Further away, Mal forced himself to stand up. Damn! That hurt. It was an indescribable pain. Who knew that love could hurt so much? It was hurting, but she had to recover. She got up using all her magic. All that learning should do something. She teleported to where Agatha was.
"Looks like it's over."
Mal said, looking into the redhead's eyes.
"Yes, it's over, little daughter of Maleficent." Agatha said, as she felt her chest burn with pain. "The worst is yet to come, Mal." She said laughing. She said laughing. "Your mother didn't learn from me, I learned from her. If I am the way I am, it's thanks to your mother. Maleficent is the greatest villain of all time."
"What do you mean?"
Mal used her magic to stand up.
"Do you know what's stronger than true love?" She laughed, a laugh of sarcasm and of someone who would end up winning all the same. "What comes after it. What true love produces. I'm not the first or the last villain you'll face. And I assure you, Mal, you're still going to face the worst war you've ever seen. Good luck."
Before long, Agatha had passed out of her mortal body. She couldn't take it anyway, that spell and what had just happened were too much.
The two of them died together. Agatha and Harry. It may be ridiculous, but she had her Happy Ending. Her true love and her. It wasn't like other Fairy Tales, but it ended well.
Now it was up to Mal. She had to repair all the damage and find a way to stay on her feet for longer.
Mal took a deep breath, drawing out all the magic she had gained. Tinkerbell, Merlin, Rashid and Genie. Everything she had gained from them had turned into a huge, immense bubble of magic. Whether she would make it out alive was another matter, but she had taken the first step.
"Let's go." She said to herself. And the great power that lay in Mal's magic lay in her intelligence. She knew that she alone wouldn't be able to break Agatha's spell, but her friends would. "Rashid, Genie, Merlin and I add Helena, I give all you back what you gave me." When she said that, the four spells dissolved. Although Helena hadn't given her anything, she could help now. "Magic returns to who you were. The spell doesn't corrupt something that is mine, but is now yours again." Every word Mal said made her lose a little more strength. That part would be painful to do. "I, Maleficent Bertha Faery, give all that you have given me, return now to where you are commanded, magic obey my command."
Mal made everything around her explode in magic. After reciting this chant, she couldn't stand it, there was nothing inside, she fell to the ground without any strength.
"What happened?"
Rashid, Helena, Merlin and Genius wondered the same thing when they felt a trickle of magic return to them. Everything around them remained the same or worse.
"What have you done girl?" Was all Rashid could ask himself, knowing that Mal had done something, whatever was going on. He quickly saw the other three Descendants and immediately knew that they wouldn't last long in that state. His first thought was to teleport to Auradon. "What happened here?" That the place was destroyed was no surprise to him. What caught the boy from Wonderland's attention was the sight of the evil witch lying unconscious. Agatha dead was news. He ran to make sure of what he saw. "Harry?" He couldn't believe that was his friend. He looked like the same old king. "Forgive me." He begged the dead body. He closed his friend's eyes.
"Rashid? What happened?"
Helena, Merlin and Genius appeared soon after.
"I don't know and frankly I don't know if I care to know."
"Agatha's dead? How?"
Helena asked again, this time in disbelief.
"Her spell passed through here."
Merlin said, sensing the atmosphere
"But I don't feel anything. Why are we all right?"
Helena wanted to know since she didn't seem to be suffering any collateral damage.
" Mal! My God! Mal!"
Genius interrupted the others' questions as soon as he saw Mal lying on the ground. He ran over to her as soon as he saw her lying on the ground.
"We need to know what happened."
Fairy Godmother said again.
"No, first we need to find a way to stop the spells."
System Failure reminded.
"But Mal can't stay like this for long."
Fairy Godmother yelled at Rashid about the girl who seemed to be losing her life.
"We'll do both. Fairy Godmother and I will look after Mal. Rashid and Merlin, find a way to stop these spells. Our magic is still too little, don't forget that."
Genie softened and came up with a solution.
(...)
"She still has a carid rhythm, but very little." Helena said to Genie when she felt Mal's pulse. "She doesn't seem to have any magic. I wonder if..."
"Did she give us magic? That's my guess too. She really is crazy, sacrificing herself without knowing what will happen to her afterwards."
Genie thought about the possibility if it were real.
"She can't do without magic. Mal doesn't exist without magic."
Helena was worried, very worried.
"Calm down, she must have a little left, very little. If she was without magic, she wouldn't even be alive." Genie thought about what was happening. He couldn't give the magic back, because he needed it, and besides, how was he going to help if he gave away the only power that kept him well? "We have to think of something. Maleficent's scepter!"
"What about it?"
"The Dragon's Eye. There's magic there. Agatha's magic only hit our magic. There's still magic there." Genie stopped to think that in fact Agatha's spell only hit "good" magic - the magic the villains had was still intact. "You know what, maybe we can solve our problems in a single solution." Genius said with a unique excitement, as he thought he had the possible solution in hand.
(...)
" This girl is really crazy."
Merlin said to Rashid, who felt guilty about her condition.
"Yes." As well as feeling guilty, Rashid was dying to find a way out, a loophole or something to end Agatha's curse. "What do you think could end it?"
"A curse from Agatha? I have no idea, Rashid."
"Our time is running out. People are disappearing and others are dying with this pain in their chest."
"I've found a solution!"
Genie said shouting.
"What?"
"We don't have 'good' magic, but evil magic remains."
"What? There's no such thing as good or bad magic, it's magic."
"The magic, the magical artifacts of the villains still have magic. We don't, but they do."
"True, the spell didn't include the villains."
Merlin remembered. He didn't know how Agatha had done it.
"We have Maleficent's scepter, but we'll use it. Jafar's scepter, Madame Mim's cauldron. People think we have magic."
Genio said excitedly.
"And who's going to manipulate them we can't even touch."
"Me. I'm neutral." Rashid recalled. He had no history, he wasn't a character. "I'll use the scepter and we'll see what happens."
"We'll use the Dragon's Eye. Mal will need it."
"All right."
None of them were thinking about afterwards, but how important would it be if no one was here in the future?
Yes, the good guys had the bad guys' items. The one who would save the world was the one who had always fought to destroy it.
Auradon would never be the same again. There would be plenty of time to rebuild and ruling that kingdom would be difficult.
Some time later...
"What happened?" Mal asked when she woke up about three days later. She looked around trying to figure out where she was. She was in a bed, there were serums in it and it was full of cables stuck in it. " Where am I?"
" Mal? Good."
Ben stood in the doorway carrying a cup of coffee in his hand. When he saw those green eyes open again, his smile opened just as the coffee dropped.
"What? Me? You're all right, my God, Ben!" He knew that she couldn't be very emotional, but so what? He just rushed into a hug and was welcomed by her. "You're all right, aren't you? I haven't lost you?" She asked, looking into his eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine. You'll never lose me, true love, right?"
He cried as he kissed the girl.
"You have a lot of explaining to do, but later." She kissed him. How afraid she was never to do that again. She laughed in the midst of those urgent kisses. "I love you, true love."
Again, no one knows if this love was synonymous with luck.
