Shadow.

"Yeah, come on dude, you can't lose to a fake Shadow. We wanna see you again dick nips." Blade's voice came as well.

"Come on Pyre, you're a badass. You're my best bro, don't let this jerk beat you!" Rai's voice joined the chorus.

"You've got this Pyre, you know you do. Keep on going!" Russ' voice joined as well.

"Do it Pyre, I didn't fall for you just to watch you die, you better come back in one piece!" Ivy's voice spoke up.

"We're in this together Pyre, we made this team! We're heroes! And heroes don't lose!" Cobalt called to him.

"You saved me from a bad family, and you helped make a new one, so you better come back to us ya hear!" Aqua spoke as well.

"I'm so proud of you, I'm sorry we never got to properly meet." Ember, his father, joined the voices.

"You're more amazing than I ever imagined, I wish I could've been with you." Ferna, his mother spoke up.

"Who knew, I'd end up with the coolest little brothers ever!" Tin, his brother, spoke as well.

"Thanks for making us a family again big bro!" Eclipse joined in.

"Don't go losing now handsome, I'd hate for our son to meet you too soon. He's a handful, but he's got your energy. So fight on, win. So Kindlin can see how amazing his dad is!" Cynder spoke lovingly.

"Win daddy! You're the best!" A sweet boyish voice called out. "Me and mommy love you!"

Pyre felt as though he was surrounded, and being hugged by his loved ones, with even a small spectral fennekin nuzzled up to him.

It was only a second to the rest, but it felt like minutes to Pyre, hearing all his friends supporting him. Suddenly, the light exploded out of him almost immediately shutting out the darkness. Pyre stood up as Calamity Shadow was forced to the ground again.

Light consumed the darkrai, sending him sliding backwards on the ground. "No, no no no no no no!" He cursed and struck the ground. Or he would have, but one of his arms had already started to fade away. "I will take you with me you little bastard!"

The darkrai lunged forth, but simply passed through the charmander.

"Too late, guess you should've been a better person." Pyre smiled weakly and sat down in front of him. "The worst thing is, despite all the bad stuff you've done. And what you did to me specifically…I can't bring myself to hate you. Not really anyway."

"Do not patronize me!"

"Honest, you made me really mad, I wanted to hate you. I did, but my heart wouldn't let me."

"You sicken me with your goodness." The darkrai continued fading away, already only his head remained.

"I know, but at least I'm keeping ya company. Not that you deserve it. I just can't leave ya alone like this, I'd feel bad about it."

"Do you…do you think I'll see Blade again? Wherever I end up?"

"Probably not, but if you're anything like my Shadow and Blade, you're probably going to the same place so maybe." Pyre gave a sweet smile.

"Lying doesn't suit you, but thank you." Calamity Shadow fully faded away.

"Oof, that was intense." Pyre laid down on his back, exhausted.

"PYRE!" Ivy suddenly landed on Pyre's chest and started hugging him tight. "Don't you ever do that to me again you hear me!"

"Hehe, okay, but uh, careful please, broken arm, lots of bleeding…" Pyre chuckled as he fell back. "Actually, I think I need a doctor…" Pyre abruptly lost consciousness.

*Within Pyre's Dream*

"Hey, sorry I'm back so soon." Pyre smiled at Cynder.

"I'm not complaining." Cynder smiled as she snuggled up to the sitting charmander.

"Me neither!" A small fennekin with blue fur in his ears snuggled up only to be suddenly lifted.

"So, you're Kindlin? My little guy!" Pyre smiled looking the little fennekin in the eyes. "Aww you're so cute!"

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about him."

"Ah, it's fine, he's a cutie! Wish we planned names together though…" Pyre gave a small frown. "But ya chose a great one, Kindlin! Lovely name for a lovely guy!" Pyre snuggled close to both of them.

"I love you daddy!" Kindlin spoke happily.

"I love you too buddy."

"Daddy needs to go now sweetie." Cynder spoke softly lifting the smaller fennekin onto her back.

"I hope we can be together again. Even just here in my dreams." Pyre gave Cynder a kiss and hugged them both.

*Waking World*

Pyre awakened to find his arm carefully wrapped in vines. "Oof, I'm not feeling great."

