Eira Byrnison Chapter 7
Unlike Eira, who stayed behind to dig up her armor, Lyra and Pantalaimon gave chase to Iorek as he goes on a rampage throughout the town in search for his armor.
"This is not good," said Panatlaimon, worriedly. "He's going to tear everything apart. We've got to stop him!"
Everyone, they could look people are scrambling for cover, fleeing for their lives from this violent bear's path.
Struggling heartily to keep up with him, panting from the exertion, Lyra begged "Iorek! Stop! Iorek!"
Not even listening, ignoring her pleas, Iorek rams into the front of the oratory. The frightened priest vacates the premises, not wanting to be the first victim of Iorek's fury once he retrieves what he came here for.
The Magisterium seeks to stop Iorek before he can succeed.
A Magisterium official, Mr. Sysselman, arrives with armed officers to subdue Iorek. As they take up positions around the square a second priest is thrown from a stained-glass window with a cross on it.
He must've attempted to prevent Iorek from taking his armor and is met with this response instead.
Growling Iorek steps into the light, now bearing armor that he hasn't set eyes on or worn in many, many seasons.
A force to be reckoned with.
As is Eira.
The Magisterium fire their rifles at Iorek, but thanks to his newfound protection the bullets simply ricochet right off.
Before any of these impudent imbecilic can even reload their weapons Eira arrives. Roaring she bulldozes into the line of officers throwing and tossing them everywhere.
Torsten is riding in a basket his mother would normally use to carry food. The cub is enjoying the ride, squealing in glee from all the bumping and jostling, poking his nose out to watch everything yet keeping the majority of his body inside.
These men will not go unpunished for treating them so terribly for so long.
Husband and wife attack. Without their weapons loaded these monsters don't stand a chance. Eira focuses on keeping the officers back as Iorek deals with the cowardly Sysselman.
Iorek has the man on the ground lying on his stomach, desperately trying to crawl away but Iorek's not allowing that. Trapping the pinned Sysselman beneath his body Iorek bites deeply into the man's back, causing him to shriek in agonizing pain. Just when he's about to deal the most fatal blow in vengeance Lyra steps in.
"Stop," screamed Lyra.
Iorek directly into an upturned Sysselman's face, planting a gigantic paw over it. Sysselman whimpers pathetically, fearing he'll perish from his head being crushed so callously.
"Let go of him," said Lyra.
"I told you if I fight, they die," reminded Iorek, fiercely.
"You owe me a debt, now you can repay it," said Lyra, reasonably. "Do as I ask, don't fight these men."
"You owe her a debt, too. Damn, Iorek. You're racking up debts faster than me," said Lee Scoresby, Hester trailing at his booted feet, surveying his eyes over the crowd for any further hostile characters that may contemplate retaliating against them. "Heard there was some trouble occurring. I thought I'd…come to see what's going on. Hello again, Mr. Sysselman. Are you having fun? I hope so."
Holding out her hand invitingly to Iorek, Lyra said "Just turn around and walk away with me. Please."
"She's just a kid but she talks some sense. These people need our help, Iorek. Let's go give it," said Lee Scoresby, firmly. "This isn't who you are."
Meaning Iorek isn't a beast.
He's an Ice Bear and an Ice Bear is not a fool.
"My Love," said Eira, softly, drawing his eyes to her. "It's time."
They'd made their point. This family is not to be messed with again or else there will be more deadly consequences to follow.
This town will think twice before crossing them again.
Least of all this is not the way they want to teach to their cub.
Iorek throws his head up, roaring mightily into the sky.
Lyra and Lee Scoresby exchange grins, recognizing this as his answer.
Iorek releases Mr. Sysselman, stepping over him as he and his family follow Lee Scoresby and Lyra to the Gyptian encampment.
No one dares to stop them.
The Gyptians are almost done packing up all their supplies and gear. They arrived just in time.
Spotting the Ice Bears behind Lyra, both of them wearing full armor, eyes wide, John Faa said "How did you-?"
"They've been mistreated and tricked. Just like the Gyptians have been, always, mistreated and tricked. He's practically Gyptian. Just like I am," argued Lyra.
Angrily, John Faa said "Lyra, you cannot constantly be disobeying me."
"I agree. Who wants a disobedient kid? But she's right. They're good bears. You won't have any trouble," promised Lee Scoresby, vouching for their worth and character easily. "As long as you pay them, and me."
"And who's this," demands John Faa.
Aiming reproachful eyes at Lyra, blinking in surprise, Lee Scoresby said "You told me he asked for me."
Cringing from the deceit she had to play to get him here, rewording what she told him, Lyra said "No, I told you he'd be grateful for you."
Not exactly a lie but closely resembles one.
"I was working on him already being grateful. You've entirely messed up my sales pitch," whispered Lee Scoresby, indignantly.
Rolling her eyes, smiling impishly, Lyra said "What did I tell you about how I play cards?"
Licking his lips and clearing his throat as he moves to stand before John Faa, holding out a hand to shake, Lee Scoresby said "Lee Scoresby. I can fight and I can fly. I don't come cheap and neither should I. You'll get gold or gold. And you are going to need all the help you can get."
Knocking the hand aside when she sees John Faa isn't going to take it, Lyra said "He's an aeronaut. He has his own balloon. He could be useful."
Unable to deny the logic in the facts behind the argument, John Faa said "Well, then, welcome aboard, Lee Scoresby. We have a long and dangerous journey ahead."
Lee Scoresby tips his hat to John Faa, heading off to ready his own equipment and materials.
"Do not fear. My mate, cub, and I can pull our weight. You can be sure of that," reassured Eira.
And so Iorek, Eira, and Torsten finally set foot out of this awful seaside town and into the vast unknown.
What awaits them beyond after all this time?

By the way whose been watching House of the Dragon? I am so in love with Prince Daemon. He is a dream. Matt Smith was the perfect person to play that character. Similar to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool no one could've done it better.
