POV WEDNESDAY

It had been a little over a week since Enid had sentenced that she would no longer bother her, things had strangely turned out as she expected since the blonde was the one who had resolved to stay away but still it was still complicated, everything was torturous and not the kind of torture she enjoyed. Because now her martyrdom involved longing, nostalgia and jealousy, it was ironic how she could miss someone so much when she was only a few meters away, but it was not her presence that she demanded but everything she implied, she felt the imperious need to hear her laughter, to listen to her voice chattering for hours; to see her dance to that annoying music, to feel how she rested her head on his shoulder or his lap while she read, the warmth of her hugs, to share the free time, she needed the usual Enid but she had once again spoiled things, she had corrupted what they had; Enid didn't look at her like the rest of her classmates, she didn't look at her anymore, she limited himself to greet her and when she wasn't doing one of her many activities, she met with one of her classmates, which was annoying, but not as much as when she was with Ajax, the time that until a few days ago was for the two of them was now shared with the boy and she could feel her blood boiling with every touch, approach or physical contact they had, it was obvious that the young man's intentions were not only friendly and that made her feel sick; Maybe it was time to listen to Tanaka and not waste opportunities so she decided that she would no longer fight against her instincts, because she could stand many things but something that exceeded her resistance was to see how they courted the lycanthrope, she closed her book and stood up with the clear intention of retaliating against the gorgon but she was interrupted before starting her task.

"They look good together, don't they?" said Xavier, who apparently had noticed where Wednesday's gaze was directed. She just remained silent with her gaze fixed on her target. "I was thinking you could be of help" interrupted the young man once again. "Ajax wants to get Enid back, you know, but he's not quite sure about what she feels, so he's afraid of making a wrong step and she'll walk away" he commented, catching the goth's gaze this time "And since you're Enid's best friend, I considered the possibility that you could enlighten us with the answer" he concluded with a pathetic smile on his face.

"What makes you think I want to help you?" questioned the psychic, turning to walk away from the scene.

"Come on Wednesday, it's not that hard" pleaded the boy as he followed the black-haired girl who was leaving at a fast pace.

"I prefer the ordeal of the wheel" she said, annoyed.

"I promised to help Ajax"

"Do not include me"

"Just give us a clue!" he insisted enthusiastically.

"I'm not going to help you"

"Is Enid interested... Yes, no, maybe?"

"Only someone more idiotic than him wouldn't notice the fact that she deserves better"

"Why do you always have to ruin things?" He growled angrily as he grabbed the young woman's arm roughly so that she stopped dead in her tracks.

"Let go of me"

"I told you I promised my friend"

"It's your problem and even if I knew the answer I wouldn't tell you"

"I've always been good to you, I'm there when you need me, and you can't do me a simple favor" he said with obvious annoyance.

"I didn't ask you for anything"

"You're a real bitch Wednesday. You are garbage…"

"Let me go, Xavier" she ordered as she tried to break free from his grip.

"Answer what I asked you first!"

"Let her go!" She told you to let her go, " Enid imposed authoritatively, who had spotted the situation from a distance and couldn't help but intervene; especially because it was Xavier, the cartoonist's evident interest in the goth was never a mystery and no matter how much Enid tried not to let it affect her, it bothered her and quite a lot, because she was almost certain that Wednesday was also interested in him at some point.

"There is no need to fight" said Ajax trying to calm the lycanthrope who continued to advance towards his friend but this time showing her claws.

Xavier, who at first was confused by the blonde's imposing gaze, ended his grip taking a step back after a few seconds. "We'll talk later" he muttered to the goth who only had eyes for the she-wolf, and hell, if there was one thing Wednesday loved it was the way the blonde could go from being the most gentle and harmless young woman to a lethal weapon in the blink of an eye.

"You will talk only if she agrees" the lycanthrope blurted out as she approached the young man in a defiant manner.

"It's okay" Xavier answered submissively, because Enid's sweet look was gone and he swore that through those blue eyes he could see the wolf ready to attack.

"And don't hold her like that again, okay?" she said as the change in size of his canines became more evident.

"Ok…"

"Enid!" Interceded the seer, as she was certain that at any moment she would take her lupine form and attack the boy, "I think the message was clear" she murmured, capturing her companion's attention and then leaving the place.

The blonde saw her walking away and regained her composure and followed her steps. There was something she needed to clarify at that moment, were they dating? If not, why did she decide to mediate in that situation? The Wednesday she knew would never deprive herself of a dose of violence unless it was against someone she cared about.

"I know I promised not to bother, but are you really defending him?" questioned the annoyed blonde as she walked by Wednesday.

"It was not my purpose to defend him"

"I intervened because I thought I was hurting you!"

"And I thank you for your mediation, although it was not necessary. I know how to defend myself"

"I know you know how to defend yourself, but your boyfriends have a reputation for being somewhat aggressive" she said, hoping that the psychic would deny a relationship with Xavier.

"I don't need a bodyguard"

"I understand, I will no longer interfere in your affairs Wednesday" she said with a lump in his throat as he left her to continue on her way alone.

Shit, why didn't I just say thank you and be done with it, thought the goth, as if the situation wasn't bad enough, she always managed to make everything even worse. Xavier was right about one thing, she always screwed things up she thought sadly as she headed to her room.

Gnossienne No. 1 was playing on the gramophone while the psychic lay on her bed staring blankly at the opposite side of the room.

She was not the type of person who enjoyed starvation, she was a productive person and wanted to make the most of every free minute, but she felt exhausted and annoyed by the direction everything had taken. Her blockage continued to the point that she was not even able to write a sentence, in short she was going from bad to worse and she kept rethinking her attitude towards the blonde; guilt was now her companion and apparently that annoying feeling had no intention of leaving her any time soon.