"Finally, I was worried about you." Ivy spoke as he sat up beside Pyre. "You've been out for almost three days!"

"Oh jeez, thats a while." Pyre stretched and stood up. "I need to move around a bit."

"We can walk to the main square." Ivy, stood up and helped Pyre. "I know you can move on your own, but please let me help you."

"Okay." Pyre nodded and allowed the snivy to help. After a short few minutes they came to the square. Looking around, everything seemed brighter than when they arrived. More vibrant and lively. And they immediately turned toward the Polteageist Cafe.

Upon entering inside Kettle called out to them. "Look who's up and about! Hey, sweetest pancakes ya can make!" He called to the raichu in the back. The two sat down at the counter happily.

"Thanks Kettle, I'm starved!" Pyre smiled happily.

"Oh, and a little gift from Lucario." Kettle slid an Oran Shake to Pyre. "Said he owed ya for it."

"So, what's happened over the last few days. Looks a lot better around here." Pyre smiled.

"Well, since you beat the Calamity all the remaining lightless pokemon seem to have returned to normal apparently." Ivy began. "A lot of them were apparently exploration and rescue teams. Explains why we didn't meet many."

"Oh that's great!"

"Yep, also this hole opened up at Whiscash's pond and apparently it's where the pokemon of this world evolve." Ivy continued as a couple plates of pancakes slid in front of them. "Any interest in that?"

Pyre immediately started digging in. "Oh these are amazing!" He smiled as he happily ate the pancakes. "Hmm, nah, I like being a Charmander. Don't need anything else!"

"Well that's nice. Oh, and Cobalt has really grown the rescue team. Sentinels is doing better than ever. Got hundreds of new recruits and they've done so many jobs at this point that apparently we're diamond ranked already!" Ivy smiled at Pyre.

"Hey thas grea!" Pyre spoke through a mouth full of food. "Delicious!"

"And well, the giant wall around Firelink Square was taken down, since there's no real danger anymore. Oh, and if you didn't notice there was some construction being done on our house, apparently shipping it like your head."

"Awesome! That's gonna be cool!"

"I'm really glad you're awake. I was really worried about you."

Pyre smiled at Ivy. "I appreciate you being here for me. Through all of this. It was really sweet!" He leaned over and kissed Ivy on the cheek. "I'm really glad we met."

"Me too!" Ivy kissed him back. "Youre the best guy I know."

"Same, you're amazing." Pyre smiled as he scarfed down the rest of the pancakes, quickly drinking some of his shake. "This is a lot harder with one hand hehe."

"Could a fooled me." Kettle slid some pancakes to Ivy. "You need to eat too handsome. Haven't seen ya since you guys got back."

"You haven't been eating?" Pyre asked worriedly.

"I didn't have an appetite, I was too worried to eat." The snivy replied as he started eating. "So I stayed with you the whole time."

"Its sweet that ya stayed. I really appreciate it." Pyre kept drinking his shake.

"So, you're awake. So glad to hear that." Cobalt hopped up beside him. The mudkip gave a sweet smile. "Hey, Kettle, you got all that stuff ready?"

"Yep, it's all set up for when you're ready."

"Ready for what?" Pyre looked over.

"Well, it's not a surprise, so we've been planning a party to celebrate you saving us from the calamity." Cobalt smiled. "Kettle is catering for it."

"A lot easier with all the rescue teams back. Can get all the supplies I need whenever now." Kettle gave a happy chuckle. "Helps that the sentinels rescue team has been helping out financially as well."

"Oh wonderful, putting my families money to good use." Pyre smiled.

"Ya told me to, so I am." Cobalt nodded happily.

Ivy finished off his pancakes. "That's awesome."

"Just heard you were up so I stopped by to see how you're doing, gotta get back to coordinating the team." Cobalt nodded and hopped down from the stool and walked out of the cafe.

"I'm feeling kinda tired, mind if we head back home?" Pyre looked to Ivy.

"Sure, come on." Ivy helped him down, and they walked back to their home.

After a short walk back the two came back into the house.

Pyre immediately laid down and made a beckoning motion. "Cuddle with me please." Ivy quickly moved over hugging Pyre as they both laid down. "Thank you."