"Do you plan to fix things at some point?" said Thing, who had jumped onto his bed.

"Everything has an expiration date, our friendship was no exception" the black-haired girl said indifferently.

"We both know that's avoidable. You just need to talk to her about how you feel2

"What I feel?" Wednesday questioned without expressing any emotion even though her heart was pounding inside just guessing where the subject was going.

"I think it's pretty obvious that you're in love with..."

"Don't say anything!" She interrupted nervously. "If you want to keep your fingers, you'd better not even think about talking"

"I won't say anything, but I think you should listen to Yoko anyway"

"How do you know what Yoko...? You followed me" she concluded quickly.

"I'm just trying to make sure you don't take the situation to a point of no return. Besides, you don't want her to change rooms, and if you don't do anything about it, she certainly will"

"At this point, I doubt talking will solve things" she muttered.

"She still deserves to know the truth... and believe me you won't forgive yourself for letting her go"

"She can leave if she wants to" she commented wearily, even though it was well known that she didn't want that to happen.

"In that case I suppose Ajax will be smart enough to take advantage of the situation" Thing remarked in the hope that the goth would take matters into her own hands.

She said nothing, but judging by the look on her face she seemed to be in some sort of internal discussion in which she ultimately appeared to have been defeated.

"I guess I can write to her" she finally muttered.

It took her a few hours and several failed attempts to come up with something that resembled what she was feeling so when she finished her task, she put the paper in a dark envelope and walked towards her companion's night table with the intention of leaving her the letter, but before she was able to complete her journey, she was interrupted by the sound of the front door that opened abruptly, it was Enid, who completely ignored her and walked towards a pile of things and took her red bag. She began to pick up objects and garments randomly, she was going fast, so it was now or never, she had to deliver her confession.

"Enid…"

"I'm busy Wednesday" she replied so icily that the redhead felt a shiver.

"I just want to tell you that…"

"I gave you several chances to talk, now I don't want to listen to you" interrupted the annoyed lycanthrope.

The psychic just remained silent, there was nothing to say, she had already ruined things, she thought bitterly, but before she could react, Thing snatched the dark envelope from her hands and moved towards the blonde in a desperate attempt to fix the situation between the two of them.

"I know she's not worth listening to" Thing pointed out, "but could you read this?"

The lycanthrope frowned with confusion but still took the envelope, and pulled out what was inside, it was a handwritten letter and noticing the neat handwriting of her friend, she felt her chest compress with the anxiety of knowing what the seer had not had the courage to tell her to her face.

The black-haired girl, on the other hand, could not remember ever having felt such nervousness. She was Wednesday Addams, she had been prepared since she was a little girl to face almost any threat, how could a simple letter generate so much fear?

From the moment that envelope touched Enid's hands, her head had done nothing but speculate about the different scenarios regarding what could happen when the blonde learned the truth, and all of them were sufficiently demeaning to wait for an answer. So with long strides she walked towards the door but stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the she-wolf's voice.

-If you walk through that door wednesday... it's over, officially. Whatever is left of this friendship," he imposed with authority, so the goth just stood there waiting for her fate.

The she-wolf, seeing that Wednesday would not run away again, sat down on her bed and began to read the paper in her hands.

Enid:

I am writing to you because for the first time in my life I am afraid, I was never afraid of monsters, but there is something inside me that I do not understand and even though I abhor it, I admire it because I have not experienced a worse method of torture than the one I am feeling right now.

I have tried without success to appease that which with sharp claws seems to want to make its way through my chest, but to my regret I cannot find the way to silence the monster I am afraid of and the only thing I am sure of is that you make it wake up, that is why I have decided to distance myself these days but the more I distance myself, the more this torture intensifies, so taking up again what I revealed in the beginning; I am afraid... afraid of myself and of what I am feeling, afraid that what I have to say will scare you too because I know that your disappointment is inevitable, I have attempted against our friendship and your trust so without further ado, I confess that I am in love with you Enid and I hate myself for lacking the courage to put voice to these words.

I don't pretend to be reciprocated and I don't expect our friendship to be the same after this of course, in fact I am at your disposal regarding what you decide to do from now on and I can assure you that I will try not to cross your path again if you wish.

Sincerely yours,

W.A.

The blonde's heart seemed to want to burst out of her chest at that moment, she felt her hands trembling and she couldn't manage to string together her thoughts. What should she do? Yoko was right, her feelings were reciprocated, it all seemed surreal, or the product of a crazy dream but there she was with the confession between her fingers and Wednesday pacing anxiously around the room waiting for an answer.

"Enid..." murmured the seer after waiting what she considered a long time, "I know you don't want to listen to me, but I wanted to make it clear that I fully understand if you want me to request a transfer to another room" she continued as she assumed her usual more serene posture, "I don't think it's appropriate for you to feel uncomfortable because of me"

"Is this real?" questioned the lycanthrope, pointing to the paper in her left hand.

"The strange thing is that you think I could be joking" she said as her insides tightened when she saw the blonde with that indecipherable look, "Enid, I... I'm sorry I wasn't direct," she whispered, averting her gaze.

The cards had already been played and she had exposed everything she was afraid to say; now she had definitely ruined what they had she thought ruefully. She was so distressed and nervous that she didn't notice the other girl's nearness until it awakened an electric current throughout her body. With a slight lean forward she shortened the distance between their lips and the simple contact had managed to annihilate everything that for a long time had been torturing her.

Enid had kissed her and she felt as if a handful of spiders were walking on her stomach. She felt stupefied as in none of her mental scenarios had she ever considered that the lycanthrope would reciprocate in such a way.
